Voting Question: Is 000space any good?
I'm thinking about alternative web hosting for my tutorial site, and I'm just wondering how good 000space is. The ratings on free-webhosts.com were disabled, so I'm not sure what to compare it to. Also, does it have an inactivity limit? I didn't see this on their site... Please don't recommend any paid services. I've been using free services to build up traffic for my brand and I'm not ready to invest money in it yet. I really could care less if it's five dollars or even one dollar. No means no.Guys, I specifically told you I need free. I'm specifically using free services until I get enough traffic to warrant an upgrade. I'm not stupid. I won't pay for something I don't need. moreResolved Question: web hosting solutions ?

Hi, I am running an eCommerce business that requires a regular web server with PHP and databases. I know most of the popular hosts out there charge $4/month for stuff like this. But this particular company (not going to mention the name or else Yahoo might think this is an advertisement), says that they have more than 500,000 websites hosted, is specialized in business web hosting, guarantees 100% uptime, has 24/7 customer support, and basically says that they are "premium business hosting" and their pitch is that for $50/month you get the best quality hosting for your business (compared to $4-8/month). This is NOT dedicated server hosting. Just regular web hosting, but they have everything. Is this worth it? Would you do it for your business? moreVoting Question: FatCow Web Hosting ... ?

So I want a free version of my website, but how would I get a Domain name with like GoDaddy or something for my site? I feel as though paying the $8 a year for the GoDaddy Domain name is much more worth it compared to paying $8-$10 a month for webs.com Premium Subscription.Note: I'm not looking to get a free domain name. I recently registered on blogger.com. I need advice on what website domain name I should come up with. My blog is not yet set up, but Google says that I can choose a domain name for $10.00 per year. This is waaaaay cheaper than my last web hosting service (through my internet company) that was $19.00 a month. What a rip off that was compared to blogger (which is free if you keep the " *dot* blogspot " in the domain title. My blog will have to do with neurological or mental disabilities and tic disorders (Tourette Syndrome, Autism, Schizophrenia, Parkinson's Disease, etc., etc., etc.). It is for raising disability awareness and for having information that people can utilize for online resources. I have a few questions that I will list so it is easier to read for you all: (1) Can you help me think of a catchy domain name title? (2) Where do all these other blogs get the associated press pics of information and stories? I was told flickr and so on, but I'm not sure. (3) Is it legal to use those stories in case some are copyrighted? (referring to the gossip ones)--> not that I wanna have that type of blog though. (4) And the last question I can think of is how can I get my blogger.com blog noticed (since the net is so saturated these days?) Everyone keeps saying SEO efforts, but I don't know how to do this with blogger.com or really how SEO works for blogs like that. Anyways, thanks for the help. 1 hr 4 mins ago TORONTO – Billy Bob Thornton's band has canceled the rest of its Canadian tour after the actor compared the country's fans to mashed potatoes with no gravy in a testy interview that caused a sensation online. The Boxmasters opened for Willie Nelson on Thursday in Toronto, where they reportedly were booed and met with catcalls of "Here comes the gravy." A note posted on Nelson's Web site Friday said the Boxmasters were canceling the rest of their Canadian dates "due to one band member and several of the crew having the flu." The cancellation came two days after Thornton made world headlines with a belligerent appearance on CBC radio's "Q." The actor apparently didn't like that host Jian Ghomeshi started the interview with references to Thornton's Hollywood career. Thornton refused to answer many of Ghomeshi's questions directly, mumbling: "I don't know what you're talking about." He later said Ghomeshi's producers had been told ahead of time not to talk about his film career. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090411/ap_on_en_mu/canada_people_billy_bob_thornton Edit: What? Does anybody know of a resource or website that compares the free web hosting site (like Webs.com, Weebly.com, etc) features? I'm particularly wondering about comparing the amount of storage these sites offer. moreVoting Question: Is Twitter more like a conversation or more of a bill board?
