I think that the "terms of use" are a little confusing. Do they really own all rights to the images? I wanted to know if it is legal to use some/parts of the images in art/objects to sell. Hi Amazon ebooks are not available in my country so the only way I can get them would be downloading them through a proxy onto my pc and then transferring them to the kindle. We also don't have credit cards here so I can't buy books. (Not that I would if I had one!) And we don't have 3G or Edge here either. BUT I can still convert and transfer PDF files to the kindle, and that's all I want from it. (There are thousands of pdf stories in the public domain right?) So, should I go ahead and buy a Kindle?? Is it worth it? I also have a few more questions: 1. Does Kindle 2 has wifi? (Not 3G or Edge) 2. Will I be able to convert pdf files using a computer program without any internet connection? Or do they need to be checked for DRM or something before I can transfer them? moreResolved Question: How to choose a free web hosting site for my domain?
After I paid for a domain from godaddy, I found out its web hosting prices were not good for me. I want one that is free. It's gonna be just a small personal website to publicize myself and no intention of business. There are so many of them out there. What should I look into to decide which one to choose? There are a few subquestions: Is it a common practise for free hosting site to charge for the domain transfer fee? Does free webhosting site provide support for the basic designing of my homepage? (I knew nothing about Microsoft Frontpage or Dreamweaver...) If I dislike it, is it possible for me to switch to other hosting sites without losing any of the content on my page? moreResolved Question: why answers.yahoo.com not opening in google chrome? some codes appears on the screen.?

Okay, maybe a webmaster with a little more experience can help me out here. I have been contracted to design a website for a client. She wants to maintain control over her domain name as she has had problems with a previous web designer going missing and her going through massive hassle to get her domain name back. 1) Can she register the domain, but I host it? 2) If so, how would this process work? I currently have XP with Outlook Express as my e-mail client. I purchased a new PC with Windows 7 and now have to transfer my e-mail to the new computer. Okay, first of all, I have the appropriate folders (addresses, e-mails) copied and on the desktop of the new PC ready to be transferred, that's not the problem. The problem is this. When you first set up Windows Live Mail, it asks if you already are signed up. I am, right? What about the password? I never had a password for OE as it was not web-based. Even though my e-mail address does not end with @live or @hotmail. My e-mail address was abc123@nbnet.nb.ca (not really, but domain is right), how will future e-mails get to me at this address? I have read all the forums, but not found what I am looking for. I think I need to be walked through this by someone who has done it before, not just someone who cuts and pastes an answer after googling it. moreVoting Question: GoDaddy sucks. How do I sell my domain?
I have a domain on godaddy that someone's interested in buying. I talked to godaddy and they want me to list it as a premium domain. I can do that, but they take 30% and I don't want them to, basically. The buyer doesn't want to just wire me the money and assume I'll unlock it and let it go, so what are my options? Should transfer to another register and then list it? I have register.com account - do they take a lower commission?Misc, that's a good idea, but they want to go through a 3rd party. It's a lot of money and we're on opposite sides of the world.Neither is my host. I talked to register and I can't sell through them. I think I'm going to sell through a domain escrow service.I have a domain on register.com and 2 domains on godaddy.com, 1 being the one I'm trying to sell. That's not really relevant though. moreResolved Question: How to transfer web hosting from vistaprint?
I have a website with Vistaprint, and I'd like to transfer it to a different host so I can build my own site. I want to keep my current domain name, so just getting a new domain name isn't an option. The problem is, the whois lists vistaprint as the owner, so I can't log in to tucows to change where the DNS points to. Vistaprint's customer service absolutely sucks and has been no help at all. Am I screwed here? moreVoting Question: I am transferring a couple domain registrations and the contact information is incorrect.?

I've already initiated the process of moving my domain names from one company to another, but it's said that it takes about 5 to 7 days and from what I've been able to find, that's standard. But why though? It's been a few days already (started the process on Sunday). I recall reading/hearing somewhere that it's not uncommon for it to take at least 5 days. Hi guys, a few years ago i registered with office live and they asked me what domain i wanted etc..... i chose a .com domain name if someone enters that url they get the crappy office live basic website i did in 2 mins when i registered. I have now had a site developed and is at the same address but the .co.uk (i.e. mycompanyname.com is on office live and mycompanyname.co.uk has a good site uploaded) i currently use office live for my email me@mycompanyname.com and access it just by signing into hotmail. I have alot of emails in there that are important and need to keep so i can't transfer my.com to a new host without loosing my email account (i think) So i would like to keep my office live account as it is but need the .com url to forward to my .co.uk url Please help! So far the only thing i have found is a code to enter into the search engine optimization tab of office live that lets people see the .com for 5 seconds and then changes to the .co.uk I need it to forward instantly just like it would if you forwarded a domain with your host / registration provider. Please help@ b - the address is not important. i do not use a co.uk email address, i use the .com address that is why i would like the good website viewable when people enter the .com address. The website was designed for the .com domain but it is just impossible to upload it to an office live server. My initial question is correct.@mike - i asked HOW to do it with a domain that is registered through office live. I am aware of what i would be able to do if i was able to point the nameservers at my hosting account. i would like to know how it is done. moreResolved Question: WHOIS data - Urgent!!?
I have just subscribe a web hosting service with free .com domain name. However, they put my real data inside. So, when ppl use WHOIS service to search for my domain, will see all of my details including name, address, hp number etc.. I ask them why, and they said I need to subscribe their Whois Protection Service which cost USD$6. I don't like to pay them any additional fees, becoz of their bad and rude service. Today when I login to my control panel, I suddenly found that actually I can change my WHOIS data directly from my control panel. So, my question is: Can I put fake data in? Is there any bad consequences? Will it causes my domain easily being transferred by unauthorised party? Please help...Thanks a lot!! moreVoting Question: how to find username@domain or Domain/username?
