alright this is a pretty noob question... im probably just making the answer much more complicated than it really is. say i go with hostgators baby plan: unlimited domains/disk space/bandwidth now does this mean that i can pick up some cheap .com's or .info's from whoever, change the nameservers, and voila - upload some html pages or whatever and im good to go!? or am i missing something here?!??! ive heard that hostgator hosting is the way to go or should i look into something else?! p.s. i don't care about mysql or any special jazz - im just looking to host some static pages. thanks. scott more

Hi, I like hostgator and they seem to be the most recommended out there. But I'd prefer to use a variety of hosting companies to build a network of websites. Most competitors I find that can compete with Hostgator want you to pay a setup fee or pay for a whole year or two of service. Any recommendations? Hello, I know this has been asked before, but I've searched many web sites and reviews and I'm still confused. So, I've narrowed it down to Hostmonster, Bluehost, and Lunarpages. I'm a pretty technical guy, but I'm looking for a reliable web host for multiple domains that some will use databases. I'm not so concerned about a "simple" web site creator, as opposed to one that follows the HTML & CSS standards. I was going to go with 1&1 after seeing their huge ads in PC Magazine until I read the reviews. Thus, I'm not so concerned about cheap, just a service that is reliable, professional, and popular. I have 2 small business websites at the moment...I pay $30 a year for each. They both started out with 50MB storage & 1000MB transfer. On one of them, I bought 50MB more storage. Domain was/is free. However, I am constantly having problems with them. The websites will go down during peak hours for no reason, mail service is sporadic, I have deleted 3/4 of my website because they say I keep going over my limit...this is on the 100MB one. I feel like I should look for a new one, but I really can't spend much more than $60 total a year for the two together. I know you can get multiple domains now under some hosting plans, but by the time you pay for the extra domains, it's not cheap anymore. Where can I find something reasonable? Having all the bells & whistles is not a priority, but would be nice. more
