hi so i have had my 30gb ipod video for about 2 years and it just recently has been acting up... when i try to turn it on it goes to a white page and it has a ipod frowning and says something like ipod support.com or something.. if i keep trying to turn it on it eventually turns on but thats after like 4 or 5 times of me turning it on... its super frustrating what do i do? I've had my Ipod (Classic-Video-30GB) for about 3-4 years now I'd say. It's taken quite a bit of falls before. But today when I turned it on, it gave me a white screen with text that read "www.apple.com/support/ipod" and it showed a picture of an Ipod with X's for eyes and a frown (lol). I visited the site, but could not find a DAMN thing to help my problem. My guess is that my battery finally gave out. Any help would be appreciated.Also, it makes a clicking noise when I turned it on. It lasts for about 5 seconds, then the Ipod shuts down. I've plugged it into my computer, and it says "very low battery," although the battery is charged. more

Resolved Question: Data Rescue II - Doesn't find my deleted files.?

I have the white macbook, and I have the full version of Data Rescue II. I'm using my 30GB iPod Video as my external hard-drive (it's empty) and I did both a thorough scan and a deleted files scan of my hard disk and I can't find ".mov" files that I deleted. The CBR folder seems to show the files that are on my hard disk, but not any of the movies that I've deleted. the movies are big, almost 5 or 6 GB's per .mov. Does anyone know what's wrong ? more

So yesterday Windows finally died, I don't know what happened but it simply won't boot because something caused a major corruption in the Windows folder. Good thing I always have Ubuntu as a second OS, I managed to access all my documents, movies and music from Ubuntu and I copied them to my iPod Video 30GB. Then I did a complete format to my Hard Drive and today I just installed XP again but I did something stupid, when I was at the installation process, I didn't realize I had my iPod plugged in to my computer, and I accidentally deleted my iPod partition from the partition manager. Then I plugged my iPod off and a white screen with some warning in different languages popped up. It said something about recover fron iTunes. Then I installed iTunes and plugged my iPod again hoping for iTunes to fix my iPod and be able to use it again, but then a message comes up saying all the contents and other data stored in the iPod will be deleted. I really can't believe this is happening, I have very important documents stored there along all my songs and movies (the ones I had on my PC). Is there any way to recover the partition information and make it work again? Like in windows you can use the recovery console and fix the MBR and the boot.ini file. Any help will be greatly appretiated, and thanks in advance.I tried using recuva and some more recovery programs, but my iPod is not recognized by any of those, My PC still shows my iPod as F: but I can't do anything else, when I double click on it a message pops up asking me to connect a device. Only Paragon can see it, but it shows the iPod's partition as unallocated. The data is still intact, but there's no way for recovery programs to do anything, and there's no option in Paragon to fix a partition table or whatever I accidentaly deleted on my iPod. If you know of someone else who had the same problem and could recover the data, please feel free to add me on messenger: wizho@live.com I have nearly 3500 songs, 50 very important documents, I don't care much for the movies, only my music collection and documents. more

My ipod is a 30gb white classic video... And it will not play music. It's lasted me three years, but for some reason it just quit working. I didn't spill anything on it, and it's not even frozen. I can play games and stuff but when I go to put on a song, it says it's playing but the little blue at the bottom isn't moving forward and there is no sound... Hey, I got an iPod Classic 120GB suprise Christmas present having had 1 or 2 problems with my 30GB video, one of which being out of capacity. Anyhow, I haven't been keeping up with the latest advances in Apple iPods and it appears that every iPod Classic case is suited to either the for 80GB or 160GB capacity, and I think the latter must've been discontinued. Anyhow, from the select few 120GB-suitable cases on the market, does anyone have any recommendations from knowledge/personal experience for I buy one I might be disappointed with? And has anyone got any headphone recommendations for me also, preferably in-ear headphones. The Sennheiser CX300s I used in compliance with my 30GB Video have worn and the white discoloured. Ok, well I have my lovely ipod 30gb (I believe it's the classic, it plays videos and is in color...) Anyway I was updating the firmware, and it was in the do not disconnect screen when my lovely boxer tears through the room, ripping the cord out of the compy. I have the iPod Video (5th generation, 30gb, white) and i bought it off ebay about 2 years ago used but it was in very good shape. And now it is really scratched up and doesn't work really well, and not all the songs work (some were downloaded off the internet and some were bought on the iTunes Store). if i take it to the Genius Bar in an Apple Store and the people are unable to fix it (my friend had the same problem with their ipod. some of the songs weren't able to work), will they give me a good discount off a New Generation ipod or just say they are unable to fix it?? more

I bought my 30GB video ipod less than a year ago an a couple of nights ago i set my ipod on my dresser before i went to bed, and in the morning i turned it on to use it and there was a black smuge on the screen and most of the screen is just white so i can't see anything. Ok...I have a 30gb first gen video, I believe there is a firmware issue of some sort, it won't charge when connected to the pc, screen doesnt light up...nothing.
