Open Question: I need a fast video streaming service (not an ad)?
Hey everyone so here is the deal. I'm paying monthly for a shared hosting account to host a few simple websites. The thing is now I want to add 1 video on the homepage of one of my websites but it needs to be able to load fast. It is a low file size anyways but with a horrible shared hosting account its not loading fast. I'm looking for some free/or not video hosting service of which I will then be able to embedd the video onto my website. I do not want to use youtube. moreVoting Question: What is the best Free Online Storage site (for me)?
There are MANY options for people (Mozy, Omemo, Box, DropBoks, MediaFire, in.solit.us, divShare, Omnidrive, Yuntaa, YouSendIt, MediaMax, Senduit, Megashares, Badongo, Up-File, ect.) but I'm looking for something specific. I know I could look through all these myself, but it took me 20 minutes discover that just 1 of them was of no use to me so going through them all would take me hours. I'm hoping there's someone who already knows about a lot of them. WHAT I NEED: 1) It must have what I need for FREE. I don't have the $ to pay for all these services. 2) I need Online STORAGE! I am not looking for something that allows me to "share files" or do "video hosting" or send ginormous files to a gazillion people. I want it to be private or have some setting feature that allows me to privatize my account. I don't want random people on the internet seeing my files & I really don't want my information to be sold to advertising agencies. 3) Hopefully it doesn't have some sort of "expiration." Apparently, many places will delete your account after a certain period disuse. I may not need to use my account for long periods of time, but I certainly will need to use it. Just cuz I don't log in for 6 months doesn't mean I've forgotten it's there or that I no longer need it. 4) Loooots of space. I want to back up everything I've stored on my computer that I've had to download or put on it. Basically, anything that wasn't a standard setting on my pc when I 1st got it. Pictures, documents, movies, files of all different shapes & sizes. (That way I can delete stuff, but still have it saved somewhere.) And I plan to have this account for a long time, so even though I might think there's enough space, I still might use it all. So I want a bunch of space. But I don't know a great deal about gigs & bytes & all, so I don't know much stuff I have. I think 2GB is normal?? So I guess 5GB is what I want. (Or more to be safe.) However, even if you only know things about 1 or 2 of them, any information will be much appreciated. If you know about 1 has the some or many of the features I need, I wanna know! And if you know about 1 that has some or many of the features I DON'T need... tell me that, too! That will tell me which places I should definitely stay away from. :) ~ Sorry for the super loooooong explanation & many needs. ^^;;;;;;; moreResolved Question: Converting .vob file on Mac to something else?
My uncle filmed our wedding ceremony using an HD camera and sent it to us on DVD - the video is about 4 minutes long total. The file is a .vob and I'd like to be able to upload it to a video-hosting site and share it on facebook as well as send the link in an email to family. I have a MacBook and I've tried converting the file to an MPEG-4 to upload to Vimeo using Handbrake, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I'm not sure if I used the wrong compression settings (I just followed the compression settings guide on Vimeo's website), but I left it working overnight and woke up to find that it was still working. It had been almost 14 hours.... I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong. Does anyone have suggestions for a FREE way for me to convert this file? Thank you so much in advance! moreResolved Question: is there a good free web hosting for videos/audio?

I make educational videos and powerpoints and I want upload them online so people can download them. I need a free online hosting site that fulfills such a purpose. I know what youtube is and I have a youtube channel, but I want people to be able to download my content, not just view it. I do not want to use Rapidshare or Megaupload because there is alot of illegal content available there. Any Suggestions?I do not want a site that makes you wait, like rapidshare or megaupload, to download files. moreResolved Question: Where can I get a FREE AVI to .MOV/MPEG-4/Apple-Playable-For… Video Converter?
