so i just got my new ipod, its the 4th gen nano. i uploaded some MPEG4 videos onto my itunes which plays perfectly fine. when i sync the videos to my ipod they show up, however when i try to play them, you hear a fraction second of the sound from the video and it goes back to the "movies" menu. i used to have a 60GB video ipod in which these same videos would work. i would just right-click on the video and itunes would convert them and they worked perfectly fine on my 60GB. *I have the latest version of itunes *I have the latest software for my ipod help? more

So, for Christmas, the only thing on my list is the new iPod Nano. Well, yeah I guess it's not too new anymore, but for the past three years, I've had a black 60GB iPod Video. I really like it but I think it's time for a change. The Nano has nice colours, and I can't make up my mind between the blue or the green, but I'm thinking about going with the blue. I dowloaded Quantum of Solace in m4v format to put on my ipod, yet now it won't let me. I downloaded Mamma Mia in exactly the same format with near identical spec a few days ago and it went on fine. I have the old 60Gb video. But now It won't let me put videos on. I know it's not a video problem because I've borrowed my brother's nano and they go on there. It connected o.k in the morning,added a few tracks and ejected ipod as you should. Came to use it later on and it is making whirring and clicking noise. I have tried to reset,hold switch on-off-centre button-menu on ipod.Apple icon flashes on then goes off as if not able to fully boot up. So switched to disk mode centre button and play-pause.It now will show up in my computer and when I right click it says to reset using itunes which then boots up. But I have had it connected for about an hour and it won't show my ipod in itunes to be able to reset. There is no warranty on it and other than taking it to repair (cost). I was thinking of buying a new one and selling this one but to have it repaired just to sell is gutting. Has anybody else had this problem and what happened to fix,and roughly how much for repair???? more

I want to get an ipod touch to replace my macbook (its still fine I just would rather carry an ipod touch to school for internet and e-mail then a 5LB macbook). But I thought that after the OS space on the 8GB and the lost space (it never actually is what its listed as. My 60GB video is only a 55GB) that an 8GB wont be sufficient. Hiya, I have a 60GB iPod classic which is gradually filling up with music and movies but I keep all my music, films etc. on my Dell laptop which only has an 80GB harddrive. Can I buy an external harddrive and store all of my music and videos on this rather than directly onto my laptop so it doesn't get bogged down by all of the files? Also if I can do this will I still be able to listen to the music and stuff stored on the external harddrive via. iTunes on my laptop? I basically use my laptop as a desktop pc anyway so it rarely gets moved, but if I do move it and have to unplug the external harddrive will I lose all my music or will I be able to plug it straight back in and continue listening? My ipod speakers didn't work, no matter what earphones I tried, so I pulled open my Ipod but as I did, the connector that connects the hold button to the hard drive fell out. I now have lost that, and I am unable to listen to music or use the hold button. I tried to take it in to be fixed, but apparently it costs as much to buy a new one as it does to fix it.
