Open Question: Why does my web address appear when typed into browser bar but not when placed in google?

Hi I am a real novice so bare with me. I recently bought two domain names and have a one page website for each both with the same host server. I have two questions. 1, Why does my website show up when typed into the browser bar but not when typed into google search engine? Actually, my 1st website does show up in google but it is listed as "Mt front page" and has words underneath which relate to a google adsense ad. This is annoying as I am using the webpage to take potential customers through to the product owners site (I am an affiliate owner) and the word don't relate to what I am selling? 2, On the 2nd of my site I have uploaded a free html template to my website. My Soho club, Jazz After Dark, often hosts celebrities such as Amy Winehouse, but I am always considering promoting new artists. I am a portrait artist and use my art as well as my club to help promote new talent. For an example, one person I found recently is Bonnie O'Brian, a singer/songwriter whom I painted and whose portrait I am submitting to the National Portrait Gallery for consideration of an award. I am open to any suggestion for finding others who would like to sing and be painted in this way. Anyone have suggestions for finding emerging talent? Resolved Question: I want to create a simple website but am not sure how to go about it, what is the best way?

Here is what I have got so far. A domain name and a host with Cpanel and all the jazz that comes with it. I also have AdobeDreamweaver but I am not sure if it is the best way to go just yet as I have limited knowledge of HTML. What I have done so far is made a background/layout in GIMP (simply painted/drawn) which is what I want to have as the background for my simple 1-page website/index page. On top of this I want to add text which will be able to be picked up by search engines etc etc What is the best way to add this text? I've tried using Dreamweaver by creating an HTML doc and then setting my image as the background Image but inserting the text on the <body> of the HTML using tags is not fulfilling my requirements. Please point me in the right direction in either creating textboxes in dreamweaver or free software which will allow me to do this. Thanks.When I try insert-->form-->Text Field. I can't format the box how I would like either. I have done research lol. I envy you when it comes to wasting your own time with petty little responses when people are simply asking for help. more

I'm working on a profile page on another website. Unfortunately I have a lot of images and the space we have to code is a bit small (only 4000 characters). I've been using photobucket thus far, but it gives such long URLs to the images that it's a waste of space, so I wanted to switch to another host. Alright I'm designing an armature business site for a friend of mine for free- thus I'm using a free host. The host allows the use of HTML code. I'm in the process of creating banners for site advertising and putting them in a scroll box so members can share it on their site. The problem is the banners have to be HTML and every time I put the banner code inside the scroll box code, it turns into the image instead of appearing as only the code. I thought I had resolved this problem by using gt and lt in place of <, > which is what you are supposed to do, but every time I do the site's built in HTML code makes it < > instead of gt and lt. Up until recently, I've always used Imageshack to host my images that I place within emails (via Google Chrome, I upload the image, then drag or copy and paste it into the body of the email). However, Imageshack is consistently becoming more and more unreliable, with frequent down time, images not loading properly, etc. What I want to know is whether there is a better way. Something similar to having the email as an attachment (in the context that it's hosted on Yahoo Mail's servers, and not Imageshack's), but at the same time have it so it'll appear in full size in the email's body. My Future Husband It was a lonely, quiet evening. The freezing air radiated from the glass window in my dark bedroom. I lay upon my bed, resting my chin on folded arms. Staring out the window, I captured the moon with a snapshot stored inside my mind. Neither wanting to join the ongoing party my parents were hosting downstairs nor desiring to read the latest magazine mother had laid out on my desk, I fumbled with antagonizing thoughts—thoughts that bothered me much of the time lately. Reaching for my pillow, I stuffed it in between my legs and held on to the upper part of it tightly. Curling into a ball, I sunk my teeth into the soft cotton and whimpered. Even at the tender age of thirteen, I yearned for a lover—or possibly a ‘partner in crime’ would be the correct terminology to use at such a young, innocent age. It would even be safe to say that because of this desire, I dwelled in between the lines of desperate and naïve. Nonetheless, that is what I remember wanting. The night I first spoke to my future husband was a night where I found myself in a particularly rotten mood. Cradling myself against my tear-drenched pillow, I thought of all the things only a thirteen year old girl would preoccupy her mind with. Images of older and prettier looking girls from my school made me twinge. Linked upon their arms stood beautiful-eyed boys with shaggy hair covering the acne-free foreheads. And then, I came striding forth wearing my out-of-date clothing and sporting a hideously frizzy hairdo. I never knew how to control those goddamn curls. There I stood, though, my plain wimpy looking self amongst everyone else. I was afloat in the midst of a sea of perfect and happy couples. It made me sick to my stomach. Without warning, the images dissolved in my head and I was approached by the silhouettes of mother and father. They stood tall and confident, holding hands. Mother leaned her head against father’s shoulder and spoke of their future together—what they planned on doing after my brother and I left the house to embark on our own life journeys. Let’s go to Florida, mother said. And let’s spend our days at the beach, father added. The two people I knew so well—the two people I had known since birth possessed an endless amount of love for each other. It was an unexplainable amount—that of infinite perhaps. And that feeling of love confused me more than anything ever had before. Understanding love was an impossible torture—one that I could not bring myself to learn. I assumed that it would come with time and even though that seemed evident, I could not help but to wait impatiently. Drool oozed onto my pillow and I shut my eyes, hoping that the taunting images would fade away. Gripping the edges of my pillow, I rolled from one side of the bed to the other, hiccupping loudly and choking on sobs. Where was my lover hiding? Where was he when I needed him the most? After I finished crying, I continued to talk to my future husband for the rest of the night. And although I could not see him, I could hear his wonderfully uplifting voice that rang in my ears. Voting Question: Are there free image hosting sites other than Photobucket that don't delete certain photos?

