He plays the guitar and he doesn't like to sing in front of people, but he borrowed my ipod and made a video of him playing A Walk Through Hell by Say Anything and singing for me. He learns my favorite songs on guitar just so he can play them for me. I want to do something special for him. But I'm really limited on what I can do. I have twenty dollars. I want to tell him I love him, but I'm not sure if he's ready for me to say it. But I know I love him. All I want is to be happy with him and for him to be happy with me. I'm selling my old iPod on eBay, and I'm not sure how much I should ask for it. It's a 5th generation black video iPod, with a few "love marks" (minor wear-and-tear) on the front, and the back is a little marked with some dots. It looks like it was scratched by grains of sand, but could probably be cleaned off by someone that had the patience. The part that makes it difficult to price is the fact that it's engraved. "Sapphira Ravencroft" is engraved on the back of the iPod (it was my stage name when I was younger). Because of the engraving, I'm not sure how much it's worth. I've done research on eBay, to see what other people are asking, but I'm unable to find one that is engraved. I'm going to college next fall so saving for a macbook but do need laptop recently, do you think that apple will give out free ipod and printer in rebate by the back to school time this year , does it include ipod tough? I bought an iPod off eBay. It is a 30 GB Video, 5th Generation. It is a little dinged up. I connected it to iTunes and it recognized it, I decided to do a "restore" that way I wipe out all the old users settings / music. It said don't disconnect it, your iPod will appear in iTunes in a few seconds. I waited about 5 minutes, nothing happened. So I disconnected it and tried to turn it off, nothing happened. I reset it, and all it did was go back to the apple icon. And it is making weird clicking noises. Any suggestions / ideas? Thank you.Yes, I know. Resolved Question: I think my "friend" has stolen from me, what should I do?

OK, I suspect my "friend" Steve of stealing my ipod. It was left on my table by the computer for about 2 weeks without me ever using it or moving it around but I only noticed it missing yesterday. I don't want to confront Steve about it because my only proof is that he was the only person in the house over the last couple of weeks who could have taken it and he has stolen from me before and admitted it (albeit a very long time ago) but I forgave him. I didn't see him take it - but I have a very strong suspicion it was him. I'd try searching his room but I never really go round his house, he always comes over to mine and even if I did go I wouldn't be able to come up with a good reason to check his room. What do you think of the following options: 1) Place a status update on facebook saying my ipod is fitted with tracking and I will know who took it very soon and I will announce who it is on facebook unless they give it back. 2) Same as above but say I have video evidence. As it was taken in front of my computer the web cam could have, hypothetically speaking, been switched on. 3) Try and bait him into stealing something else from my house and catch him in the act, ie by leaving expensive items around the house and give him ample opportunity to steal and then check they are still there before he leaves. Any other ideas? It's a tough choice on how to handle this. I could tell his brother (who I have no reason to distrust) but I don't want to upset him particularly while there is a small chance I could be wrong and it has just been misplaced (very unlikely because I know I never moved it from where I last saw it). more

i havent smoked marijuana in about a year and i recently smoked about three quarters of a gram of marijuana at once. it looked like good quality weed, it had a lot of orange in it and a good amount of crystals. it tasted good too, kind of like citrus. as i was smokng my second joint, i began to feel really high, so i decided to stop after i finished it. i had taken about 50 hits by this time. my friends were all looking over the wall of my friend's back yard and i thought that there were cops, so i started to get scared. i also started getting scared because the high i was feeling was so intense and it wasn't what i was expecting at all (i have smoked marijuana before but never this much at one time). all of a sudden my fear started growing and i said to myself this is way too intense to be marijuana and