Resolved Question: Help using iPod with car?

Is there any way to plug my iPod video into a 2003 Chevy Suburban without any other accessories besides a two sided audio cable (one side that can plug into my iPod and the other into an audio jack)? I plugged my iPod into the audio jack between the driver and passenger seat and I got it to play only on the other audio jack (using earphones). Is there a station that it should work on so I can play it using the car's stereo system? ANY help is much appreciated and thank you!Keep in mind that I don't want to buy any other accessories. more

Resolved Question: Some basic iPod Nano questions?

Since my old mp3 player has a huge crack in it, freezes constantly, and has limited quality, I've opted to look into a nano. I do have a couple pretty basic questions, though. 1) Is it possible to upload Limewire-downloaded songs onto the nano? I've read a couple different opinions on this. Will it work if I import the songs into iTunes? 2) Anything else I need to be aware of when considering the nano? Pros, cons - even personal opinions or experiences? 3) I'm getting some accessories, which include: wall charger, duo headphone audio splitter, small speaker, car stereo cable, etc. Anything else I should be looking into, accessory-wise? 4) Completely random question! Which color: purple, green, blue, or yellow? I personally like purple... PS: Don't suggest the video iPod. I've got a '99 Plymouth Neon with a basic audio system... meaning just plain old AM/FM Radio. I've also got a Fifth Generation Video iPod. I do not have a cassette player or CD player or auxiliary jack. This is just the bare bones basic radio setup. Is it possible to hook up and play music from iPod through this ancient stereo system by using any sort of wires/accessories for the cigarette lighter? Or are there any other ways to do this besides replacing the stereo system? If there are products that I can buy, could you please provide the names and brands of these accessories or URLs? more

Voting Question: How to fix a car's loose DC / accessory outlet?

I use my car's accessory outlet to play / charge my iPod off an FM transmitter. But recently, the iPod randomly cuts out (automatically pauses when the power turns off, so it would just stop whenever I hit a bump no matter how small). I've found that if I pull the transmitter dock towards me and hold it there while driving, the power does not get cut on the outlet, so it's definitely not a fuse issue. To test this theory, I unplugged the FM transmitter, and noticed that I could jiggle the outlet forward and backward. Any ideas on how I can keep the outlet still / hold it in position? I can shoot a quick little video of how it jiggles / what it looks like, if necessary. more

I am taking a school trip to Washington D.C. and was wondering if anyone knows an accessory for the iPod Touch that can make the battery last longer. And PLEASE no one say "Car Adapter," as I can not plug in a car adapter on a school bus. The trip is 9-12 hours long and I would like to watch video almost the whole way to the hotel. If anyone knows of a battery pack or something similar that I can plug into my iPod, that would be greatly appreciated. more

Voting Question: Is there any ipod accessories that will output videos to a S-Vid Cable?

We have a portable car video system where the two monitors have S-Vid cables. One of my kids poured a pop on the dvd player so that doesn't work anymore. I was wondering if there was some sort of adapter (and hopefully charger) that would allow the monitor(s) to play movies I have on my ipod during a family trip. more

so i'm looking to purchase an MP3 player- it doesn't necessarily have to be an "iPod" i was looking online one called "zune" they sell it at wal mart- it got really good reviews. I want one that can hold a lot of songs and one thing that i really want it to do is be able to store movies and tv shows. i know for the ipod you can buy series and things like that. I bought an ipod for my boyfriend and i pre-loaded all the music and videos and pictures, it was awesome, except I dropped about 400 dollars on it. and i really don't want to spend that much money. but yea, the fetures that i want are: 1. able to hold a lot of music 2. able to download, pictures, movies and videos 3. reasonable price 4. To find the right accessories. I'm looking for something I can plug into my car's cigarette lighter that will play the iPod. My brother has one, but he has a first generation video iPod, so even if he gave it to me, it wouldn't fit with a second generation iPod nano. Does anybody make an accessory like this for the new nano, or should I ask for a second generation regular iPod instead?I think I remember hearing somewhere that the FM transmitters don't work that well, especially when you're traveling. Is there a product that allows the iPod to run independently from the radio?I was able to find a couple of good-sounding adapters online, but they required a cassette player, which my car doesn't have. So anything involving a cassette player isn't an option. more
