I just updated my ipod touch to ios4 software and have no problems other than: the apple website says that, with the update, ipods are able to multitask and change the background. I have watched a video explaining how to do each of these and found out that my ipod can't. The video showed that you can multitask by pressing the home button twice(didn't work) and that, when you go into settings/wallpaper, you'll see an option to either change the home screen or the wallpaper(I don't) PLEASE HELP! more

So ok I connect my Ipod to my mac and the first message pops up: "There are purchased items on the ipod "Bruno's ipod" that have not been transferred to your Itunes library. You should transfer these items to your itunes library before updating this ipod. Are you sure you want to continue" At first I thought meh I can download all the apps after the update but when I click "continue" this message pops up: "Updating to iOS 4.0 will delete all media. Including itunes store purchases, to preserve your media apply this update on the computer where you sync music, videos and photos. Updating on this computers will only preserve apps, contacts, calendars, text messeges, and other settings. Please do not interrupt the update which may take an hour or longer to complete, itunes will verify the software update with apple" Please help me I don't know if I should update my ipod or not. Open Question: how much does it cost for the lowest iPhone 4 plan?

i don't text, i rarely use the phone, but i really need the mobile internet capability of the iPhone (i can't use an iTouch). how much would the monthly fee for the phone be if i had minimal minutes, no texting, and the data plan? i'm 13 and im going to be getting my first cell phone. i can make maybe $350-$450 a month, but i don't want to spend more than $100 a month on phone service. DON'T tell me i'm too young to have an iPhone! this is the 21st Century!!!! WHY don't any of you allow any change! this is how the world works! CHANGE. just because "we didn't have these fancy schmancy machines when i was a youngin'" doesn't mean we can't have them now. how about this, a couple hundred years ago, if a woman wore pants (not a dress) she was considered to be rebellious and disrespectful. NOW, women who wear pants aren't viewed as any different from the others. i believe that the same thing is for today's controversy against teenagers owning electronic devices. in 150 yrs-200 yrs, we will all wonder what was wrong with us. while i do acknowledge some of the dangers of teens owning personal internet devices (pornog.raphy, internet stalkers, identity theft etc.) i think the positives (learning from the internet, using for emergencies, useful apps like the unit converter, etc.) far outweigh the dangers. and if you're careful, you won't run into any of the dangers. iPhones are great learning devices. i have an iPod Touch 2G, and i learned more from that awesome little device than i learned from school or books in my entire life! you all fail to realize the potential of these magnificent devices. many of you will probably ask how i make all this money, well, here it is: i make my money by doing yard work for my parents and relatives, and doing random odd jobs around the neighborhood. i doo very well in school too (straight A's and B's) so i reel in a respectable sum every couple months to reward my good work and behavior. i also make about the other 60% of my money by sending in video's i have made using my Mac Pro to contests. i make special effects videos and i send them in to various contests a couple times a month. i usually win because my videos are of almost professional quality, and i intend to be a film director or editor when i grow up. i also save most of my money too. i keep it for years on end to buy hugely expensive things. i saved for 3 years to buy my Mac Pro (2.66hz 8-Core Intel Xenon) and 1 1/2 years for my 15" MacBook Pro Core i7, which i JUST bought, and it is amazing. i am now saving for a 30" Apple HD display to accompany one of my old DELL displays. i would also of course pay for the iPhone and the monthly fee. please be open minded about all of this. i'm just sharing my thoughts. haha, sorry that this is turning into more of a lecture than a Yahoo question, but i just thought i'd give you all a piece of my mind, and show you the truth, because i asked this question 4 times before, and ALL i got was a bunch of angry adults telling my i'm too young for an iPhone (or a cellular phone, for that matter)................ please...... don't do that again....... i don't want to have to ask this Question again.... ITUNES!! I never personally used itunes converter but I'm trying it now, because I have a video formatted in mp4 but it won't go onto 2 ipod, and I use youtube downloader. But since the video won't go on2 my ipod I went 2 the video and right clicked>Create iPod or iPhone Version or Create iPad or Apple TV version. then it starts converting Why won't people use this method instead of downloading all those converting softwares???? Open Question: Do I have to buy AT&T service with an iPhone?

