Resolved Question: Should i keep or return my new ipod nano?
Okay, so i got an ipod nano 16g yesterday, and it really just bores me with the wheel and all that. I owned an itouch 2nd gen. and loved it. i thought i needed something like the nano, but really it bores me. They gave me 15 days to return it. and i am debating on whether its just a phase thing or what. I like EXCITING technology and the video camera is great but just the specs of the wheel and limited amount of buttons hah. I want to get the ipod touch but they no longer have a 16g and that mainly what i need. or should i clean out my music and get the 8g. HELP this has ate me this weekend. ALSO, should i wait until september, maybe the ipod touch comes out with more great futures, like camera? Any answers will be greatly valued. Thank You all. moreResolved Question: Why does the iPad from Apple suck?
Seriously, I looked at this pile of crap recently, and all I could do was get angry at Apple. What were they thinking? Did they just tape 4 iPod touches together to come up with this? It's the exact same but for a giant. It's very uncreative, and an insult to technology. iPad's spec's: 1ghz CPU, 16 - 64 GB HDD, 9.7inch XGA screen, Mono sound, no USB's no SD slots, no PC card, not even a damned headphone jack! HP TC 1100's spec's (made 7 years ago as a similar touch screen device like iPad) 1.2ghz CPU, 40 - 80GB HDD, 10.4inch XGA screen, stereo sound, 2 USB's, 2 SD slots, 1 PC Card, an RJ45, RJ11, VGA video output and the god-damned headphone jack too the HP TC 1100 from 7 f*cking years ago beats this piece of crap iPad, and no doubt a fraction of it's price nowadays, and Apple seriously expect it's fanbase to buy into iPad? iPad? More like iBad.Bon-gart, it's still a question; Let me clarify, I asked why it's sucking like it is, and explained where it fails, the question is, why the hell are they doing this failed marketing. moreVoting Question: Should I get a MacBook or can I get away with using a iPad?
I have always wanted a mac and at the moment i am in sixth form (I will be getting a MacBook for uni, but at the moment I need a computer). My parents want to replace their computer with a cheap pc after buying a relativly good dell (£700 on sale) I preposed that I no longer used it for much and use my iPod touch mainly for Internet. They have agreed to do a swap where I get a Ipad and my parents get to use my pc. I tried getting a mac when I bought my pc but my parents wouldn't let me buy one as they thought that macs where too expensive for the specs. The price of the Ipad means they will let me get one. I mainly browse the Internet and will need to write the ocassional essay (my only essay subject is economics which I am dropping at the end of the year). I have a decent cameara and a fair amount of movies and music. Will the iPad satisfy my needs? Also does the iPad have flash player? Can I edit videos and photos? How indepent of the need for a main computer is the Ipad? Thanks for all your help moreResolved Question: macbook 13" or 15" for college? get free ipod & printer in rebate?
I'm going to college next fall so saving for a macbook but do need laptop recently, do you think that apple will give out free ipod and printer in rebate by the back to school time this year , does it include ipod tough? If yes, when (period of time for specific)? Should I buy now (mean in 3-month time, in April) or wait? Also, I do want to ask that I'd love to buy a serious laptop that I will use for a pretty long time and it'll be my laptop to carry around plus my primary desktop at home so what model of macbook should I choose: MBP 13" high end or 15" low end? specs pretty much the same, $200 extra worth it? I don't play game, needs say basic but sitting front of computer screen lot of time, lots of readings (like large font size), web search, research, write paper, often stay up late, things school student do. Hardly do things concern graphic, photo or video editing, plan to take courses on them but not sure. student so money does matter but don't want to be later regret. Thanks in advance!I don't want windows laptop. moreResolved Question: macbook 13" or 15" for college? get free ipod?