then i started thinking that it had to be laced with acid or something which scared me because i had smoked so much of it. and then i started having thoughts that i was never going to stop tripping, or that i was going to develop schizophrenia, or die and go to hell. it was the worst fear i had ever had. i asked my brother how long it had been and he told me it had only been a half an hour since i smoked, but it felt like it had been hours, so this scared me because it felt like i was going to have to endure this hell forever. it felt like my heart was beating really fast so i told my brother to feel it and he told me it was fine, but later when i was sober he told me it was the fastest heartbeat he had ever felt. the visuals were pretty intense too. i could barely see because my vision was covered in blue static lines. when i could see, it looked like multi-colored crayon scribbles were everywhere, when i closed my eyes, there was kaleidoscopic patterns, i looked at the trees and they looked like they were made of iron, and when i looked at them again, they were all black with patches of color in them. my friend was green, and he tried to show me a video on his phone but the video scared me because it was going from color to black and white to sepia to negative. when i looked at the stars, they were moving all around. i was listening to my ipod and when i first put the music on, it made purple swirling lights everywhere in my vision. my ipod shot out a mist of colorful sparkles from the screen. it felt like my body was being twisted all around and it tasted like i had pepper in my mouth. it felt like i was leaving my body when i would try to relax and calm myself and when i would realize that it felt like i was floating away, i would sort of wake up and i would get a really big jolt kind of like electricity. my friends asked me why i kept farting and i had no idea what they were talking about and then all of the sudden it felt like i pooped my pants, but i didnt. i was also hearing voices. they sounded like people doing normal every day things in their houses, i couldnt make out what they were saying but i could hear people eating and things like that even though it was the middle of night and nobody was even awake. it also sounded like i could hear every dog in the city barking at once. food was disgusting and i couldnt eat. my brother was walking but his sound was reaching me after he passed. i went and sat in my friends front yard trying to keep myself from floating away (i think i was falling asleep maybe) but i was scared to fall asleep because i thought that if i did, i would never wake up. and i was just thinking wierd thoughts and picturing wierd images. we went into my friends house and i started feeling better and i layed on his bed and fell asleep. when i woke up, it felt like i was on a normal weed high. we then went and got some food and i fell asleep again, and when i woke up the next morning, i was completely fine and back to normal. this whole thing lasted around 6-7 hours. theres probably more i could type, but i think this is enough basically could anybody tell me what the heck that was it was unlike anything ive ever experienced and i have smoked weed, salvia, done ecstacy, etc. but i have never tried shrooms or LSD or PCP so i dont really have anything to compare this to.. basically i am trying to figure out if this was laced weed or if i just smoked way too much of some really strong stuff. thanks for reading that long story and i really appreciate any answers. more

Hi I'm attempting to connect two audio sources to one output source (Source 1: HU, Source 2: iPod run through a seperate powered crossover) because I want to be able to play videos on the HU and tv screens while playing different music from the iPod (like for a car show) both run through the SAME pair of amplifiers, one for the highs and one for the subs. I know using simple 2 in - 1 out adapters is not the way to go as it can damage the audio sources, so I was looking into getting an RCA switchbox to distribute the signal. Resolved Question: Mail order iPod service?

I would like to repair my husbands 30 G iPod Video for him for Christmas this year, and don't know where to go. It needs the battery, LCD, and front and back replaced (they're badly scratched). I've seen sites where they do SOME of these repairs, but not all of them. I don't want to have to send the iPod to two different places to get the job done. Voting Question: How can I get a iPod Touch replacement?

