Resolved Question: MAG PS3 game connection......does it happen to anyone else?
I'll be playing MAG for awhile then later the game just disconnects and says "game server was lost" or "please check your connection." Then after that i have to reset my connection so the internet can work again. Im not sure whether my connection is dsl or broadband but i use this thing called "ClearWire" and connect that to a "Linksys Network Hub" and then connect from the network hub to my PS3. I connect all of these with ethernet cables. But this only happens to the game MAG. With any other PS3 online games i have, it works fine without any problems. I have a windows xp computer that was recently infected by a virus so i deleted everything on the computer and reinstalled xp. I had the internet working before but now cant figure out what im doing wrong wverything is hooked up correctly moreVoting Question: Connecting a computer with wireless connection from a wireless modem?
I will try to make this as easy as possible to understand. My next door neighbor just recieved high-speed internet. This high-speed internet is a wireless broadband connection company. They are Clearwire Connections. The internet signal is beamed directly from their tower to the modem located in the house. The reason they have this internet is because we live in the country-side. There is no way to get cable internet out where we live. (I also have Clearwire internet.) There's also another problem with this. In their home, there's only a select few places that the modem can pick up reception. Sadly, none of these spots are located in the actual computer room. There is a spot in their house where they get full bars of reception, but it's located outside of the computer room because reception in the actual computer room is terrible. This is where I'm stumped: They purchased a router in order to send a signal from the modem to the computer. (The router they purchased is here: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=459640) We plugged the router into the modem and we plugged the wireless adapter into the back of the computer. We installed the software and everything like that, but the adapter is not picking up signal from the router! Why is this?! Do we have the wrong router set up or something? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Abridged version: How do I connect a wireless modem to a computer that's in a diffferent room? I just moved to Chattaroy, Washington (zip 99003) and need something other than satellite for my MagicJack and my husband's wii. I can't find any cable providers and don't know much about internet. We need a high speed connection to get any online games working for my husband, and while our satellite is "high speed", it's not good enough for what we want to do. Is there any other way to get high speed in my area? I know there are several connection types and such, but don't know what all is needed. The problem is that we pretty much live in the middle of nowhere. Please help us! First person to give us a provider out here will be given best answer. I've already tried Comcast and Time Warner, and it's not out here. I decided to switch out from Clearwire Broadband to a local provider. I understood that there was a cancellation fee. The 1st rep I spoke w/ gave me the chance to find someone to "take over" the account to get around the cancellation fee. She gave me a free month to do this. I couldn't find anybody to take over my account so I just had them charge me. Unfortunately, I cancelled the same day they charged my Checking account for the following month. So, I asked if I could get reimbursed the $43.96 or at least get it prorated until they receive their modem back. The 2nd rep I spoke w/ told me that if the modem is in good condition, then I will get at least a prorated amount back. I even took pics of the modem as proof! Later when I checked on the situation, the 3rd rep I spoke w/ told me there were no such notes from the 2nd rep about getting a reimb/prorated amount. On top of that, I'm getting back-charged for that "1mo free" the 1st rep gave me. I think I'm getting duped! Help! moreResolved Question: What is the cheapest and fastest broadband in Ireland and UK?
My dad was wondering who to get broadband internet from and who is the cheapest and best in performance. We came up with 2 options... Clearwire or Irish Broadband. He needs wireless broadband that doesn't need a phone line since he hasnt got one and that has reasonable download speed since he only uses it to download media like music or movies and doesnt want to spend a bundle on monthly and connection fees so if u have an oppinion on or chosen companies or have a better one please tell me! moreResolved Question: Broadband internet options in Rural area?
