I just bought my first Apple iPod Touch two days ago and i just now noticed a dead or stuck pixel on my screen. Its right smack dab in the center of the screen and can get pretty annoying when im watching a video or when im looking at photos. In addition to that you could say that im OCDish about my stuff in the way that one dead pixel is going to annoy the crap out of me. I wanted to know if i took the itouch back to the apple store would they give me a new one or fix it for me? This dead pixel is going to kill me. I mean stuck pixel. I used the programme SharePod to recover my music, and I thought I was able to use this for my photos (as I can still view my photos on this programme, but not get them onto the computer?!) Does anyone know how I can get these photos? I do not mean photos I have saved on my iPod touch.. I know how to get these. I am on about photos from my library that I have synced onto there, that I want to sync back. ok i have an 8GB touch that i just got for christmas and i have a really bad memory issue I have 580 songs at 4.70 GB!!! i have 23 videos at 604.8 GB I have 179 photos and 37 apps at 474.3 GB i want to know why my songs are taking up so much space i went to the ipod store in my mall and they told me that the songs i downloaded is taking up so much space but i figured out the songs i downloaded takes up the least amount of space my Cd songs take up the most and the Itunes songs take up the 2nd most. i dont get it i have 4.70 GB!!!! of songs im so pissed but thats not the big problem i was fine with the 1GB i had left and them out of nowhere i put 3 new songs on it and the it said 614.2 GB of other WTF is other????? i know resotring it might fix it but i have cod zombies and i bought the new map and i was wondering that if i restore it will i lose my add-ons? i dont wanna have to pay another 5$ for the map and the other add-ons i have like touch studio i upgraded that from the menu i didnt download it from the app store. i can deal with losing my pictures and my songs,videos,and apps (i still dont know about the add-ons) willl be stored on Itunes i just need to know about the apps before i restore it and if that doesnt work what should i do about the other??? okay my itouch hasn't been working for a while, It won't sync anything anymore not music, photos, games, videos, anything!!! I want to try to restore my ipod, but i'm afraid to because it might not solve my problem. I'm worried it still won't sync after and that I'll have to get a new one....again. About 2 weeks ago, i jailbroke my iPod Touch. 3 days ago, there was a new firmware update from apple so i decided to update it. However, after the update, the amount of files on my iPod touch seems a bit weird. After the restore, and i synced the files back. Anyway, here are the questions: 1. Does itunes backup jailbroken apps and roms? 2. Does a restore wipe all files off an iPod touch or does it just wipe the music and videos? 3. Why would the pictures folder on my ipod touch be 145.1mb when i only synced 225 photos that weren't even very high quality? You don't have to answer all the questions, just the one you know. Thanky you and i appreciate it.The thing is, the jpeg files all together on windows is only about 20mb. Also, if itunes does backup everything including the jailbroken apps and roms, how do i get rid of them? more

Ok I'm new to animation. I like to make movies but I've made only one animation in my art class using Scratch on a mac. So that's my experience also I have done the classic bouncng ball on a pad of stickies. So I was installing a bunch of new apps to my iPod while a bunch of my old apps were being updated. Anyway, my iPod suddenly turns off. So now I can't turn it off. Whenever I try turning it on, the apple comes up and then it just turns again. Then, I plugged it into my laptop, and it says that my iPod is currently in recovery mode and I have to restore the settings in order for it to work which means all of my 600 songs, 7 pages of apps, photos, and videos will. Be. DELETED. Oh, and I don't have any of it saved on my laptop. Just my luck. Can anyone tell me a way to fix this problem without restoring my iPod settings? I recently had this problem with my iPod Touch 8g (I got it on christmas, so it isn't that old.) I got this one to replace the old one i had (same model, everything worked fine until the motherboard snapped in half and wouldn't work) and my dad got an Apple Care thing that works for three years (my dad told me that it would repair any type of problem on the ipod, unless it was completely broken OR had been jail-broken) just in case anything of the sort happened again. So, yesterday, I was going to sync my old apps and music with my new ipod. I synced old photos, videos, music, and apps. I did not sync any movies, and my iPod didn't have maximum captivity. So I was all happy because all of my settings were back to the way they were. I wanted to try out a new app that I had bought. I tapped it, it opened for about 2 seconds, then it went back to the home screen. I was confused, thinking that it was only with that app. I deleted it, re-installed it, and the same thing happened. I thought that only that app had the problem, so I tried an app that I had recently recovered from my old ipod. (NOTE: My old iPod did not have any TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, it just broke from a horrible fall down the stairs.) The same thing happened. I tried with an app that I had before, and guess what happened-- it wouldn't open. I got frustrated, especially because it was new and there was nothing wrong with it the same afternoon. I moved back all my information to my computer (which has plenty of space on it) and restored it. moved one app over to my ipod and tried it. It wouldn't open. So I deleted all of my apps, and tried it on the ones that came with the iPod (calendar, mail, contacts, clock, safari, youtube, and notes.) That worked fine. I could access Safari, and do all of the crap that nobody really does. Is there any way to fix this without going all the way to the Apple store and having them fix it for you? Also, it the number of Gs on it the problem?When you say "reset" does that mean turning it off? more