I have a movie file that is already a MP4, but its specifications do not match that of my ipod therefore, I cannot put it on my ipod. I am looking perhaps for a free program of some sort to allow me to convert my Mp4 file to a Mp4 file that falls within the specifications of my ipod and will allow me to play it on my nano. Hi I bought this mp3/4 player for my daughter with the following spec's: -Built in 8GB Memory -65 000 True Color 1.8" TFT LED Screen -16 Language Support:English / Chinese / French / Spanish / Portuguese / Russian / German / Italian / Denmark / Dutch / Polish / Swedish / Czech / Japanese / Korean / Thai -Support MP3, WMA, WMV, ASF, WAV, ASF, ACT Formats -7 Preset Equalizers:Natural, Rock, Pop, Classic, Soft, Jazz, DBB -Support AMV format movie. So no concerns there. I thought I did enough research before I bought this item but now I am thinking twice about it, my daughter is 12 and she needs something that isn't going to be to technical. I dont have 145.00 to purchase a ipod nano or I would have done just that, My question is Will she be able to upload music videos and her music to listen to with little problems? I notice it states that it says: -Supports AMV format movie. MPG, MPEG I, MEG II, AVI, MOV, QT etc are convertible to AMV files, I' m concerned this is going to be one of those players that I will have to jump through hoops to get to work ever time she wants to listen or watch her videos. Has anyone purchased one of these off ebay and if so what was your experience with the item? Thank you all. moreResolved Question: Why do so many people have brand loyalty to Apple?
Really, the only good thing they put out is the iPod, but to be completely frank, unless you're a professional music/video editor their computers are worthless. Don't get me wrong, they have nice specs, but in all cases of desktops you can build a better PC than any top-of-the-line Mac for little more than half the price. Furthermore, if you have a Mac and you want a better computer, you need to buy a whole new Mac. In the case of a PC, you can just upgrade a few parts to meet your needs, which obviously costs a few grand less to do. And yeah, there's a few Mac desktops out there are upgradeable (and only one you can upgrade more than just the RAM and HDD, the Pro I believe), but even then the cost difference between that and a normal PC is so immense that the price advantage for the upgradability disappears. On a side note, if you accidentally delete something on a PC you can almost always get it back through DOS. If you're using a Mac, you're just plain screwed. And the reason there are so few viruses for Macs isn't because they have good protection from it, it's because for the past decade or so PCs have help 95% of the market share and thusly viruses were practically exclusively made for PCs. As Apple grows in the market share, they will continually get more and more viruses. And before you bring up PCs and crashing, let me remind you that Macs have their own version of "crashing" that is just as annoying and almost as prolific. I suppose my question is this: Is it really just a matter of "OOH LOOK A SHINY COMPUTER" that makes Apple good? Is it the customer service? Maybe as someone who is fairly knowledgeable about computers I would never care for these things, so is it just a matter of a bunch of people who want computers but don't want to learn how to use one? moreResolved Question: whats better archos 5 android or ipod touch 3g?
whats better spec wise? what has better features? whats the better internet browser? what is the best all in one device? I've been leaning towards archos 5 android because ive been a developer for the g1 for a while, but i don't know what the achos 5's developer support is like. But i haven't checked the ipod touch free apps so it might be better for more things. p.s: i'm mainly going to be using this as a pocketable web device not really for music or video moreResolved Question: one of my friends wants the latest posible Mp3 video player thing, Whats the best newest coolest?
Dont bother talking about the Ipod, I already know the specs and it makes money for RIAA so I am very much against the company until they change their ways. Im looking for something REALLY cool and new, the good stuff that isn't advertised! common techies! what do you want for christmas!? moreVoting Question: what video formats does the Sony 8GB Video MP3 Player (S544) play?
so i'm thinking about purchasing this mp3 player, but i wanna be sure that my video files will work on it. i'm thinking about getting an ipod as a last resort as customer reviews i've read on it have said it plays many different versions of media files, but the price for this sony product is very good. I also do not want to have to deal with itunes. the product specs i've read have been very broad. So to sum up, is the the Sony 8gb video mp3 player compatible with many video files (ie. mp4, avi, mpeg, wmv)?Does it play majority of video formats such as avi, mpeg, mp4, etc.? Or would i have to download a program to keep converting the video files? moreResolved Question: archos vs samsung p3?

I own a 16GB Samsung P2 mp3 player... It recently died, and is being replaced by Samsung (under warranty). I was planning on buying an iPod touch, and would like to get a head start on the savings... Specs: -16 GB -3" touch screen -music, video, pictures, FM -bluetooth capabilities From my experiences with my last Samsung (k3), I would assume that they would give me a refurb - which is as good as new, just not in the box... So what do you think wou;ld be a reasonable price to ask for this??? Btw, I checked amazon, ebay, and local electronics stores... Nothing... Thanks in advance moreResolved Question: Is this netbook adequate for my needs?