Basically i need a reason could i give to get a brand new ipod touch replacement. My ipod touch 2nd gen is within warranty until october this year, and its quite scratched at the back and a couple deepish scratches on the front screen though, so would love a nice free replacement lol, i'd be getting the replacement done at the apple retail store in town. The ipod itself of it is alright, despite the many bugs from apples latest OS 3.0 (since i got 3.0 my wifi is completely not working and fails to connect, otherwise i guess does work fine). I need a nice reason (maybe call it an excuse if you want) that will get the apple people to give me a replacement. Even if you could tell me recent reasons they gave you a replacement and how sucessfull and easy it was would help (of course genuine occurances would be need in this case). If anyone does have any good ideas which would get me get a replacement from apple, sharing it would be greatly appreciated. (They dont need to be genuine happenings, anything that would be beleivable by the apple people to get me a nice new ipod 2g replacement). Currently I'm thinking about taking an agressive approach concerning the wifi problem (i would say it had very terrible connection compared ot me ipod touch 1g, even before 3.0, and the new upgrade just killed it. And adding another lie and saying the video playback gave random sections of blank audio, and it lasts 3-4mins every time it happens "randomly". We're both 16, and she's not much of a best friend. Today she really pissed me off. It was my 16th birthday party and she WAS supposed to come, but then at last minute she tells me she can't cuz her dad won't let her. Then when we talk on the phone again later, she says she has to go cuz she has a date with her bf! So she lied! He was invited too, so she still would've been able to see him. So I sent her a message on facebook saying, "Were u lying when you told me why you can't come to my bday party? Cuz you said your dad wouldn't let you, but then you said you had a date with patrick. I just wish you told me sooner". She hasn't responded yet. She is so full of herself! She thinks everyone loves her, when it's the opposite cuz everyone is sick of her! A month ago, I got dumped by a guy I dated almost 9 months. She told me right away, "Oh, don't worry I know tons of single guys". She hasn't introduced me to one. It's not that she didn't find me a guy, cuz I can do that myself, but it's that she did the opposite and wouldn't shut up about how successful her relationship is! She is constantly shoving videos and pics of him in my face! In one video they were kissing and she said, "Look at the passion!". She's been dating the guy 4 months and already they wanna get married and know when and where, and how many kids they're gonna have! There's no way that's gonna last cuz they're too young to be talking about that and she's always saying how hot other guys are! Whenever I go to her house, I regret it. She's either on the phone or computer, and whenever I say I'm hungry, she just says, "Really?", and sometimes eats in front of me! She also doesnt give things back that she borrows. I've gotten them back now, but I had to ask for them a few months after she borrowed them. Once she even asked to borrow my ipod overnight (I didn't let her, but still)! Another thing that makes me mad is when she says she'll call and let me know about something (the party, for example), and NEVER does. Once when we had study hall and lunch and could go home cuz it was final exams, we were in the kitchen (at my house), and she said, "I'm gonna raid your fridge"! Resolved Question: My brother is 20, never goes out, and I've never seen him without a friend. Is this normal?

I know most people would consider me butting into something that's none of my business. However, rest assured I am only curious, and I don't go around telling my brother to get a life, dictate his lifestyle, etc. I am, as I mentioned, merely curious. My brother is 20 year olds, and just finished his first year at college. However, he's quite... unusual from most 20 year olds I've met. He sits around at home all day watching TV and playing video games. I've never seen him go out with friends, or... anything. Summer for him started over a month ago, and he's never once gone out of the house or... anything. When he was in High School, my mum once questioned why he never went out like other High Schoolers. Instead, he spent lunch time in the library (I know, I saw him there everytime I went there). He answered my mum by saying that he'd "rather not spend his time in basements drinking alcohol". I personally find this a bit insulting, cause I'm a High Schooler, and I certainly don't go out with friends drinking - in fact, I've never drunk in my life. The only people whom I know that DO drink are those preppy people at school and stuff (the self-proclaimed "popular crowd"). So idk, I find it kinda insulting that he said that. And my mom