Resolved Question: Why does the iPad from Apple suck?

Seriously, I looked at this pile of crap recently, and all I could do was get angry at Apple. What were they thinking? Did they just tape 4 iPod touches together to come up with this? It's the exact same but for a giant. It's very uncreative, and an insult to technology. iPad's spec's: 1ghz CPU, 16 - 64 GB HDD, 9.7inch XGA screen, Mono sound, no USB's no SD slots, no PC card, not even a damned headphone jack! HP TC 1100's spec's (made 7 years ago as a similar touch screen device like iPad) 1.2ghz CPU, 40 - 80GB HDD, 10.4inch XGA screen, stereo sound, 2 USB's, 2 SD slots, 1 PC Card, an RJ45, RJ11, VGA video output and the god-damned headphone jack too the HP TC 1100 from 7 f*cking years ago beats this piece of crap iPad, and no doubt a fraction of it's price nowadays, and Apple seriously expect it's fanbase to buy into iPad? iPad? More like iBad.Bon-gart, it's still a question; Let me clarify, I asked why it's sucking like it is, and explained where it fails, the question is, why the hell are they doing this failed marketing. more

Resolved Question: Ipod stuck in reset mode!!! help!?

Ok this is what happened, my 80gb video ipod was working fine (besides a few glitches and the fact that it was a little slow some times) Then I connected it to A computer to charge, and this computer had no monitor, but that shouldn't matter, but I don't know the state of the computer. Then it went into disk mode and it said "DO NOT DISCONNECT" but I really had to go...so I turned the computer off and as soon as I did it said "OK to disconnect" but it was stuck like that (since its in disk mode) so I reset it, But then it was just stuck in reset mode, and it was incredibly irritating. It just showed the apple logo for awhile, then it like shut off, and when it shut off it made a clicking noise. Then it would turn back on and just repeat. Please help, how can I save my ipod?The middle and menu buttons are my reset buttons, that doesn't work, the reset is what I'm stuck in. I've tried the middle and the rewind button and did all t hat, what can I do? more

I have an 80GB iPod video silver (don't see why the colour is of any importance), and my iTunes won't recognize it. Its not the version of iTunes, as I update it everytime an update is available. And I won't reboot my computer, as there is a problem inside the iPod. There is an Apple store near my house, where they can send it away, but I want to see if there is any help on the internet first. Hi, I recently added some low quality videos to my 80GB Ipod Classic. I understand that Apple now requires that we use their special chord to display the video on the TV. I have a 42 inch TV, and I'm curious as to whether the video quality will be further lessened when displayed on my TV. Resolved Question: Windows 7 + iTunes = Blue Screen of Death?

iTunes, any and every version I've used with my iPod Classic 80GB, has worked on Windows XP & Vista. Since upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium (having changed nothing else), anytime I try to sync my 80GB Classic or brand new Nano 16GB, I get a blue screen and immediate restart. I've tried doing the recommended things from Apple's trouble-shooting and a few others (including installing older versions of iTunes, different USB slots, cables to connect and some suggestions I've found in Googling) to no avail. I'm getting frustrated. I don't know what to do and it feels like there's no fix until maybe there's a new iTunes or new 7 patch or something. If someone can point me in the right direction to the proper fix., whether it be fixing iTunes or the quick fix of an alternative program (that allows you to move songs, video, etc. to your iPod and play them while connected to your computer), I'd really appreciate it. Resolved Question: iPOD Video will not charge!! 10 points leading to a fix!?

I have a 5th gen 80gb ipod video. I accidentally let the battery deplete completely and now whenever i plug the usb charger into the computer nothing happens, the screen stays black. When I plug it into a wall outlet the screen turns on and you see the apple logo along with the backlight but the ipod shuts down completely after like 5 seconds, and repeats. I cant get it to charge. I know if I get a little battery power in the beginning it will charge normally. HELP!When charging on the computer it says "battery very low" but then eventually the screen turns black. more

Resolved Question: My friend's computer crashed because of a virus from an mp3, and now her ipod won't work and she asked me why?