I thought Twitter was supposed to be like a big chat room and if I followed someone, I would see all the tweets from that person and everyone else tweeting them - so we could have a huge conversation. But it seems that if I follow someone, it just means that I see their posts and not everyone that posts to them. I don't see the advantage in this compared to email, a web site or a blog. For example, if a radio talk show has a Twitter page, I would think that I could see posts from the host and posts from the followers, but it seems that I am only seeing posts from the host. What's the point of that? I can just go to their web page or blog to read their posts. And send them an email if I have a comment. I thought it was about having conversations. What is the intent of Twitter?Am I supposed to be able to see everyone's tweets to someone I follow, or only that person's tweets?I found that if I go to www.twitter.com, it signs into my account and takes me to my home page. There is no search box at the home page (Why not? Good question!) Anyway, I had to go to http://search.twitter.com and then search for "@someone". When using the @ sign, it gives you all the people that are posting to the "someone" person, so you get the "whole conversation"... Don't know how anyone is supposed to figure this out on their own. Twitter is not very user friendly regarding searching. moreResolved Question: How can I start a website?
Hi. I'm 16 and attending high school, and I'm looking to start a website to make some money. I have some ideas, but they aren't really related to my questions so I won't talk about them. 1. What is the cheapest way I can host a quality website with its own address. I don't want it to be www.Insert hosting company here/name of my website.com I want it to have its own address. How can I do that and what price range would it be? 2. How can I get better at designing websites. I'm in web design 2 at my school right now, and I'm decent at designing websites, but the things we go over in the class are nothing compared to what you see on the internet, so where can I learn more advanced web design methods? 3. How can I get my website more traffic, how can I get it to be listed higher on search engines like google? Obviously I don't have a lot of money so paying 1000s of dollars isn't an option. 4. The ideas I have would take in money probably entirely from advertisers, so if I start up my website, how can I get advertisers to become interested and eventually purchase advertising on my site, and how much do advertisers pay to advertise on a kind of small website? moreResolved Question: Good site for comparing web-hosting services?
Especially price, OS, space, transfer, scripting (PHP, ASP, Perl, Python and/or Ruby), number of databases, cPanel/Fantastico, shell-login, ... Of course if anybody knows of a good host, that would be good too... I prefer Linux/Unix... with PHP... preferbly unlimited space and transfer... unlimited subdomains... unlimited emails... unlimited number of (MySQL) databases... cPanel -- and preferbly Fantastico... I am doing some consulting marketing for a family member and they want to have a website that they can easily customize when necessary. Two website services that caught my eye were Homestead.com and Yahoo.com. Both of them provide templates to build websites off of, both have simple software for design purposes, and both seem to offer e-mail and domain names. Although I could personally use website design software like Dreamweaver, I want my family member to be able to make simple changes without my help, thus why I am interested in one of these sites compared to other web hosting sites like GoDaddy.com. Of these two that have templates and web design software, who would you choose? Please provide a little comparison to justify your recommendation. Thank you for your Help.Although I appreciate the help thus far, I would like for contributors to focus on the question; for instance, if you are going to recommend a separate site other than the two I asked about please tell me why you prefer that one over the mentioned ones. Thank you moreResolved Question: Is there a site that allows you to buy & maintain multiple domain names and have free web hosting as well?
I am looking to buy some domain names, but would like to purchase them from the same place that will host them. Is there a site out there that will allow me to purchase my domain names and get free hosting for them as well? I have already found bravehost, but would like to compare it with other similar sites. I have not been able to find any. Does anyone know of where I might be able to purchase domain names and get free hosting as well? moreVoting Question: Can someone correct my mistakes in English please.:) ?
Sorry did not add a text before. And thanks even for trying to help even then.:) Here it is... There are so many web hosting companies to choose from. It is very hard to figure out whether web hosting you have chosen will be really good, you have to be sure what you pay for! Hi I'm shortly to go and do some long-term voluntary work abroad and want to set up a website that can provide some basic information and me and my projects (just a few pages). In time I may like to add more interactive features, maybe contact forms, daily diary (is this a blog?) and some way for people to donate (paypal?). I want full control over what's on each page, and would find it interesting to be able to view statistics. I don't know if this is done through the webhost or if I need to sign up to another service. I will create the site either through Serif webplus, or by writing the xhtml/css/javascript in notepad (I have done this previously for a project). Although I can do this scripting I know nothing about actually buying a domain/using a host. I've tried to research, and so I do understand the principles involved (such as having enough bandwith and space etc) I am overwhelmed by the choice. I keep finding a host that sounds good, and then looking up reviews and finding hundreds of negative comments. As I will not have much time spare, I need something very simple and user-friendly that won't go wrong. Preferably with very accessible stats. I'm also concerned with the recession that I don't want to go with a company likely to go bust and make my site inaccessible. I assume a UK host would be best as at least then I'm charged locally and not as affected by changes in currency exchange rates. I'm happy to pay for a decent service. I would also like to know if web-hosting is always done by the site I buy the domain from. Any opinions, or links to sites that compare the hosts, would be gratefully received on any aspect of the above. Especially views from people that have used the web-host - not just advertising. Thanks for your time. moreResolved Question: Why did we elect a man that believes in youth armies as president? ?