I live in Monroe, NC. The cable companies dont provide broadband out to where I live and companies like clearwire and windstream are also unavailable. I have a HP Pavilion Media Center m8226x desktop. My girlfriend has a clearwire wireless modem to connect to the internet on her HP Pavilion Slimline. She set up her Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router (Model WRT54G) 802.11g so that I could pick up internet on my desktop. She had me run the Linsys Setup Wizard CD (ver. 8.0) and I attached the antenna that came with my computer to the Wireless LAN card connector in the back. I had internet and everything was fine for about a week. Then, the other day, the internet suddenly stopped on my desktop. She still has hers but mine is gone. I used Windows Vista and HP programs on my computer extensively to try to fix the issue. Here's what I've found:1.In the "Windows Netword Diagnostics" window I get a message that says "A cable is not plugged into the network adapter "Local Area Connection" Plug a cable into the network adapter "Local Area Connection". ** The antenna is securely connected. Apart from that, I'm lost. 2.When I try to "connect to a network" I get the message "Windows cannot find any networks." 3.In the "Network Sharing Center", when I clicked on "View Full Map" I received the message "The Adapter is not connected." 4.In the "Network and Internet window, under "Network Connections" I see: LAN or High-Speed Internet (1) Local Area Connection, Network Cable Unplugged, Nvidia nForce Networking Controller 5.The Detailed Device Information shows "false" next to "Adapter Connected" 6.The driver is present. It is version 6.2.0.126,6-21-2006 7. I just bought this computer two weeks ago from Circuit City. It was a display model. They restored the factory settings before selling it to me.I have been messing around with the various diagnostice tools for 2 days now. I also went onto my girlfriend's computer to see if hers had blocked mine for some reason but that doesn't seem to be the case. She's out of town until later tonight and she will probably wave her magic wand and make it all better, but then again, maybe she'll be stumped too. I'm at my wit's end here. Could someone please help? Thanks. Brian moreResolved Question: Why do people put up with crummy ISP's?
Look I don't care what it is, if some place I use the services of doesn't cut the mustard for me, I get on with some company that does. I had Earthlink for dialup and their install CD crashed my Mac, (the first and only time anything ever made it crash too!) and then after a trip to the Apple Store for a courtesy HD wiping and OS reload, off I was sputtering down the internet, pages timing out before they finished loading and ihhssh'. Then I bought wireless broadband with Clearwire, and I plugged it in and I was online in under 10 minutes. I have used them ever since. I get so tired of hearing of people I know and friends complaining of their Comcast internet screwing up and their Verizon being out pretty regularly, but why do they all endure it? I thought one of (if not the only) beauty of a free market is that you are dissatisfied with one provider of a service, there are others which are potentially better. In my case I wanted reliable quick internet that didn't suck, and now I do!I didn't say any one certain ISP was good, I just don't see how people stay with the lame unreliable ones. moreResolved Question: I'm considering gettimg the magic phone service,I'm wondering if my clearwire modem is considered broadband

I have been trying since yesterday morning to configure my WGT624 v3 router to work with my new AT&T DSL. I previously used Clearwire Wireless Broadband and the router was working. I connected the new modem to the computer directly and set up my account with AT&T. When I tried to add the router however, the internet connection ceased to work. I called Netgear, but I have exceeded my 90 days and I called AT&T who was no help, on both occasions. I have enabled the modem for the PPPoE to be both on the modem and on the computer, and neither works. I have tried every possible setting I can think of and still no internet. It's as if the router is not starting the PPPoE as it should. Is there a way to spoof the MAC address for my router? Is that necessary with AT&T? Everyone I've talked to hasn''t been able to tell me what I''m doing wrong. If you think you can help but need more info, email me: titanium89man@gmail.com I really need help, this is getting retarded... moreResolved Question: Netgear Wireless Router with AT&T Yahoo DSL...?
Well, I'm trying to set up my network with our new ISP. It was working relatively fine with Clearwire Wireless Broadband. We just got AT&T DSL so I set it up this morning. Well, it worked fine when it was straight modem to computer. Then when I added the router, it stopped working. I've put the settings in the router...a lot of times. I reset the router, a lot of times. Unplugged and replugged everything, a lot of times. I called Netgear, its a Netgear router, who won't help me because I've had it longer than 90 days. I called AT&T who couldn't help, tried, but failed. The router is now detecting a PPPoE connection, which is correct, and I enter the login for the account, but when it is finished, it still doesn't have internet...its getting me all riled up. I can't figure out what the problem is. AT&T had me log on to the modem and set the PPPoE for "on the computer" which is something that I hadn't had before, but it still won't work. It's a Motorola modem... AT&T told me to use "username@att.net" as the user name. I've tried it with and without, no difference.Cool, I will try the 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.10.1 change and see if that works. moreResolved Question: i have clearwire broadband and the thing has become so slow has this happened to anybody else?