I am considering buying a brand new Asus EEE PC netbook, 900 series. Basic specs: screen 8.9"; 120GB SATA hard drive; 1GB memory; 900mhz Celeron processor; wireless LAN. It will be pre-loaded with Windows XP (I would probably prefer Linux, but I'll get to that in a moment) and I'm assuming the included battery would be a 3-cell battery. Now, I obviously don't expect this to be a primary PC; I have a desktop computer and an older laptop. I really only want a netbook because it will be much easier to carry around on a daily basis. However, I'm not sure if a 900mhz processor will be quick enough to handle what I want to use this netbook for, or if having Windows XP loaded will make the fan run louder/the system run hotter. I'm a grad student and I write a ton of papers, mostly 20-pagers, and I always participate in NaNoWriMo. I'd also want to take this unit to the library to use the wireless and read scholarly articles from EbscoHost (mostly 10-20 page articles in HTML or PDF format). And obviously, I'd want to surf the net and check my e-mail from time to time. I don't plan on listening to music on it or streaming a whole lot of video; I have an iPod for that. :) So, I guess I have several questions: will this netbook most likely be able to live up to my demands; that is, will it be able to handle that much word processing? Will it be so slow it will hardly be usable? (I can handle a little lag when opening files, the browser, etc; I can't handle a 10 second wait every time I click something or constant freezing.) Will the fan loudly and, if so, would reloading the computer with Linux improve the situation?OH! And this particular model does not have a pre-installed webcam, but I would like to talk to my mother over Skype. Could this computer handle a USB webcam video chat over Skype without freezing up constantly? moreVoting Question: What types of speakers best compliment the Audio Deck Ive chosen?
I have bought a Boss 720CA deck to replace a malfunctioning Pioneer receiver. The Pioneer Receiver had 160 Watts Max output with 40 W-RMS x 4 Channels while the Boss receiver pushes out 200 Watts Max and 50 W-RMS x 4 Channels. What wattage speakers can I buy to best compliment the Deck? I dont want Brand names but I want numbers that I can read off a box. The speakers dont have to be amazing, or name brand... I would just like to listen my music in my car without having to put the Bass output to -8 to remove distortion from my music. My current Setup are four Pioneers 13cm 2-way Coaxils that punch 150 W Max and 30 W Nom. (WTF is Nom.?) and two Rockford Forgate 3 1/2" 2-way 30 watt peak tweeters. This video tells a lot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qag65AvGq… But i am still wondering how the speed of the internet will be, will it be same as the ps3 internet or better? Will it have Flash Player built in? Also what is the difference between psp 3000 and psp go. I also found out that the games you have purchased for old psp can be replaced for free by downloading them in the psn store? Is that true? What is big difference between psp go, ipod touch and zune hd? moreResolved Question: To get a Macbook Pro 13in or a Sony laptop?
I've been a long time pc user and used to hate macs, mainly because of its operating system. I'm going off to college and I need a laptop, after doing some research the laptops that meet the specifications I want (4GB RAM, around 250 GB hard drive, around 2.53GHZ) are the Sony laptops (I trust Sony, I've tried almost all the other brands) and the Macbook Pro 13 in <--now that it has bootcamp. I saw some videos/reviews of people running windows 7 on a Macbook Pro, and I've seen only good reviews. I tend to use a variety of programs with some occasional video/sound editing but all are windows apps. If I were to get the Macbook I would be using Windows on it 98% of the time. What's appealing about the Mac is that it's just a little bit cheaper than the Sony laptop with the same specs (cept the Sony one forces me to get one with a 320 GB hard drive if I want the same amount of RAM and speed plus I don't really need thattt much space) and it comes with a free 8 GB ipod touch and a free printer. Both are around $1500. Thanks for reading my lengthy explanation, hope you guys can give me some advice! moreResolved Question: Ipod Touch 3rd Generation.?

SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME!!! moreResolved Question: IOMEGA SCREENPLAY EASE OF USE?