My friend was illegally downloading songs from multiple sites, and her mom refused to buy virus protection for the computer ( bad judgment, i know) and it crashed her computer and wiped out her hard drive. She had a new (then) 6th Gen ipod classic 80gb and shortly afterward refused to work. I asked her symptoms of before it decided not to work, and she said it started glitching songs up, playing wrong songs, playing videos when it was supposed to play songs, and stopping during the middle of a song. It also turned itself on and off. So far i've checked it out and it only goes to the apple logo screen. I've tried accessing diagnostic mode, but it won't let me. If I connect it to a wall charger, it only charges for a little while and then when I restart the ipod it shows the apple logo screen, but then keeps resetting itself over and over again until i guess the battery gets too low. What's going on with the ipod and is it safe to connect to itunes to try and work it out? I think it might have a bad hard drive, but her sister's crashed too and won't turn on either and I think it is unlikely for them both to have fried hardware. One of them has a scraped side from a fall, but the other is fine. THANKS more

Resolved Question: iPod Classic Syncing Problem! Please help~ :]?

Okay, I have a 5G 80GB iPod Classic that's about 5 months old (Mac user, OSX Leopard 10.5.7). It's been working really well until recently when I restored it to the most recent Windows format so it could be shown on both the Mac and Windows interfaces. Now whenever I sync the iPod to my library, the iPod starts adding files, until a certain point (i.e. Song 2,456) and just freezes on that file, with a constant number of space left (i.e. 68.4 GB left). I also noticed that when I add videos in the same fashion, the "available space" number (i.e. the same 68.4 GB left) is always the same. I restored the iPod many times (back to Mac format) and used Disk Utility to repair/erase the disk, but it keeps freezing at that one point and never goes on whenever I restart syncing it. I have the latest iTunes firmware too. I kind of think there's something wrong with the hard drive at that certain space which causes no further files to be put on. Anybody else have this problem? Is there a way I can solve this problem by checking the hard drive (when I had a previous iPod, the genius bar at Apple person used this method to check the hard drive and determined it was fried and completely replaced it)? It's not under warranty anymore, so I can't take it back. Is there another solution? Please help!~ :] Thanks!!! >w< more

I have an iPod Video, black and 80gb. For some reason, I never got around to using it. It's brand new, still in its original factory plastic and everything. Okay so, I'm sortof an idiot and put my ipod (video,80GB) in my soccer bag during a game while it was pouring rain, and the water soaked through. Resolved Question: iPod malfunctioning. USB device not recognized.?

I have a odd issue with my iPod. After some searching I found that this is a popular problem but mine did not fit anyone elses exactly, so I am going to ask all of you for help. I have an 80GB Ipod Video 4th or 5th gen and I've had it for a few years. Just a few weeks ago it stopped connecting to my computer. Yes, I tried all of Apple's troubleshooting "The 5 R's" and what not. No success. I uninstalled all of my USB devices from device manager and reinstalled them. still no beans. I also tried connecting to my girlfriends computer, which she uses her iPod on without a problem, same error message. USB device not recognized or has malfunctioned... something to that effect. Both computers are running vista, i have not tried connecting to an XP but it may be pointless because we have the same ipod and hers works on vista (this also rules out any firewire issues because we share a cable). Now, here is where i am baffled. My car has an ipod connection that plugs in where you would plug your firewire and i can control the ipod with my stereo. I can go through playlists, artists, songs, etc. flawlessly but it just will not connect to a computer. I uninstalled itunes and reinstalled, rebooted my laptop 5 times, connected the ipod in disc mode... every possible troubleshooting process i could find. does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?I've tried all of that. I used the same cable on my girlfriends ipod on my computer and it worked fine. I've reset the ipod 20 times reconnected it 15 and restarted my computer 10. If you read, i have windows vista. and my laptop is HP. I didnt buy it from bestbuy and its been about 3 years. more

My Ipod video (80Gb) works fine, though after around 5 min of using it the screen starts to act up (even if its just charging) and the colours become inverted and if i leave it on any longer the image on the screen begins to jump up and down a little bit. Voting Question: Ipod Classic 6th Gen not detected in iTunes? I've reset and restored it and iTunes says cannot be identified?

On my 80GB Black Ipod Classic 6th Gen, I noticed that it kept freezing on me and wouldn't allow me to play certain audio/video files. I put it in iTunes to restore it and it wouldn't show up. I tried to access it from 'My Computer' (I have Windows Vista -- using an HP laptop) but the windows kept freezing on the computer. When I disconnected the iPod, it unfroze. If I leave the iPod in for a while, it pops up saying that it cannot be identified. I've put it in Disk Mode and tried to restore it from there. It worked the first time I tried it, but failed while syncing my media. I keep trying to connect it, but iTunes cannot detect it. I need to restore it and fix this issue. I've never had this problem before it and is unusual. I've tried looking at Apple.com forum (my warranty is up on the iPod and Apple won't assist me) but nothing seems to help. Resolved Question: Ipod connecting to a TV?