Hi, Im looking for a FREE (free being the most important word) Video Converter which can convert HD AVI Videos to either .mov files, or some Video format which Final Cut Pro/Apple will play. I have tried DVKitchen and a host of other programmes, all of which cost a lot of money, so ive only been able to use the trial versions, which are all no good. But surely there has to be some programme out there which can just do this? Im making a movie trailer for a feature film script, using clips from other DVD's to create a "new trailer", so essentially, a fake trailer and I NEED to convert the video files to an Apple-readable format. I'd be so grateful of any help, if anyone knows. Thanks guYS =) moreResolved Question: Where can I get a FREE AVI to .MOV/MPEG-4/Apple-Playable-Format Video Converter?

I've found a few sites that allow hotlinking of adult images but they are image only sites. I'm looking for a site that I can also upload adult videos to. Any help? moreResolved Question: Best Way to Publish Website?
Here's the deal. I just want a freakin website. I'm trying to make a website for my cystic fibrosis organization. I guess I jumped in without enough research, but I already bought a $70/yr. hosting plan (HostMonster.com) and a domain name. After thinking about it more, I didn't like the domain that I bought, so I bought another one (not through HostMonster). I bought the second name that I am going to use through NetFirms.com, but only bought the domain name, not a hosting plan or anything. I am trying to find the best way to make my website. I know only the VERY basics of HTML, if even that. I know like 2 symbols (or whatever they're called) and that's it. So no, I can't make a website from "scratch". I need a site builder. I downloaded (for free) the "Yahoo! Site Builder" and it was just about perfect. It worked great and it's pretty much just what I need. Customizable enough and easy for the most part. Although since I'm not on a Yahoo hosting plan, it's wayyy more difficult to publish the site. I have to save all the files, etc. Then I go to my hosting website (hostmonster.com) and log in. They have an "Unlimited FTP" option. I contacted their support via email and got a LITTLE BIT of instruction as to how to go about publishing my site to my 2nd domain that I transferred to HostMonster. They weren't super helpful, though. I even made a screencast video showing them my problem and they didn't seem to understand. Anyways, I transferred what I thought was all my files from my Yahoo! Site Builder website that I had made (through the Unlimited FTP) to my website on HostMonster. But the images weren't showing up and it was all very confusing! I think the most logical, easiest solution would be to just pay an extra $90 a year or whatever (on top of the $75 from my HostMonster plan) and get a Yahoo! Web Hosting account/service thing. But that's just too much. I know it would make publishing the website so much easier but I can't do it. I'm only 14 years old, no job, and don't get allowance. So I don't have the money for that. But I don't know what to do. So if anyone has any CHEAP suggestions of what to do, that'd be wonderful. I don't care if it's a super cheap hosting plan that I could easily upload my site files onto to publish or if it's another idea. I just need a cheap solution since I'm now broke. Thanks! moreResolved Question: How do I send video files over 30MB via email?
Is there a website that allows you to host them for free other than youtube, something more exclusive and personal that you don't have to be a member of to view the videos? Or is there a program that will make the files smaller so I don't have to split the video up? I tried converting it to something else but it's still too big to send through email and it's only 7 minutes long. moreResolved Question: I need a free YouTube video downloading host that downloads the videos to MPEG , AVI, or WMA formats...?
... or any file format EXCEPT : FVL and MP4 Thanks moreResolved Question: gmail's onto me! I need to send bulk email. Ideas?
I've been banned by gmail a couple of times thus far and I need a better way to do this. I have my webcam hooked up to the server in my bedroom to take pics and video if it detects motion when I'm not home and to email me the images as soon as they're created. If a burglar breaks into my room and steals my server, I'll have pics of the burglar to give to the cops. Or at least, I will if I can email the pics to myself without getting banned by email services. Any email or file hosting ideas are welcome, preferably free. Thus far my bedroom "security system" is totally ghetto-rigged with equipment I already had and hasn't cost me a dime.Rap man, I can't find a question of yours that I've answered recently, and you have your questions and answers set to private. moreResolved Question: Whats a good video hosting website were i can post 500mb videos and use my own flv player to play them ?

I am looking for a website that allows video hosting and gives you the embed file as well. The important part is that I want the embedded file to IN NO WAY link back to the hosting site for the viewer. I realize the service I'm looking for may be a paid service. Of course free would always be preferable, but I'm willing to pay as long as it's reasonable. Any ideas? moreResolved Question: Suggestions for video hosting software?
