Resolved Question: Looking for customer reviews for Linksys by Cisco Wireless-N Broadband Router?
Where can I find reviews and opinions online for Linksys by Cisco Wireless-N Broadband Router moreResolved Question: Help Me Choose The Best Router, I have 2 in Mind?
Hello, before i show you the two inexpensive routers i found, both with great reviews, i wanted to ask you brainers a few questions, What is the diffrence between a wireless -g and wireless -n, i know there is some range diffrence between them, however that's all i know. anyway, i want to hook up my road runner cable modem, to a wireless router that will transmit the signal, roughly about 30 feet away, to my playstation 3, which has built in wifi, i could relocate my cable modem, but that would be too much. so here are the two links, please take a look, and with your wireless experience, and my information, help me out, lol thank you. http://www.amazon.com/ZyXEL-NBG419N-802-11n-Wireless-Router/dp/B002HJ25SM/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264742005&sr=8-22 http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-54Mbps-Wireless-Broadband-TEW-432BRP/dp/B000BI1XNE/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264741961&sr=8-8 also i have a 7mbp connection, and i have witnessed download speeds up too 2000kbps, so take this into consideration, as i would like to enjoy my online gaming as smooth as possible. thanks again, -vic moreResolved Question: Bsnl home 500C + plan home speed review?

i was thinking of switching from bt broadband to sky, we want the HD tv but i have only been able to find fairly negative reviews of Sky's broadband service. Is this just because a greater proportion of people with gripes get on the net for a moan ar is it really that bad? moreResolved Question: What Modem should i get?
I am looking for a new modem router with wireless n and it needs to be compatible with BT broadband lines (ADSL). I have tried the belkin n wireless modem router already but that has problems connecting to the internet (might possibly be just mine, don't know yet) and so i am going to send that back. Any good suggestions will be appreciated, either from experience or a good review you've found somewhere. moreVoting Question: What's the deal with mobile broadband?
From looking at the comparisons between mobile broadband services: http://mobile-broadband-services-review.toptenreviews.com/ ..it doesn't seem mobile broadband technology is going anywhere. Every service is 60 dollars per month with a 5GB monthly cap. You would think that competition between them would cause them to offer better plans. I'm also confused about the speeds. Mobile broadband technologies like HSDPA are capable of going at speeds up to 14 Mbit/s. Yet, none of the mobile broadband services offered seem to go nearly this fast, according to this comparison by PC World: http://www.pcworld.com/zoom?id=167391&page=1&zoomIdx=1 Why is this? moreVoting Question: I'm thinking about buying NBA Broadband -- any reviews?
Anyone have that? How is it? Is the stream good? Resolution good? Quality good? Retrieving the archives dependable? How does it compare to MLBTV (which I subscribe to and will continue to do so)? Thanks! moreResolved Question: Smart Subs.com scam or great value?
I am purchasing either a 250Gb or 320Gb hard drive to replace the factory hd on my PS3. While searching, I came across a website called SmartSubs.com, which sold my hd for about $20 less than I could find it on amazon or ebay, and it has free shipping. The only thing is, when you make a purchase, it automatically signs you up for a 30-day trial of "Real Broadband Essentials". After the 30 days, it charges you $13 per month. I don't usually like getting involved in this kind of stuff, but saving over $20 is too good to just let go. So, has anyone else heard anything about this website?? Am i going to have a problem unsubscribing?? Is there a website where I can read reviews of this SmartSubs.com?? moreResolved Question: Playstation 3 or XBox 360 - Which one for my 15yr old at XMAS 2009?
I have read all the reviews etc, yet am more confused than ever... Please help? Situation to consider... I am buying a 42" HDTV to link them to. History of Playstation use - have quite a few 'old' PS2 games, Sing Star etc (But would they be compatible on latest PS3?). Have Wireless Broadband. He likes playing Call of Duty 4 on his PC. Like the thought of the Blue Ray on the PSP to play HD Films (But have none at the moment!) Like the cheaper price tag of the XBox which would leave cash for extra games. If you have both consoles or either one, please give your opinion, thoughts and advice. If anyone in the UK has just bought one for this Xmas, your 'Best Deal' buying advice would also be appreciated. moreResolved Question: Is comcast any good? Does it work Well for anyone?