Hi all. I bought an 80Gb Ipod Classic last year and wanted to connect it to a TV. So I bought the Apple AV Component Cables from Dick Smith and hooked it all up, but when it comes up on the screen it is divided into two halves. The video plays twice at the same time! the image on the left has a little bit of the far left image cut off and the same goes for the right with the right hand image. I have been to Dick Smith, replaced the cables and still the same thing. I rang Apple and they couldn't help. I took it back to DS and plugged it into their TV's and it worked fine! both ipod and cables! I returned the DS cables and bought them from JB-hi-fi and the colour was better and sound clearer, but still split. Then i rang an IT help place and they had no idea either! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! I'd expect better from Apple! No-one knows why my 3 TV's at home all come up split but the DS ones are perfect! I really need help! more

I've tried using two different a/v cables, one just a regular rca cable and the other a Dynex iPod compatible a/v cable. Both failed. Can I even get video on my TV with an iPod classic 80GB? If I can, is there a cheaper way other than buying the overly priced Apple composite a/v cable? Also, I've already tried using different combinations when setting up the a/v cables, so I don't think that is going to work. more

Hey, I got an iPod Classic 120GB suprise Christmas present having had 1 or 2 problems with my 30GB video, one of which being out of capacity. Anyhow, I haven't been keeping up with the latest advances in Apple iPods and it appears that every iPod Classic case is suited to either the for 80GB or 160GB capacity, and I think the latter must've been discontinued. Anyhow, from the select few 120GB-suitable cases on the market, does anyone have any recommendations from knowledge/personal experience for I buy one I might be disappointed with? And has anyone got any headphone recommendations for me also, preferably in-ear headphones. The Sennheiser CX300s I used in compliance with my 30GB Video have worn and the white discoloured. i want to buy a mp3/mp4 player. now, i have done considerable research into this matter but im still confused. these are my MINIMUM requirements: at least 16GB hard drive (can be upto 80GB.. i dont mind) 2" screen video player at least 4 hours video life suitable for everyday use I have looked into the following brands and found the folowing conclusions: apple : i like the ipod range just as much everybody else does but... 1. the ipod shuffle is out of the question.. 2. i like the ipod video but they are a bit huge and chunky for everyday use 3. the ipod nano (16gb version) is ok, i dont have a problem with it. sony: i actually love the S series 16Gb Sony NWZ-S639F, and i dont have any problem with it. zen : i have looked at their creative series, but none of the reviews i looked at were favourable. all of them mentioned the confusing menus and other stuff i hate. Now do any of you have any suggestions as to this matter? i prefer the sony NWZ-S639F to the ipod 16gb because it has 40 hours battery life too. Is there any other excellent mp3 player which i missed out? Which one should i buy? My price range is upto £150 ($300)am i a idiot or something! plz give me more details when you answer like details, darn! the ipod touch is good but it is not suitable for everyday use. it is a touchscreen ffs.i dont want any cool apps! i dont care if itunes is ok or not. i know how to use a computer, and i will put the music in by any means necessary. oh and by the way, i use my mp3 player everyday, while im on my bike (cycle) whil playing tennis and while in the gym. so, thats why i dont want something chunky and big like the ipod touch. more

Resolved Question: What does the iPod warranty cover?

I have the new black iPod 80gb video. I've had it for about 4 months, and about yesterday, it has said (when in iTunes) 'Please restore iPod' so I do, and it still says it cannot be fixed. It also sayd error 1430, which when I looked up, means the hard drive is done. The warranty I have with Apple, the one year one, expires next year. Will they replace it for me? more

Resolved Question: iPod 80GB Video Cracks underneath the surface..?

I bought my iPod 80GB Video last June, and about a month after I got it, weird cracks started forming in the glass/cover of it. I've dropped it once, but that was after they started appearing. It didn't do anything to it visibly, and it still works fine. Now the cracks have gotten a lot worse, and we took it in two months ago, to BestBuy. The guy there said that he hadn't seen anything like it before, and that if we wanted to see if it was covered under the warranty, I'd have to send it out for six to eight weeks to the Apple Service Centre or whatever. Now, he also said that, while he believes me that they started on their own, that they might deem it physical damage from me. I know this isn't true, and I don't want to have a cracked up iPod for the next few years. Has this happened to anyone else? Or something similar? more