I'd like to move away from services like YouTube and Vidmeo when hosting my Vodcasts. I'd like software, (preferably free or open source; but of course if I need to pay I will), that I can install on my linux based web host and will simply let me upload a video file in avi, 3gp, mpeg or wmv formats, will convert the file to flv format and will then automatically stick the file into a flash player and let me embed the file in my blog or another other web page. I don't need direct linking however, nor do I want one of those turn-key web hosting website solutions. I'm not interested in letting anyone else use the service (I don't have the bandwidth) I just want something private, just for me that I can use for my videos. Any and all SERIOUS and CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions would be great.Given the answers I've received thus far it is clear that my question hasn't been understood. I am NOT looking for a desktop video converter, NOR am I looking for a stand alone flv player. I want a WEB APP that I can install on my WEB SERVER (as in my www.com) which will allow me to upload a video file to my WEB SERVER (THUS HOST THE FILE MYSELF) will then convert the file to flv format, stick it into a flash player and auto generate the embed code. Basically I want a tool that gives all the backend file rendering capabilities of a video hosting site (like youtube for example) but it being private in that other people can't upload their own videos or sign up for accounts or anything like that. People should only be able to watch the files I upload WHEN I EMBED THEM in ANOTHER WEBSITE. So like you know how you can embed a youtube video into your own website, blog, whatever? Well THAT should be the only means to viewing the videos that I upload and convert. I hope that's clearerPlease also note I am highly capable of performing a google search; and have done so already. It is ONLY because google and sourceforge.org haven't turned up any relevant results that I am asking this question. Please only answer this question if you actually personally know of such software. moreResolved Question: How to record flash videos online?
Hi, I am developing a networking website for my collegemates. Where in they can record their voice or their video profile online live in my website and upload. Using webcams and microphones. I wanted a simple and reasonably priced solution as this for private and non-commericial use among our college. When i looked around i found in www.aff.com , they have this same system wherein once we register for free, we can also record our video or audio profiles and upload. So, i wanted to develop something similar to that wherein you can put in your profile, your photos, audio & video profiles, all in flash. Also i wanted to know if there is any freeware software which can convert any media files like mpeg, avi, wma into flash and then posted into the website as well. This will be useful if the internet connection isn't fast enought for online recording in the case above. My hosting server is a shared php based Linux server with other default stuff, let me know if have to add-in any other linux application.A handsome tip if the answer is in detail and precise. moreResolved Question: Free online file hosting and hot linking?
I have a huge collection of photos, songs and videos that i want to upload onto a web server. I wish to then hot link these files to my blog. Could anyone suggest me some good web site that offer such hosting and hot linking features. The important features that i'm looking in them are : - Multiple uploads at the same time. - Links should displayed immediately for some selected list of files. - Easy user interface. - Easy multiple file deletion. I was using the BoxStr service earlier, but it closed down due to some reasons. Though they have come up with this OpenDrive system, its not as good as the previous BoxStr. Boxstr was the best hosting and hot linking website that i used. If anyone is aware of the features and interface that Boxstr provided, then consider that I am looking for exactly the same kind of a website. Your response is appreciated in advance. moreResolved Question: How to share your music online? (for free)?

i have made a simple web page using html in notepad it has a few pics and a short video and some text. It all works fine when i check it using IE browser thought i'd cracked it! how wrong i was. i bought a domain name and pointed it to a free host 000webhost.com, then i uploaded my html index file and it's there but no pictures just a space for the image and the small square with colors on it in the corner. the video works perfectly and it comes from the same folder as the pictures in my hard drive. do the pictures need to be uploaded seperatly to the host?, which folder would they go in? why would the vid work and not pictures? thanks. moreResolved Question: Can I get some help with HTML and my website?