I'm pretty much stuck with them or verizon mobile broadband, which has a 5 gig limit, too small for me. I use dial-up now. I could try satellite, but I see terrible reviews of them and they have a small limit too. So is Comcast as terrible as some say it is, or does it work OK for you?Well, I live in a rural area near pittsburgh. To the best of my knowledge, it's stay with dialup, get comcast cable, go with hughesnet satellite, or use mobile broadband, which is a cell phone signal, and all providers have a 5 gig limit. moreResolved Question: eMachines® eME627 Laptop Computer reviews and opinions?

I bought this laptop http://officedepot.shoplocal.com/officedepot/Default.aspx?action=entryflash& (its the one on the right that is the Toshiba silver one and marked $379.99. Also i will be putting a few more games like Sims, and maybe Spore. P.S the game i downloaded is like WOW, so will the Sony have high enough graphics to run it? moreResolved Question: Should I switch to LLU Broadband?
I have been struggling with my broadband speed since I moved into my new house in april this year. Initially on BT Total and now on O2 Access. I have never reached a speed of 1mbs but always floating between 0.1 and 0.5 - painfully slow! The trouble is a solution seems to be impossible to find. My line has been checked, my equiptment has been changed and so, of course, has my ISP. I have just discovered that two ISPs, AOL and TalkTalk have 'unbundled' at my exchange (about a half a mile from my house) and are now offering LLU services. So my question is this, would this solve my problem? Should I sign up to either of these providers (even though they get awful reviews on most of the review sites - although I struggle to find a provider that doesn't)? Any help would be much apprieciated. moreResolved Question: I want to take High Speed Broadband?

Hi, buying modem is a pain in the gluteus maximus. Can someone please look at the list on the this link (internode website) and tell me which of these modems support port forwarding and/or PPoA protocol? Even if you can only confirm one or two its k. I've been looking them up but none of the reviews seem to confirm or deny these things. Here is the list: http://www.internode.on.net/residential/broadband/hardware/summary/ Thx in advance, best answer will get a personalised smiley face and congratulatory remark, as incredibly tempting as that sounds.Cheers Colanth. The advice is very much appreciated 8D moreVoting Question: How do i access "Siemens 5880 Broadband Security Router"?

Anybody have any experience with Sky Broadband? I'm currently with BT Broadband and have no complaints except the cost. I have noticed I can get Sky's TV plus Broadband plus Phone and save myself about £20 per month. Only thing is I have no experience of Sky Broadband so I don't know how good it is. A good Broadband connection is important to me because I use the internet a lot. I tried reading reviews of Sky Broadband but all I found was a whole lot of people saying it's rubbish and a whole lot of others saying its great, so now I don't know who to believe! Can anyone advise me? And before you recommend Virgin media I'm not in a cable area so that won't work.... moreResolved Question: Who provides the best broadband?
I am looking at changing my broadband provider as - after many years of loyal custom - Orange are capping my connection speed. I have read so many reviews and am totally confused. My initial preference was with Virgin but I have read nothing good about their service. Then I thought about BT - but am now looking at similar reviews. Does anyone out there have anything good to say about these two? Or should I go with someone else? moreResolved Question: Will this laptop pick up my internet wirelessly? HELP!?
Hi, I need a laptop as my husband now needs to use our Apple Mac for his design work. (I also run a business from home so we need simultaneous use) I have read a few reviews an d the Asus Eee PC 1005HA seems a great little notebook. My queston is, I am no computer expert so please bear with me - We currently have a Siemens router for our broadband, which I have been told can work wirelessly. Does anyone know if this laptop will be able to automatically pick up the wireless signal sent form our router or would I need to but extra equipment? Thanks moreResolved Question: Help please? 10points for the best answer! :)X?
