I purchased two domain names from Go Daddy an am forwarding them to another site. www.doit123.biz > www.doit.worldventures.biz www.donow123.com > www.doit.worldventures.biz For some reason IE will only allow these to forward under certain circumstances. FireFox for example will forward the domain name everytime! IE will not. WTF??? If I go to IE and type in the address it will not forward BUT if I open FireFox and go to the site in Fire Fox, then magically IE will also start forwarding the domain name. Some people with IE cannot access these domain names at times. Some can. Some can't and it's only with IE. It's pissing me off. Could IE the IE phising filter stop the forwarding? Is it possible that the Content filters may not like the "DOIT" in the name?Please stop telling to stop using IE. I paid for advertising with this website and some people who are using IE cannot access the website. Telling me to stop using IE is not solving my problem. more

I bought a .com domain name for my project and registered a company under the name. I then found a small company that uses the same name but under a .biz domain. The company does not use 'tm' symbols, and they are not a legal entity, they are DBA (doing business as). The domain name is not a common word, and can be trademarked. In fact, it was trademarked but canceled 10 years ago. Can I trademark the name now? I don't mind that small company using it. Also, can the company go after me for 'violating their' trademark? I'm running Small Biz Server 2003 w/Exchange 2003 at home. It's really just for practise/learning use. I can send emails from a client's Outlook 2007 inside the domain AND outside the domain successfully. However, I can't email any of my users from OUTSIDE my domain. If I send an email from my cox.net address and send it to user1@mydomain.com, user1 doesn't get the email. And, the cox.net address does NOT get an undeliverable. (It did get an undeliverable prior to me figuring out that I had to set up the MX record, which now makes sense to me.) It's almost as if the email is out in limbo somewhere......?? I bought my domain from mydomain.com and I set up my MX record there. I used servername.mydomain.com for the MX record. This is correct, right? Also, on Exchange, I have the smtp connector configured to, "Forward all mail through this connector to the following smart hosts" (smtp.east.cox.net) And finally, I have the properties of the POP3 connector Manager configured as follows: Email server: ns1.mydomain.com <---per www.mydomain.com's Web site....I think this is the correct entry that I am to put here, right?? Port: 110 User name: user1 password: ^^^^***** confirm password" ******* Mailbox type: User Mailbox Exchange Mailbox: User1 Why won't Exchange recieve emails?!?! Hi I've put alot of thought, time & effort into designing a really big user friendly, commercial website...I wont go into anymore detail because I'll be damned if anyone copys my idea! As far as finding a domain name, I can use my imagination & think of something new & obscure but it's always going to be less than ideal if it isn't obvious to general thought of others. Here in lies the problem, every & I mean every 'short/est phrase' directly relating to my business is taken. Now that's fair enough you might say, I don't have any more right than the next person. But what really annoys me is that every one of these ideal domains is occupied by a single .com page. They don't even bother claiming the rest i.e .net/org/info/biz...etc because simply by having the .com they'll have you held to ransom. & I wouldn't have a problem if they'd done this & designed a proper website but it's always a single f*****g page with poxy links that no one in their right mind would ever click & pay. Argghhh! The interenet is now a virtual world in iteslf & eventually there will be no good names left. In the real world I draw comparison to someone buying up the very best land on half the planet for a pittance, building uninhabitable s**t holes that people cant use & proceed to charge the earth if they ever felt inclined to build a house there! In the interest of free enterprise I don't think I can win this argument but it seems so bloody unfair (please don't tell me life is) p.s Merry Xmas everyone, I'm not normally this grumpy. :)Yes but the polar opposite is communism & that's no good either. :( more

A network has been set up and not by me I only have I have found 8 networks with large data being sent and recieved from my pc. I am trying to start a work-from-home biz and need to clarify a few things. I know I need a domain name. I don't know if I need to buy one, or if I can use a "free" one? I also know I need a web hosting service. I am aware of the many shortcomings of the free hosting srevices. I am asking if I can use my free domain name and a paid host? Or, what are the ramifications of mix-and-match? Should I just go ahead and bite the bullet and go for the paid host and buy the domain name?