I'm thinking about buying this as I have a ridiculous amount of films, tv etc on my external hard drive. I've looked at the specs and I can see that (video wise ) it is compatible with MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (AVI/VOB), MPEG-4 (AVI/DiVX 3.11, 4.x, 5.x/XViD) The problem is, I don't actually know what that means. Exactly, I'm an IT moron. I know MPEG4 is how my videos turn out if I convert them to play on my IPOD but thats just because theres a big Q with MPEG4 under it on the Icon for the file. So, if I just download a film or something online, do I then have to convert it? If I have it downloaded and the Icon for the file is just the standard Windows Media symbol and it says under the Icon "Video Clip", will this still play? The reason I'm going for the IOMEGA is because it's apparently really basic and " plug and play " but I'm genuinely not up enough on this stuff to know if the files I have will be OK. I realise this may seem like a really basic and silly question to some of you, but if anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it. moreResolved Question: Computer Novice - Iomega Screenplay TV Link?

I realise this may seem like a really basic and silly question to some of you, but if anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it. moreResolved Question: Fastest way of video encoding/conversion of YouTube videos?
What is the best hardware for video encoding a YouTube video from mp4 format to an iPod video 5th generation. I am confused as to whether the CPU or video card does the task. I am currently using an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ and an ATI Radeon 9550. It usually takes about double the time to encode for the length of the video. I have had my new ipod nano since Christmas. Yet, I have noticed that the storage is completely filled--and it only has 400 songs! I have bought videos, games, and downloaded podcasts, yet I can't upload any of it. I have taken out all photos, games, etc. There is only 400 songs allowed. I know that the tech specs said it is supposed to hold 2000 songs alone. My friend has the same ipod as me. She has over 100 podcasts, three music videos, over 800 songs, and her storage is only about 3/4 through. Can someone please tell me what is wrong or how I can fix this? moreResolved Question: How can I solve this hardware issue and why is it happening?
I seem to be having some-what the same problem. It started with flickering of the screen with purple and red dots, so I would alt tab and only to find that would make my screen flicker even more, everything I executed made it flicker, the only way I could stop it was to restart my comp...A few months go by without a problem (although I do notice Purple and red dots on my screen when I boot up) untill recently, I would be playing wow then all of a sudden my comp would freeze, go completly grey, lock up then slowly bring the picture back after it brang the picture back I was able to play again, this went on for a few weeks, untill yesterday the locking started happening a lot making the game unplayable. So I reset my comp, only to find short red and purple bar code type lines on the windows loading screen so I was hoping I could find some sort of driver to fix this problem, unfortantly before windows loaded my screen went black, with the monitor light flashing on and off so I cleaned up the card a bit and put it in the other slot same thing, but I was able to get windows loaded, but couldnt see anything because these bar code type lines we're everywhere, shortly after my comp restarted, Back to square 1,sadly the only thing my comp is good for now is charging my ipod . Something tells me I need a new video card hopefully not a new mb aswell. Anyone that could shine some light on this problem before I go dump money on something that won't fix the problem would be greatly appreciated. Hi all, I've got a classic ipod of the 6th generation. I seem to be facing the problem with display. They are always there. The music is played fine along with the videos but having these two specs on my display is really irritating. OK, it's not so much a challenge, but that was the easiest way to word my question and I figured I might get some more decent responses! lol...anyhow, I am getting the new Dell Ispiron Mini 10 which (from the reviews I've read thus far) is a front runner for netbooks and a great upgrade from the somewhat crappy Mini 9! I know Netbooks have their limits, so here is what I am asking: Look at the things I would like to/plan on doing with my notbook and tell me if this netbook would be ok or completely horrible for these jobs, keeping in mind that I would NOT mind having to use SD cards for extra storage and I ALREADY KNOW that it does not include a CD/DVD drive... THANKS TO ALL WHO RESPOND AND HAVE A GREAT DAY! :<) Here are the specs, and if you are completetly bored (lol), take a look at the video provided from the QVC channel (they launched it on here believe it or not!)which has the Dell guy talking about some specs as well. Hey! I bought my MacBook and Ipod Touch in September of 2008 as my first Apple products, which I have wanted since a child lol N e wys I have been noticing a gradual build up of DUST somehow INSIDE the screen of the Ipod Touch!!! :O now there is close to about 10 small white specs on the screen, which to someone as paranoid as me is VERY noticeable! especially when watching videos which is one of the main things I use it for. I have tried to blow the dust out through the charger hole, but it didn't work. So my question is: what should i do to remove the dust if thats even possible, OR if i go to the Apple store will they fix it or give me a new Ipod Touch??? I have a First Generation Ipod Touch and I live in Canada. Thanks :) moreResolved Question: how to make itunes faster?