I am looking at buying an iPod, but I noticed on Apple's website that they are soon going to release the brand new iPhone 4. The new iPhone 4 is really appealing to me because it takes pictures and HD Video and has a higher memory capacity than the same price iPod. By this I mean that the iPhone 4 that takes pictures, HD Video and has 16 GB of memory is $199, while the iPod touch only plays music and video and apps and has only 8 GB of memory at also $199. I know that the iPhone is cheaper because they expect you to get at&t service with it. I'm okay with getting the iPhone and only using like an iPod - to listen to music, watch videos, surf the web, etc. But for the same price, I would rather get the iPhone. My question is, will I be able to walk into the Apple store and just outright buy the iPhone 4? Or will they not let me buy it because I can't get the service?Aw man, I can't believe I didn't think of that! I forgot that I have to get a two year contract with the phone for the price to be only $200. Never mind then. I'll just get the iPod. So i was using my ipod as normal, watching youtube videos and whatnot, when i saw that my ipod was red so i went to charge it. but it wouldn't charge for some reason, so i used my sisters charger and it still didn't charge. and that when i saw that the inside of where you put the charger was dented, you know how you look through that little hole where you put your charger in, and you see all of this yellow, orange lines, and they are all straight? well mines wasn't so it wouldn't charge. and i can't send it to apple because i don't have warranty. so is there like someone i can send it to? thxs! i appreciate it!:)oh and if you don't mind could you make sure it isn't too expensive? i'm trying to save money. thxs.. again!oh and my ipod is an 3rd generation touch more

Open Question: Big problems with my iPod Classic ever since I bought it. Please Help!!!?

My iPod Classic (160 GB) has been having several issues lately... When I bought it in January, I had it set to "Manually Manage songs and videos". Every week or so, I had to restore it because iTunes said it was corrupt and could not be fixed without restoring it. (Restoring it takes 5-6 hours when there's nothing hindering me due to my 130GB library of music and videos) However, when I restored it, it often didn't work, say there was a -50 error before it could finish restoring. I then would put the iPod into disc mode (Menu+Select>Play+Select) and attempt again. After several tries, this fixed it. Now, I am syncing my iPod to my computer. I have had to restore it once or twice over the last 2 months, but the situation is not as major as it was before. Several problems do occur every time I sync my iPod to the computer though - when my iPod is done syncing all my songs videos and podcasts, it SHOULD sync my games. However, every time I sync my games the message "iTunes could not sync the game "______" to the iPod "The Titanic" because an unknown error occurred (-1392)." (None of my 5 games sync). When I click the "OK" button, another message pops up. This one reads "The iPod "The Titanic" cannot be synced. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." But all of my new music and updated podcasts are on the iPod. Just not the games. The third problem I've had is that the genius feature on my iPod classic doesn't work. I am constantly updating it with iTunes and syncing it to my iPod, but when I attempt a genius playlist it always says "Genius is unavailable for the selected song." Genius works perfectly fine with my iTunes, just not with the iPod. I have attempted restoring my iPod several times; all that happens is the aforementioned all over again. There is not a problem with my computer, because my family owns 4 seperate iPods/iPhones/iTouches and they all work perfectly normally with iTunes. I really don't want to have to send my iPod back to Apple because I'm afraid they'll say there was something I did to it (which I have not done - I have a case, and have never dropped it or gotten it wet) that caused it to malfunction. Also, even though it has a 1 year warranty, apparently I am not permitted to talk to an apple employee about these issues for reasons I haven't figured out yet. It could cost me Apple's estimate of $130 to get it fixed if these problems don't fall within the warranties limitations. Please help me fix it without telling me to restore or send back to apple! more

Resolved Question: Itunes library has disappeared.?

