ok...a few a days ago at school...i had my ipod touch 8gb second genereation on my top shelf in my locker...some time before 4th hour...it was gone...either i was bending down and getting somethin on the ground or they broke in...it really sucks...i only had it for like 1 month So now im pissed and i told the peeps at da office and stuff..but they havent found it so now im hopeless... now for christmas i cant get my new drumset cuz i need like a portable device thingy...so ive been looking into it i figured out about the psp 3000 which seemed cool...and ive known about jailbroken ipods for a long time...like i said i had the 2nd gen so i didnt experience having a jailbroken...and also i need an older gen cuz theyre cheeper...i dont know what to get the psp doesnt have apps like ipod (ex:Xbox live friends list,aim,little games,weather,stocks,notes,music apps like drums etc.) when i get the ipod, it is gunna be more appealing if i get the psp it is less likely to be stolen which i like i love the apps from ipod but out of the 40 apps i had..i only used like 5 so it was kindof a waste... psp has bigger screen..need memo sticks,,good with games....but it doesnt have apps or touch screen ipod has touch screen but smaller,,no mem stick but then only holds up to 8gb (cant add)..has apps which can be fun and useful...and risk of having it break cuz its jailbroken im not that big of video watcher on portable devices..but i use music a lot...i know ipod wifi internet is better...but i dont know tell me what u think more

Ok im gettin like $500+ for christmas I found an Ipod 32 GB Touch 1st gen for 330 Ipod touch 32 gb 2nd gen 380 16 gb is only offered in 2nd gen and is 299 of course if i were to get the 16 gb one id be stupid 30 bucks for double storage duh but then are their major differences worth 50 dollars? i tried my friends it was black on the back, curved too he had this basketball game on it, and was playing it on the bus idk whch gen. it was, but i liked its feel, and it was nice and fast/responsive so tell me 1st gen or second gen? and if you say second, can i make do with 16 gb of space? (i have like 5-6 gbs of music, want lots of games, and have 40+ movies, every south park episode, every scrubs episode, every house episode, every family guy episode, every ATHF episode i also plan to get probably about 10 more movies this makes me wonder if i should just get the 120 gb video for 249.99 is the touch worth the sacrifice? i know its a lot, but any ipod expert im sure can answer it all in a matter of 10 minutes maybe more

Okay... so I plugged my iPod into the computer and iTunes opens saying that 7.40 GB is used (it's an 8 GB iPod) it also showed the same thing on the iPod, but there is nothing, absolutely nothing in the iPod. No podcasts, no music, no photos, no videos, nothing! What should I do? Why is it doing this? Thanks ...and obviously it won't let me add new songs. more

Voting Question: Is there an MP3 player other than the iPod that can display lyrics?

Preferably as part of an ID3 tag, and it doesn't have to be synchronized. This is a really important factor for me in deciding which MP3 player to get. I'm thinking about getting a 8 GB SanDisk Sansa Fuze because it's a lot cheaper than an iPod nano, esp. with a $40 off coupon from Costco. However, I don't think the Fuze can display lyrics, so I might have to get an iPod after all... do you think the tradeoff is worth it if I get an 16 GB iPod nano for $190 rather than a $60 8GB Sansa Fuze? And money notwithstanding, which do you think is the better player overall? Sound quality/headphone quality/build/interface/video? It really annoys me when I can't tell what the singer is singing (which is often)... and it takes away from my enjoyment of the music. Also, sometimes when they are singing in a foreign language I like to be able to read the original lyrics and the translation. So if you know any other MP3 players other than iPods that can display lyrics, please tell! more

** As I think of more questions I will add it in the details section, so make sure to read those. Here they are in an orderly fashion for you convenience. As the months tick by closer to Christmas, I was wondering what I should ask for. It came down to a video camera and an iPod, and I decided to ask for an iPod since I don't really need a camera. There really aren't many good video games coming out for the systems I have. Here are my questions: For iPod Touch (2nd gen): 1. What does jail-breaking do, and is it safe? 2. Are the apps like Facebook, the Internet app and Youtube free? 3. What is the price range of applications? 4. Which Touch is ideal for me? I won't have more than 350 songs, so it will mainly be used for movies. I plan to mostly just rip movies from DVDs I get from the library. Just off the top of my head, I named about 17 movies and 15 television episodes. Should I go for the 32 gig, just for extra space? 5. Is it easy to get bored of watching movies, since that will be the primary function of my iPod? 6. Do the apps for Facebook and Youtube have depth so they aren’t just a gimmick that lasts a week? For iPods in general: 1. For iTunes, is it possible to have a file put onto my iPod and then deleted from the computer? I don’t want to have a folder full of 40 700MB videos taking up my previous GB. 2. Should I wait? This is probably the hardest question of all, because in a year I know there will be an improved version, with many extra features as which happens every year? Should I just dive in? I want to buy 160 GB iPod but don't know if it would be easy to manage it. Hard drive on my laptop is 40 GB. Currently I have 4 GB iPod and iTunes keeps all my music on my hard drive, it's 4 GB of music. My laptop's hard drive is pretty full at this point. Then there would be no space to place 160 GB of media to my laptop's hard drive with this new iPod. So how does it work with this 160GB iPod? ok my ipod as of now is a 1ST GENERATION NANO! it's only 1 GB, has no video, and sucks ass basically. time for a new one! i have a lot of money to spend. up to $700. i checked out the apple site and i have to choose between the two, ipod classic 160 GB! and ipod touch. i only want the classic cause it holds like 40,000 songs and it's $349. i really don't want to spend over 400 though so good. but i want teh touch cause of internet and just cause it's cool :) but it doesn't hold very many songs, the cheapest one is $300 and it's 8 GB. so i'd prolly get the 16GB one and it's $400 and that's still not a lot of songs at all. so i MIGHT get the 32GB but it's a huge $500! is it really worth it? is it that good? or should i just stick with classic? help! more

my reason being that i want to be able to watch video, surf the web and do all the cool things the ipod touch can do, i see it as almost like a hand held laptop. is it worth the money though? and for 40$ all i have to do is buy a wireless router and be able to surf the web in the touch wherever i want in my house. and it has a nice big screen. but does not having the click wheel really make you wish you do? someone told me that you get sick of not having one really fast. and is it worth the 299? so what do you think i should do? more

Resolved Question: 40 Gb I-pod Photo problems, not the usual i-pod problem?

Alright, ive looked on here, and apple for answers, and im up to everything but calling the support team. It ran itself dead restarting. When I plug it in on the computer, it shows the sad face, then a battery that does not blink and stays on until it is unplugged. When I unplug it, it restarts a couple times then dies. When I put it on the car charger, I can put it into disk mode after it charges up till full. So its not the hard drive, I would say I can reformat and restore it no problem, but it wont connect to my computer. I unplugged all other devices, restarted, reinstalled software for Ipod, plugged it in disk mode. The cable im using did work once with the ipod till I unplugged it without ejecting, then quit. I have no other cable, but this one works fine with my 30gb ipod video. The video ipod has no problems, but the photo wont recognize anyway i search for it. Not even as a mass storage device. I bought this ipod used, so I cant send it in. Im sure its fine, but what gives more