Can you please explain how ICT affects the following aspects of people's life: *Communication *Education For example the communication can be telephone, real-time news, TV, fax etc... Here is an example explaining how ICT has helped 'entertainment and leisure': The internet is a great source of entertainment. There are many online entertainment and leisure activities such as online gaming, gambling, chat rooms and forums. The BBC, NTL and Sky all offer a range of entertainment services accessible via broadband including previews of programmes, sport fixtures and pop videos. As the popularity of these services increases the danger is that people are spending more and more of their leisure time in front of a computer, creating a generation of couch potatoes who don't get enough exercise. However, on the plus side the web provides entertainment for everyone no matter where they live. As well as providing entertainment, the internet can be used to make online bookings. Theatre, cinemas, concerts, hotels and package holidays can all be booked online. Bookings can be made at any time and online catalogues and reviews provide more information than an average shop assistant. This means that people can make the most of their free time. If you are interested in live music you can sign up to receive emails from the main venues. When events are announced the venues send a programme list straight to your PC for free and you can purchase tickets immediately. Or you can download music straight to your iPod or MP3 player. HMV digital and Apples iTunes are two of the sites that allow you to download music legally. I was hoping you could do the same for either 'Communication' or 'Education' or both if you really want to help me :) x Oh and please list the benefits and drawbacks of using ICT for these aspects of life Please please help!!! x moreResolved Question: BT home hub...the way to go?
I have had AOL broadband for over 3 years now and have got the point where i am sick of it! I have an xbox 360 with a wireless network adapter and the most annoying thing is that i can't watch any video's and download speed is absolutely rubbish(took me 8 hours to download a map pack)! So my friend has got BT home Hub and he say's its really good, but i have read some reviews on yahoo answers and they seem to suggest its not that good? I have read some bad reviews about both, but I am assuming that most people only bother with reviews when they have something negative to say. Also will this router work? http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/linksys-broadband-router-with/4505-3319_7-31338094.html Thanks for any help. moreVoting Question: Being charged for excess Broadband usage that was not used!?
A relative of mine has had broadband with a 10GB monthly allowance from a well known established ISP for almost 2 years. Everything was fine until December 2008. Since then they have been receiving excessive usage emails from the ISP, claiming excess use of 20-30 GB per month and these email warnings have sometimes been received after only 2 week's of the month has elapsed. The only person to use the internet is a pensioner who only uses it for emails and occasional web browsing. Also usage has apparently occurred on 2 occasions when my relative was on holiday and no one else was in the house! We have complained to the ISP on numerous occassions and have tried 2 different Home Hub boxes and have changed the security WEP key at least 5 times and from WEP to WPA. All ofwhichh has made no difference. The ISP has recently sent out an engineer to check the settings on my relatives pc and as predicted, found nothing untoward. The ISP are now refusing to do anything else about it and are insisting on charging for broadband use that we have not used ourselves! The ISP have insisted it is not a line fault as they say they can review this remotely? and have refused to send out an engineer to look at it from my relatives house. My relative does not want the hassle of lookig for a new ISP, but what other options do we have and how do we stand legally? Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks, Paul moreResolved Question: Best Mobile Broadband for 'once in a while' use?
I'm a self employed freelance writer and will be going away for two weeks without internet (I need it for work) and am thinking of PAYG Mobile Broadband. A lot of the bad reviews I've read have been from people using it as their ultimate broadband source, but I am looking at getting a Pay As You Go No Contract dongle for the time that I'm away. What is the best company to go for? I will be checking email and sending text through a simple system. Nothing flashy. Also, what is the coverage like? All the websites seem to say "fantastic coverage everywhere" but I'm not too sure. Thanks! moreResolved Question: What is the battery life of this netbook?

