Resolved Question: Suffering with a slow download speed?
Hi. I currently use Madasafish for my broadband and use a D-Link DSL-G624T wireless router. I live in a rural location and as such the fastest speed I have is 2MB. I've been with Madasafish for 2 years now and had hardly any problems. Recently however I have had speeds as low as 215KB and at the moment I'm getting 385KB. I've queried this with Madasafish support and feel that they are just trying to fob me off with a checklist of things to do such as linking to the router directly via LAN, and also checking the phoneline into the router itself. I'm convinced that their is nothing wrong with the router itself, and that the fault lies elsewhere. I just thought I'd check to see if anyone has some reasonable suggestions on how to sort this. I've read bad reports recently about Madasafish, with it being taken over. It did use to be one of the top 10 providers but those days are long gone. Of course I have considered swapping providers, but thought I'd give them a chance to remedy this. moreResolved Question: What are some really good internet service providers in the Philippines?
I have PLDT MyDSL right now and it TOTALLY SUCKS! I keep on getting disconnected, and I have to restart my modem quite a number of times throughout the day. I am really frustrated with PLDT's service because whenever I call them they say they'll fix it, and they do (for 2 days), then the problem is back. I really want to switch to another service provider that can give me the speed and connectivity that I need. Broadband or dsl, whatever, just give me something better please! Thanks! moreResolved Question: Best and cheapest Dial-up internet providers?
I currently am signed on with MSN at $22 a month, which that is an outrageous price in this day and age. I've called both Verizon and AT&T and the DSL packages are not available in my area. And yes, I will be switching to broadband when I can afford it. But for now I'm looking for a cheaper alternative, other than AOL and ComCast. Any advice on where to start looking? moreResolved Question: AT&T Broadband service ?
We've been experiencing very frequent network outage with AT&T DSL service, severe congestion, and connection drops. Their customer service is like baby formula from china, unprofessional. Is AT&T going down with their service ? Is there better carrier or service provider in the SF bay area ? moreResolved Question: ATAT problem internet?
I am currently using ATAT internet, and i keep on getting disconnected. Here is what happens -Internet goes up for 2 minutes, then back down for like 4 minutes. starts at like 7 till 11pm -It goes crazy from 7:00-last till midnight. when i mean it goes crazy, it dces randomly. Here is what shows whenever i get dces. The system could not contact your Internet service provider to create an Internet connection. This can occur due to emergency network maintenance or other unforeseen temporary service disruptions. The Service LED light on the front of the system will automatically turn green once the problem has been resolved, typically within a short period. And here is the other one. The Broadband Link is Currently Not Available Error DSL Failed to Connect The system’s internal DSL modem does not currently detect a DSL signal or is having problems connecting. If you have the second problem, you probably know the rest. I need help, because my internet connection wont stop doing this. This started around november. I did everything, but there always seems to be a red light on the router. moreResolved Question: Anyone who know how to set up the Sharp broadband fax machine ux-D1200SE to work with At&t Yahoo DSL provider?

I'm trying to order internet service for my in laws. They're old and probably won't use the internet much, so I need something basic and cheap. Broadband would be great, but I'm expecting DSL to be their best choice. Something around $20/mo would be good. Anyone know of any? moreResolved Question: how can i check and see the speed that im getting from my DSL Broadband service provider ? Is there a website?
how can i check and see the speed that im getting from my DSL Broadband service provider ? Is there a website? thanks moreVoting Question: Why is my internet so slow when I have cable broadband?
I've been noticing lately that my internet isn't as fast as it used to be. Videos, especially, have been taking a while to load. I thought that the servers have just been overloaded or something. However, I just watched this video on CNET; apparently, a recent study shows that actual internet speeds are typically 50-80% *less* than what Internet Service Providers advertise. That's a lot. So, I used the speed test on www.whatismyip.com and found out that my download speeds are a measly 976 KB/s. That's like DSL speeds, when I'm paying for 5 MB/s Cable Broadband from Comcast. Seriously? Can I request to pay one fifth of the price if I'm only going to get one fifth of the speed? This doesn't seem right. Scanned for viruses, and there are none. Nothing is downloading, either. I don't know what's wrong. moreResolved Question: I NEED HELP WITH 3 COMPUTER REALTED QUESTIONS?
