I have a desktop PC with wireless broadband. A Firefox upgrade installed recently and since then when I first switch on my wireless ADSL router in a morning and try to connect to the internet nothing happens, the green "internet" light stays off. I often switch the router on before the computer at weekends so my son can use his Xbox live and there is never a problem with the wireless internet connection, just these past 2 days? I'm having to go into Internet Explorer type in my IP address in the address bar and physically restart the connection with my username and password which does the trick and then the green internet light comes on and stays on all day. I close IE and open Firefox as normal. What a pain though IE is so slow. Hi, i subscribe for Streamyx 4.0mbps and they give me RIGER wireless ADSL modem 2/2+ DB108-WL. I can use the wireless function. But when i enter my room, which is just 5 meters away from the modem, i got no signal at all. No coverage at all. And my housemate upstairs of course will never got internet. I got my old Linksys Wireless-B 2.4GHz 802.11b broadband router model BEFW11S4 version 4. So, i tried to use this router. Linksys default address is 192.168.1.1. So i tried to connect with the address. Unfortunately, not Linksys configuration page appear, but Streamyx page appear. Because i realized that Streamyx modem also use 192.168.1.1 as it's address. So now, i cannot use my router. And i cannot go far from RIGER modem, even 3-4 meters away, i will get no signal at all. Anybody can help me with this? Im A bit confused on what the actual problem is? Linysys Wireless-N broadband router WRT160N (about 10 months old) Roughly 5 computers on the network but rarely more than 2 online at a given time Cannot recall ever using all of our 12GB of usage in a month. Most of our cables are pretty new. How can I configure BSNL broadband to dial up user name and password in Windows 2000 Professional? I have a ADSL router. It requires to dial username and password. It is a piece of cake in XP but my other computer has Windows 2000. So how can I connect it to the internet? Thank you everyone! moreVoting Question: Why is my Xbox Live connection so bad, and how can I fix it?
From the beginning of my experiences on Xbox Live, my connection in MW2 has always been terrible, usually two or one bars. Sometimes if I'm lucky, and I get a good host, I get three bar connection. When I hit the jackpot, and I'm host, I get the full four bars. The question is, why is my Xbox Live connection so bad? I have a fairly good internet connection speed; I have high-speed broadband (ADSL+2), and I usually can download things at a rate of 500kb/s to 1mb/s on my computer. What is making me have this connection? Is it because of my router, which is about two years old? Or is it because of my ISP? I have tried setting my NAT to Open, but that does not help at all. I see no significant change in speed when I'm playing. I'm also using a wire to connect to Xbox Live - not wireless, as it might make the connection even worse. I have tried turning off both of my computers, but my Xbox Live connection on Modern Warfare 2 has not improved. Thank you for reading my question, and hopefully answering it. moreResolved Question: At present, I am having BSNL broadband internet on D-Link adsl router.I want to set up wireless home network.?

I'm currently with Talk Talk broadband, and I have a speedtouch ADSL modem. Can I simply ring up my provider and ask them about wireless internet, or do I need to buy something first? moreResolved Question: I'm not happy with my broadband connection speed. What can I do?
I have a Belkin N+ wireless adsl router, my BT line is 5.5mbps, I'm 2.6km from the exchange and my ISP (Demon Boradband 2+) provides 'up to 16mbps download speed', for £25 per month. Demon tell me that anything between 3.2mbps and 8.5mbps is "acceptable" as far as they are concerned, and BT say there is nothing wrong with the line. I'm actually getting 3.8mbps, which doesn't seem good to me given that I have an expensive modem and an expensive isp. The problem is that with a product that is at all technical, companies often get away with providing a poor service by baffling their customers and blaming other suppliers. BT blame Demon. Demon blame BT. I don't know who to go after and what to expect; or am I actually getting a good deal?thanks rajinder but two questions; what do you mean by lower side?! and.. if i'm buying a 16 meg service, how can they possibly say that 3.8mbps is "acceptable"? if i sell you a car and you say you're not happy, can i say it's "acceptable" if it's only got one wheel? moreResolved Question: What Modem should i get?

Ok, so I bought this Linksys WRT54GS (Rev . 7.5) Broadband Router. Everything was working fine, but then I tried to upgrade the firmware to the Linux-Based Firmware "DD-WRT" So I logged into the router's configuration (http://192.168.1.1) And I selected the "Upgrade Firmware" Tab, I upgraded from a file that was NOT directly from the DD-WRT Website -The file name was called "vxworkskillerGSv7-v3.bin"- I was sure that the firmware was compatible with my router model, so I proceeded. When I clicked the "Upgrade Firmware" button after Browsing for the file, a few second later it said "Upgrade Success | Continue Rebooting" and it had a "Continue" button so I clicked continue. After that my computer says it's disconnected from the LAN (Ethernet). And wouldn't connect back through LAN (Ethernet) So now here is that status of my router and computer: -With my Router connect via LAN Ethernet to my PC, my PC says it's disconnected- -The "Power" LED is not lit on the front of my router (When router IS plugged into the power supply)- -The "WAN" LED is not lit on the front of my router (Again, the router IS plugged into the router's power supply)- -The "Ethernet Port #1" LED is lit on the front of my router (When plugged into the LAN Port on my PC) -The "Internet" LED is lit on the front of my router (When my ADSL Modem [From Embarq/CenturyLink] is plugged in and the modem is DEFINITELY working) -I CANNOT access the routers configuration (http://192.168.1.1/)- I have tried do the whole "reset" procedure(Press & hold "RESET" for 30 secs, uplug router's power, plug back in router's power(still while holding reset button) and hold reset button for another 30 secs. The whole process does not change anything. I'm trying to reset the router to its original firmware, without having to upgrade the firmware (because I CANNOT access the router config. to do so) ANY SUGGESTIONS? Is there any hope for my router? moreResolved Question: Does a good router make any difference to you broadband speed?

what is the difference between an ADSL modem and an ADSL router? just yesterday, at my uncle's place who, seemed to have a router, had just one single PC connected to the Internet via the router, he had all the same sockets as my modem, but 4 extra Ethernet sockets. now i understand that he can use the thing to set up a small home n/w and connect the entire network to the net without a server and stuff. now when i format my PC i don't need to do anything about my modem settings, i just turn it on, and the browser connects directly. If i try to format my uncle's PC and do the same will it work too? and also, i looked into the internet options menu, and in the connections tab, under the dail-up and virtual private network setting txt box, i found two connections mentioned. one was a broadband and another was personal with his name., what is that? and in the settings option, there was an automatic configuration script thing with an address like: RTL32/RTL33, what the hell is that and what is that user name and password under that all about? please can someone explain? I'm looking at buying one of the above two routers to use with my ADSL broadband. I used to have a Netgear DG834 which worked great, however I have just switched broadband providers, and the new Thomson router, although it has better reception, interferes with some TV senders in the house - I have tried changing channels, to no avail. I have even used my current landline phone number to check the estimated speed i will recieve with 02, and it is roughly 17mbps. Will switching to 02 give me significantly better speeds than i currently have, or is there some other problem causing my internet connection to be ridiculously slow? moreResolved Question: My wireless internet connection won't work within my house?
I have two PCs and a laptop in my house. One PC is connected to the Internet with a BT Broadband landline and until recently the other PC and the laptop used a wireless connection to link to the Internet on our broadband account. For some reason the wireless connection has stopped working, though when we search for wirelsess connections other (secure) networks apopear, presumably our neighbours so it would seem the problem is within my network. I have a Belkin Pre N wireles router and a BT Voyager 240 ADSL Router. moreTop Adsl Broadband Router Links