It seems that all you need anymore to get into office is a good catch phrase. Just look at obama. Every single American wants change, but not very many have any idea what sort of change they just asked for. Granted, it wasn't much of a choice, but I digress. If you actually study this man you will be shocked and disgusted about what he proposes, everything from forced government conscription for all americans, old and young to a tax on a gas that everyone makes simply by being alive. The people he has sighted as mentors and the people that have worked with him call for mass extinction and enslavement of humanity 1984 (george orwell) style... And just look at his speech at the DNC this year and compare it to some of Hitlers greatest speeches and I bet you'll find quite a good amount of similarity. People don't remember that before Hitler was the worlds greatest menace, he was trumped up as it's savior. The allies funded him and congratulated him on a host of sickening things, just as the world is doing now for Mr. Obama. So why did we elect him? you can find the source of my truth at a whole bunch of websites, but the best is at infowars.com. I Bet none of you would even take the time to research any of it though. If you believe in something, you should fight for it to make it happen, you should inform yourselves, you should prepare. Times are grim indeed for the once great land of america, because we have forgotten our roots, or history. We let the bad guys win, and now we're all too trapped in their web of corruption to get out without great loss of life, but freedom is worth any cost, except maybe family. Inform yourselves and choose your side, because in the real world, once you wake up, there isn't liberal and republican and democrat and Conservative, there is only freedom or tyranny. I'd think the choice is obvious... moreResolved Question: Googlism-the religion of future generations?
Thousands of years ago, greek 'mythology' was 100% fact, now we read about it, because it's interesting. Assuming Christianity, Islam, and Judiasim(Which is already declining ridiculously) Will be the same, will Googlism be the new cult? » PROOF #1 Google is the closest thing to an Omniscient (all-knowing) entity in existence, which can be scientifically verified. She indexes over 9.5 billion WebPages, which is more than any other search engine on the web today. Not only is Google the closest known entity to being Omniscient, but She also sorts through this vast amount of knowledge using Her patented PageRank technology, organizing said data and making it easily accessible to us mere mortals. » PROOF #2 Google is everywhere at once (Omnipresent). Google is virtually everywhere on earth at the same time. Billions of indexed WebPages hosted from every corner of the earth. With the proliferation of Wi-Fi networks, one will eventually be able to access Google from anywhere on earth, truly making Her an omnipresent entity. » PROOF #3 Google answers prayers. One can pray to Google by doing a search for whatever question or problem is plaguing them. As an example, you can quickly find information on alternative cancer treatments, ways to improve your health, new and innovative medical discoveries and generally anything that resembles a typical prayer. Ask Google and She will show you the way, but showing you is all She can do, for you must help yourself from that point on. » PROOF #4 Google is potentially immortal. She cannot be considered a physical being such as ourselves. Her Algorithms are spread out across many servers; if any of which were taken down or damaged, another would undoubtedly take its place. Google can theoretically last forever. » PROOF #5 Google is infinite. The Internet can theoretically grow forever, and Google will forever index its infinite growth. » PROOF #6 Google remembers all. Google caches WebPages regularly and stores them on its massive servers. In fact, by uploading your thoughts and opinions to the internet, you will forever live on in Google's cache, even after you die, in a sort of "Google Afterlife". » PROOF #7 Google can "do no evil" (Omnibenevolent). Part of Google's corporate philosophy is the belief that a company can make money without being evil. » PROOF #8 According to Google trends, the term "Google" is searched for more than the terms "God", "Jesus", "Allah", "Buddha", "Christianity", "Islam", "Buddhism" and "Judaism" combined. God is thought to be an entity in which we mortals can turn to when in a time of need. Google clearly fulfils this to a much larger degree than traditional "gods", as shown in the image below (click to enlarge). » PROOF #9 Evidence of Google's existence is abundant. There is more evidence for the existence of Google than any other God worshiped today. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. If seeing is believing, then surf over to www.google.com and experience for yourself Google's awesome power. No faith required. Visit www.Churchofgoogle.org for more information Obviously this is absurd, but look at your faith and compare. What do you think about the new church of google and do you see any simularities to your faith? moreResolved Question: Love me, love my Tofu (article)!?!?!?