Hi First question is that i have the blue screen error, and i dont know how to fix it. Help? Second one is that, my dad saved some pics to a windows EXCEL ( idk if that spelt right ) and we want to put the pictures into a folder. They wont drag across or cut and paste across into a folder. So what should we do? Then i play a game, and it sometimes says it has encountered a problem, and needs to close. I sent a error report to the game, and this is what they said. Based on the information you submitted to us in your bug report, it appears that you may be experiencing some latency or "lag" in your Internet connection. Latency is determined by the amount of time it takes your computer to talk to the game server (commonly referred to as a "ping"). This has nothing to do with bandwidth, so even the high end broadband connections sometimes have latency problems. Latency is not something that can easily be changed. If you connect to the Internet through a proxy, that will greatly increase your latency since first you need to talk to the proxy then the proxy talks to the game server. If you are connecting through a proxy, please try disabling your proxy or contact your network administrator (or Internet Service Provider) for additional instructions on optimizing your proxy configuration. Through our experience, we have found that users that utilize high speed Internet connections (DSL, cable modems, and satellite) often experience less latency than those on dial-up connections. This may not be an option for all of our users or you may already be on a broadband connection, so another option is to keep your computer running smoothly. I'm not sure what to do, and any other suggestions? Thanks! moreVoting Question: What cable TV and internet services do you use, and are you happy with them?
We're looking for new providers for both DSL (or broadband) and cable TV and thought we'd do a poll to find out what services other people use. Also: do you have a landline? I want to know if when I create my static IP address for my Westell 6100 modem, will I use my old public IP address? I want to start a web site using my computer and some others inside my network. Also when I create my static IP address can I choose any number that isn't in the private IP range and can this static IP be changed? My internet provider is Verizon and I have a broadband connection. I also have DSL as well.Yes, I can create a Static IP, I'm looking at the page that says, " Set up an IP address to be your default NAT destination," or my Static IP address. moreVoting Question: Is broadband the same as DSL?
Is broadband the same as DSL? Does broadband internet service have subdivisions? What are they, if you know, if there are any? Also what is a good broadband service provider(also provide cost)? moreResolved Question: Will 5GB of data be enough for home networking?
I recently purchased a Verizon mobile hotspot device, which I will be using as my home connection. Mobile broadband is the only high speed connection available in my new apartment, as Verizon does not offer DSL, and no cable providers service the area. The connection will be shared between my girlfriend and I, on our laptops. We use the internet primarily for college, but I play some games on Xbox Live. Will 5GB of data, monthly, be sufficient, or should I supplement the MiFi with some good ol' fashioned Dial-Up? moreResolved Question: how do i change my service provider on my computer?

Does anyone know of a reasonable home phone and dsl, broadband, or wireless provider for the Arlington, TX (Tarrant county) area other than AT & T, Time Warner, or Earthlink? There seems to be a monopoly of providers with reasonable fees. moreResolved Question: How to get high speed internet providers to extend coverage?
Where I live, there are no broadband providers other than satellite. Satellite is too expensive at the moment. A mile or two in every direction DSL or cable is available. However, just the little strip of our road where I live, no high speed internet is available. We have been told that charter's trunk line runs down our road, but when I call them they tell me that we aren't serviceable. We also have been told repeatedly by many companies I've called that AT&T is suppose to be our DSL provider and Charter is suppose to be our cable provider. Both say we can't get service. How can I go about getting them to extend coverage to where I live? I do live in a rural area, but I live closer to a town than most of the places that can get broadband internet. It's just the 2-3 miles of my road, while the rest can get DSL or cable. moreResolved Question: Satellite internet service, how is it?
