I used to have an iPod Mini (yes those fat ones before the Nano existed). After 5 years, it has finally, truly died and won't turn back on again. I really don't want to buy another iPod, but I really like how once you hook up the iPod to your computer, iTunes will sychronize the library and add all your playlists to the iPod. It's the only reason why I'm considering buying another one. Anyways, I just want to listen to music. I use it mainly when I'm on my bike riding to school/work. I keep it in my pocket mostly and will get scratches etc. I don't care about flashy color screens, or the ability to play videos or the 160GB capacity. I am fine with 2GB worth of space. I don't care if it's an older version of an iPod either; as long as they play music it's fine by me. I'm gonna buy it used anyway; to save some money. So what iPod would be good for me? more

I want to get an ipod touch, but I'm trying to decide weather or not the $100 more is worth it or not. Voting Question: 80Gig Classic iPod or upgrade to 64gig iPod touch?

My iPod is my favorite device. I had one of the earliest generations for 30GB but later bought my own 80GB with video and all that good stuff. I was so grateful for that upgrade! Now a few years later I'm on the thresh-hold of perhaps getting the iPod touch and need some help deciding. Main concern: Less Space I currently have 30+GB of music, but could easily add just as much in video even though right now I am only using about 40Gigs total and it would fit on the 64. What's the chances of them coming out with an 80gig or higher soon and is it worth the wait? Battery life : I heard the battery life is less, but I suppose I could get a car charger to help... Less important: Ease of commands while not looking at the device. I am used to skipping songs or doing basic controls while the iPod is in my pocket or next to me in the car when I am driving and I do not have to look at it by feel of the buttons. How convenient is the touch navigation? I am interested in the voice activation but may be using my own ear phones which would make that pointless. If you do shake to shuffle can it do the next song or at least a song within the same playlist or artist? I would hate to be surprised too much as I have an extremely wide variety of music... and what about if it shakes accidentally? FEATURES I'M INTERESTED IN FOR IPOD TOUCH: WiFi/internet when available. Bigger screen for videos. Applications such as for games, dictionary, etc. E-books - currently do this, but only using a program that breaks it up into a 200+ text notes Genius mixes - I really like this feature in iTunes. Searching - it's a big headache to scroll through the alphabet and even worse to scroll through my entire collection of music. I am pretty sure I will convert to the touch eventually no matter what, but wonder if it would be worth waiting just a bit longer? I wouldn't even consider the 32GB or less models when they were the only ones available. more

alright well, im using itunes to sync my whole library with my 32GB ipod touch 3rd gen and i noticed that i could only use certain video formats... .mp4 file formats worked, but then suddenly i tryed to add an mp4 video file and it wouldnt work on the itouch (it wouldnt even show up on the touch but it did on the itunes library) so i did a lil reasearch and found there are different codings or something for the mp4s that only certain ones would work. so heres my question: is there a particular file format that will work on the itouch no matter what? or how could i convert the mp4 files to the right type of mp4? and does the option to "create ipod or iphone format" option work? i tryed it once and it ruined the video, and im trying it again now, but its really slow and i think its actualy doing something but is this the right way to go about this? thank you all in advance!! xxox more

so i'm very shy. I get out though, I weight train 4 days a week at a popular gym. i'm starting to talk to people but it usually just ends up looking for a new song on my ipod inbetween sets so I get discouraged and i'll keep to myself even more. i'll do certain exercises depending on where people are at. farther away from others the better. I can never think of what to talk about or what topic to start up. I don't have many hobbies that other people have. Usually I do martial arts, weight training, computer games, art. that's really about it. I also have a hard time figuring out how i'm going to say something (for those wondering, yes, I have asperger's and add) I don't go to school but I have a job, i'm able to socialize there depending on what the topic is. Most things I just can't relate to so I just walk away. I try not to talk about anything that's about a gym or working out. I'm afraid people will see me as a narcissistic guy with a huge ego. I'm one of the more physical fit guys at work, fact I think i'm the only one, I only weight about 180 with roughly 12% body fat. So I don't want people to think i'm flaunting my ego. I weight train because I want to become a cop and because of my martial arts. I don't follow up on news or gossip and I don't watch much TV. Usually my day consists of, Waking up - Eating 7 meals throughout the day Play a video game for an hour or two Watch some youtube videos Watch a little TV Eat some more Go to the gym And then i'll end the night going to bed. A lot of people say "be yourself" well I don't know who I am so I don't know how to act. And I could act natural, but naturally I act shy. Any tips or suggestions? Would reading or getting an education be a start? I never went to college and I dropped out of highschool and got my GED instead. more

I just bought a new ipod nano, and I cant seem to figure out how to put videos on it. Does anyone know? I bought the 16 gb one specifically so I could put movies on it. Okay, my little brothers and I were messing around and decided to make an 'iCarly' style video. I used my G5 iPod to film it, intending to use Windows Movie Maker to edit the clips and add any special effects. I've used Movie Maker before, but not for this purpose, and I've taken video's on my iPod before, but never uploaded them to my laptop. I checked all the video's (they automatically opened in Quicktime) and played fine. I then started on all the titles in Movie Maker, added background music...etc. The tried to add the first clip, only to find that Movie Maker can't read MPEG-4 files. Unfortunately, I'm no computer geek, and have no idea how to get around this problem. And IT Tech at school once showed me how to convert files, but I've completely forgotten. I have done a little research on-line but it is so hard to sift through all of the junk. Just trying to choose the best one for me at the best price. Also trying to figure out if ipod is the best choice or if going with another brand will be okay. I really have no clue here... Can you tell? I am interested in the mp3 holding a lot of music for my vehicle, etc. I am an avid scrapbooker but having the mp3 as a camera is not necessarily a must as I am also in the market for a great camera. I would not use it for movies to be honest. I don't know if I would use it as a video camera, but if I did could I get them off the mp3 and onto a disk for us and other family members. Oh I am a huge music fan and probably have 2000 songs I listen to regularly not including the ones I want to add to that collection. Also, how expensive is it to download music? A little while ago, I used a website that allowed you to convert youtube videos into mp3s (like music videos and ones people put up with lyrics). It worked fine and I was able to transfer them all onto iTunes and then onto my iPod and listen to them on it. However, after the last time I synced my iPod with my computer to charge it, I could not listen to any of those mp3s I had converted on it. They still show up on the device, but they won't play. I tried taking them out of iTunes and then re-adding them, but now iTunes won't recognize them at all. Does anyone know what might have changed or how I might be able to fix this problem and listen to those mp3s on my iPod again? Thank you! more

Okay. On my iPod touch I tried to install cydia. When I installed it I had no sources or packages. When I try to add sources it says something about an error (2). Okay so I know how to put movies and tv shows on my ipod using itunes. I put a few epsidoes of Supernatual on my IPOD using my dads laptop. When I went to add a few episodes of One Tree Hill on my moms laptop it says all other videos will be deleted. I don't want to have to buy the same epsiodes a second time. What do I need to do?
