Open Question: iPod stops syncing partway through?

I've had an 80GB 5th Gen iPod for a few years now (I think it's fifth gen, it plays color videos) and I've gone through much wear and tear on it, as well as dropping it a few times. About 6 months ago, it stopped syncing (the iPod itself goes from "Syncing, do not disconnect" to "Connected, Eject before disconnecting") while the computer is still trying to add files and music to the iPod. It stops about 36 songs into the sync. I've tried resetting the iPod itself, tried erasing the iPod altogether and updating it, but these don't work. I fear my only option is to take it apart and replace the hard drive inside the iPod, or the connector cable. Is there anything I'm missing that I could be doing to repair my iPod? more

Open Question: Problem with YouTube on itouch?

My iPod touch can go on YouTube.com but once I get there all the videos have a crossed out volume icon instead of a picture. I've only had it for a week and YouTube hasn't worked at all. I've tried it in different wifi networks, reset all the settings, enabled cookies, and please don't suggest enabling airplane mode because iPod touches don't have that option. any help would be greatly appreciated!! :) more

Voting Question: iPod Video Problem: Replaced battery but?

So I just got a 60GB 5th Gen ipod off ebay that said it just needed a new battery. So, I opened it up, replaced the battery and yeah, it worked. Connected it to my computer and it froze. It wasn't responding to a forced reset . . . sooo the only thing I knew to do was to disconnect the battery. Reconnected it, seemed to be working fine again. It has been freezing up a few times and now when I connect it to a power source to be charged, it comments that it has a very low battery and that I should wait. But even on that screen it freezes. And if I restart it without connecting it to a battery source. it shows the apple screen and then just a black bright screen. Do you think that they battery connection just isn't secure enough? Last thing, the area around the click wheel (so front panel) seems to be running unusually warm. Should I be worried about that? more

ok so last night my ipod stopped working, as in it told me i had 0 songs while i had over 1000, and would not allow me to connect it to the computer (reset itself over and over until i unplugged it) so i called apple support, long story short firmware corruption, minimum $100 to fix it, prob around $200. i have decided to buy a brand new ipod. i will buy it on tuesday. ipod touch- too much money right now. i was thinking ipod nano 5th gen? blue? hmm.... what do you think? what ipod should i get (besides touch)? oh and also, can you tell me what games each ipod has on it to begin with? like the nano 5th gen? i have no idea, and i really want to know. so here are my opitions, please tell me the games included in them: classic nano shuffle touch video mini and ya. what do you think??alright so, ot selling it on ebay. im just not. it was nano 4th gen. sorry forgot to mention that. if i connect it to the computer it does nothing, so thats out of the question. i have tried resetting it, nada. i have tried connecting it to another computer, same thing. also have reinstalled and updated itunes. nothing. answers??? more

Resolved Question: I reset my computer, is there any way I can get songs off my ipod?

I deleted all the files on my computer and back up only the files I needed and my brother witched out the mother board and other components in my computer. The back up files didn't include the music, pictures, or videos I have on my ipod, I thought that I could switch them over. It's been a couple months since then and I've collected a few songs before getting around to downloading itunes again so I could put those songs onto my ipod. Well, now I know that if I sync my ipod now, all the music, videos and pictures I have on there go, poof. I have an 8gb ipod nano. Is there anyway I can save the files onto my computer without deleting all of them permenantly? more

Well right now I have a 1st generation 16 GB ipod touch, and i am going wednesday with my mom to best buy to get a 32 GB ipod touch 3rd generation. I am sooo excited! Resolved Question: Remove Cydia/ black ra1n and restore ipod touch?

My friend recently installed some apps on my ipod which he told me are jail broken or something. I was able to delete 2 of the apps normally like I would to any other app. But Cydia was really hard to delete. I saw a video to delete it which worked but the problem is that now when I turn off my ipod and turn it on again it does not function unless it is connected to the computer and black ra1n is open. I would like to reset it to the normal settings so that I do not need to use black ra1n to turn on my ipod and just have it on normal settings. Please let me know if you know how I can do this. I know that my music and videos and apps will load back onto it, but what about my settings (like remembered wifi networks) and memory (passwords, safari bookmarks, etc.) be erased? Resolved Question: iTunes and iPod Touch Wont Sync.. AT ALL!?