I've recently moved and I have a laptop and I'm ready to connect back to the internet at home. But my local phone service doesn't cover DSL in my area. They said I could possibly use their satellite broadband but I'm nervous about it and of course if I do decide on it I plan to shop around. The only other providers that I've heard of are Hughes-net and AT&T's satellite broadband. Have any of you had experience with either? If so would you recommended it and do you know of any other options? moreResolved Question: How to get fast internet in a Texas rural area?
We just recently moved to a rural area and ALL of the DSL/Broadband internet providers do not provide those services in our area. (Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, Embarq, and Sudenlink) Our only option is dial up, but its too slow. We currently have a Verizon Mifi but the reception is almost non- existent. All of those other options that use a cellphone reception are also not available. What options do I have? Is there such a thing as satellite internet? Any links that can help me? Thank You So Much! BTW My zip code is 77807 moreResolved Question: Who is the best broadband provider in Lebanon?
I'm going to Leb soon, and I don't have a phone line there, so DSL is not an option. Also I heard it takes 2 weeks to be installed. So I'm wondering what broadband should I get? There are many providers...Wise, Mobi, Wigo... I'm confused. I heard Wise is the best. Is that true? moreResolved Question: Does anyone out there use Satellite internet?
I am considering satellite internet as I live in a rural area without access to broadband or dsl. I've read several negative customer reviews about Wildblue, Hughesnet, and Skyway USA. People complain about inconsistent or slow speeds, unreliable service and equipment, and unhelpful customer service. I would like to hear from anyone who has used any of these providers. Let me know what your experience was like. moreResolved Question: HHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!?

I have been researching all wireless internet services, and it appears most are the same, as example, I had Sprint for $80.00 a month and it stunk, then I switched to Verizon, and they were terrible as well, barely faster than my dial up. I am on TimeWarner broadband and this too is only slighty faster than dial up because I am at a far distance from amplifier I am told. DSL is not available, so I discovered a new provider, a wireless internet which also includes unlimited mobile, text and all the applications, all at only $79.95 a month, no extra taxes or fees, so is there any other options. I looked into satellite, but way too expensive at $150.00 a month. www.Low-Cost-Wireless.com moreResolved Question: I got Broadband DSL Connection of 4096Kbps Speed.Speed is very SLOW ?? WHY ?

Are there any other providers that have a similar offer? moreResolved Question: Frequent broadband disconnection. m so pissed off. I think that my internet service provider is cheating on me?
I have a broadband connection that promises 2mbps speed and it dsurely gave me that speed uptil now. But recently a problem showed up..... Whenever I download something(from torrent or rapidshare or star downloader or a simple rar file while browsing), it starts getting downloaded nicely, but after few seconds, the speed becomes ZERO. No webpage then opens anywhere. Internet connection apparently shuts down. BUT the green LED of DSL on my external modem glows perfectly during that time. In order to resume connection, i restart my modem and wait for another connection. Now my download starts again with good speed. But then internet gets disconnected in same manner. It doesnt get disconnected when I do routine surfing. It happens only when I do downloading of a file etc. I am so pissed off. I think that my Internet Service Provider is cheating on me. I think it has an algorithm which says that if my download speed reaches a certain limit, dont allow traffic to my IP but stay connected to my IP. May be the modem needs to be changed. But in that case, why does my modem works perfectly while normal surfing? I am using Vista. I also suspect some virus/ware or some firewall etc. Please help me. Thanks m online. If you require more details, just mention it in ur answer.....I will update my question at once. moreVoting Question: How do I choose an internet provider? DSL or Broadband? What speed do I need?

(same question for cable providing) moreResolved Question: what is the best isp for gaming?
I live out in the country around mountains so I cant have dsl. Right now i have digis a wireless broadband ISP. Their website said I would get downloads as fast as 2mbps I thought I was going to get fast downloads and a great gaming experience. At first xbox live works good but when you get to the usage limit the bandwidth throttling kicks in and you only get one bar and lag the whole time, and if that's not enough their external ip address and firewall makes nat settings very strict and impossible to correct with port forwarding through the router in the lan. I want a wireless broadband service provider that: is great for games like call of duty or halo, has no usage limit, has no bandwidth throttling, has high speed, and has open nat or allows the nat to be opened with port forwarding. Any suggestions? moreResolved Question: Xbox Live Connection Troubles...New Internet Provider...?
