My friend bought a domain and wants to "host" me on it, but he doesn't want me to be able to access his information, but the login to the FTP is the site url and password, so that kind of defeats the purpose of me not being able to access the website that stores all the billing information, etcetc. SO, I guess what I'm asking is, how can he host me (www.etcetc.org/namehere) on his site without me having his login info? An antique store that i work for is wanting to put a lot of their antiques online just to have another venue for selling. I bought my domain in late November of 2008. It worked pretty well, but the last few weeks of the year there were a few days where I would type in my domain, and it would say "Address Not Found". Basically my crappy host finally completely crashed completely. I haven't been able to see my site, log-in to cpanel, or use ftp for 2 and a half strait days. (That may not seem a long time for a lot of people but my site is my blog AND my online business.) I already paid my host for a year of service and domain hosting for a year and they're gone so I can't communicate with them. Is there any way of I can transfer my domain to another host anyway. Question 1 Alright, so I'm trying to host a website for a neopets help site. Alrighty, say I want to host a website, and I've done this before, and I had a domain name. It was just a domain name, whenever you clicked on a link on the website, the domain name stays the same. I was wondering if my domain name needs to be hosted at a hosting company for domain forwarding to work. I'll start from the begginning... I bought my domain name from a company that bought the domain from another company (Netearthone). At the time, I also hosted my website with the hosting company that I bought the domain from (Hostchum.com). Recently, I decided to host my site on my own server...ran at my home premises. At first I used my IP to gain access to the website (being hosted on my server), but then swtiched to a dynamic dns service (dyndns.com) - so my site could be accessed from http://evans6273.homeip.net/ . However, I also have my domain name - buttnuggets.co.uk, so I needed to get my domain named forwarded to my free dyndns domain. I bought domain forwarding off HostChum.com so that buttnuggets.co.uk forwards to evans6273.homeip.net : but it will not work. My domain name is currently not being hosted anywhere. Yes, I bought it - but Netearthone (the domain provider to HostChum) is not hosting it ( I dont think). Does my domain name need to be parked somewhere for the domain forwarding to work ? e.g. - hostchum need to park my domain onto their cPanel on their servers ? Please help a.s.a.p more

I only want to know about one name so I don't want to pay the high fees at domain tools. I don't mind paying to look up the history for the one search but i do not want to pay the monthy fee that domain tools charges just for this one time use and thier free trail doesn't let you see history. Webarchives just shows old webpages it does not give any info on past whois history. Hosterstats gives hosting history not whois history. Whois gives current owner not past domain owners. I like to host my eBay images on my own site. I have Hotlink Protection enables so not just any site can link to my images, but I'd like eBay to access them so that they show up in my own listings. So far I have the following domains listed: ebay.com www.ebay.com cgi.ebay.com I'm pretty sure there are some others used for listing, and I'd like to list those as exceptions to the hotlink protection, too, so that my listings don't have broken image links.