A couple of months back I formatted my computer due to a virus that put me in a 'botnet'... Sky (my ISP) sent me a letter disabling my connection until I reformatted. Since then, my internet connection has been really bad. Some days it is OK; downloading a 3mb file in a minute. However, some days such as today, it is really slow and downloading about 12 kb/s. I have done a speed test on speedtest.net and it came up with this; download; 0.26mb/s upload; 0.32mb/s ping; 62ms Other details you may need; - I'm using Windows XP Home Edition SP2 - 704MB ram - My PC speed is fine. I did a defrag with 'Defraggler' and a cleanup using CCleaner on Tuesday. - I have done scans with Spyware Terminator, Spybot Search and Destroy, and AVG. I know these are not the best anti-virus programs, but I cannot really download a better anti-virus until I get a decent internet to do it with! - I have tried connecting to the internet without the Windows Firewall and there is no difference. - I'm tempted to use Winsock XP Fix but with some of the bad reviews out there and the general description I am not sure it is the option I need to take. - I have reset the router a numerous amount of times, checked all the connections and tried connecting at the wall instead of an extension. I have even tried removing the phones and just connecting with my router. - I am using a Belkin Desktop Card with the white Netgear box provided when purchasing Sky Broadband (DG834GT). - I have no wireless phones or electrical appliances near the router except a television; however this is unplugged. - My Nintendo Wii can connect to the internet fine. - I am on a Basic broadband package but the speed provided isn't as bad as the speed I am getting! - I have no bad processes running; I haven't done a Hijack This but I have checked about my processes and where they are running etc etc. - This isn't just in my browser (Firefox); it affects any program I try and use. When I try using FTP to connect to somewhere, it fails most of the time, and I fail using Windows Live Messenger and Skype. - A 5 minute Youtube video takes about 15 minutes to fully load on a bad day. - I have rung Sky several times and they insist it isn't their end. Their advice is to unplug the router which helps for about 5 minutes; within that time they hang up saying it's sorted. Shows how much they help. - Uploading is usually fine; I can upload at a great speed. - Pages do not come up 'page cannot be displayed', the loading is just really slow. - All the Windows Updates are up to date. So there you are; I've tried a LOT to fix my problem. It's really getting on my nerves now. If you need any more information from me I'll give it to you. Thanks. moreResolved Question: Looking for a good router - can you advise on what's best?
I've been looking for a good router at a good price (UK). I have a laptop, PC and Playstation 3 that I use for online gaming. What is the best to go for? I am considering satellite internet as I live in a rural area without access to broadband or dsl. I've read several negative customer reviews about Wildblue, Hughesnet, and Skyway USA. People complain about inconsistent or slow speeds, unreliable service and equipment, and unhelpful customer service. I would like to hear from anyone who has used any of these providers. Let me know what your experience was like. moreResolved Question: Is satellite broadband internet really as bad as some people make it out to be?
I live out in rural Virginia where my only internet options are dial-up and satellite broadband. Even wireless isn't available out here. So basically I'd just like to know if WildBlue and Hughesnet are really as bad as the online reviews make them out to be? I've even heard stories about some folks getting the Better Business Bureau involved to get them out of their contracts. I know all about each service's FAP so that's not a surprise to me. Also, would watching a lot of YouTube videos eat up bandwidth? My current dial-up speeds are 24kb for browsing and 2.4kb for downloads. moreResolved Question: cheap but good broadband?
Ok i've just moved into a new flat and i need to get the internet sorted can anyone recommend the best deal for me I've heard the post office do a ggod deal but i can't seem to find a reviews for them. I'm not interested in any tv packages either. Thanks in advance moreResolved Question: Recommended Wireless-N Router for Sky broadband setup?
I have a Sky broadband setup that by and large works OK but the naff Netgear modem/router they supply has a pretty poor range. I was thinking of plugging a separate wireless N router into the back of it so the Netgear provides the connection but the wireless N provides the coverage. I have seen some semi-decent reviews for the Buffalo Netfiniti range but has anyone tried an approach similar to the above or have any alternative setup they can recommend. I would replace the Netgear but Sky don't let you do that apparently and theonly website I've found that helps you unlock it doesn't work for my model.I was with BT and I left for a reason, Sky offer a free wireless router too and they throttle your connection a whole heck of a lot less. moreResolved Question: gaming pc setup is my config ok?

I am considering getting Clearwire internet. I live in shoreline, wa, and I only need broadband internet for a few months, before I go back to college. So far, all the reviews I have read about clearwire are awful. There is ONE review from shoreline, wa that says that the internet works fine, especially for playing games (which I am into.) What are peoples thoughts on clearwire, especially in the shoreline area? Please share the location you used clearwire at when posting, thanks :] moreResolved Question: Can Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54G2 support Linux?