went and agreed with him, saying it was good he wasn't following that influence, overall saying having friends in high school and chilling is bad. =/ Um... no? But... it's weird. My friends always question me as to why my brother is always sitting in front of the TV everytime they come over, and I have to lie and say he comes back from work, etc etc. I just don't want them to think my family is made of losers (and also, not to think my brother is a loser or anything). He's 20, and never once had a job. My mum states this by saying he "doesn't have time for a job as he's too busy with his studies", which is utter BS, because 1) right now it's summer, loads of free time and 2) even during school time, he always came home and just sat in front of the TV. He never studied or did something of the sort. I dunno if the blame relies partly on my parents, because they never give him a reason to get a job. They pay 100% for his college tuition, pay for his phone, gave him an iPod, and other stuff. They're even offering an iPhone to him (despite the fact we all know he never uses it, seeing as his blackberry he got in January is just laying around the house). All the video games he wants they get him one way or another. Are they partly to blame? I don't know, but my parents consider his behaviour "normal" and think he's actually mature for his age (mum thinks he acts like a 25 year old), despite the fact he loves to physically hurt me, his 16 year old younger sister, and all of the stuff I've noted above. I don't know, but is this... normal? Maybe he has some psychological problem or something, or he's just overall anti-social. But please, I'm not trying to "butt into my brother's business" or anything (I never bother with him), this is just a matter of me being curious overall, so I'm really just wondering whether this is normal behaviour in some 20 year olds (or... whatever). So please don't attack me personally. I mean, the last time I saw him without a friend was back in 2003 when he was in Grade 8, and that was a single lone friend. Whenever I mention the topic of him not having friends (I've brought it up a few times, not malicious intents, I promise you), he gets mad and it earns me a nice kick or punch in the face. : ) So I guess that proves that it does bother him? idk, what do you guys think? Normal or what?Another thing I forgot to mention... he's 20, and has no interest whatsoever in driving. He takes the bus to class or whatever else, and refuses to learn how to drive, even if we all in the family know my parents will give him a car faster than you can a heartbeat if he asks for one. more

I currently have a 5G iPod video, 60GB, and a remote/FM radio accessory, I use it to listen to music (largely with the shuffle feature), audio podcasts, and music videos. It is on its last legs, which I'd like to plan on replacing it, so am looking at possible replacements. Due to Apple's accessory licensing chip in recent models, they are out of the question entirerly. What I need is at least 8GB flash or 30GB HDD. I will accept less flash if it can be upgraded with an SDHC card. I need Shuffle that shuffles just music tracks, less podcasts.I could get an el-cheapo player for podcasts, but I want something decent for music. It must use standard headphones. FM tuner is a must. Timed recording from FM is a plus, but not necessary. I would very much like a wired or wireless remote capability where I can make my own or use an affordable accessory remote. The remote needs to at least play/pause, skip forward/back a track, and volume up/down. Or a player with largish buttons on the front I can run through a case without looking at it. A USB mini connector is preferred to a proprietary connector. Video and photo playback are a plus, but not necessary on a Flash unit Except for the apparent lack of remote, I really like the Creative Zen.As I said, Apple is totally out of the question because of their accessory license chip. If they hadn't require accessory manufacturers buy an Apply license chip, I would consider Apple. Other than the "No Apple" thing, I am quite flexible, so long as I can play my relatively static music collection (which I could whittle down to fit 8GB), with shuffle, and easy access to play/pause, skip track, and volume. more

Resolved Question: How can I beat a wrongly accused speeding ticket?