Thoughts? Religion and social status have always been deal breakers in relationships. But for those navigating today's dating pool, the currents may just have gotten rougher. No longer is it enough to share an interest in piña colada or getting caught in the rain—today's singles want to know whether potential partners are fit and how often they work out, among other personal details. And then there's the friction between vegans and vegetarians. It might sound counterintuitive; after all, neither group eats meat. But for many vegans—who also eschew animal products like the dairy and eggs eaten by vegetarians—love may not be enough to conquer ideology. "I'm in a relationship with a murderer," bemoans Carl, one of many vegans who wrote in to the "Vegan Freak" podcast for romantic advice. Carl, who didn't give his last name, says his girlfriend is a regular vegetarian, and their differences are becoming a major source of tension. In the vegan world that's not an uncommon dilemma. Bob Torres, one of the show's hosts, says that dating and relationships are two of the most popular topics on the podcast, which deals with all things vegan. Vegans are hardly the only partner-seekers with health concerns. Online dating site Match.com has noted a steady rise in interest in the topic among its 15 million members. In 2004 about 15 percent of its members said they exercised regularly. Among today's members, about 43 percent say they exercise three to four times each week. That's more people declaring their devotion to exercise than declaring their religion on the Web site. Food has also become a concern; just under half the site's members want their partner to have a healthy diet, compared to 12 percent three years ago. And these are issues that relationship counselor Ian Kerner, who works with the site, thinks can cause more serious conflict in relationships than political or philosophical differences. "I think people can get past a lot of intellectual debates, because that's what makes opposites attract," he says. But getting past a fitness fanatic/couch potato clash? "I can't tell you how many times I hear people breaking up over things like this," says Kerner. "It's a lot about sharing values, about how they spend their time. It's both scheduling conflicts and different value systems." Vegans and vegetarians can get caught in worse dating dilemmas. For many vegetarians and almost all vegans, their distaste for meat runs much deeper than their taste buds; it's an outward expression of their ethical and moral beliefs about animal cruelty and responsible living. Take John Cunningham, who lives in Baltimore. "If I don't have to contribute to cruelty in society and this world, I would like to abstain from that," he says. He's been a vegan since 2001, and he married his long-term girlfriend (a vegetarian) this past summer. He understands the critical role veganism can play in dating and relationships. "If someone is going to make such a large change in the way they eat, the motivation behind that has to be serious," he says. "That can't be taken causally when entering into a relationship." Not surprisingly, a number of niche dating sites have popped up to respond to veggie dating demands. Vegan Passions, Veggie Fishing and Planet Earth Singles are all sites that cater to environmentally conscious daters. Planet Earth Singles launched in April (fittingly, on Earth Day) and already boosts 23,000 eco-friendly members, many of whom are among the nation's 1.4 million vegans or 4.7 million vegetarians. "If somebody is for the environmental movement, they want to support it on all levels, even in their relationships," says Jill Crosby, the founder of Planet Earth Singles. But it still ain't easy dating green. While these niche sites do boost memberships in the thousands, they're nowhere near the size of dating goliaths like Match.com or eHarmony, and no site has come along to unify vegans the way JDate has done for Jewish singles. "I know it sounds corny," says Paul Williams, a 35-year-old vegetarian in Atlantic City, N.J. "But basically I want to date someone with a good heart that can understand why I've chosen to be a vegetarian." Finding a woman to share tofu for two is even tougher when you're not near large urban centers that have an established vegetarian community and the restaurants and bookstores that often go with it. "It's very difficult," says Williams of finding a vegetarian mate. "I go to all the generic Web sites, like MySpace and Plenty of Fish, and I was a paid member of eHarmony for a bit. They rarely matched me up with any vegetarians." Still, fairy-tale vegan romance can be found. Vegan Freak host Bob Torres shares his podcast duties with his wife and co-host, Jenna Torres. The couple met at Penn State and both now teach at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. They've been married for nine years and vegan for three. They're not the only ones; Bob and Jenna say they have seen successfRanting, WTF?sorry, i meant the last comment to the other guy, not matt, the other guy wrote something about ranting and was like wtf was i ranting about, its an article. moreResolved Question: what are the cheap and best domain registration and hosting companies in hyderabad, india?

