Open Question: Which iPod should I get? Classic or Nano?

Let's get this straight: I own an iPod Touch (which I'm using to type this messege), so please no smart-butt comments like "You should get an iPod Touch!" or stuff like that, because I don't want another. Since I have an iPod Touch, everyone wants to play with it, and I'm too annoyed. When I say "No" they beg over and over and over again! So I finally give it to them, and when I get it back, a chunk of the battery is gone. I don't want to spend $50 on a detatchable battery and such, and have that stuffed in my pockets until I need it, so I just want another iPod with enough capacity for all of my current music, along with extra space for music I might get in the future. I want the Nano 16GB, since it's small and compact, yet has a lot of space. But I've also been looking at the Classic with its 160GB capacity, which I wouldn't ever come close to using all of that space. I'm willing to spend between $100 and $275, but I don't want to spend all that money on something that might break down a lot. So, in your own opinion, which is longer lasting, doesn't get scratched easily, and isn't problematic? Oh, by the way, I have about 6.3GB of music, 2.4GB of videos, and I'm going to need space for recorded videos if I get the iPod Nano. Please help- Kaleb more

Open Question: Help with a stolen MetroPCS cellphone.?

I had a Samsung Messanger ..Untill my house got robbed, lost that phone, my ipod touch, and Xbox 360 I wanted to try to trace my phone to see where it is, and probably where it is is where my ipod and xbox is. I called metroPCS and they said my phone had been deactivated. They said it had been deactivated February 5th. Whoever deactivated it is the person who stole the phone. metroPCS told me to go to a store to get more information. I find out the metro store i go to is the same store it was deactivated at (February 6th) the person at the help desk said they'll do some stuff to the phone so if it is tried to be activated, it wont work and if taken to the metro store, it will be confiscated. What shocks me is the robber had to know my 8 digit passcode to deactivate my phone (which was my b-day) and they knew it surprisingly, abetting them to deactivate the phone. I know for sure nobody in my family stole from me. The day we got robbed (February 4th) the police said house robberies have been happening on the same street. The robbers mostly stole games and electronics. The police think some kids broke into the house because they probably put what they could fit into their backpacks. We and the police don't know how they got into the house. My question is, how do I find the identity of the person who deactivated the phone? Shouldn't metroPCS have a record of the person who deactivated the phone? I know for sure the person has my other stolen goods. Lastly, I called my local police department again, and they said I should ask metroPCS to check the video surveillance to get a visual on what the guy looks like. Any help/ideas/past experience? I would REALLY DEEPY APPRICATE your help. You don't know how enraged and sad at the same time I am behind this computer screen. Thank you for your help. more

hey everyone i just posted the exact same quistoin about a week ago but i forgot to ask somthing so here... eellloooo. k so i have an iphone 3gs and i no it sounds spoiled but someone stole my second gen. ipod nano, and i need another ipod cuz i cant listen to music on my iphone or my batter will die since i listen to alot in a day. im debating between the ipod nano, classic, and touch. i like the ipod nano becuase of all the colors and the video recorder. ipod classix because it has ALOT of capacity, and plus i like the bulk cuz it seems more guyish i guess. but the bad thing about it is it has a hard drive which slows down over time and can break much easier than solid state. and ipod touch because its cheeper than the classic and it has a biger screen, app store, and interent but at the same time people are saying classic cuz itl look stupid and all that stuff. but it has a solid state hard drive which can take much more abuse than regular and breaks alot harder and doesnt slow down. what do you people think ? ipod classic, touch, or nano ?or do you guys think i shuold just wait until september and hope that apple makes an 8th generatoin which might be alot bettter, less freezzy, and hopefully with solid state? cuz i dont want to spend 300 bucks and regret it.or should i get a zune hd ? more

I'm looking at buying an MP3 or MP4 player. I used to have a Creative Zen Vision:M but it broke and was no longer under warantee, and I could but a new one for the price to repair it. The reason I bought it is that it seemed the best at the time, but that was 5 years ago... My question is, what it the best valued player? I want it to hold songs (Pref. something over 15GB) Must have a screen-Prefer iPod/Vision/Zune type screen with scroll pad type technology, but doesn't have to be one of these brands Must have good reviews Holding Pics would be great, but no required, same with video Would love something that has a calendar on it (I know my old Zen you could sinc with Microsoft outlook) but again, not required. i got a new laptop because my old one broke. It doesnt even turn on. So all my songs were obviously on my old laptop. Is there a way to transfer the songs on my ipod, to my new computer? If not, thats not really a problem cuz i could just re-download the songs. I didnt have that many songs. But if i sync my ipod on the new itunes, will i lose all my apps and videos? Voting Question: Microsoft Zune 120gb or Cowon s9 32gb?

