Hello I would like to make a web page. I am a newbie but I would like to be a professional some day. Currently I use ASPX for this web page I am making at work. I haven't started doing HTML, XML, Dreamweaver, PHP, etc yet but would like to eventually get there. I know SQL, MYSQL, perl, java, visual basic. I am planning to use a site for applying for jobs purposes. I will want some space to upload my computer programming works and either the human resource downloads the software I created or can play with it online. I am helping my boss make a website for our restaurant, which is very basic with about 10 pictures total. He is very stingy and wants to do this cheaply or not at all, so if anyone could recommend a web host with a small amount of space, that'd be great. I have a domain name registered with Google (gdomains through godaddy). I really love having everything handled through Google. I love the email, I'm used to the platform for my DNS settings, I like their file hosting, I have advertising credit, the registration price is perfect and includes 50 usernames and 90 CNAMES. The only thing is I really really don't like the Google Sites hosting platform. I know this isn't ideal but I'm really not ready to do a full transfer to a new host. Basically I just want something that will allow me to redirect my already registered domain name to a basic webpage that I can create through the host site. I have my own layout coded and everything and had my site up on Blogger, which was pretty close to how I want it in terms of features but it wasn't giving me the freedom I wanted to add extra pages and things like that. To water it down my site is basically a "blog" but I need 5 separately archived pages so you can see how that would be a problem with something like Blogger. Especially with my CNAMES because blog sites don't allow naked URLs. I use Webs for free hosting on smaller projects but I'm not sure if I trust them with my domain, plus I can't afford a premium package right now. I have paid web hosting my friend and I use which comes with unlimited space and bandwidth. Alot of my other friends don't know anything about ftp programs so I want to offer them an easier way to upload files and have their own folder of files to manage using my webspace. I found a nice php based uploader system which allows people to sign up, have their own folder, and be able to manage their uploaded files. The problem is, php has a max upload filesize and our host doesn't want to raise it due to quality assurance. I know with an ftp account you can upload anysize files so does anybody know a better uploader that doesn't use php that would work the same way but allow bigger uploads somehow? I'm looking for a free script engine for setting up accounts or whatever. more

As I understand it, in order to create a website you must first register a domain name and buy a web space. Having a registered domain name allows you to have a simple url you choose, like www.example.com, instead of something like www.geocities.com/example. Most review sites seem to be either biased or not current enough. I develop websites for small businesses and have been approached by a Photographer who wants a website with the facility to order their photos online. For example, If the photographer were to take photos at a wedding then they could provide their client with a password where family and friends would be able to go on to the photographers website, view the photos (with watermarks) and then place their orders. I think the solution to this is for me to build the client a nice website and then integrate a photography program into the site so that customers can then order photos (which are hosted on another server) without the web space getting full. i want to create a site. when i visted diffrent sites for domain name and web hosting i seen they are charging diff prices for the same thing and what do u mean by space some are providing 1 gb and some unlimited in same price why this diffrence so and WHICH IS THE BEST WEBHOSTING SITE IN INDIA? more