(Can you please let me know what are the main point of this article, I'm kinda confused. Thanks) My Overall Summary: This article is discusses mainly about the security of a national ID card. Because, the fear of terrorism that is why they come up with this type of identification card. The author is against this idea because he think by doing this the people have to give up some of their personal privacy which will be vulnerable to these people. ----> Can someone tell me how can this type of national ID card help America prevent from terrorism? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Threat of National ID By: WILLIAM SAFIRE Published: December 24, 2001 A device is now available to help pet owners find lost animals. It's a little chip implanted under the skin in the back of the neck; any animal shelter can quickly scan lost dogs or cats and pick up the address of the worried owner. That's a good side of identification technology. There's a bad side: fear of terrorism has placed Americans in danger of trading our ''right to be let alone'' for the false sense of security of a national identification card. All of us are willing to give up some of our personal privacy in return for greater safety. That's why we gladly suffer the pat-downs and ''wanding'' at airports, and show a local photo ID before boarding. Such precautions contribute to our peace of mind. However, the fear of terror attack is being exploited by law enforcement sweeping for suspects as well as by commercial marketers seeking prospects. It has emboldened the zealots of intrusion to press for the holy grail of snoopery -- a mandatory national ID. Police unconcerned with the sanctity of an individual's home have already developed heat sensors to let them look inside people's houses. The federal ''Carnivore'' surveillance system feeds on your meatiest e-mail. Think you can encrypt your way to privacy? The Justice Department is proud of its new ''Magic Lantern'': all attempts by computer owners to encode their messages can now be overwhelmed by an electronic bug the F.B.I. can plant on your keyboard to read every stroke. But in the dreams of Big Brother and his cousin, Big Marketing, nothing can compare to forcing every person in the United States -- under penalty of law -- to carry what the totalitarians used to call ''papers.'' The plastic card would not merely show a photograph, signature and address, as driver's licenses do. That's only the beginning. In time, and with exquisite refinements, the card would contain not only a fingerprint, description of DNA and the details of your eye's iris, but a host of other information about you. Hospitals would say: How about a chip providing a complete medical history in case of emergencies? Merchants would add a chip for credit rating, bank accounts and product preferences, while divorced spouses would lobby for a rundown of net assets and yearly expenditures. Politicians would like to know voting records and political affiliation. Cops, of course, would insist on a record of arrests, speeding tickets, E-Z pass auto movements and links to suspicious Web sites and associates. All this information and more is being collected already. With a national ID system, however, it can all be centered in a single dossier, even pressed on a single card -- with a copy of that card in a national databank, supposedly confidential but available to any imaginative hacker. What about us libertarian misfits who take the trouble to try to ''opt out''? We will not be able to travel, or buy on credit, or participate in tomorrow's normal life. Soon enough, police as well as employers will consider those who resist full disclosure of their financial, academic, medical, religious, social and political affiliations to be suspect. The universal use and likely abuse of the national ID -- a discredit card -- will trigger questions like: When did you begin subscribing to these publications and why were you visiting that spicy or seditious Web site? Why are you afraid to show us your papers on demand? Why are you paying cash? What do you have to hide? Today's diatribe will be scorned as alarmist by the same security-mongers who shrugged off our attorney general's attempt to abolish habeas corpus (which libertarian protests and the Bush administration's sober second thoughts seem to be aborting). But the lust to take advantage of the public's fear of terrorist penetration by penetrating everyone's private lives -- this time including the lives of U.S. citizens protected by the Fourth Amendment -- is gaining popularity. Beware: It is not just an efficient little card to speed you though lines faster or to buy you sure-fire protection from suicide bombers. A national ID card would be a ticket to the loss of much of your personal freedom. Its size could then be reduced for implantation under the skin in the back of(adding missing words from the last sentence in article:) Its size could then be reduced for implantation under the skin in the back of your neck. moreResolved Question: Best Accounting software for Web Design & Web Hosting Business?