I currently cannot connect to Xbox live with my new modem and service provider, yet I can go online with my PC, so the problem is related to my Xbox and the new connection...the PC is excluded. Thanks moreResolved Question: Is Wild Blue satellite internet really as bad as some make it out to be?
I've read mostly very negative reviews about each of the big three satellite internet providers (StarBand, HughesNet, Wild Blue), but I'd like to focus on Wild Blue since it is the cheapest. Broadband, wireless, DSL and fiber optics are not currently available in my area. I guess my main concern would have to be is Wild Blue really as awful as most of the online reviews make it out to be? I know there's a 7.5 gig per month limit for the basic package and once you pass that your speeds are throttled down to 125 kbps. Is that correct or is it actually slower? Are there any other fees I should be taking notice of? I know there's a whopping 2 year contract right off the bat so I’d really like to hear from real WB users. moreResolved Question: which is the best Peer to Peer Software ? I just got verizon wireless from broadband, using a USB card about a week ago. It's 60 dollars a month, but the first month is just a test-drive before you get knee-deep in a contract, although it's still paid (unfortunately.) I never intended on keeping the service, as it is much too expensive- I used to pay 80 a month for an internet, cable, and phone bundle. Anyhow my problem is this, the plan I have is limited to 5 GB monthly, and being somewhat computer illiterate, I thought this was a lot. To my surprise, after having the service for only one week, we have almost used 4GB. I used to have chater cable internet and never remember having to worry about how many GB were used. I need unlimited access to the internet as I work online and use it for online schooling. I can't get charter, as it is not available in Richmond VA. I do not care whether I have cable or dsl, the only thing I don't want is dial-up. Someone please help! Before I run out of Giga! moreVoting Question: Internet Service Provider must change...help...?

Atlantic Broadband Service Provider, And When i connect directly from my Internet Box (Whatever its called, Its black, has green lights) To my Xbox360 Ethernet Jack, It does not work. However, When i hook up my Computer's Ethernet to the SAME jack that i try and put my Xbox into, it works, which is why i am talking to you right now. So something is wrong. Hopefully someone will be able to guide me step by step, and will achieve best answer. moreResolved Question: advice on how to get out of aol contract?
ok so here goes (posted this a while ago but didnt get any advice on how to get out of the contract so apologise to those who answered this one before) We were with AOL broadband and home phone for a pretty long time, we cancelled it to go with tiscali home phone and wireless. Tiscali were taking a very long time to connect us to them we waited over 6 weeks and wernt getting a straight answer from them, as to why they wernt connecting us with their phone line and wireless so we eventually rang them and said forget it they wernt giving us any answers to why our switch over to them hadn't happened. So then i rang back aol and went with their wireless we got the wireless kit but the DSL wouldn't work (note: we tried a few different routers from friends ect to make sure it wasnt there equpment fault we even installed and tried a aol broadband modem and nothing) I rang aol who told me to ring tiscali, tiscali couldn't give me any answers so i went back to aol who wernt any help at all. So i went to B.T who said they would clear the line then it would be ok which didn't work or they just didnt bother doing it. I rang aol tiscali and b.t countless! times so i gave up and just started using aol dial up which is free while customers are waitng to be connected to wireless. But im still in the wireless contract with them i don't know what to do i still have 6 months left in my wireless contact for something that doesn't even work and i am paying £15 per month. I wanted to go with a USB internet provider because i'm paying big line rental bills for our home phone every month also when we dont even need the land line. I really dont know what to do i'd rather just leave aol now so i can go with a usb provider and cancle our home line, any advice on what i can say to get out of this contract i have a good enough case against them dont i? because i know the call centre people are very frustrating when trying to get out of a contract my mum tried canceling an aol broadband service we had a few years ago before the contract ended and didnt get anywhere. This is so frustrating! moreTop Dsl And Broadband Providers Links