I'm no good with html, but I've found this converter that is supposed to take the .exe file for a video game I'm making and convert it [I'm not sure what it's converting it into, hah] and then it gives me an HTML code to post it on a website. Right before it gives me the code, here's what it says; Insert following code anywhere in your page, please make sure following files should be put in the same directory of the page(you can find them by clicking the 'output' button): 1. loadgame_et.cab 2. Betelgeuse.zip I know where to find those two files, but I'm not entirely sure how to put them into the same directory or whatever it is trying to say. So, to sum it all up: I need to know how to put those files into the same directory as the HTML code, and I need to know what free web hosting site will be capable of doing this for me [I'm not sure if webs will allow it]. The size of the two files combined is a little over 1,500kb. moreResolved Question: Regarding digital distribution, specifically Japanese animation (involves a specific situation, please read)?
Here's the extent of my knowledge - It is illegal to digitally distribute intellectual property without the expressed written permission of the parties holding the legal rights to that property. It is also illegal to distribute property from other countries, in this case Japan, due to International Copyright Law. Now, for the specific situation: On October 13th, a web site called animesfree.com posted that they had just been delivered a notice from his web host stating that FUNimation (an anime localising, licensing, and distributing company in the US) served them a DMCA notice and that they had 24 hours to comply and remove all FUNi content (of which there seems to have been 44 different titles available on the site at the time). Of course the whole situation is incredibly silly, if you see the post about it on their front page, but what I really want to know about is the real legality of things, seeing as how they have a "Legal" page. That page states, "Animes Free does not host or endorse any of the videos seen on this website. We are a community which embeds videos from popular video sharing websites for community use, much like the way Google indexes websites on their search engine. There are no videos hosted on our servers and we do not take responsibility for the content. Any complaints or inquiries should be sent to the party responsible for hosting these videos, and not us. Contact references regarding legal issues will be re-directed to this page." While this would APPEAR pretty clear and reasonable, somehow I think this little loophole just doesn't really work this way. They say they do not endorse the videos seen on their site, but then if they don't then why are the videos even there? Isn't that endorsement? And wouldn't this situation be similar to that of Pirate Bay, where files were only directed to and not hosted, and yet the legal hammer came down on them anyway? If you have any sort of insight or other resources, this has been a very interesting situation to me, and I think it would be interesting for others who might visit anime streaming sites or host similar sites. In addition, perhaps this would have been a decent topic in discussion in the "animation" subsection, however my question is of a legal issue, not exactly an animation issue. moreResolved Question: X-files episodes online for free?

I have about 20-25 personal video clips that are in .wmv format, and each about 150MB in size. Is there any place online where I can host these for my friend to see, but limit them from being seen by anyone else? moreVoting Question: Would you pay for this? or give it as a gift?
Okay, so for a while now i have been considering investing in a new computer like a mac and a kit to edit and burn dvds from vhs. What i was planning on doing was burning these dvds for local people in my small town of 10,000+ and family / friends. To start this i need -new vhs player $40ish -software $80 -mac $1000ish or pc - $800-1000 external hard drive $60 Now what i need to know from you people out there is. Would you pay for this service? would you pay to have your old vhs home videos converted to dvd with transitions - possibly menu depending on the time it takes... gift case etc. **would try to add alot of charm to the collection to make it look professional and something that would be given as a gift also** -Also i would be willing to put these files on a free media hosting site, so in the case that they ever lost the file or don't have a dvd burner etc. they could download the files onto their computer fom a personally created account on one of these sites. (possibly put in the mobile phone - ipod format for them (additional fee?) Anyone aware of mainstream business' that do this? what do they charge? Do you think this would be worth it? What would you be willing to pay? I'm a senior in highschool and will be needing to purchase a notebook for school next year anyways. Also i would be doing this on the side while i work a part time job. thanks!it would ONLY be for family videos being as if i converted normal videos to dvd it may violate some kind of copyright laws. The team behind the screen recording utility Camtasia have released a simplified, experimental version of the technology, packaged into a nice downloadable application called the Jing Project. Jing makes it very easy to grab screenshots and videos straight from your PC, and then save them or share them on the Web. The coolest part of this experiment--in theory--is Jing's integration with Screencast.com, a hosting service for videos recorded off your computer. Once you've recorded a video, you can save it to your Screencast account, and from there you can get an embed code to put it in a blog or other page. The experimental Jing is great, but oddly, the well-established Screencast.com site is the weak link in the chain. It's unattractive, and the embed codes are nearly impossible to find. On the plus side, the Screencast.com trial doesn't apply to Jing users--Jing has announced that the $6.95 monthly fee gets waived for Jing users. Still, Jing really needs a quick and easy way to upload files to more free vid-sharing sites. FLV uploads are recommended to be in H.264, but other than that, for a clean, flexible, and almost fun way to grab pictures and onscreen videos, Jing really can't be beat. moreResolved Question: Good web host? Free or cheap?