Yesterday, i went to sync a video onto my iPod Touch 2G. iTunes acted like it was adding the video, but when it said complete, my iPod said "No Videos". so, if that wasent enough, i downloaded new apps and updates with the iPod over WiFi, and once again, iTunes takes 2-3 minutes "Transfusing Purchases" but then when it completes, NOT 1 of my apps transfered! Now its not Syncing Music, Videos, Photos, TV Shows... etc... please help. am i going to have to reset my iPod? more

Alright so last night I was using my ipod off the charge, no big deal, watching videos, listening to much, the usual. I plug it into my ihome to charge for the night, and it showed it was charging. I woke up this morning and I went to go play music, and the Ipod was off. I go to turn it on, and the apple symbol shows up like normal, then after 10-20 seconds, the Ipod turns off. I did the power and home button reset, and I also tried to plug it into my computer, it will no longer charge or even turn on. Any help? more

This morning none of my music or videos were working so I figured it was corrupted. I came home just now and plugged it in. I tested a few songs and a video and it all worked. I've had the iPod Video for 2 years. It's never acted up like this before. It needs to be reset twice before it starts to work, but now it just shows the different music and videos but it wont play anything. Yesterday it told me I need to plug it into my computer to restore it, so it said that it would delete everything on my ipod. So last night, my computer was downloading everything from my ipod to my itunes library. so this morning I restored my ipod, it said everything was fixed but when i plugged it in, it said my ipod still needed to be restored. I've had the obsolete iPod Video for two years. It's great WHEN IT WORKS. For the past two weeks, my ipod has been touchy lately. whenever I go to use it, it shows the ipod with the frowny face and the !. It needs to be reset twice before it starts to work. I have over $300 worth of stuff on it and I dont want to rebuy everything for the third time. Last time I did that I maxed out my dad's EXPIRED credit card and he got p-oed. I need some help. I even have the mp4 one's! I got an iPod (WORST MISTAKE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and I don't use iTunes for my songs and stuff. I use Limewire. Resolved Question: iPhone glitches ? battery meter/podcast, etc?

I have a few questions about the iPhone. I recently bought it a month ago so it is a black 3GS, newest software, whatever that is. 1. The battery percentage meter will say 100%, but when I disconnect it, it says 99%. I have to hard reset the phone then it reads 100% again. 2. I downloaded podcasts and it does not show up in the 'video' portion of the ipod feature sometimes, so I have to manually pull it from the 'podcast' section. (It should fall under the video part next to the music) 3. Does the Wifi automatically reconnect if left on, to an unsecure network of course? It seems to not pick up unless I manually force it to. I'm not sure if this is part of the options setting. I used to have a Blackberry, and decided to get an iPhone which I viewed as cream of the crop. I guess I'm just surprised at some flaws in the iPhone that I am noticing and inconsistancies. I may have had my expectations set too high. more

I have a 30 gig 5th gen iPod video. Everything works and i can scroll through everything just fine, however my play button does not work and my songs won't play even a single second. I reset and restored my iPod but it still won't play. There is nothing blocking the the button because I took it apart to see if there was. I have a jailbroken 2G iTouch running 3.1.2 firmware. I used the Categories app to place my music, video, and photo apps into a folder, and then decided not to and deleted the folder. Now, I can't find my music or video apps. I looked on Poof!, and I was able to get back my photo app, but no music or video. It shows a "iPod" icon, but whenever i turn it on or off, nothing happens. I have tried resetting, restarting springboard, syncing, etc. Nothing works. Any ideas? Help?EDIT: fixed it. Just added the music app into a new folder, then deleted the app from the folder. Ok this is what happened, my 80gb video ipod was working fine (besides a few glitches and the fact that it was a little slow some times) Then I connected it to A computer to charge, and this computer had no monitor, but that shouldn't matter, but I don't know the state of the computer. Then it went into disk mode and it said "DO NOT DISCONNECT" but I really had to go...so I turned the computer off and as soon as I did it said "OK to disconnect" but it was stuck like that (since its in disk mode) so I reset it, But then it was just stuck in reset mode, and it was incredibly irritating. It just showed the apple logo for awhile, then it like shut off, and when it shut off it made a clicking noise. Then it would turn back on and just repeat. Please help, how can I save my ipod?The middle and menu buttons are my reset buttons, that doesn't work, the reset is what I'm stuck in. My iPod won't turn off suddenly, so I tried resetting it. I've had to do it before (It's pretty old.), so I know how to. Resolved Question: Brand new video ipod Nano stuck on apple screen?

So I've read almost every post there is to read about resetting your ipod. I've put it in Disk Mode, held down the Menu/Select buttons, reset it, toggled the hold button, let it die all the way then charge it again, disconnected and reconnected to my mac, and it still won't come off the apple logo. It's brand new, so there's no way its like, broken. I've downloaded music onto it once and took a video. Next time I tried to charge it, the apple screen just didn't go away. Any suggestions? I had just put some songs on my iPod and was trying to listen to them, but I found that nothing would play. I went to the video section to see if I could play any of them, but when I tried to watch one, the screen went black. The iPod isn't off, but there isn't anything on the screen. My computer didn't recognize it when I plugged it in, and my attempts at resetting it (toggling the hold switch, Menu+Center, Menu+Play) were fruitless. Then i figured it connect it to the pc and just add everything back, but all it does either show the apple logo and stay like that or say that its "connected" put it doesn't pop up anywhere on itunes. i've done research, tried different usb ports, and reset it numerous times but still nothing! please HELP! thank you in advance (: more

So I bought a few songs and videos on the itunes on my ipod touch and when i plugged it into my computer it couldn't read my ipod because it was having issues so I had to reset it to original settings which means I lost everything.