Hello everyone and merry Christmas! I just had a question. I just got a new 16G iPod nano for Christmas today, so I loaded some of my music onto it. When I'm on the main menu on my iPod, it says things like "Videos, photos, podcasts, etc." but no "music" category. I could have swarn there was one before I started loading my music. I know my songs were added because when I press the "shuffle music" category, all my music is there, but I don't want to play my music shuffled all the time. The past couple months my ipod hasn't been working that great. Sometimes when i try to get it to the Menu after playing a song, it won't do anything, just turn the volume up and down. Today I plugged it in to my computer to put some new songs on it, but iTunes won't recognize that its there, and it won't charge. The main screen comes on, where it says Music... Videos.... Photos...etc... but the album pictures won't show down at the bottom and I can't click on it or scroll at all. Should I get a new ipod with my warranty or is it fixable? Any other advice? I am most interested in music than in games. Photos and videos, but I cannot choose between a brand new ipod classic 160 gb or a refurbished ipod touch 32 gb more

i've had my eye on an new iPod for a while. I have the money and stuff, I just don't know which one to buy. I don't want a shuffle, because it won't have enough space for all my music (and if your headphones break, you're kinda screwed), the classic has a lot of bang for your buck, but a) it's a little too bulky for me, and b) i don't think I'll need 160GB and only use about 10. I like games, so I'm thinking about the iPod Touch on that note, but I'm afraid I won't have enough room for my photos, videos, music, apps, etc. and still have enough room for when I get more music. I want a compact, yet "big" iPod. That's where the iPod Nano comes in. I really want a 16GB 5th gen. but again, i'm afraid I won't have enough room for videos, music, and other stuff. Please help!! more

Resolved Question: Motorola Droid or iPod touch for my needs?

So I am with Verizon Wireless and I would prefer to stay with them. I currently have the LG env2 and my 2 year contract is almost up. I was thinking about upgrading and getting the Motorola Droid, however I am not sure I want to pay for a data plan. Really all I was looking for is a phone with wifi, MP3, and photo/video capabilities. I like the idea of having a phone that can do it all so I don't have to carry around two devices with me. Now I was thinking if I didn't go with the droid, I would just upgrade to probably another newer phone that doesn't require a data plan and buy an iPod touch for my other needs. What do you guys think? It would save me money in the long run if I just bought the iPod touch, but it would be nice to have something all in one. Are there any pros/cons to either device, like photo/video quality? more

Resolved Question: Buying a new ipod, classic or nano?

I'm am looking at buying a new Ipod. I'm am debating getting the new 160GB classic or the 16GB nano. Since you can watch movies on both of them I was wondering if the Nano would work in the dark since it has an TFT screen instead of the Classics LCD??? I was also wondering if either of them can take photo's? I know the nano takes videos but I was wondering if it can also take just plain photos? Any other help would be nice. I have a 60GB ipod video and i may be getting the new 32GB ipod touch. now i only have about 20GBs used up on my current ipod. is there a way to transfer all of my music and everything from one ipod to another? most of my music isnt on my computer since we recently got a new computer. can i transfer files from ipod to ipod myself or do i have to take it to an apple store and have them do it? Resolved Question: There's something wrong with my iTouch...?

Has this happened to anyone else with an iPod Touch? When I first bought it on Saturday, I downloaded some apps and they all worked fine. But last night, which was Tuesday, I got more apps and all my aps got ruined. They wouldn't open. None of them. They'd open, but then go back home right away without me even doing anything. Does anyone know what's wrong with it? The videos and music is fine, it's just my apps that won't open. And only the ones I downloaded too. The icons that already existed (calendar, photos, calculator, etc.) work just fine. It's the games and other things that don't work. I bought it brand new from Best Buy four days ago. Does anyone know what's wrong? Thanks :)I've already tried turning it off and back on. And I've also deleted the apps, syncing it so that my ipod is empty, then I try putting the apps back. None of them will open either. It's not just a few, but all the apps that I've downloaded. more

ok for the black friday deals i wanted to buy a new ipod. i was planning on the itouch 3rd generation. i just didnt know which one to get. the 8gb or 32 gb. on my last ipod(which broke) it was the classic video 30 gb. i used about 4-5 gb on it with like 37 songs, 57 photos, and about 15 videos. so i am not sure if i am able to get the 8gb one which is the one i want becuase its cheaper and slimmer, but idk if its going to fit for what i am going to fit in there. so i am wondering which one should i get. is there any differences between the two other than capacity? is performance better? quality? speed? etc? help! more

SERIOUS PROBLEM iPod has over 100 songs and 500 photos no video. Yet one day I synced my iPod to iTunes and BAM all my music photos everything gone! But my music and everything is still on ipod. My music folder has NO music in. There is NO music I can get back unless I every day download music again and the album artwork which should take like 3 months. WHAT DO I DO. Voting Question: ITunes/Ipod Touch. I've tried to put photos on my Ipod but iTunes doesn't seem to let me?

I have Windows Vista and an Ipod Touch, I'm new to both of them. I have read and even watched a youtube video on how to put photos onto my Ipod but I can't seem to get iTunes to want to cooperate. I've plugged in my Ipod and clicked on my device like it said to. Then once my device came up I clicked on 'Photos' in the tool bar. Here is where the problem starts. It wont let me click on any of the options it gives me. It says Sync from: Photoshop Elements (It wont let me change that) It also has marked All photos and albums. I've tried to unmark that and mark the other option it gave me (Selected albums). Is there a reason I can't check or change any of these? On one of the youtube videos there was a comment saying you had to have iPhoto to do this but then I've also read that you don't have to. I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong? more

Voting Question: Should I return my Kodak Zi8 for an iPod nano w/ Video?

I JUST bought a Zi8 earlier tonight, I've shot some sample vids around the house and what not. It really doesn't look to different than the video I used to get off of my Sony digital camera. Anyhow I am only going to use this camera to take a few vids when we go on vacation, I'm a DSLR guy and I mainly take photos... and also to get some video of the kids doing and saying funny stuff. So since these two items are the same price, would I be better off getting the 5th gen iPod? I was going to buy a new mp3 player too, and I think I might be able to get a twofer here.. Give me your thoughts please! more