By cheap, I mean it's gotta be under $15/year. I don't need that much storage or bandwidth. It must have NO LIMITATIONS with respect to what you can upload - I shoot little videos sometimes and I'd like to upload them (They are nothing illegal or sketchy, just of my cat or whatever, lol). I also want to be able to upload mp3 files of me singing or talking or whatever - nothing I don't own the copyright to. I also want full .htaccess control and I have to be able to hotlink my own files. No file-type restrictions and it must have FTP. I am sick of going from host to host and finding nothing good. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations. Thanks in advance.I've been with a FREE host for 2 years who have 99% uptime. I have never seen my website down. It's been 2 years. I think I should just stick with them. moreResolved Question: VIDEO CAM EXPERTS: What model would you recommend for my specific uses?
I've been looking online for weeks, but still am boggled by the many choices out there, and am looking for specific recommendations so I don't end up with a camera that doesn't fit my needs. SHOOTIONG LOCATION: I will be shooting teaching videos in a very small room. Will use a tripod with very little camera movement. Mostly shots of myself at a green marker board. Will rig up some flourescent lighting. DELIVERY: After editing the videos (simple cuts, titling, music) in a program like Sony Vegas, I will upload them to YouTube and other free file hosting sites, as well as to my own website. In time, I hope to be able to create a subscription service, so the videos should have a commercial look. As well, I hope in the future to compile my lectures onto a DVD that I can sell. Until that point, though, I do not need any hard copies of the lectures, so I have been looking at hard disk cams. NEEDS: I don't think I need any special bells and whistles (zoom, high-speed motion capture, etc), just a high-quality picture that seems very professional, as well as clear sound (which I worry about in such a small room; I'll have to cover the walls to reduce echo). I'm not sure if there are certain models that faciliate editing and internet publishing, but if so I guess I should be looking at these. I'm also unsure as to whether or not I'll need a mic jack and wireless mike in such a small room, or if the camera's internal mike will be able to capture my lectures clearly enough. That's a summary of things so far. What kind of camera can fit these needs? Any advice would be much appreciated!Am looking for a camera under $1000. moreResolved Question: what is the best OS for my computer?

Where can I host it without charge?
I made this video that is 668 MB. That is way too large for any domains that I am familiar with. I would rather not compress the file because I don't want to lose quality. Even if I did compress, I find it unlikely for it to be compressed enough. Okay, I have been DYING to make anime amvs for the past month now, but I've yet to find a FREE site that will give me anime episodes that actually open easily on my computer and can be used on Windows Movie Maker. I've tried Veoh and various other sites that gave me weird file types like .avi and .flv that wouldn't work on WMM, and it's beginning to get really frustrating. I would prefer a site that requires no extra software to be downloaded, and one that has videos already in .wmv format so I don't have to mess with lengthy conversions. If there is anyone out there who frequently makes anime amvs and knows where to get clips, it would be MUCH appreciated. I would especially appreciate sites that have at least one of the following animes available for download: ~Fruits Basket ~Full Moon wo Sagashite ~Ouran High School Host Club ~Chobits ~Vampire Knight ~Fullmetal Alchemist Any help on this is much appreciated! moreVoting Question: Are there any free FLV video hosting sites that allow over 100 mb and 45 min of video?