I was coming home the other day from my girlfriend’s family function in Wis. on Easter Sunday. We were on a two lane highway (one lane in each direction). There were 3 cars a head of me. 1ST a small car, then a large black SUV (Girlfriends parents), and then another car (green), then me. I had my car on cruse control at 55 mph and following the green car in front of me. We were in the middle of a curve in the road when my radar beeped for not even a sec. (I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR IT IS NOT OK TO SPEED) (Yes I have speeded in the past when I was younger but that is not why I have the radar detector today. It is just one of those things that you just buy just because. Like a blackberry or an ipod or an iphone you just get it because everyone else has one). I looked and saw the squad in the other lane from the corner of my eye driving in the opposite direction. Then I looked in the rearview. He started to break and pulled to the shoulder. He then left the sight of my rearview because of the curve in the road. About a min later I look in my rearview and see him behind me with his lights on. At first I thought he wanted to pass so I put on my flashers and pulled to the side of the road when he followed. I was so confused at this point and then I looked at christen and saw she was holding our puppy in her hands with a baby blue blanky covering and holding him like a baby. She asked why is he pulling you over and I looked at her and told her I think he is pulling us over because he thinks that Boe is a baby. (honest to god that is why I thought he was pulling us over) I have seen the movies so I know the procedure (lic and registration or lic and insurance in Illinois) so I pulled out my wallet got my lic and insurance and then rolled down the window. And asked the officer before he got fully up to the window (is there a problem office). He then came up to the window and hesitated for a sec. looking into the car. He then said yes you were speeding doing 69mph in a 55 that’s 14 over. I paused with confusion and kind of stared blankly for a sec. and then stumbled with my words and asked the office (I was speeding) he said yes. Then he took my lic and went back to the car. I was so stumbled at what he just said I lost track of every thing. Christin looked at me and said you weren’t speeding and I replied I know. He then came back with the citation for speeding and I told him I don’t think I was speeding sir and then said I thought you were stopping me because you might have thought the dog was a baby. (The way the dog was being held in the baby blanky) He said nothing about that and started to explain to me my options. (I did ask to see the radar and he said he never locked it in. I know from my CPA class Citizens Police Academy that the officer doesn’t need to lock or show any one the radar and the officer does not need to even use a radar gun. With proper training he can visually calculate your speed) I then asked to speak to his shift commander at which time he nicely gave me directions to the department and then even followed me. I spoke with his Sgt. about what had taken place and mentioned to him about the cruise control. (I should have mentioned it to the office when he stopped me but like I said I was struck with confusion) The Sgt. basically said that I was wasting his time asking to speak to him. I then told him not necessarily I said there is a chance that something is either wrong with the radar or my cruise control. I then asked if I could get a copy of information on the maintenance records on the radar gun and a copy of the video on the dash board. He said I could file a FOI Order or a Freedom of Information Order for that information. So he direceted the lady at the front office to give me the form. I filled it out and received a letter yesterday to pick everything up. Before the Sgt. went back downstairs he said yep just a waste of my time. I then told him that he would be happy to know that the officer did well in the stop and he held his composure well. He then replied that’s good I am doing evaluations latter this week. Look I need help I swear I was not speeding and my cruise control seems to be fine. I just bought a new townhouse in this same county where I got stopped and this is a bad way to start my new residence in this county. There has got to be another reason why his radar said that I was going over the speed limit or there has to me a mistaken identity from the cars ahead of me and the green car. I saw this video where a guy smudged a banana all over the front of the back of the ipod and took the peel to rub the smudge into the scratches. Finally he used window cleaner on a towel to get all of the banana off. I tried this and it indeed removed all of the scratches. It was working after I tried this scratch-removing tip for a day or two, and now a couple of days later it doesn't turn on and the buttons are stuck. I have an 80 gb silver classic video ipod. I've had it for about two years. not many scratches on the front. it is scratched up on the back. no big scratches just light ones. it works perfectly fine. just like new. but since i wasn't expecting to sell it i didn't take much care of it when it was in my purse. i think something was laying on the screen so now there is a white line that goes straight across the screen. Its very thin and you can still see stuff. there are two other lines that are very small and only in the top corner and they dont stand out as much because they are sort of gray. Voting Question: Why is SUPER not working correctly anymore?