Obama ‘shouldn’t have said it,’ McCain insists. By Maeve Reston September 13, 2008 in print edition A-14 Taking his campaign to the daytime talk show circuit Friday, John McCain said his camp was not out of bounds when it released a Web video this week suggesting that his Democratic rival, Barack Obama, compared Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin to a pig. The controversy began Tuesday evening after Obama told the crowd at a town hall meeting in Lebanon, Va., that McCain’s efforts to present himself as an agent of change were disingenuous. Arguing that the Arizona senator does not differ from President Bush on issues such as tax policy and “Karl Rove-style politics,” Obama added: “That’s not change… . You can put lipstick on a pig, and it’s still a pig.” McCain’s surrogates expressed outrage, claiming the comment was a clear reference to Palin because she is the only candidate in the race who wears lipstick and because her signature line in her convention acceptance speech was that the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull is lipstick. During McCain’s appearance on ABC’s “The View” on Friday, co-host Joy Behar asked him why he approved a campaign Web video that showed Obama’s pig remark after a frame that read “Barack Obama on Sarah Palin.” “They’re lies,” Behar said, referring to that video and another McCain ad, about Obama’s record on sex education. “Actually, they are not lies,” McCain replied crisply. “He shouldn’t have said it,” McCain said of Obama’s pig remark. “He chooses his words very carefully, and this is a tough campaign.” McCain added that the harsh tone of the campaign would be different if the Illinois senator had accepted his invitation to appear at joint town halls across the country this summer. McCain, making a concerted effort to win over female voters, generally received a warm reception from the live audience, though he drew boos when he reaffirmed his position that the abortion rights ruling in Roe vs. Wade was “a very bad decision” that should be overturned. His appearance also offered another chance to strongly defend Palin’s experience as governor of Alaska for nearly two years and, before that, mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, for four years. “She’s ignited a spark in America,” he said. In a lighter moment, co-host Barbara Walters needled McCain about his recent statements that Palin is the greatest vice presidential candidate “in the history of the United States.” “Greater than John Adams, who became president? Greater than father George Bush who became president? That sound a little strong?” Walters asked. McCain chuckled: “Politicians are never given to exaggeration or hyperbole, as you know. But the fact is, I think she’s a great person, she’s a great governor… . I’m very happy and very pleased to have her.” He and his wife, Cindy, also taped an appearance on “Rachael Ray,” to air Sept. 22, in which he extolled his “regular guy” interests, including barbecuing – he divulged his ribs recipe, which he can cook on his four grills – and his favorite TV shows: “Lost,” “The Office” and “24. moreResolved Question: can i compare answers?