I'm considering replacing my 8gb ipod video. The backlight broke making the screen super dark. You need a light or you cannot see the screen. I had many problems with it so I am not interested in getting an ipod again. I really really like the Cowon s9 features, and wanted to get that. Then I find the Zune which had a much bigger internal HD. Which one do you think I should get? My intent is to rip the first entire season of 24 and drop the video files so i can watch them. So a big HD would be neccessary. I like the cowon's features, but for less I can get 120gb of storage, but I'm not attracted to the zune as much. Also, the Cowon is not dependent on a blacklight so I do not have to worry about blacklight issues. What should I get, or if you think there is another alternative? Whenever I play a video (or do anything that has sound), my laptop speakers play the sound perfectly. However, when I put my Ipod headphones into the audio jack, I don't have any sound. A few weeks ago, I did not have this problem at all. I already know that the headphones work perfectly (since they play sound perfectly when I used them in my ipod). But why can't I use them with my laptop? Is it possible that the audio outlet is broken (my laptop is only a year old, so I'm not sure about this)? So last week after I broke my iPod Touch I needed something else to fall back on: my old 30GB iPod Video (I got it when the first line of video-enabled iPods came out if that makes a difference). Now, I used to use my component cables to watch movies from my iTouch to my TV, and I figured my iPod video would work the same way. I set TV out to on, input to NTSC, and even tooled around with the widescreen option to no avail. It seems to recognize the cables (as when they're connected the video plays like a song on the iPod rather than like the usual video format) but I recieve no picture on my TV. My jacks are secure, but I don't know what else could be wrong. All help is appreciated. more

Lately I've been stuck in this cycle where I literally can NOT bring myself to fall asleep until like 2 or 3 AM on most nights. And it worries me because I care SO MUCH about school and sports. I get straight A's and am devoted to varsity track and cross country, and I don't want this bad sleeping habit to hinder my performance in class or in athletics at all. But, the weird thing is that (at least for the past couple weeks) it hasn't really effected me... like I'm still doing well in school, and I'm still performing to expectation on the track. Though, I do sometimes during class feel a lot more drowsy than usual, and some classes I find it hard to concentrate. So, this is why I want to make sure I'm getting the right amount of sleep, but I just can't. A lot of the times I'll get super carried away by things like the internet, video games, ipod. And I won't stop using them until about midnight. Then I'll try and lay in bed and seriously... I'll just sit there in bed from 12:00AM til like 2 or 3 AM not being able to fall asleep. It just makes no sense to me that I'll get like 4 hours of sleep the night before, take rigorous classes all day, then have practice after school, then finally do homework at home, and later on it'll be like midnight and it still takes me 2 or 3 more hours to fall asleep! It seems to me like I SHOULD just doze off the instant I hit the bed. But noooo, I toss and turn in my bed, pondering school, relationships, sports, etc. or just whatever happened that day or I'll start thinking about what I need to do the next day. I don't know... I should probably try eliminating the computer, xbox, ipod for like a couple nights and see how that turns out. It still makes no sense to me though that even if I'm not using those things, that I can just lay in bed bored out of my mind, and not fall asleep. I'd love to be getting 8 hours of sleep (AT LEAST!) instead of the current 3-5... Any ideas, suggestions, would be totally appreciated. THANKS!Regarding J5: Yeah, like a couple of weeks ago a buddy and I pulled 2 all-nighters in a row. We'd go to sleep at like 7:30AM and sleep til like 3 or 4 PM haha (if that's what you consider an all-nighter). Resolved Question: How do I fix my Jail broken ipod?

Well I jail broke my ipod touch 1st gen and it froze. I managed to unfreeze it from using videos on You Tube. What I have on the screen is the itunes logo and the cable. I guess telling me to connect it to my computer and restore it. Now it wants me to restore it so I would loose all my music. Is there anyway I can by pass the restore and get my Ipod to work without loosing all my data. Also when I do what it tells me to do on youtube it brings me back to the original screen that I was on which was just a lot of writing. Any help would be great thanks. more

My hard drive crashed a while ago and i recently got a new computer. I have my ipod with all my songs on it. We brought it to geek squad to try and retrieve the data, and they couldn't. We had to send it to HP to get a totally new harddrive with no memory or anything on it. How do i transfer these songs onto another computer? because of the threat of it being stolen i never authorized the ipod to transfer songs onto another computer. is there someway i can transfer these songs onto my computer? I have tried plugging it in and then taking the songs off of it and putting them in my iTunes library. It doesn't work. I would rather not have to download/pay for a program to help me with this problem. (if it helps it is a video 160gb silver) more

Resolved Question: Brand new video ipod Nano stuck on apple screen?

So I've read almost every post there is to read about resetting your ipod. I've put it in Disk Mode, held down the Menu/Select buttons, reset it, toggled the hold button, let it die all the way then charge it again, disconnected and reconnected to my mac, and it still won't come off the apple logo. It's brand new, so there's no way its like, broken. I've downloaded music onto it once and took a video. Next time I tried to charge it, the apple screen just didn't go away. Any suggestions? I'm not tryin to take it to the apple store quite yet. more
