Hi guys, a few years ago i registered with office live and they asked me what domain i wanted etc..... i chose a .com domain name if someone enters that url they get the crappy office live basic website i did in 2 mins when i registered. I have now had a site developed and is at the same address but the .co.uk (i.e. mycompanyname.com is on office live and mycompanyname.co.uk has a good site uploaded) i currently use office live for my email me@mycompanyname.com and access it just by signing into hotmail. I have alot of emails in there that are important and need to keep so i can't transfer my.com to a new host without loosing my email account (i think) So i would like to keep my office live account as it is but need the .com url to forward to my .co.uk url Please help! So far the only thing i have found is a code to enter into the search engine optimization tab of office live that lets people see the .com for 5 seconds and then changes to the .co.uk I need it to forward instantly just like it would if you forwarded a domain with your host / registration provider. Please help@ b - the address is not important. i do not use a co.uk email address, i use the .com address that is why i would like the good website viewable when people enter the .com address. The website was designed for the .com domain but it is just impossible to upload it to an office live server. I have tried so far to delete all programs potentially harmful to my computer, I closed all process trees in the Windows task manager under iexplorer and dvm just in case and I scanned my computer with windows defender as well as made sure my firewall was up... but I'm still being redirected everything seems normal and I also deleted all cookies, information I've put in forms, browsing history... everything....! but I'M STILL BEING REDIRECTED... I can go to any other website and when I type in the website address I get redirected toooo, it goes to the normal website...its ONLY BANANAS. I can still search bananas by going to google.com and searching it... but I dont want this to be potentially harmful to my computer... I'm pretty sure its the ad thing... also I tried going to eltpath.com (the first part of the url next to redirection path in my suggestions) but it just stays blank... previously my computer was, as told by my cousin almost hacked... what happened was there was a box saying that another computer had the same IP adress as mine and all the windows of internet explorer I had open said ([{This site has been closed to try and protect your computer etc..}]), I again closed all process trees under iexplorer and dvm, and closed all windows...Just thought I might add that.. also I get my internet connection from a Linksys connected to my desktop computer, its a really old computer and runs EXTREMELY slow but still works if you've got patience and its okay with viruses and whatnot its just I've used up to much memory on it also my brother's laptop is as well connected to the internet by the linksys...WHAT CAN I POSSIBLY DO TO STOP IT FROM REDIRECTING AND SAVE MY LAPTOP FROM HARM>.< pleaseee I'll love you forever... Let me try to explain. I purchased a domain through Google Apps and chose Godaddy as the domain registration partner. Now when I did this I assumed that I would design my own web site and host them through Godaddy but it seems that Google Sites is where its designed and hosted. I still want to use all Google's services like the start page, mail, calendar etc, but I want to have a shopping site at the main url. Right now it brings up what Google Sites has designed. Is there a way to set this up so I can prefferable host through Hostgator but use all the Google services? I would like main domain like www.site.com to be store of business. Hi, I'm quite experienced at installing websites forums etc, but only to a certain level. Am accustomed to free hosting where I don't have access to anything before htdocs. Now I've just upgraded one account because I need to upload a script which requires full access to root. Now thisscript I'm installing is complex and it doesn't help that I have two sets of instructions for it, but I finally got it to install. However it doesn't work correctly. The instructions are to upload one set of files to cgi bin and another set to publichtml. A third set of modules also go up but one set of instructions says to publichtml and the other says to create a separate folder for them. Uploading to public html has allowed me to go through the install process but my home page is (eg)http://www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/name/name.cgi When I go to log in or register I get a page not found error, and noticed that by hovering my mouse over the links, the url is revealed bottom left of my screen and this url shows the register path as http://mysite.com/register which is wrong, if i put http://www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/name/register I get the registration page. I need to know what exactly is a cgi folder, where should it be located in respect to public_html and how do I get the home page at my exact url? (eg http://www.mysite.com) I 've followed the instructions precisely, altering them in places after failures but according to the second set of instructions, but I'm wondering if my cgi-bin is in the wrong place, inside public_html ? more