Hi there, I'm running iTunes 8 and it is INCREDIBLY SLOW.... I am running this on a brand new computer I built myself......it has a Quad Core 2.4 ghz processor and 2GB of RAM. I would think that these specs would be BY FAR sufficient to run such a simple application.....but iTunes constantly locks up, and responds extremely slowly (30 seconds to switch between video and music libraries, for example) I have nearly 2000 songs, and they are stored on a network drive. But I doubt that the amount of music would be having such an effect? The entire application is slow, not just how it accesses the music. I must say I am VERY unhappy with Apple at the moment. All I want to do is run iTunes so I can sync my ipod! This computer is brand new (I built it a month ago) so I don't think any disk-defragmenting, etc is the problem. It's a problem with the program itself. Anybody know what's up with this? ThanksI am running Windows XP, by the wayI'm not running any resource-heavy applications When I do a fresh restart, iTunes still will run slow (and my computer is extremely clean because I use it for home audio recording....so no applications run in the background usually) It's not a system performance problem, it is the application itself. Any registry edits, etc that can be done? moreResolved Question: Why does my computer keep turning off?

I'm going to buy a laptop soon (ok, sometime in January), but I don't want to spend too much only not to use all (or close to all) the space I have on it. I know what I want on the computer as far as specs are concerned such as resolution, screen size, webcam, bluetooth, and other functions, but the only thing troubling me is the hard-drive space on the thing! I already know that I want 4 GB of RAM on it (3 GB works too, but that's the absolute lowest I'd be willing to go). It all comes down to 320 GB of space or 250 GB. I'm a college freshman, and I enjoy listening to music, and I plan to acquire a lot more music over the upcoming months, but I have nowhere else to store it all (other than the home computer, ugh). I want an iPod as well, so I have to factor in space for iTunes and other applications for other things. I will occasionally download some videos off the Internet, but its not much (usually less than 5GB of total space used). Help?Yeah Marvin, I JUST realized the other option. This revelation hit me like a brick, seriously. I thought about it 3 minutes after I asked this question. I can't believe I overlooked that option. I feel like an idiot lol. Anywho, thanks for the help (all who answered/will answer). Seems as though the thought was in my mind, but not in the right place. I think I'd be better off with going with the 250GB seeing as how if any space expansion is necessary, it would be cheap for me to do. moreResolved Question: Can a smart guy/gal help me?
I don't like to be lazy, and I've done my research on all those things I can understand, so I've decided to buy a yamaha rx-v3900. For it's price, it seems to have ALL the great features, whereas comparable denon, sony and onkyos seem to not have either HD tuner, or Ipod docking, or have fewer HDMIs etc. This receiver seems to have it all and supposedly the video processor is great to boot. But what speaker specs should I look for? I really have no clue about OHMS, hertz, impedance, and THD. That's just waay too technical for me and I assume most people, since most of us are not actual audio engineers. So can someone with an idea about speaker audio help?? Here are the specs 140 watts x 7 into 8 ohms (20-20,000 Hz) at 0.04% THD Dolby® TrueHD, DTS-HD™ Master Audio, Dolby® Digital Plus, DTS-HD™ High Resolution Audio, Dolby® Digital EX, DTS-ES™, Pro Logic® IIx, DTS Neo:6, and SRS Circle Surround II decoding http://www.crutchfield.com/p_022RXV3900/Yamaha-RX-V3900.html?tp=179 I'm not asking for specific speaker models, but at least a rough idea of what should I look for in the speakers themselves (front, center, sorround, surround back, and sub) so that the receiver and speakers make the most out of each other... please! I plan this as a 5+ year investment that's why I want to buy the right products even if it's shelling some cash for the receiver with latest features, so I don't want to ruin it with inadequate speakers for it... Thank you. moreResolved Question: In-Dash Video .. recommended?
