I will be hosting a Metal show and my partner and I are looking for a venue to rent out. Usually these shows are hosted in an empty warehouse for rent or a small empty business in a strip mall used just for concerts. Just curious. Have been told lately that my hands-off positions on social issues make me conservative. 1. I'm strongly pro-gun. If I can't fight back I have no last-ditch defense against tyranny or abuse. I'll drop my gun when the last cop and the last criminals drop theirs, many thanks. 2. I'm strongly pro-choice. I believe in self-ownership. Thus, as long as something is an unwelcome host in your body you can throw it out. 3. I'm strongly against censorship. Free speech means free speech, I won't buy onto none of that "decency" BS. Burn the FCC. I'm not offended either by hardcore conservative propaganda or BDSM porn. in primetime. If I don't like it I can swap channels. 4. I'm strongly against morality enforcement. Thus I oppose the war on drugs, bans on prostitution or gambling, sin taxes and having a drinking age higher than the age of majority. I'm also against laws forbidding consensual sexual acts. 5. I'm a strong supporter of religious freedom. If some folks want to pray let them pray as long as they don't coerce someone else. It's none of my business. Conversely, if some folks want to be hostile to religion, as long as they don't coerce someone else, by all means, let'em. It's again none of my business as long as no-one coerces each other. 6. I support a capable military, though not neccessarily one that is able to play world police. One that is enough to keep us and our allies safe, not a dime more. I oppose wars of aggression and imperialism, though I'm by no means a pacifist and when we have good reason to go on and kick butt, by all means do so. 7. I'm strong on privacy rights. While I don't think the Ten Commandments should be displayed in coutrtrooms, a golden script of the Fourth Amendment should be. Forbid cops from even buying a doughnut without probable cause. Allow them to do what they have to do when they have it. 8. Stop the marriage nonsense. Civil unions for all, and everyone shuts the f*ck up. 9. I'm pro-union, but I dislike them working like a mafia. Combine the open shop model with nondiscrimination laws that protect union members from management's retaliation and labor laws that let unions work. Let unions freely compete, as well as businesses. 10. It makes no sense to favor rich blacks over poor whites. Scrap affirmative action. Replace with free superior education and nondiscrimination in hiring laws. 11. It is outrageous that medical costs can drive people bankrupt. Single-payer, government-funded catastrophic health insurance for all (let the government bid with private contractors and lobby them for lower prices). Small medical costs let private insurance freely compete, and people choose whether to buy or not to buy it. 12. Welfare as is doesn't work. Replace with unemployment benefits to help people when they've been laid off. Good benefits that last for a reasonable while. Let them expire if they won't work. Aside from that, provide for the kids for they have no fault. That means food stamps and clothing vouchers and section 8, but no welfare check when mom's unemployment benefits run dry. 13. We need social security. We don't need it to go unchanged and untouched for the eras. Fix what doesn't work. Get ways, aside from taxation, to get revenue for it (such as investing part of the fund in a controlled way.) 14. I support the free market and free trade as long as there are reasonable protections for workers and the environment. more

We own a small business and we have a several locations. I want the managers to all be able to access and edit the same data ( customer prospects, sales records, etc) from an internet connecting. In other words, even if it is a desktop program, can it pull data from a server so that multiple users can all see and edit the same stuff? if not, what CMS system can do this? We are at different places but all need to access and edit the same data. For instance if a new lead comes in at one location, they add the info to the cms system and then the other locations can see and update the same data. We do have a web hosting account that supports mysql etc. and full ftp access, if this helps to determine what we can use. more

I run a small web hosting and design business, and I accept my payments through PayPal and just put them in my personal checking. I had a customer who was months overdue, and after sending them a statement, they finally paid up. The problem is they wrote a check, and it's written out to the name of my website (which isn't a registered business name). I don't want to ask for another check, because I like to represent myself as a company and that would be unprofessional. How do I endorse the check so that I can deposit it into a personal checking account? Can I just write "For deposit only to the account of ###Personal Checking Account Number####"? I develop websites for small businesses and have been approached by a Photographer who wants a website with the facility to order their photos online. For example, If the photographer were to take photos at a wedding then they could provide their client with a password where family and friends would be able to go on to the photographers website, view the photos (with watermarks) and then place their orders. I think the solution to this is for me to build the client a nice website and then integrate a photography program into the site so that customers can then order photos (which are hosted on another server) without the web space getting full. I know there are some programs on the internet that provide this function but I dont know what they are called and would appreciate some recommendations. It is important that the photography facility can be easily integrated into the photographers website. Any help much appreciated!!!Dearest Fishmeister. I am so sorry to hear that you are confused. Does it happen a lot? I have experience of building websites for many differnet types of clients from fishing tackle shops to bus companies. Nonetheless I take on the role of account manager and leave the graphic designers to build the websites -though I am reasonable proficent with web building myself and have been known to help out from time to time. My questions relates to the amount of space that would be required to host these photos online. We charge a monthly fee depending on how much web space the clients site is using and I am trying to find a way that we could connect a simple website to another online photography program that would allow the client to upload their photos without me having to charge the client lots of money for hosting. My question doesnt relate to building a website for the client. I could easily build the client a website with fully integrated shop and photo galleries. The issue is that to do so would use a high amount of webspace that the client would then have to pay a large monthly fee for. It makes no sense for a photographer to host their own images as there are plenty of websites that will do this for them with all the tools they could possibly need. I told the client from their first telephone call with me that I would need to check out what the best option would be and I also spoke to a few of my friends who are photographers. I then called the client back with a number of options and the client has decided to use our services - sorry!! Maybe the client was impressed by all the research we did for her. Afterall Yahoo answers was only one avenue of research! Nonetheless we have developed hundreds of websites for avariety of different clients who have ll been very pleased with the work we have done. Hi everyone, Recently, I'v been finding myself a little broke. So, I decided to try and pursue an online business. I would like to do a Zippo Lighter sale site (I collect zippos), or maybe car audio sales. But, I'm not sure where to start. I know I need to find a website host, that I will need my own website, and I will need to get the product from the supplier. I heard about this thing called drop shipping, where I never actually see the product, but get orders from the customer and send those orders to the factory where they ship it to the customer, and I keep a small difference between my price and the factories price. Can anyone give me more details on that? And how can I be a part of that? I also need to know how I would get payment; what do I use to collect paypal, mastercard, etc? Thats about all I know about this, can someone point me in the right direction and give me an estimate on how much initial fee this is gonna cost? I have like 200 to put into it right now, maybe more soon. I have seen businesses like this already complete for sale on ebay, but never bothered to bid and to go ahead and try making it on my own. Sure they already have that but I am talking about applications like Word, Excel, Autocad etc. You could have them all paid for ONLINE you can use them just as you would on your desktop only the advantage is YOU DON'T have to install anything and when you save the filetype you can use it on the next computer WITHOUT having that software INSTALLED ON THE NEXT COMPUTER YOU GO ONTO. You just take the filetype with you and hypothetically log into the site that hosts the applications. I was thinking that maybe you could make deals with Microsoft etc. for profit sharing on each app you sell online; the only problem I see is that larger companies might just start doing it themselves since it isn't a patentable idea. Maybe it could be a thing for just smaller software companies to promote their applications? OR last but not least maybe you could create software, and maintain it which would help companies like Microsoft QUICKLY transfer their applications to online use via their servers or yours? What do people here think? I think that this idea has potential. Help? Ideas? Advice? Opinions? more