I currently have 3 Photobucket accounts that I store literally 1,000s of photos I either take myself or find on the Internet. The problem with the site Photobucket is the fact they're very stingy with what they consider offensive, and have deleted a small percentage of my photos... for example, they may deem something sexually explicit when in fact it's actually art, or consider something offensive when it's just humorous... So, my actual question is, does anyone know of any sites who aren't so stingy and anal about the photos we want to store, as well as a site that allows more freedom of images and won't delete them?? I have about 1,000 photos that are currently clogging up my computer that I want to desperately upload to an image hosting site, but like I said, I don't want any of them deleted, and I'm SOOO over Photobucket... any help and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!! more

It all works fine when i check it using IE browser thought i'd cracked it! how wrong i was. i bought a domain name and pointed it to a free host 000webhost.com, then i uploaded my html index file and it's there but no pictures just a space for the image and the small square with colors on it in the corner. the video works perfectly and it comes from the same folder as the pictures in my hard drive. do the pictures need to be uploaded seperatly to the host?, which folder would they go in? why would the vid work and not pictures? thanks. more

Hello everyone. I don't know if this can be considered a question... But I need to tell someone before I act. I am a 15 year old boy and the reasons why I wish to end my sad, miserable life are the following: - I have never had a girlfriend, and I most probably never will. I am a very shy person because of bullying, I have been picked on so much that at some point I simply decided to roll up in a ball and give up. I know for a fact that I will never have a girlfriend if I don't speak with girls, but that won't happen... One of the persons that used to bully me was a girl so I'm afraid that girls will do bad things to me or insult me if I try and talk with them. And please... Please don't tell me stuff like "Oh you're too young to worry about girls, worry about school and sports instead", because my grades are fine and I suck in every single sport anyways... which brings me to my next reason. - I suck at every single sport, game, video game, or ANYTHING. I suck at absolutely EVERY single thing that one could suck at. I HAVE NO TALENT. I tried sports, video games, I even tried board games for christ's sake, and I suck at that too!!! Everyone beats me at everything! -I'm fat. I won't try and hide it, i'm morbidly obese. I weigh 182 pounds at 15 YEARS OLD. 15 years old! I only manages to lose 30 pounds in a whole year, which is a complete failure (like anything else i attempt). -I have barely any friends. I have about 2 "real friends", and they always speak behind my back and avoid me at school if they can. -Almost every day, someone says something mean to me just to make me feel bad (as if i didn't feel bad enough already) and the worst thing is, most of the time I don't even know these people! What did I dod to this world to be treated in such way?? -I did things that I regret profoundly, including smoking drugs and some other stuff. My father trusted me to take care of my brother, and I failed him again. I let my brother smoke marijuana and I didn't do anything. I am the most irresponsible person on the face of the earth and I clearly deserve to die. I am worthless. -Nobody loves me or cares about me. My Mom always drinks, I only see my dad about 2 times a month (IF i'm lucky), and my brother doesn't like me. I bet no one would even notice at school if i died. Of course, though, when a popular person dies, like last month, they make a big ceremony and everyone is crying! It's true though... those people would actually have brought something to the community. My career plans? The only thing I could think of was the army. After all, maybe i'll get shot in the head or get blown to pieces by a bomb or something. That would save me the trouble to do it myself. And because of all these things... I have lost the will to live.
