Open Question: I need help with my iPod(s)...?

OK this is pretty long and possibly confusing, so here goes... 2 years ago, I got a 20GB iPod for Christmas. This iPod could play songs only (no video, etc.) I've been using it for 2 years and have like 400 songs on it. Today is my parents' anniversary and my mom got my dad a new iPod Nano with video and photos and everything. We gave it to my dad and he said "why don't we trade iPods?" He doesn't really care about the video, he just wants to put a bunch of his songs on an iPod. We have 2 computers.One is in my basement with all my iTunes on it. The other is upstairs with no iTunes on it, just a bunch of my dad's songs on Windows Media Player... My question is, how do I delete all of my songs off of my old iPod while keeping all of my iTunes on my basement computer and then start the old iPod over on my dad's upstairs computer for him? Do I need the old iTunes disc to start it over on the upstairs computer (which has never had iTunes on it before)? Also, can I just put the new iPod into my basement computer using a USB and get all of my songs onto it? I know this is long so thanks to anyone who wants to help... more

okay so i bought a 30bg 5th gen. ipod video from my friend for 50 bucks. for a couple of days it worked fine but yesterday one of my headphone speakers cut out for no apparent reason. at first i thought it was the headphones but they worked fine on another ipod(they are skull candy in-ear headphones). i can only get both right and left speakers to sound if i apply pressure on the base of the headphones where it connects with the ipod so it touches the back of the headphone plug-in. so my question is, is there any way to put tin-foil or something on the jack to increase its width so it touches the whole inside of the jack, or any other ways/ideas? For the venerable animation giant, the move is a significant bet on Pixar's digital approach as the successor to the pen-and-ink industry popularized by Walt Disney. We made the trade and the "nano video ipod" just turned out to be some cheap chinese imitation that was running for about 100 dollars in electronics stores around my city.
