I am wanting to bridge two of my computers so I can have one host a dedicated server for a game. The one that would host the server does not have a wireless network card, but my other computer does. We have a wireless network in our house, and I am not willing to go to the trouble of wiring my computer to our router that is far away from my computer. Resolved Question: I'm unable to open my NAT?

I'm trying to open my NAT but am having a lot of trouble. The router that I have is a Linksys WGC200-CC. It says linksys but it's a comcast router. Anyway, with Comcast's great router page, I can change my wireless password, forward ports, and put computers in the DMZ. That's all I can do. I usually have my Xbox in the DMZ (for obvius reasons). Otherwise I can't connect to anybody and my NAT comes up as 'Strict'. So when I went to play MW2 on Pc my NAT showed up as strict. In the past I was able to add my PC into the DMZ and that would eliminate the issue. However, when I tried that this time, it didn't work. I've also restarted my router and PC multiple times. When I move my pc into the DMZ on my xbox it will say my NAT is Strict unless I restart my modem and put my xbox back into the DMZ. I have tried port forwarding, followed multiple guides (one from that website with the port program) but still cannot get my NAT to open. The main reason I want my NAt to be open is because currently we can access the console and basically host dedicated servers from our own PC. But you can't pull host w/o an open NAT. If anybody knows how I can fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated!In my router page (it's different since it's a comcast device) there is no security tab, nor is their a gaming tab. I do not have the ability to change my MTU. I tried forwarding the ports that needed to be fowarded and still nothing.in the mw2 console I also get this message even when I've tried about 10 different things: Found no UPNP devices to query more

I could check the HTTP request header and see by which domain name am I being called, then respond accordingly. I have many friends that play StarCraft (Not SC II), and I like to host many StarCraft LAN parties at my house. When we LAN, we usually connect about 5/6 total computers to my Linksys router. The game is usually hosted on one of the laptops or computers. This creates some lag because the computer is playing too. The highest end machine in the house is mine, and the specs are below. I've had multiple people view my screen and are shocked because they simply cannot find WHY no one can connect. Could it be my modem? Could my ISP be blocking that type of hosting? What options besides my computer and router would block port forwarding or other people to be able to connect to my computer? PLEASE HELP. more

Okay, so in my BCA (Business Computing Class) We are learning HTML/XHTML/CSS/PHP and so on.. What i would like to know is how i could configure a dedicated computer to be able to serve as a server and have multiple FTP accounts to have access to so students can upload their files and learn server basics with CHMOD and MySql databases and so on. We have multiple computers, all which are connected to the same Workgroup. What i would like to know is how to set up this server and have all the major components as a hosting site, but which i can use privately just for that class.. kind of like a localhost site. hi i recently paid for a hosting a domain, now i have my website. I uploaded my files on it. it works nice. BUT, i have a php code, it uses proxies to reach special files on other website, to transfer them to my website. and it doesn't work :( i am sure about the code. is there any firewall on my server that denies using ports other than 80? what can i do about it? please help me by the way i don't want to buy any expensive dedicated server.thanks for your answer, i am going to include more details here: 1- i want to transfer files (like .doc) from a website (let's call it A) to my website (let's call it A). so we want to transfere files from A to B. 2- A, will give access if and only if "the request is received from 3128 port number". 3- So, the only way for B to transfer files is to send a request to A, from port 3128. my question is if my Server Admin has blocked the 3128 port, can i do anything? by the way, my code is working well, when i don't set any proxy for request, it works, but when i set a proxy for it, the connection fails. more

Hi, i want to host my own server for gaming and website FTP access etc. I have a 50mg Connection but my ISP wont give me a static IP and it changes sometimes monthly sometimes 3 or 4 months go by and its the same.. With my router's"DDNS Service" option, is there anyway in which i can purchase a URL to assign as my IP to show as a host and link my router/server to it? thanks Stuart more
