Foreverfastlane.com is my website. The domain name was purchased through yahoo. The site is hosted by babyhosting.com I'm very angry with Yahoo right now, because they will not reverse a charge on a feature I did not want (OR EVER use.) I also found they marked up my domain price to $34 a year!!! They then tried to make it better by giving me the going rate of $9.95!! I'm sick of dealing with them, and wouldn't mind going with godaddy, because they are having a "domain transfer" sale, for 6.99 I'm just afraid it's going to mess with the website, because I don't know the technicalities of the transference. i'm not too familiar with the technical language of web hosting, i basically took over a website with zero knowledge and am trying to learn it as i go. basically the people who created the site originally paid for the space and url (domain name?) from www.combohost.net which if you go check out has completely disappeared at this point and so has my website. (yes i realized that i got screwed by the previous owners) when i look up the domain at whois.sc this is the information that i get http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v354/sanonomiko/webquestion.jpg is my fear correct that basically the people we paid to host are no longer around? i and some friends have tried to contact the company but with no luck. i've been trying to do some research and is my understand correct that since it says registrar status: clienttransferprohibited that i am not able to move the domain to a different server that can host my site? i don't know how who to contact to get the necessary codes to do intitate a transfer if thats even possible at this point i'm really at a lost as to what to do. from what i can tell at the rest of the whois information combohost.net registered the domain name at http://domain.bebest.net (it is a thai based site) and i dont have any member login information at all. am i basically at a lost at this point since i cannot get in contact with anyone? i would love to keep the original domain name but if i must switch it as a last resort then i guess that is what i would have to do but i wanted to make sure that i covered all the basis if my domain name is .com and no one else has it registered can i keep the same domain name but make it .net instead? or there any restrictions on that? moreResolved Question: Do I need to transfer the domain name?

There's this UK-based agency that helps international students in studying in the UK. I tried almost every way to verify the existence and legitimacy of that company. The company has its own website but according to those who answered my question here in the past, having a domain does not guarantee the legitimacy of the company. I got in touch with Companies House, domain providers, UK government agencies, and every institution that you can think of. My question is: what is the safest way to pay them so I can get my money back if I don't get the service they promised to give me? and why do you think it's safe? How about Paypal? Money transfer? Bank transfer? Western Union? what? And have you got any advice for me about paying? (No more verification, background checks and contacting UK authorities, please) Of course, it's a business and that is why it charges a fee for their service. And yes, I can do it myself if and only if I have enough money to fund my tuition fees. Unfortunately, I don't. The info they're going to give me is about financing my studies. Just please suggest a safe way of paying, a way to get my money back if ever it really is a scam. Can I get my money back if I paid through Paypal? The chance that the agency's a scammer is 50-50. So here's the short of it. A friend set up our website about 5 years ago, he put the domain name in his name and on his credit card. Now we are able to handle the site ourselves so I had him send me the Authorization Code, unlocked. He has been annoyed by this whole situation but we feel like we should have the domain in our own account and finally he sent us the Authorization Code. I go to transfer the domain and registrar is blocking the transfer. I have contacted itsyourdomain.com and they told me to email some other company, which I did. They responded that they have my complaint but that's it....no idea where I stand on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated! moreResolved Question: English natives! Does this texts need to be edited before publishing online? Thanks in advance?
Hi all, I want to set these texts as the title and description of my website pages for search engines. I don’t want to change them if they don’t include any grammatical errors. The keywords which are used are very very important to me, because people use them for finding the websites like mine. So I more prefer not to change them. I know using some of them is not correct from view point of “technical phrases”, such as “domain name generator”. But I want to use them because some beginners use them on the web. Just if there are any unusual sentences which seem wrong help me modify. Please take into consideration I have limitation in using the number of words! So don’t try to tell a story! Hope my text doesn’t need any major changes. I reside in the uk, and my products will be sold worldwide. Thank you very much. Regards Anita moreResolved Question: Question on: Domain Registration, Web Hosting, Redirecting Webpages, Domain Contracts, and More!?
Okay, this is a little long so bare with me. First of all I'm 15 and I thought it would be a good time register a few "MyName" domains because I'm going to be a successful entrepreneur [don't think I'm obnoxious, I'm just optimistic =D ] and the last thing I want is somebody impersonating me with MyName.com and to not be willing to sell the domain! And since the internet if of growing use, everybody should probably have a domain in their name. Anyhow, I just contacted the owner of MySurname.com and they said they wouldn't be prepared to sell, because they want to give it to their children or something. Which was kind of a b*tch because I was hoping for an Email address such as - "MyFisrtName@MySurname.com" But hey, I guess you can't have it all. And maybe I'll get it one day anyhow. But as odd as it may seem, I'd rather have MyFullName.com instead of just MySurname.com because it would be harder for people to find me! And it may look less formal. So now, there are a few things I wish to know. 1. What is the best/least expensive domain registration provider out there? Is there any sort of a comparison site or anything? I'm hoping to buy maybe 10 - 20 domain names. [MyName.com, MyName.net, MyName.info, etc.] So if the site has something for bulk registration discounts it would be good. 2. If I want to receive Emails at one of the domains - E.g. Darren@MyDomain.com - do I still have to pay for web hosting if I don't actually want a website, just to receive Emails? 3. If I DO have to pay for just receiving Emails on it, but not having a website; If I use Windows Live Admin Center to receive Emails from it do I still have to pay for web hosting? I use a lot of Windows Live Services on a daily basis. [Hotmail, MSN Messenger, Windows Live Mail] so I would like to use Admin Center anyway because I love all of Windows Live's features. 4. I'm not sure about redirecting webpages or anything but I've read it has something to do with the DNS Control Panel. So the question is: If I want to have all-but-one of the domains to redirect to the main webpage; do I have to pay for web-hosting on all of them to access the DNS Control Panel on all of them? Or can you make webpages redirect without having to pay for web-hosting on them? As in, does the DNS Control Panel come free with the domain? 5. When you register a domain with the "1 Year" thing written under it, is that a binding contract? For example, if you sign up for a 1 Year Domain package with provider X, can you transfer the domains to provider Y after a few months if they have a better price plan? Or must you stay with the first one for the full year? 6. If you are reading your Emails through Windows Live Admin Center does the Junk Mail filter still filter your mail for you or must you use a third party program? I can’t see why I wouldn’t; I just thought I’d throw that in. 7. Are there any countries that won’t let you use their domain extension unless you are a citizen? 8. Can you redirect any domain you own to any webpage? 9. So far I haven‘t found a domain registration provider that you can register ANY extension with, is there such a thing? I want to register some very uncommon extensions. That’s about all I can think of right now. I’m not actually expecting anybody to be able to answer ALL the questions, but if you can answer as many as possible and if possible PLEASE number your answers to my questions. Thanks a lot! =D moreTop Transfer Domain Name Links