I downloaded the program SUPER a few months ago and have been using it to convert files ever since. Recently, I have been using it to convert videos for my 8 Gigabyte iPod Nano (3rd Generation). All of a sudden, the videos that it converted for me have been acting strange on iTunes and my iPod. (They run correctly for a while, then stop, and then it automatically returns back to the video menu. When I fast-forward through them, though, it was completely converted by SUPER. On iTunes, the video plays strangely as well.) I think that maybe SUPER has stopped converting them properly, and I am unsure why. A little window just popped up in front of SUPER saying that my computer met all the minimum requirements except for one: it said that it needed Windows R and that I have Windows XP. It could be performance-wise or features-wise. Nothing too outrageous. Here are my suggestions of improving the humble iPod (in particular the Classic model): 1. Better sound quality Surely the boffins at Apple can pull off the ultimate iPod improvement. We all know they don't produce the best sound quality in the world. And a device as big and popular as the iPod, we should expect better. Surely it can't be too hard for them. 2. Create your own subfolders in the Videos section. I have DVD movies and music DVDs which I would love to be able to sort into two different catergories so I don't have them mixed together under simply "Movies". Others may have different reasons for wanting this to happen. I think it would be a great change. 3. The ability to delete music and videos from the iPod without having to connect it to the computer and do it in iTunes. I just reckon that would come in very handy. 4. Fix the lag problems. That's just getting plain annoying and must be fixed. 5. Change the mirrored back of the iPod. Would prevent fingerprints and wear-and-tear scratches. For example, with the current Classic model, the smooth coating on the front face should encase the whole iPod. Would look better and would be less prone to visible damage regardless of the severity. Ok. I have two USB ports on the front of my computer, and I use them for the things that can't fit in the back ones (such as microphones and iPods) but somehow, someway, one of my USB ports just mysteriously stopped working, and I looked in it, and the 4 metal stick things that are supposed to be straight were all crooked and retarded. That was probably someone in my house who was trying to shove something in there when it was OBVIOUSLY the wrong way, but I couldn't fix them so I gave up and just used the second one. Now, here I am, trying to put in my iPod to download new songs. But wait? What's this? "Power Surge on Hub Port"? So, thinking it's the USB cord, I try another one. No go. Becoming frustrated, I try my Logitech Rock Band microphone, which worked before. I've used it on more than one occasion. But now, all of a sudden, it doesn't work. I look inside the port, and everything's fine. The metal things are straight as they should be. From the outside, everything looks ok. No suspicious noises or scary electrical sparks. So what the hell is going on?!! I have no more appliances hooked up to my computer then I had 4 months ago. One day it just stopped working!! I have yet to figure out who broke one of the front USB ports on my computer because no one will fess up to it, but without knowing, i plugged my 30GB 5th Gen iPod video into it. This immediately caused my computer to shut down (most likely do to a short), and also my iPod. Now when I turn my iPod on, it gives me a message saying "please wait very low battery". Do you think that the short may have just damaged the battery? Because I can easily buy a new replacement one for $20 from Newegg, or do you think the entire iPod is toast? When I managed to get it to come on while plugged into the wall charger, it still played music, videos, and showed photos. I then reformatted with itunes to see if it would fix it and now it won't even stay on long enough to sync everything back to it. Now while being plugged into a wall charger, it is in an endless loop of saying that message, then trying to start up and immediately dying. It does this about ever 10 seconds. Hello, This must be addicting because like I said in my last question I'd ask no more, well I said I would try. :) But yet, here's another... Anyway, for what I have been noticing for quite a while, maybe a few months would haveould have been there longer, this is just the time period for when I took notice. I first noticed it when I lay in bed, sometimes on my back when I'm watching videos on my iPod, I'll lay my left leg over my right leg and it hurts, my right leg (Bone?) There's no bruises there and I don't recall of hitting my leg on anything or there being a bruise there for a long period of time. When I roughly race my finger over the front bone in my leg, of course it feels lumpy, it's a bone but when I push on it, it hurts as if it were a bruise. It feels much rather like it's the bone, not the skin. So I was curious with the other leg, (Left one) and pushed on it too, both bones in my legs are both hurting. It is only 2 years old, works great, in perfect condition with only minor scratches on the back, no damage on the front, had screen protector on ever since I bought it. I have a few questions about my 30 GB fifth generation iPod video. First of all I'm planning on selling it but I lost the CD it first came with so I'm wondering what will happen when someone else plugs my ipod into their computer (if it'll work or not). Also I want to know its value. Honestly I give its condition a 3 out of 10, it got a lot of scratches on the back and front and screen as well and a part of the screen is always the same color it's broken or something, but it works 100% like when I got it. Perfect for viewing videos, photos, etc. Please help cuz i got a touch and i wanna get rid of this thing. I payed $300 4 it when it first came out. I also heve a $30 incase leather case with it.
