Resolved Question: iPod song troubles - All songs starting wherever they left off last?

You know how you normally get about half way through a song then decide to skip onto the next one? (At least I do that all of the time.) Well, for the last few months whenever that song comes back on a few days later it starts not at the beginning of the song, but wherever it last left off (half way into the song). Does anyone have any idea how to stop my iPod from doing this? Or why it started doing this in the first place? It's starting to get really annoying. Thanks! I was dating Andy for about a year and a half. For christmas 07, my mom got me this brand new 80g Ipod Classic Video. It costed about 200.00 at the time. In fall of 08, Andy asked if he could borrow it because his family had a lot of nice music equipment(guitars, drums, amps, etc) and he wanted to plug it into his speakers and play music while his friends were over. I told him sure, but only for 1 day. The next day I asked him for it back, he begged to borrow it for 1 more day. I hesitated, but told him yes. Then it turned up "lost". His close friend of many years told me a few months later(me & Andy were broken up by this time) that Andy had PAWNED my Ipod!! I couldn't believe it. I should've known. Andy has always been a shoplifter and a theif. But I thought I could trust my own boyfriend. Now I want justice. How can I sue him, or get back the money for the Ipod? more

Hi I have had my 80g black classic for near 3 years. Have loads and loads of music on it. I foolishly just downloaded a new album on a new PC I have never had my ipod connected to, it seemed to work fine. I then went to plug my ipod into the sterio to listen to the new album. Its not there, infact nothing is there. I felt my heart sink. I then noticed that of the 80G I still only have 6.5G space left. So something is there. Please please help me restore my ipod. When I opened and tried to connect my iPod it asked to restore my iPod, I have over 1500 songs, that are not all on this commputer and I didn't want to restore. Voting Question: Itunes Erased all my songs without my permission?

So, I was just plugging in my 80g iPod Classic to iTunes (On my mac) and a window pops up saying "Itunes does not read "Ipod" and click okay to go to the summary page to restore" I click okay, and then it takes me to the summary page and I click restore but When I read that It deletes all your music and videos I quickly clicked Cancel( Yes, I'm sure I clicked Cancel) I didn't want to lose all 1,500 songs that aren't all on my new library. When I ejected the ipod, I saw that there was NO music or videos on it. It still says that I have the files on the ipod because I doubt itunes has about 20g worth of data on the ipod. How do I get my ipod to read the songs and itunes to read my ipod?! Please help :\No, I manually sync my ipod because we have multiple libraries. So I can't get alllll my music back because they're all on different computers, and one of the computers died and we had lost all our music from that library. i have the choice of getting a ipod classic 80G or a itouch 32G. I listen to alot of music and watch videos here and there. I want to play apps and have the wifi options but the ipod touch screens dont seem to like my fingers... I also go to the gym alot so if one is lighter it would be nice. The durability of the ipod is also very important to me. Sometimes i like to play my music out loud with speakers of group entertainment but does the classic have built in speakers? Which one should i get? and why? Money is not a problem for me. more

My Ipod Classic is acting up. Any time I wish to add a video, it'll begin to sync, but will freeze during the transfer. By freeze I mean, the Ipod will go from "Syncing" to "Connected." More over, any time I try to play 1 of 6 songs in the Ipod library, the song will appear, stall for like 15 seconds and continue on to the next song. I have dropped it a couple times. Is there anything I can do, without removing the cover, or anyone I can go to? more

This weekend I am upgrading from my old Blackberry Curve to an IPhone. The thing is I don't know if I should get the 3Gs or the 3G. But I just bought a new video camera, even though it would be nice not to take everywhere risking loosing it, or breaking it. Help! I have a 80g ipod classic, and recently whenever I plug it into the computer itunes says my ipod is corrupt and needs to be restored. The problem is that very little of the videos/music on my ipod are backed up on itunes because they took up too much space on my computer (Mac OS X). I know restoring may be the only option, but I was wondering if there was any way possible I may be able to save my ipod without losing all it's files? I've already tried reseting my ipod by pushing the center+menu, but that hasn't made a difference. Any suggestions? more

May be totally obvious to people very savvy about computers however, to me, this is not easy haha. I have LOTS of movie files on my computer and I want to be able to store them off my computer. I don't really want to buy one of those sticks so I was thinking of using my 80G iPod Video. I figured out how to view your music folder on your iPod( hidden folders or whatever) but I don't want to place the files in the wrong place. So how do I go about this? Is it even possible? Resolved Question: My iPod's screwed up, please help?

So, I'm already planning to take it to an apple store, and I have tried resetting it multiple times. None of those worked. My computer doesn't recognize it, and when I try to reset it, it just makes this noise and keeps showing the apple logo thing. I was wondering if anyone knew what was possibly wrong with it? I have no idea what could have caused it to not work, unless if sitting in an iPod dock for a long time would do that, but it worked the day before so, I really don't know. Oh, and also, it worked earlier today, but wouldn't play any songs, and eventually after resetting it, it kind of worked, but instead of saying, 'Music, Videos, Pod casts, etc' it said, 'Mui, Eos, Poo, etc' I don't know if that helps...Any help would be appreciated, Thanks. Ok, so I downloaded this movie with Graboid and it was perfect and everything. It was in .avi format and when I tried to change to .mp4 format for my 80g ipod it said that it cant sync to itunes. I tried to open the file normally but when I played it the sounds were from different parts of the movie. It was waaay off, maybe like 30 mins or so. I tried it again but this time the video came out upside down! The voice matched the video but everyting turned out upside down! Can someone help me with this problem because its very frustrating! I have used videora for other movies but nothing ever happened then. I noticed that when I was converting this movie, and only this one, that this ffdshow audio converter icon was in my system tray. Does this change anything? All help will be greatly appreciated more

I have tried re- starting 3 times and it still does it. Then it will stop and work. But a while later it will start doing that again later. Any tips? more

Resolved Question: My 80g iPod Video is NOT syncing to my iTunes?

