Okayy well hello:] I've had two Zune players. The first one I had was the 30 gb & that broke...so I brought it to Best Buy & they let me choose from any Ipod or another Zune. So i picked a 120GB Zune. It was working fine for me..until yesterday, :0. It froze when I was watching a video and now it deleted my files. This is the 2nd Zune player I've had that broke. So if I'm able to replace it with an Ipod or Zune again, which should I choose? more

I just found out Apple has released the iPod nano 5th generation w/ built in video recording capabilities. The 16gb nano is priced at $179.99, which is what I would look into to buy. Zen X-fi: Now the 16 gb Zen X-fi has FM radio w/ the ability to save 32 of your fav channels, sync contacts, tasks, and calendar info from Outlook to the device, it has instant msging, wireless podcast support, voice recording, x-fi audio (look it up if you don't know what it is) internal speakers, and, imo the best, the ability to expand your memory w/ an SD card. I've had a lot of mp3 players over the years. My first was an iPod mini, the only one that I willingly got rid of even though it did not have any problems. I then bought a 30 gb iPod Video which worked great for several months until one of the headphones went out. It wasn't the headphones however, it was a problem with the iPod. Then I bought an iPod Nano (3rd generation). The screen broke after a month. The last mp3 player i bought was a Sansa Fuze, which was my favorite of them all because it was cheap and easy to use. However, the screen also broke on the Fuze. I have no idea why, it must've just gotten squished in my pocket. So, my question is, is there a reliable mp3 player out there that will not break easily and isn't to expensive? My price range is no higher then $150. Thanks. more

Okay.... So my ipod video is about to croak on me, and I really want to get a Zune player, but I'm not sure if it's all that it's cracked up to be. My ipod video has really sucky battery life, and it's also splitting apart at the sides. I couldn't get through a movie because the fully-charged battery would die within the hour. Anyway, if I get a Zune, I'm probably going to get the Zune Pass, but I don't really know anything about it...What are the Pros and Cons of the Zune and Zune Pass? On the Pc's drives themselves, regular maintenance is performed, such as disk clean up, defrag, etc...., but I also use about 4 external drives at various times and move files like crazy, so my question is, on my externals, which include: 1.)FD 500 GB USB external 2.)Various Flash USB sticks 3.)Polaroid Juke Jam 30 G mp3 player (piece of crap as mp3 player capabilites are dead, but still stores files in disk mode just fine) 4.)iPod 5G video 30 G, which is enabled as disk mode, and have used to store files when in a pinch Should I be performing the same maintenance on these drives? Most of my music comes from cd's so itunes isnt concern for me. Less than a year and a half ago I purchased the original iPod video 30 GB for $350. I never dropped it or got it wet, and last night, for no reason at all, the screen quit working. It will still play music but I cannot see anything but a blank screen. I was told the warranty was up so I would have to pay $130 to get it fixed (plus shipping and handling to have it sent to an Apple factory.) This incident has me looking for an alternative to anything Apple made. I want a good, long-lasting MP3 player capable of holding around 30GB of music and preferably video as well. However, memory is not the main issue. I just want an MP3 player than is reliable and worth the money. I've looked into Zunes as well as the Zen Vision. I had a video ipod that was stolen (was a gift)... - aesthetically I like the previous version although the classic is thinner, the video one is NEW factory sealed and have a $200 offer on it but it is $70 cheaper than the classic, but the classic has more than double the memory (30 vs. 80 GB), I tried out the classic at he Mac store and I didn't like the split screen (is there a way to take this setting off?), some people have mentioned the split screen makes response time slower, (?), I really really want to get a Beatles special edition ipod IF it ever comes out. I have a 30 GB Video IPod...just tonight, after putting in some new songs, there was a clicking and the Ipod kept turning on and off. I tried to fix it with the business card trick, but when I was prying the Ipod open, I slipped with the screwdriver and jacked up the screen. Now the screen white...with the lines and the big lookin' splotch on it. I'm devastated! The IPod is fairly new...I've had it for almost a year now, so if I don't have to replace it, I don't. I want to send my IPod to the technicians to get the screen fixed, but I'm wondering, do I also need a battery replacement? The Ipod turns off after a second, so I can't even get any songs to play. I'm curious as to what else might have been broken, what I should purchase to replace...or, if I should just get a new mp3 player (after dealing with 3 broken Ipods, never a mac product again!). My parents say they're about to quit on Apple and probably won't let me buy Ipods anymore. It's been a while since I've gotten my last replacement Ipod. I think that it's time to start thinking about a replacement for my portable player stuff in case it just dies. First, I now have an Ipod video. In case it breaks and I can't get another one, any recommendations on what I should get next? I would like it to be able to play full-length movies AND music (like mp3, etc.). Have a good bit of memory (close to 30 GB like the Ipod). Be a carriable size (Ipod sized or close to). And preferrably blue or have a purchasable blue skin. Also be reasonably price. Next, I'm thinking about getting better earphones. I have Sony ear-clip ones that die within like 2 months or something. Ear clips are preferrable but earbuds will work too. If earbuds, preferrably blue and able to reduce background noise. Also, preferrably less than $30 unless they're really good. Note: Please keep buying within US..Edit- I've looked at Creative Zen Vision:M and it looks good and all, but some people say its warranty absolutely sucks. Can someone clear this up? Currently I own a Creative Labs Zen Sleek from mid-2005. I've already sent two in and gotten two new ones back within the first year of having it... both times it displayed an error message that the system had been corrupted and there was a hardware error. It has 20 GB and already I'm out of space, so I'm looking for about a 30+ GB hard drive. Even though it annoyed me that it kept "fatally crashing" I did like how easy it was to use the Zen Sleek with the provided software. I don't want an iPod, mainly because I don't like the idea of only being able to put iTunes on it. I have lots of MP3s and WMAs and don't care to convert. Preferably it may also be a video player. One that might actually last a year. But if it's really good and not a video player, I'm amenable to that (I know their battery lives are almost non-existant even though I wouldn't be playing any vids if it wasn't connected to a power source).
