Ok, i unlocked my brand new iPod touch (i got it yesterday) and i tried pressing on one of my apps and it went to the screen and then flashed back to the home screen. The only buttons that will work are Mail, Stocks, Weather, Photos, Notes, Youtube, Contacts, Maps, Calender, Voice Memos, Calculator, Clock, Settings, iTunes, Music, Videos, Safari and App Store which isn't loading. Ok, I have an 8gb iPod Touch, 2nd generation. I have around 3 pages of apps (but some big ones like Rock Band and GTA:CTW), no pictures, no videos and about 600 songs. It is also jailbroken, but I've removed almost everything having to do with jailbreak. I'm wondering... A. Why is my iPod out of space? I can't add any songs or download any apps (even app updates). Voting Question: Updating ipod software.. will I lose everything?

I am updating my 1st generation itouch to version 3.1.3 (in the check for updates area) I went to purchase in and when it was done downloading something popped up saying "updating to iphone 3.1.3 software will delete all music, videos, and photos on this ipod including iTunes store purchases. To preserve this media apply this update on the computer where you sync music, videos, and photos" Now it seems silly that everything would delete. I know people who update all the time and i doubt they have to re-add all their music? however I Dont have my library saved anywhere because that computer crashed so i really must know before doing it. If i install this update will everything actually be lost? Im looking for a true answer from someone who HAS DONE it because loosing everything would not be worth the update. My music, photos, videos, I already have backed up on my computer and on itunes. The only thing I don't have backed up are my applications/games that I've purchased .... I plug in my iPod and on the iPod screen it says its connecting for about a second then, for less than a second it shows that its syncing then says that its ok to disconnect and goes to the main page (music, videos, photos etc...) Then on Itunes, a small box pops up saying, " An ipod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Voting Question: my hp slimine wont power on anymore. before it said configuring updates stage 3 of 3 now this?

i got the update message of doom ("configuring updates stage 3 of 3 0%") and my fiance didnt like it being in the never ending reboot loop so she tried a few things then unplugged it from the wall she eventually decided to try again and plugged back in and discovered the power would not turn on, i was busy so about 45 min. later i went in the bedroom and pressed the power button... nothing i then held the button in for a few seconds ad it came on then i tried a few things (restore back to 3 days ago, restore to last good config., auto repair,etc.) nohing, so i looked it up on my ipod (it was the only internet access i had) and discovered it could be easily fixed by bootng from a vista boot disc then installing all available updates and restart at which point it should show the same message only this time it will go through to 100% and start normally. while i was trying to get ahold of a boot disc (or pc access to create one) i manually shutdown my pc (by holding down the power button). when i went to turn it on again it was unplugged from the monitor (i was preparing to take it to a friends house) and it started to beep medium length beeps that were never ending so i plugged it up to the monitor to see if there was a status message and the screen was black. i went on packing it up and took it to the friends house at which point i discovered it would not power up. there is a green light on the back that comes on like usual but no response from the power button. please help!!! i have my sons entire life from birth until now on this pc and my fiance is trying to convince me to send it off. if i do every photo, every video, every cute memory will be gone and all his "firsts" also. feel free to email me directly, after we go home my ipod is the only internet access i will have. more

About 2 weeks ago, i jailbroke my iPod Touch. 3 days ago, there was a new firmware update from apple so i decided to update it. However, after the update, the amount of files on my iPod touch seems a bit weird. After the restore, and i synced the files back. Anyway, here are the questions: 1. Does itunes backup jailbroken apps and roms? 2. Does a restore wipe all files off an iPod touch or does it just wipe the music and videos? 3. Why would the pictures folder on my ipod touch be 145.1mb when i only synced 225 photos that weren't even very high quality? You don't have to answer all the questions, just the one you know. Thanky you and i appreciate it.The thing is, the jpeg files all together on windows is only about 20mb. I have always wanted a mac and at the moment i am in sixth form (I will be getting a MacBook for uni, but at the moment I need a computer). My parents want to replace their computer with a cheap pc after buying a relativly good dell (£700 on sale) I preposed that I no longer used it for much and use my iPod touch mainly for Internet. They have agreed to do a swap where I get a Ipad and my parents get to use my pc. I tried getting a mac when I bought my pc but my parents wouldn't let me buy one as they thought that macs where too expensive for the specs. The price of the Ipad means they will let me get one. I mainly browse the Internet and will need to write the ocassional essay (my only essay subject is economics which I am dropping at the end of the year). I have a decent cameara and a fair amount of movies and music. Will the iPad satisfy my needs? Also does the iPad have flash player? Can I edit videos and photos? I have a jailbroken 2G iTouch running 3.1.2 firmware. I used the Categories app to place my music, video, and photo apps into a folder, and then decided not to and deleted the folder. Now, I can't find my music or video apps. I looked on Poof!, and I was able to get back my photo app, but no music or video. It shows a "iPod" icon, but whenever i turn it on or off, nothing happens. I have tried resetting, restarting springboard, syncing, etc. Nothing works. Any ideas? Help?EDIT: fixed it. Just added the music app into a new folder, then deleted the app from the folder. I have an ipod classic and want to get my pictures to show up on my PN50B860 Samsung TV through the USB connection on the TV. When I plug it in, the TV recognizes all my videos and music but when i click on photos, the TV loads and then says photo file not found. I called samsung and the first department said you can't load pictures on the TV at all. It is totally amazing that some people that do not know the answer will rather tell you it can't be done rather than saying, I don't know. It says specifically in the manual that you can do this but for some reason it is saying photo files not found on my device. I know that the TV only recognizes JPEG files, but I'm pretty sure thats what they were when they went on the ipod. Does anyone know how to do this from an ipod? more

I was using the Internet on my iPod touch then went to listen to music. The screen said that it was updating my library which is weird because it usually only says that after I put music onto it. I just reformatted it yesterday and it became empty. :( And now the only things left in there are Safari, Youtube, Settings, Clock, Calendar, Calculator, Music, Videos, Photos and iTunes. dear all, I have just started using an ipod named Ipod touch (8gb capacity). I also uploaded some photos from my computer, but I wonder that i could not find a option to delete the photos from my ipod. i must have been confused. and also, could you please suggest what sort of videos or audio files apps cud i play in my ipod, as i just tried to upload some video files but cud not as the message appeared on the ITune software of my computer 'this video cud not be played in this ipod' i really need some help, pls kindly help whoever could! so i got the original ipod from my sister and she had all sections on her ipod like music, photos, video ect. any way, i downloaded the itunes software and i put some cds on there, but i cant find out how to sync my videos on there. so i look on my actual ipod and scroll through and find out that there is no section for videos. it says " music, photos, extras, settings, shuffle songs and backlight. i cant access my videos (but i dont have any on my ipod) can anyone help me?how do i enable video on itunes? more
