Open Question: Windows XP won't detect my DSL modem.?
So here's the thing, I'm dual-booting my computer. I run a Linksys WRT300N with a modem and it works fine with Vista, I can detect my modem with it and create a new Broadband connection with it. Now, I run XP, it doesn't detect anything at all. I try running a CD for it, the program can't detect the modem either, and I can't access the modem like I can Vista. I try directly connecting the modem to the computer, can't find anything either. So yeah, is there anything I can do?I wouldn't use XP if I didn't have to. And I have to, because the solution to my problem does not exist outside using XP. moreOpen Question: No connection to E-Games (PH) Server and Website!?

Porn in the USA: Conservatives Are Biggest Consumers 8 of Top 10 Porn-Consuming States Voted Republican in 2008 Presidential Election By EWEN CALLAWAY Feb. 28, 2009 Americans may paint themselves in increasingly bright shades of red and blue, but new research finds one thing that varies little across the nation: the liking for online pornography. A new nationwide study (pdf) of anonymised credit-card receipts from a major online adult entertainment provider finds little variation in consumption between states. "When it comes to adult entertainment, it seems people are more the same than different," says Benjamin Edelman at Harvard Business School. However, there are some trends to be seen in the data. Those states that do consume the most porn tend to be more conservative and religious than states with lower levels of consumption, the study finds. "Some of the people who are most outraged turn out to be consumers of the very things they claimed to be outraged by," Edelman says. Political Divide Edelman spends part of his time helping companies such as Microsoft and AOL detect advertising fraud. Another consulting client runs dozens of adult websites, though he says he is not at liberty to identify the firm. That company did, however, provide Edelman with roughly two years of credit card data from 2006 to 2008 that included a purchase date and each customer's postal code After controlling for differences in broadband internet access between states – online porn tends to be a bandwidth hog – and adjusting for population, he found a relatively small difference between states with the most adult purchases and those with the fewest. The biggest consumer, Utah, averaged 5.47 adult content subscriptions per 1000 home broadband users; Montana bought the least with 1.92 per 1000. "The differences here are not so stark," Edelman says. Number 10 on the list was West Virginia at 2.94 subscriptions per 1000, while number 41, Michigan, averaged 2.32. Eight of the top 10 pornography consuming states gave their electoral votes to John McCain in last year's presidential election – Florida and Hawaii were the exceptions. While six out of the lowest 10 favoured Barack Obama. http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/Business/story?id=6977202&page=1 moreResolved Question: How do i set up a password on my family's linksys wifi router?

Hi all, I have a Dell PC, just put in a Linksys wireless adapter card (WMP54GS), and am trying to add it to my Virgin wireless broadband network. I had the card in a previous Acer PC and it connected no probs. The Dell is in the same place and the router is directly below it downstairs. The Dell can see the wireless router but the Virgin installer won't connect to it. I've tried downloading new drivers for the card, switching things on and off etc, but to no avail. I own a 64bit HP Limited DV series laptop pavilion which had Vista as an original OS. Recently I completely restored my computer with Windows 7...(had to, i had another issue that upgrading wouldnt have fixed so I restored it completely with win7). My issue now is that I cant stay connected to the internet...its seems like the more I access internet wise e.g. several tabs open, several youtube videos loading etc. the more often it loses connectivity. I diagnose the problem and it comes back always saying its the "Default Gateway is not available"(a device that connects a local network or computer to a network. A broadband modem or router is usually the default gateway). So how do I fix this and what exactly is that??? Because I cant download an excessive amount of mbps or else it will trigger limited connectivity which is NO Internet connection! moreVoting Question: Why my Yahoo Email account is working properly with Google Crome but not with Internet explorer8?

I have one computer that can connect directly and an additional desktop and several laptops that connect wirelessly. I currently have a wireless router that came with the broadband service. I want maximum speed and reliability for the second wireless desktop since I use it for business. I was looking at a ProSafe WNDA330 Dual Band Wireless Access Point. But, don't know if this is overkill and whether I need to add or only use a WNDR3700 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router. As a transplanted St. Louis Cardinal fan, I also want to watch the Cardinals via the MLB TV. Thanks in advance. Glenda moreResolved Question: Internet Verizon Vs. Comcast Delimma?
Ok so i am currently on Comcast. Not to happy with the service as it seems to go down on me almost every other night. I have replaced the router and the modem numerous times so i have already ruled that out as a possibility. My friend was telling me that broadband is faster than cable. I don't know whether or not that is true so maybe you guys can shed some light on the situation. Do you think i should get an upgrade with comcast as i am currently on their 20mbps plan or go to verizon and take a drop in speed to 3mbps which is all that is offered in my area at the moment. Which is better ? My area currently doesn't have access to Verizon FiOs so that is ruled out as a possibility. Just wondering what you guys thought was better having a Verizon 3mbps connection or a comcast "Supposedly" 20mbps connection that seems to always go down and up. btw i have called comcast on this speed problem and all they do is reset the connection and tell me to try it again. They are never any help when it comes to that.Basically i'm just looking for reliability. If that means i have to take a speed drop then so be it. Thanks for all the answers so far.Oh, i forgot to add. If anyone suggests AT&T it is currently not available in my area and it probably never will be. Asked the AT&T rep and i was told that i live in Verizon country so pretty much out of luck there. moreVoting Question: Apache Web Server Problems?