I'm thinking about installing Linux on my desktop, but I wanted to make sure that my router was compatible with Linux. So, I went to Linksys' website and they said that the router is compatible with Mac and Windows and nothing about Linux. But, reading some reviews after a quick Google search has some people claiming it works fine on Linux. Is this true? Can I install Linux without any problems? moreResolved Question: are talk talk any good for broadband?
i've just moved into a new flat and i'm looking for a good broadband provider talk talk are the best offer i've found but i can't find any good comments about them and i can't find any recent reviews. any comments would be good thanks. moreResolved Question: Sky Sports without a dish?
Hi, I currently have a Freeview box on which I subscribe to Setanta Sports. As Setanta is about to go bust I am reviewing other options before the new season. - I would like, if possible, to get Sky Sports - I do NOT want a dish stuck to the house or in the garden - I am in an area where I can get cable, satellite, pretty much everything - I do not want any bundle deals. I just want the telly - no phone or broadband - I am not bothered about movie channels or anything else - just want the footy (and cricket). I find the web sites confusing and cannot find what I want without a whole load of other stuff that I don't want. Any advice appreciated. moreVoting Question: Mini Laptop Questions?
I've been looking into the HP Mini Netbook. I want one mostly to do school work on (high school stuff, nothing huge) using Microsoft Word programs and of course the internet. And I also need image files and the usual stuff like that. I found out from verizonwireless.com that it comes with Microsoft Works, and I don't need anything more than that, I mainly need the word processor. It even has an 80 GB hard drive, just like the desk top computer I now share with my family. I've figured that the Mini Netbook is basically exactly what I need, not to mention that it's only 199.99, with the two year mobile broadband agreement thing. So now I only need to know some stuff from user experience I guess. Is it worth getting sooner or should I wait to get a regular sized laptop? Specific Questions I Have for those who have used one: -Is it slow? Does it lag generally? -Is it delicate? Will I be able to break it just by dropping it on a hard floor or pavement? -Do you get used to the really small screen? Can it be hard to read smaller text? (I would ask about the small keyboard but I have small enough hands. haha.) -How do you compare owning the mini laptop with a larger one? Is it equally easy to use or is it more annoying or challenging? If somebody can answer these for me or give me links for a page that gives customer reviews or something that would be awesome. Thanks! Thanks for the response Joe, although i'm not sure about your statement that it's not meant for high school students...? I'd think anybody could use one fine...you talked about games, although I am a teenager I don't download and play games, I want it for the internet, word processor, and saving files. That's pretty much it. So I don't see why it wouldn't be something for a person like me...? moreResolved Question: What's the easiest way for my neighbor to share his T1 internet connection with me?
We live out in rural Virginia where true high speed internet simply isn't available and won't be for quite some time. I've checked into broadband via satellite, but the amount of brutally negative reviews online is staggering so that's out of the question. Anyway, I've recently discovered that my neighbor across the street has two T1 lines that he pays a little over $1,000 per month for and he said he wouldn't mind sharing his connection with me for $50.00 a month. He said he gets 3 mbps combined. I currently get around 2.5-3 kbps with dial up so you can understand my frustration. Anyway, we live about 200 yards apart and we can both clearly see the others home. Is there some kind of high powered/gain wireless antenna we can get so he can feed his connection over to me? I don't know much about wireless technology so any advice would be greatly appreciated. moreResolved Question: Not considering the Whispernet (since I don't live in the US) what's the best reader, Kindle2 or Sony Reader?
I want to buy an eReader, but since I live abroad I have no use for Kindle 2's Whispernet function (I'd have to download books through my broadband). Every review I read stated that Kindle 2 is way better than Sony Reader, but they all point to the Whispernet connection as THE main advantage. So taking that aside, would you still recommend Kindle 2 over the Sony Reader? moreVoting Question: Do you pay a monthly bill for usb wireless adapters?

I have just signed up with Talk Talk for broadband and have come home to read countless bad reviews online.Has anyone joined recently and had any bad/good experiences as most of the reviews i have read are pretty old so things may have changed. I still have time to get out if i'm quick! Thanks for all your replys folks. The thing is with the phone line I can get free International calls, which I need as I'm spending a fortune on them with BT. So would it be worth keeping talk talk for the phone and getting a different internet provider or is there any other company that does a good deal for both? moreResolved Question: I want info on the official ps3 headset,as the Jabra one i got with Warhawk sucks !?
