Open Question: Lost Operating System Validation after attempting to delete suspicious file.?

I attempted to delete a J-peg file or one disguised as one, since it did not have a thumbnail image. My computer froze, went into BSOD 3 seconds later. I logged back into it from restart, to find that my operating system claimed to be invalid. So after re-validating the OS and attempting multiple Virus, Malware, and spyware scans. I have found nothing and am at a loss for what could have caused it and where I stand if the "it" is unrecognizable by any current Virus/Malware/Spyware Database. The main applications I used were: Avast4! Anti-virus and spyware Spybot Search and Destroy AVG Internet Security Ad-Aware + (Threatfire, which I cannot reinstall until the computer is clean.) In the past I have had issues with: Komodo Internet Security SpyDoctor Trend Micro / House Call (Sometime after they began selling) MalwareBytes PcTools Anti Spyware Norton and Symantec (Have never worked for me, in the instance of a true infection.) McAfee (Same Idea, different package.) As a note, I have never tried Kaspersky. right now i have 0.5 upload. Whenever I'm chosen as host (which is all the time for some reason) everyone gets horrible lag and freezing. My NAT is set to open, and I have upnp enabled. (I dont know what these mean but I'm told they matter). So supposedly my problem is that my upload speed is not good enough. I'm thinking of upgrading my internet as a last resort. We're planning hosting an care package and letter drive for US troops overseas at my university. I'm looking for tips on what to ask for to put in care packages, what organizations are easy to work with, do any organizations sponsor letter drives (apparently Let's Say Thanks doesn't do local letter drives anymore), what to do with the donations once we've got them (box 'em up or send 'em to organization), etc.... basically if someone out there has already been a part of an event like this, what are details that I need to figure out while planning this event? more

Out of the service providers I have listed below, who offers the best web hosting package/service & site builder? I am interested in a WordPress.org blog. I know WordPress.com is free and simple, but I don't want the free service because I want control over my blog. HOWEVER, I am so confused as to which provider to use. I have used GoDaddy in the past but their site builder left much to be desired AND I could never seem to insert the proper code in the GoogleTools to get Google to recognize my site. GoDaddy couldn't get it correct either and said it was a Google issue (hmmmm...don't know how true that was). My family just opened up a outdoor adventures/guided tours company and we wanted to build a website. Since I'm usually the person that does everything with the computer, I was given the task of building the website. We already have the domain name registered and a hosting package, and I know enough about FTP to get by once the site is built. That's the problem - need to know how to build a website to these specifications: - Inexpensive building program (preferably free, friend has a copy of dreamweaver he said I could use if needed) - Need a "gallery" page (to showcase photos) that can be cycled through (is flash required? would love a template) - Need a registration page (so that people can leave a name, number, questions, etc that will be sent to us) - Needs to be fairly easy to make changes/edit (was using "EasySiteWizard" since it had everything but the cycle-through gallery, but has caused nothing but problems so we just decided to start over) - Hopefully from a template so that it will look decent and I won't have to start from scratch Also, is it better for me to build it myself, or is it a waste of time spending the hours on learning/buying something like Dreamweaver, flash, etc? Hi, I recently considered getting a reseller server from a company, reselling domains etc in order to turn a profit. Most people I've seen doing this are web designers and offer it as package deal. -I just want everyone to know, you can be completely honest here, I'm not looking for sugar coated or nice answers that say, "well, do what you can afford or want"- Where I live, it's very common and considered good etiquette to host an open bar at a wedding. In the past 4 years, I've attended 5 weddings and they all had an open bar. It's considered polite to provide your guests with drinks for the duration of the reception. The open bars around here offer everything, so multiple types of hard liquor, wine, champagne and beer. Usually, most couples host their weddings at all-inclusive venues, so the price of the bar is included in the package along with the food. I'm having a relatively low budget wedding for my area, I'm hoping to only spend about $8,000 for the food and drink for 130 people. Although, I have $10,000 available, if extra costs come up. I was thinking about ways to save money. I was thinking about doing a limited bar for the guests and providing them with just red/white wine and light and regular beer. I would hire a bartender to serve everything, just to keep order and to keep it classy too. But, I'm worried that will be a huge etiquette faux pas for my area. I could probably afford an open bar with the additional $2,000 I've allotted in my budget. I found a bartending company that charges per guest, per hour for open bar and not by consumption. So, I'm asking for people's honest opinion. I do little publishing and web jobs out of my home. Most of it is volunteer work for non-profits. I've never charged for a web-site. I agreed to do a small site as a favor to a friend of a co-worker. It would be really simple. I'd just used page templates, they are aware that this is what I plan to do. There will be only a few pages, photo gallery and a quarterly newsletter. I don't know what type of organization this is for, but from knowing the person it is for I'm assuming its something athletic, so I'm wondering if there will be the need to update scores or times at some frequency. I want to go into my meeting with some idea of pricing guideline. How much for initial set-up? How many updates should I include or should I charge for updates each time or include it in a package? I'm not looking for big bucks, like I said it's simple. I'm not a professional but I do good, clean looking work and I'm easy-going with changes. I just want to be compenstated for my time. Would $250 for initial set-up be resonable and $50 for each newsletter update? The hosting fees and domain purchase would come out of that. So I tracked my package that was shipped from New York State to my village in Germany by my parents. (I'm an exchange student). The tracking thing said the package was delivered to Cadenberge, Germany (my village, but no specific address or anything..) at 11:54PM on Monday. I have the package where I can host multiple sites so I added my domains to my package. It asks me to set a folder up to point the new URL to, so I set one up and everything seems fine.. Then when I type my new url address into a browser it just redirects to my main URL and is almost like a subdomain, anyone help me with this? Example. www.mainurl.com I add www.secondurl.com and set up a folder on the root called 'secondurl' When I type in www.secondurl.com into a browser the page redirects and I get www.mainurl.com/secondurl Very confusing?
