its kinda long but if anyone can help me i will give best answer to the first person to help fix the problem. step by step, if possible, please. btw i have a pc ok so i have a 30 gb video ipod, and yester day i plugged it into my itunes and it erased all my videos saying that my ipod couldn't play videos, which is bull. (this is also the first time that it happened). (this is the major problelm, just saying, like if i can't fix anything else but this for right now thats ok. all problems to come are a result of this.) ok so i figured that since i haven't updated itunes in a while (like i still have version 7 something) that i would update. when i tried to do that, i got error message saying invalid drive f:/ when i searched for this problem online to fix it, everyone said search registry for f:/ which i did and found nothing. now im trying regcure but i googled that just to be sure it wouldn't crash my pc or anything and found many complaints. so does anybody know whats going on?? and does anyone know if regcure is good or not?? i know that was kind of long so thx in advance i would delete the program and reinstall it, but im afraid i wont be allowed because of the invalid drive F:/ thing more

Open Question: Videos on iTunes? Size?

Apparently iTunes only shows the size of an entire episode for a tv show. I would just like to know what is the average size of a 23-25 minute episode of a show (like a cartoon on iTunes) (like 30 minute episode) And the average size of a 53 minute (hour long episode) of a show on iTunes? It will help me decide how many I could put on an iPod Touch and what size to get (debating 16GB and 32GB) Thanks for the help! more

Open Question: iPod Classic or Touch?

Which should I consider investing in? iPod Touch (8GB) or Classic? Both of them (to me) have their own draws. For example, the Classic has A LOT of storage space. 120GB? Way more than enough. I'm not too big on putting videos on it, and I'll be removing songs I no longer listen to. I'm a photographer, but probably won't be putting more than 30-50 pictures on it. A few podcasts, maybe. But the only thing that really draws me to the iPod Touch is that it has WiFi access. I honestly don't care for the touch interface (I bought my kid brother a nano and I really like the spinwheel), but the WiFi is a serious plus. I haven't really played with either, so those of you who have either (or have used both), what are your opinions? Since the Touch isn't a complete computer, you probably can't access all sites, but how limited are you? If you install a few apps on the Touch, will they take up a lot of space? Also, how is the battery life for both?? A few more details: WiFi is really common in the area I live in. And if one lags (freezes up) more than the other, that might be a big turn off because I'm not patient. Also, I'd like some explanations please. More than just "get the ipod touch cuz it's cool." more

Open Question: iPod Classic quieter than old video?

I just got the new, 120 gb iPod classic for Christmas. It's real nice and in good shape, and it's great. But one thing bothers me...it seems like the volume is just generally quieter than my old 30 gb iPod video. I keep finding myself turning it up a lot more than I used to, to get a subpar sound... And then I decided to compare. Using the same headphones, the same EQ settings, the same volume level (50%), I tested out the same song intro on both iPods. And my Classic definitely seems quieter...is this a general difference that people tend to notice, or is mine defectice? Any other tips to even it out? more

i have a 30 gb iPod video. not a classic or anything, just an ipod video. i downloaded an album off of itunes which has songs and a couple of videos. when i downloaded it it put everything(including the music videos) into my music playlist and i cant figure out a way to get the videos into my movies playlist. when i added the album to my ipod it did the same thing. i can copy the videos but it wont let me paste them into the movies playlist. Open Question: album artwork error on ipod?

so the other day i ripped 5 new cds onto itunes. all the necessary artwork was showing up in itunes but when i put it onto my 30 GB ipod video it wasn't there. i had also bought songs from the itunes store and those album artwork wouldn't show either. so i was looking around for help as to how to fix that problem and i came across a post that said to check and recheck the display artwork thing and to apply it each time because it optimizes the artwork when you do it. so i did that and it would say that it was optimizing and part way it would stop and say "The iPod cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-50)." so now NONE of my artwork is showing, even the ones that i had before on my ipod. it shows in itunes but not on my ipod. what do i do? i'm getting really pissed off because my ipod has been being so stupid lately cuz it won't charge properly. PLEASE HELP!! more

I have a bunch of h.264 videos in my iTunes. They play fine and are great... but when i try to put them onto my 5th Gen. Video iPod (30 GB), it says that it could not be put on because it "could not be played" by my iPod. This started happening in like June or something, i dunno... I have H.264 videos on my ipod that work, and i put those on my ipod in like June or something... now, however, I can't put H.264 videos on anymore... I have an IPOD touch, and it takes MP4, well I always try to convert my videos to Best quality and my audio best too! well when done it sounds like crap, and there's either...A. the audio sound comes b4 the video or B. the audio lags behind the actual video. And what's the FPS for a 1080p video or HD BluRay video? I think DVD FPS is 24-30 Frames Per Second. I'm simply trying to get the BEST quality for movies to put on my ipod touch that's it. i am considering making the switch from ipod to zune. why, you ask? well, i lost my old 30 gig ipod video and i have yet to replace it. but now it's time to upgrade my two year old moto razr for a new phone. i'm considering getting a (non-apple) smartphone, most of which now include mp3 players. i want to be able to put tracks on my phone, and i don't want to have to hassle with keeping two seperate music libraries; an itunes and a pc based. my question is in regards to transferring my itunes library. most of my itunes library is imported from existing disks which i still have in storage. i only have about 50 tracks actually purchased from itunes. i've heard all it takes to get those itunes songs is to rip them to a cd and then import them to the pc based player. as for the over 4000 tracks of self imported music not bought off itunes can it simply be taken off itunes and put on the new player, or do i have to go get those old disks out of storage and painstakingly import them all over again? more

