I've wanted to know this for a long time, I'm a web-developer and I know a bit of python and want to use python to create some programs. What I really need to know is, is there a simple way to create something similar to an Iframe(HTML) but in python. It was planned that the address should be linked in two different ways between my computer and the website: 1. Today I was talking with the girlfriend of my my cousin, she works in a hospital, she told me that the hospital has contacted a professional web designing company in order in order to update the website because it's too old, she told me that the web designing company want 13k which is just a little bit expensive :) I know how to create a website, I have 1 under construction and I will build 2 in the near future, so she asked me if I can design a website, I told her yes, I can, she asked about the cost, I said that it's nothing, it's less than 1$ a month, because I can host it for free, and godaddy take about 12 $, but I thought that she want a personal website, I didn't know that she was asking me to update the website of the hospital:) So I was very polite and told her that it's free :P because I didn't want to take from her 1 $ a month :D And after a while, I understood that the website belongs to a hospital and that hospital has already registered a domain name, and I was shocked when she said that the hospital was going to pay 13 k to just update the website, I said that I'm ready to work on that website, but I need 4k to do it, because in order to create a professional website I have to pay about 500$ to get the best web package available and I want 3k to my pocket:) I said that because the girl is not going to pay anything, the hospital will pay everything:) Nothing is official yet, I don't know if the hospital is going to accept my offer, I know that building a website for a hospital is easy because this kind of websites do not required a hard work to be finished, most of the hospitals in Lebanon (I'm from Lebanon) have a homepage a support page, about us and it's all basically. I'm a web designer, but am new to blogging and CMS. I've been looking at tutorials on YouTube and looking at how you install both WordPress and Joomla and some of the features of both. I have several questions and detailed answers from experienced developers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all those who answer! The reason I'm looking into these CM systems is so that clients may take over the website once it's designed (blog, post articles, update, etc.). Which CMS is the most user friendly? Which CMS offers the most flexibility in terms of features? What is the difference between WordPress and Joomla? From what I can tell, WordPress is more for blogging and Joomla seems to be more for news articles. If I were to get a job with a newspaper company, I would like to be able to have them be able to post their news articles and have people be able to comment on stories. Which one is best for this? Also if I would be working for a newspaper, I would like the articles to be able to be searched for through a search engine on the site. Do either of these CM systems offer search capability? If both do, which one is easier to install? To use these CMS, do you need to know a lot of PHP? For WordPress, which is easier to use? WordPress.com setup or installing the files from WordPress.org right onto the hosting server? Is the user interface set up the same way? Like, is the dashboard exactly the same for both? I know a fair bit about computers, but I know very little about making websites I am running a mac right now, and I put together a website using iWeb, I know apple wants you to put the websites you design on their mobileme server, but there is a option where it asks for an ftp server address, username, password (not required), directory/path, protocol (it gives you options) and a place to enter a port, I assume this is all to enter information given to you by the hosting service you are paying to put your website on their server, correct? so I know you need either a server (I am not gonna pay for that) or a webhost, and a domain name, what are the steps to get your website from iWeb to the internet? also, what is your preferred, the cheapest, and the best webhost out there thank you very much =] email me if you have questions about my question haha comalley0130@gmail.comi meant i am not gonna buy a server more
