I would like to host a bunch of different websites all with their own separate domain names? I currently have one site on Bluehost and pay a hosting fee and domain name fee every year (I forget how much it is, I think it's around $100). I have created multiple websites. I've never had a problem. I recently tried to create a website hosting it with my computer, but I can only access it through localhost and not through the domain. I have my computer all setup as a DMZ host, and I know my ISP doesn't block port 80 because I've never had this problem. I'm planning a technology class for next at my middle school (I'm a teacher). I would like to have my students design and publish their own websites, but I'm not sure how to get that done. The school internet does not have access to free web hosting and I don't want to pay for a domain if I can't get it to handle multiple web pages. What I really want is what my university (CSULB) had set up for their intro to technology course. I get the above error message (in an authentication pop-up) I have tried to work through the issue with GoDaddy support (hosting company) - no positive result. Basically I have Apache 2.2 set up on my windows server with PHP & CGI installed, and basically I have 2 domain names that I want to host with on my server - 1 of the domains I want to point to one location in my web folder on my server and the other domain I want to point to another folder. I have followed numerous tutorials online about how to set up VirutalHosts and when I did this, I got a 403 forbidden error when visiting either of the domain - When I checked the error and access logs, there was no problem by the looks of things. I have a few personal websites and i'm starting to build a collection of sites i'm doing for other people. Rather than me forking out for individual hosting and domains etc, could I host them all through a single account and keep creating new sites/domains under the one account? more