I've been trying to sync my iPod (Video, 80g) to my computer to sync some music onto it. Usually, it would read as being connected, sync the music, and everything would be fine. But ever since last night, the iPod only reads that it's being hooked up to the cable, and just charges. Even when I have iTunes opened, it won't connect and sync. Hey guys, whenever I try to connect my iPod to my computer, it no longer registers and nothing happens at all. the computer doesn't even recognise it as being plugged in. This in turn leads to not being able to sync any music. I currently have a back iPod Classic 80g. I know there is nothing wrong with the ports as everything else works fine (webcam, USB, etc). The iPod is working fine, it plays music and videos perfectly. (i charge it on a seperate device). I have tried connecting my iPod with different cords (my sisters, but i dont know if that wont work cause she has a completely different type of iPod) but yah, it didnt work on that. im not sure if its worth going out and buying another cord made for my iPod (if it matters) or if my iPod isnt working or something. i have tried resetting my iPod (10 times in a row) please help somone. I recently made a dumb move and hooked my 80g Ipod Classic up to my Roland HP207 keyboard and pressed format output device. The keyboard then proceeded to erase everything on my Ipod. I quickly ripped the USB cord out and then turned my Ipod but everyrhing was gone. Then I plugged my Ipod into my computer and when it came up on Itunes it said the that my Ipod had 43 gb of "other" I used to have 43 gb of music/video's/photos/other. How can I get rid of the ghost 43 gb because my ipod says I only have 25 gb's left when I only have about 5 gb's worth of actual stuff on my Ipod. more

Okay, I have an ipod, and I have it since December of 2007. All of the sudden in the last couple months, its has been driving me insane. My sister lost my original charger chord to the Ipod (which is 80G Ipod Video Classic), and so I have been using the USB chord for powering the ipod, meaning, hooking it up to my computer and then letting it charge. One day it wouldn't detect it (my computer). It froze up, so I disconnected it from my computer. I plugged it back into the computer and it wouldn't recognize it, yet again. I did this repeatedly and finally iTunes was able to detect it, and it said it was corrupted, but then the ipod froze again. So I just let it die (the battery) because there was nothing I could do at the time, and I thought I would let it charge up again, but now my computer won't recognize it, the ipod won't even light up or anything. Please someone help! I don't have the money for a new one! :(Also, I've done the button tricks, and they don't work either. more

I have a video iPod (80g) that I got for xmas in 2007. It has been working fine until I wanted to add some more songs that I bought from iTunes on to it. How can I transfer itunes music from a different computer to my ipod without deleting all my stuff, because I have tons of videos, thousands of songs, and pictures so it would just kill me to have to delete everything. My computer died so I use my cousin's and she has videos that I want to transfer to my ipod but it won't let me unless I reset my ipod and I don't want to do that. There's a way around everything, so does anyone know how to do this? Okay, so, about six months ago, i bought one of the 80G ipod videos from best buy. i didnt pay for the warranty (i should have). Well, now, my ipod is breaking. It deletes songs off on its own without ever going near a computer. Anyways, a few weeks ago, i took it to the apple store because of the 1 year apple warranty and because it was obviously manufacturers problems. They looked at it and of course it worked perfectly fine while it was there. i followed all the instructions that they told me to do and now its doing the same thing again. its faulty. so, if i take it back there, is there any way that i can just get a store credit for it? i dont want the same one (now they only sell the 120G) because ive only had problems with these types of ipods. Resolved Question: How can I switch files from an old Windows XP to a Mac WITHOUT using USB?

My current computer is Windows XP that I have had for almost 4 years now It's old, and slow (despite the rigorous cleanings I've run it through) I'm pretty sure that viruses and malware removal programs have deleted alot of important things. especially a certain system32 file it says it cannot find or run whenever I start windows up called csrss.exe, even though I found it under WINDOWS and the file folder that it's looking in is hidden. It says it's running under Processes. hmm.. ANYWAYS I'm getting my father's old Mac from work that they used at his television production company to edit film for Christmas. normally, I would either use my 80g iPod video as an external hard drive to transfer files or even buy a USB file transfer cable but the USB port doesn't seem to work as of today. I normally access the internet through a wireless USB adapter, so I can't even do it wirelessly or through the web. (I am using my sister's laptop to go on yahoo right now) Is there any other way I can transfer about 36GB of music, videos, images, and zipped folders over to a mac at home and without taking it to a repair shop?My computer is way too slow to burn a CD or DVD and 36GB is alot to put on a disk, or even multiple ones. last time I tried burning a CD, the computer crashed. =/ Is there any other possible way? perhaps using an Ethernet cord? more