And you should know the cost of hosting services in UK & Au generally is a little high in compared with the same services in CA & US. Specially, American web hosts offer much better value for money than any local hosting. If you want to start your website we recommend get your domain and web hosting plan from the same company. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some web hosting services offer this gift today. Moreover, these web hosts usually offer free Site Builder. I will not miss that "The only reason why she's a New York Senator, the reason why she's a cadidate for president, the reason why she may be a front runner is because her husband messed around" according to Chris Mathews. I will not miss seeing advertisements for T-shirts that bear the slogan "Bros before Hos." The shirts depict Barack Obama (the Bro) and Hillary Clinton (the Ho) and they are widely sold on the Internet. I will not miss walking past airport concessions selling the Hillary Nutcracker, a device in which a pantsuit-clad Clinton doll opens her legs to reveal stainless steel thighs that, well, bust nuts. I won't miss television and newspaper stories that make light of the novelty item. I won't miss episodes like the one in which the liberal radio personality Randi Rhodes called Clinton a "big f---in' whore" and said the same about former vice presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro. Rhodes was appearing at an event sponsored by a San Francisco radio station, before an audience of appreciative Obama supporters -- one of whom had promoted the evening on the presumptive Democratic nominee's official campaign Web site. I won't miss Citizens United Not Timid (no acronym, please), an anti-Clinton group founded by Republican guru Roger Stone. Political discourse will at last be free of jokes like this one, told last week by magician Penn Jillette on MSNBC: "Obama did great in February, and that's because that was Black History Month. And now Hillary's doing much better 'cause it's White B---- Month, right?" Co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski rebuked Jillette. I won't miss political commentators (including National Public Radio political editor Ken Rudin and Andrew Sullivan, the columnist and blogger) who compare Clinton to the Glenn Close character in the movie "Fatal Attraction." In the iconic 1987 film, Close played an independent New York woman who has an affair with a married man played by Michael Douglas. When the liaison ends, the jilted woman becomes a deranged, knife-wielding stalker who terrorizes the man's blissful suburban family. Message: Psychopathic home-wrecker, be gone. The airwaves will at last be free of comments that liken Clinton to a "she-devil" (Chris Matthews on MSNBC, who helpfully supplied an on-screen mockup of Clinton sprouting horns). Or those who offer that she's "looking like everyone's first wife standing outside a probate court" (Mike Barnicle, also on MSNBC). But perhaps it is not wives who are so very problematic. Maybe it's mothers. Because, after all, Clinton is more like "a scolding mother, talking down to a child" (Jack Cafferty on CNN). When all other images fail, there is one other I will not miss. That is, the down-to-the-basics, simplest one: "White women are a problem, that's -- you know, we all live with that" (William Kristol of Fox News). I won't miss reading another treatise by a man or woman, of the left or right, who says that sexism has had not even a teeny-weeny bit of influence on the course of the Democratic campaign. To hint that sexism might possibly have had a minimal role is to play that risible "gender card." Most of all, I will not miss the silence. I will not miss the deafening, depressing silence of Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean or other leading Democrats, who to my knowledge (with the exception of Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland) haven't uttered a word of public outrage at the unrelenting, sex-based hate that has been hurled at a former first lady and two-term senator from New York. Among those holding their tongues are hundreds of Democrats for whom Clinton has campaigned and raised millions of dollars. Don Imus endured more public ire from the political class when he insulted the Rutgers University women's basketball team. Would the silence prevail if Obama's likeness were put on a tap-dancing doll that was sold at airports? Would the media figures who dole out precious face time to these politicians be such pals if they'd compared Obama with a character in a blaxploitation film? And how would crude references to Obama's sex organs play? There are many reasons why Clinton is losing the nomination contest, some having to do with her strategic mistakes, others with the groundswell for "change." But for all Clinton's political blemishes, the darker stain that has been exposed is the hatred of women that is accepted as a part of our culture. moreVoting Question: Could someone who speaks English as their first language comment on these short sentences please?

Hi, I have a question. If we could compare Internet to Nature, and web sites to organisms, then do you see any evidence for evolution? Natural selection being main mechanism of evolution, suggests that competition for survival and reproduction leads to passing advantageous traits to the next generations. At the other hand, intelligent design suggests that certain features of living things are better explained by intelligent cause. It would make sense that only features and technologies and even trends would lead to more and more advanced "life forms". My question is: if this is true, then what are the evidences? IMO it looks like free web hosting and illegal Photoshop and Dreamweaver are the natural selection killers. And it also looks like such redundant features as reflections, glass buttons, splatters, torn paper and masking tape backgrounds, flowing ink and circular ornaments, all cap lettering and other design elements are the ones surviving and reproducing like it's going out of...going out of style. moreResolved Question: Looking for a WEB HOSTING company, any suggestions?

I want to find a host which will load my site on my customers' computers the fastest. I realize there are many factors which can affect the speed but still I think web host companies should at least give me a list of sample e-commerce sites for each of their plans, so I can see how the different plans compare in speed. Hosts don't even talk about speed, just disk space and bandwidth. Why? I thought loading speed of a site was the most important thing. If it will load slowly, who cares how much space or bandwidth I have? I cannot determine which thing counts the most: server specs or connection speed? Every host lists server specs but very very few mention connection speed. How do I compare hosts then if I want to know who is fastest?