I recently had my computer rebooted. So I had to re-download all of the programmes for my computer, including iTunes. I checked on the Apple website, and your iTunes are kept on the internet, under your email account, so it shouldn't matter if you have to delete it etc. However, I've downloaded it, signed into my iTunes, and nothing. Ive got all the default songs; please tell me that the £400 worth of songs and videos hasnt disappeared into cyber space? I don't want to plug my iPod in incase it wipes it clean and I have nothing. So I have an iPod touch 8gb and lately when I try to sync it, it says that it's full so I visited the apple site and did some calculations and realized I suppose to have 6 hours 40 mins of video 1333 songs left 9732 photos left so obviously it suppose to have more room so what can I do about this it's becoming very frustrating. & btw the only apps I have on my ipod are weather channel and dictionary besides this I have setting, clock, calendar, calculator, notes weather, apps store, nikki, stocks, contacts, maps, youtube, mail, and safari so why is it doing this? more

I decided to leave it but then another screen came up saying it hadn't downloaded it. But it had. I clicked on itunes. All my songs from my computer was sorted and videos.... I plugged in my ipod touch the picture on the ipod touch screen is a cable pointing to a cd and music note that says itunes. The battery bar has a docked icon and is green. The little pop up sign came up in the bottom right hand corner of my computer. It said that a camera was connected. I clicked on it and asked if there was a cd that came with my product, there wasn't i clicked next and it said it found an apple ipod and that it had succesfully installed. Still not showing on itunes. I unplugged it and tried it again and sugggestions come up but it's all for cameras. It's not a camera! I've tried restarting the computer and ipod. Putting it in every hole in the damn computer. Installed itunes about 20 times and it still says the same thing. I also tried this start, run and msconfig. No change! I recently received an ipad only to realize flash is not supported just like the iPhone, iPod touch. I know apple is against adobe which is fine but I'm confused about a few things. What exactly is html5? When will it be available is widespread use? Will apps have to be created by each website to view the content for videos and such to work (like I will have to wait for a hulu app)? A few websites would be really awesome on this thing but almost all my favorite websites are run by flash... I ordered an ipod nano 5th generation(black) off ebay a week ago and now I got it. I got an authentic ipod nano! It feels like plastic. The edges are not curvy. It has a camera but on the wrong side. The 5th generation ipod nano can use lots of photo effect, this one can't but take pictures! I can't even view videos I downloaded, just only view videos I took. The screen is small as well. The guy that I bought it from actually managed to paint the apple sign on the back to make it seem real. The earplugs came with it are not from Apple! I know a lot about the ipod nano 5th generation, so do not think I'm crazy. I got a authentic ipod. How do I report this seller and get my money back? more

Hi, I'm looking for a new MP3 player and I'm not sure what to get. I was looking at the Microsoft Zune HD 3.3" Black 16GB MP3 / MP4 Player because it is the Microsoft version of the IPod touch and I really hate Apple. I'm not sure if it is right for me because you have to use the Microsoft software and because some features aren't as good as the same features as the IPod touch. Here is a list I want it to have. 1. I have always been able to view my downloaded videos from itunes on my ipod and now when I try to view them I get the message "TV Out Enabled .....please connect video accessory". Voting Question: My iTouch won't sync?

I've been having problems with iTunes lately, so I figured that maybe this was just something to do with that. But now that I have iTunes back and working, my iTouch still won't sync. So, today I bought a few episodes from a TV show, but they don't appear under the 'Videos' section of my iPod. On iTunes, my iPod is listed under 'Devices' and it still charges, so I guess it's connected? It just won't sync? When I click 'Sync', iTunes says that it is doing so for maybe five seconds, but none of my new episodes have appeared on my iPod when it's done. I've tried to find a solution online, but the best I've been able to find is instructions telling me to hold down the middle and menu buttons at the same time. As I have an iTouch, I can't press down these buttons. Apple.com hasn't been any help. Does anyone know how I can fix this? more

I have had a ipod nano (the squarish ones) for a long time. And I used it everyday. I recently got a ipod touch (like 4 days ago). I like the touch and all but I don't think i'll use the apps and I don't watch that many videos. I mainly use my ipod just for music. I now feel the touch wasn't really worth buying (well, for me) although I like it. Can we return it if there is not problem with it's hardware? Should I return it? I don't use the internet on it. But it was pretty pricy for me. (Rs.12400 which is $275.28) I bought in it in an apple store in India. Where as I got the old ipod in the US. If that makes any difference more
