Open Question: How can I make Crysis run faster on my laptop?

Okay, just to set the record straight, I am horrible with computers, so please make the answers simple. I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop Model L305-S5891. All of it's information can be found here: http://laptops.toshiba.com/laptops/satellite/L300/L305-S5891 Every time I start to play Crysis, everything runs at normal speed in the menu. The Power Struggle Tutorial also runs steadily. But, whenever I play the actual game, the frame rate is so slow, it looks more like a flipbook going 1 frame a seconds and skipping practically every fifth frame. It's getting very annoying. Can someone please help?I forgot to mention that the quality settings are already on the lowest possible level. It still runs like a slideshow. more

Open Question: How to make my laptop PC run faster?

I have a current HP laptop and it runs at a slow pace. When i start it up it usually takes about 7-10 minutes to reach the full wi( not the log in). Also, my games run at a 40 frame rate pace due to my integrated graphics card ( Intel GMA x3100). However, I have fiber obtics and my frame rate won't improve. I have about 20 percent left on my hard drive and I don't know what to do. Ive tried everything. I might go out and get a imac desktop...any suggestions more

Thanks in advance. I have a powerful Toshiba laptop with 3gig ram 2.1ghz processor which is almost a year old and I am running vista. Just recently all video that is played on my laptop is lagging/low frame rate and skipping frames, while the audio goes smoothly. This happens on youtube, quicktime, i tunes, video editing software and more. (my internet is very speedy ninja) My CPU usage seems to always be going above 50 even when i am doing nothing at all. Open Question: Need a little help on chosing a laptop?

Hey, I have been searching around for a good laptop that can play games on high, or at least medium with frame rates of about 20-50 fps. Now there is a good deal of oh its this and that so it wont work. However i've got a Home pc with a 7600GT with 2GB or DDR2RAM and a 3.8Ghz single processor and am able to play most modern games on high with little lag, and when it comes to the more hefty games turning it down to a medium fixes almost all frame rate issues. So point is, i want to get a laptop as mentioned above but im not sure about Graphics cards, i heard that the ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 4570 was in fact inferior to the ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3650 for example, and also what about the ATi Mobile Radeon HD4650 512MB Video performance, these are all different cards i've found in similarly priced laptops, and to e they seem to range vastly. So could anyone here please recommend me one of the graphics cards or give me a few tips. I know a lot about hardware, however i've never really looked into laptops and im hoping for a more concise answer here than looking all over the web. Thank you for your answers! more

Open Question: Laptop completely crashes and restarts when playing games?

My laptop works completely fine until I get to random points in games. The laptop will just crash, completely turn off, with no error message. It will then automatically restart as if I have shut it down normally, with no error message displayed upon log-on, apart from something about SQL servers, which have appeared ever since I manually uninstalled MS Office 2007. On my flight Simulator (ms 2004), it will do this whenever I open a flight, and switch to an external view. On another game it will crash whenever I open the options menu. I have tried updating the drivers, but I have absolutely no idea what is wrong with it, it has never done it before. Anybody know the cause / solution of this extremely annoying big? Open Question: Connecting my CPU to a old F24566 RCA TV?

Im trying to setup a home theater computer, so I have this old F24566 RCA TV I want to use. It has S-Video Inputs, and Yellowjack Inputs. I have another old computer, that is made for home theater. It has RCA Inputs, not outputs. But has a VGA output, that I want to hook up to a simple VGA to YellowJack, and S-Video [http://www.computercableinc.com/ccinc/images/ADAPTER-VGA-to-SVideo-to-RCA-Cyberguys-131-0615.jpg] and connect to my TV. Its just when I try to it doesnt. I tried hooking it up to my laptop, and got the defaults on the TV. 1600x1200, and 85 refresh rate. I set it to that on my laptop (that has TV Out through VGA) but it doesnt come up on the TV Screen. I have a very low frame-rate while playing ArmA: Armed Assault. I know it is a big and demanding game but i thought my laptop (purchased early this year) could handle it on at least the lowest settings but the frame-rate is still quite bad. Well I'm subscribed with high-speed internet from "time warner cable" and i never had the buffering problem with the videos on youtube or any other site, it buffers and plays on the shortest videos also! My internet connection speed is: Download Speed: 1458 kbps (182.3 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 371 kbps (46.4 KB/sec transfer rate) and im using a laptop, i don't think its the computer because i have it clean, with no viruses and i do a McAfee quick clean everyday. Open Question: Cant get computer to TV connection to show, on F26645 RCA?

Ok, the TV's old but I think I can still do it. Its working for all my other devices. But ive got a emachines d620 laptop that has a VGA output, and can hookup to TV's with a VGA to s-video and yellow RCA converter. Its just on this TV i dont know how to hook it up. On the back is a S-video and yellowvideo inputs that I plug in the converter's cables. But when I get to my ATI Catalyst Control Center on XP, and hook it up to the right settings 1600x1200 it doesnt come on. I dont know the refresh rate, but I think thats important as well. Anyone got any ideas? Also, I already know about the menu thing where you switch S-Video and YellowRCA there, I know how to switch the two. Open Question: something has happened with my computer! what does this sound like to you?

For two years I have used photoshop cs3 and fireworks cs3 on my laptop with no problems at all. I have 2GB of RAM and the task manager is usually at 45-50% memory. Anyway in the last week for some reason whenever I open fireworks or photoshop they just display the hand cursor which apparently means ( after researching it) that I don't have enough memory. How can this be? I have used these programs for two years with no problems. Also the task manager says I have 2037 in physical memory with 1415 Cached and 0 free where is the missing 500mb RAM. I don't have a great graphics card so I know its not there. It seems like a lot of missing ram and it doesn't seem to tally with the physical memory percentage rating in the bottom corner of the task manager with says 50%. Does this sound like a virus or some other kind of malicious software? I do watch a lot of tv online and some of the sites I visit look a bit dodgy and they tend to throw up a lot of ads. more

I DON'T want any of the "try canyourunit stuff" Okay, I have been pretty iffy on weather I should get the sims 3 or not because I am not sure if it will run on my laptop. I recently found a checker on EA's website which I used and it scanned my laptop telling me that "Your computer exceeds the minimum specifications required to run The Sims 3". So I passed. But I need to double check because I don't want to spend 50 bucks on a useless disk. About 1 month ago I went on justsouthpark.com for the first time and as soon as I got onto the homepage, Norton said my computer was under attack. So i closed the browser down and ran a Norton 360 and Windows Defender full system scan. They both said my computer had no risks detected. ( only low-rate tracking cookies ) which are always appearing beacause of bebo and possibly other stuff.) The next day I went on and it was fine then my laptop just suddenly said that it was filled with trojan horses on the drives and stuff. So i shut the laptop down. Then ran scans and ever since it has been fine. The only suspicious behaviour is when its scanning on Norton and it says the name of the file its scanning there are names such as 'hacking.tool' and others. Also bebo signs me off automatically at times. I think other websites do this too. Is my computer under attack?? Thanks alot to whoever helps!! more

I have a laptop which I clone the display onto a Philips 42PFL7403 HDTV via a VGA cable. The TV's operating manual tells me that it supports 1280x768 at 60Hz. I set that resolution and refresh rate on my computer and connect the VGA cable to the TV. But the resulting clone on the TV becomes fuzzy on vertical pixels. Why?