Here is what you do, for all of those searching for how to get a video onto your iPod when that message appears: In iTunes, click once on the video you wish to put onto your iPod. At the top of iTunes, go to Advanced > Create iPod or iPhone Version. Select that, and then iTunes will convert your video so it will be able to go onto your iPod! May take about 30 mins. or longer but it's one of the only and few ways! WAIT, I DID THIS AND THERES NO SOUND! NO SOUND! WHAT THE!!!! HOW CAN I GET SOUND!!! more

Resolved Question: My iPod keeps freezing, is there anything that I can do?

I have a 5th Generation iPod video, 30 GB, and what not. Two days ago, I added several new albums to it, and it worked fine for a day. Then, the next day, it kept freezing. At first, I thought it was just after every song, but now realize it does it randomly (sometimes at the beginning of a song, sometimes mid-way through a song, sometimes when I'm in the menu). Unless I force restart the iPod, it will continue playing the song until the end (the screen won't be responsive, I can't do anything, but the song still plays), then it won't load another song (obviously). However, the strangest part is that after about 10 or 15 minutes, it will start up again, all on it's own. It won't restart, it will just continue to the next song. My friend told me it might be because of the new music, because it happened to him (with the same model iPod), however, unlike his incident, mine didn't start immediately doing it after I added the songs. What advice do you guys have? more

My uncle has an Ipod that's an 8GB, and its an Mp4. I have an Ipod classic thats an 80GB, but it's a Mp3. The thing is I dont get why my Ipod is an Mp3 and not a Mp4, because mine has 20'000 song space, has 30 hours battery space, and you can download videos onto it. The reason I know/think my Ipod is an Mp3, is because on Amazon, all the reviews are along the lines of "This is a great Mp3!" So what makes my uncles ipod an Mp4 when its only an 8GB? Thanks more

Okayy can someone please tell my whats wrong with my ipod? I have a video ipod 30 GB. i do download off of limewire but it was okay until one night when i fell asleep with it in. I have tons of trinkets from everywhere under the sun that i can't throw away but look dingy I have a PSP and Nintendo DS with games I have a laptop and discs for it I have a zillion USBS and chargers i have tons of headphones and earbuds I have a bunch of poster boards from school I have tons of giftcards I have over a hundred novels and research books I have like 20 pillows I have a zillion backpacks and bags and purses I have about 5 full size suitcases I have about 50 cds I have a ridiculous amount of bras, undies, t-shirts, socks, pjs,sweats, jeans, nice tops, casual tops, school uniforms, swimsuits I have tons of electronic things like an ipaq cell phone ipod video games I have about 15 porcealin dolls i have to keep still in the boxes I have tons of school work and projects I have tons of stuffed animals Tons of shoes Tons of photos letters and awards About 20 journals and i use them all a collection of 30 snowglobes Many belts, jewelry, scarves and gloves A lot of games and cards Many magazines Lots of makeup, perfumes, and lotions How can I organize it all? Yesterday, I found out that my mom bought me an 8 GB iPod Touch for my birthday. My current 5th Generation iPod (it's broken now) holds 30 GB, and I use most of it for videos. I have 4 movies and various TV shows on it. I have about 200 more or less songs on it. I know that the iPod touch has applications on it. What I want to know is, how much space will about 10-15 apps take up? And also, how much will about 300 songs and 6 hours of video take up? And a few photos? What I'm basically asking is how much will the 8 GB model hold? Just curious. more

Voting Question: My 30 gig iPod Video isn't turning on. Please Help!!!!!!?

Okay, I'll tell you all that I know. First off i recognized the problem while watching Sonic The Movie on my iPod 5g and i wanted to see how much more of the movie was left so I pressed the center button, which froze my iPod. Next, for the next 3 weeks or so I tried to get it going, by Menu+Center. All of the times I got it back on... I either made the mistake of pressing the center button again, while it was on the apple logo, or I didn't hook it up to the computer and restore it.(DUH!!!) Just yesterday I got it back on, this time i figured out it was a loose gold contact. (Before you ask, I Do think I May have broke something, but i'm not sure if it matters, it was a tan-ish strip on top of a gold contact.) But i was very stupid and i didn't restore it, I put songs on it. The last thing that might matter is I left it alone for about 1/2 a week and right when I went to plug it in, it turned on. I have a 30GB Ipod Video(5th Generation) that have had for several years now...The battery now only lasts for about 30-45 minutes where it use to last for hours and hours. Is there anyway I can fix/replace the battery? Also, several months ago the center of my click wheel started sticking and I now have to push it down really hard, is there anyway to fix this?
