Open Question: i cant print boarding pass from hotel? QANTAS domestic traveler. MELBOURNE?

Im going to stay at quay west suites melbounre hotel. My question is that well ill have my own laptop with me and i want to check in at qantas website to head back home back to brisbane., But the big problem is i wont have a printer and it would be silly and pointless to take my printer with me just to print the boarding passes.. 3 boarding pass has to be printed 24hours before back to the airport, I need to print the boarding pass as i will then check in online to choose my alocated seats and know where the 3 of us will be seated on the plane. Know im scared to go to a internet cafe and check in online at qantas website and then make them print the 3 boarding pass tickets... I could do this. But since i have a laptop i will do it from my hotel room with my laptop since it will feel more safer. But the big problem is no printer. So what can i do? People say go downstairs to the reception hotel and ask them nicely to print it for you for free... I could do this but the big problem is.. they will know my log in passwords and also they will know everything.. They would not no where exactly i want to be seated on the plane and normaly back home here i just refresh the page site to see if there will be any change from ather peoples seats..... as im quite picky on where i want to be seated on the plane. So it would be pointless to go downstairs hotel and make her refresh the site and log back in a few times to hope to fine the best seat i want. But i dont no... Any options and tips please ? How about with my laptop i log in to qantas choose the 3 seats we want to be seated on the plane... then ones thats done i log off and go straight to a internet cafe and log in to qantas website and instaly press PRINT. and no need to go thru all that step by step page by page as i have allready loged in the seats we want to seat earlier. Hi i previewsly ask for something similar. My apoligies but i cant acces that account and so i will re-enter anyone with full gredited ratings who ever answers the best question** QUESTION: QANTAS domestic from BNE to MELB for a weekend holiday lets you carry free upto 7kilos on a carry on bag, Luggage which are these big suitecase can not be more then 20kilos This is what i remember back last year. How about VIRGIN BLUE ? Just economic traveler nothing to do with business class or such as i wont pay that much for business just because i want to carry lots more kilos. I will be taking a laptop bag the laptop bag is aprox 20sizes from the side because the LAPTOP is 18.4 sizes screen. When i hold the bag it feels heavy and whats in the bag is just the mouse and the laptop and allready feels heavy. I think it feels just about 7kilos But the problem is that the bag would look empty with just a mouse/laptop and thats it. I want to add things like papers pens... perhaps magazines and 3 disk and charger.. total would be probly about 8 and a half kilos to about 9kilos unfortunaly. Qantas says you can not carry more then 7kilos or they will make you take things out of the bag. Also im going to carry on my arm a thick winter goated jacket. There will be myself my mother and father each one will carry a winter jacket on the side of them. each one will also carry a carry on bag so for them both they wont be carrying more then 7kilos.. But i will because the laptop is heavy and the whiole bag feels heavy with the laptop.... I will also carry a video small camcorder on the side of my hand maybe a little tiny camcorder bag. This means i will caryr a laptop bag which will be like 9kilos heavy... a thick jacket on my arm and a small camcorder bag that wont be more then kist 2 or 3 kilos. So could i bring all this ? will they charge me? how much... what might happen? I dont want to end up going around in circles and realise i have to take things out of the bag and improtantly i wotn dare put my 18.4 sizes laptop in my large luggage because it could break by the cargos. Okies so i want to travel to melbourne city on a plane from brisbane Im worried that my laptop bag since it is a 18.4 sizes screen you would imagine how big the bag is and also the bag feels heavy i think about 8kilos and if i shove in the cables and ather things it will be aprox 9kilos.. this is a carry on bag. So which airline Qantas or Virginblue would let me carry this with me on board ? more then 7kilos on a carry on bag would be nice because the laptop is big and is heavy. It would be pointless to have a laptop in the bag and nothing els in the bag. I will be taking my luggage which of course the airline will take that away for me to the cargo. Resolved Question: Can't Decide On a Laptop, Can You Help Me?

I have been shopping around for a laptop for about a week now and I just can not decide on one. I have been out of the loop on computers for a few years now, and as anyone who knows computers, knows that is a long time to be out of the loop. So much has happened since. I have done some extensive research, but still can not decide. What I will be using the laptop for: Desktop replacement (won't be hard considering I'm running a 5 year old P4...) Video Games (nothing graphics heavy, but I don't want to wait 3 years from now for a new game to release and I can't play it smoothly - most games include MMORPGs and StarCraft 2) Adobe Applications - Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc for web and graphics design Those are mainly what I will use it for, however, it will be a long time before I can replace this, so it needs to not be uber obsolete in 3 years. So I'm planning to over-do it a little. Specs that I can't decide on: I REALLY want the Intel Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz, but what about the i5? How do they compare to the Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz? I do know that i7 > 2 Duo, but what about i5? Multitasking with Adobe is a pain, so the more Level 2 cache I can have (6MB vs 3MB) the better. RAM: 4GB bare minimum, but is it really necessary to have 6GB? I'm not worried about the HDD size. I haven't really used up my 500GB yet, hell, haven't even used half of that. So a 320GB will be more than enough... Video Card: A real confusion with me... Personally, I'm a fan of ATI Radeon's, but I just want something that will be capable of running games 3 years from now... ATI Radeon Mobility 4670? NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M? 310M? Should I grab a 1GB version or will 512MB be sufficient? I know it may seem like I've already answered my questions, but then I throw the sexy MacBook Pro in there and I start all over... MacBook Pro's are only running the Core 2 Duo 2.53ghz with silly OLD video cards. Starting at 2GB of memory forces me to dish out more money for a 4GB version. But I LOVE how slim they are (0.95"), simple, lightweight, and very sexy chasis design... (it's hard to want anything else). Not to mention the viewing angle on the screen is almost 180 degrees... On some (like the Dell I saw at Best Buy last night was only about 45 degrees). I'm even playing with the idea of getting a Blu-Ray put into it, but that isn't a priority. Windows 7 PRO is a must... I've priced out some nice ones on HP, Sony, and Dell, but from what I hear Sony has a high defect rate on their fans which tend to be ridiculously loud after a short amount of time. Am I throwing too much money into getting the 1gb vid card over the 512mb? Or the i7 over the core 2 duo? Sorry, I'm frustrated and having a difficult time finding A laptop that has what I want all under one chasis (you'd think that'd be easy, but typically it has one thing and leaves one thing out...) I'm not a PC or Apple fan. I'm familiar with both and love both for different reasons... But I wanted to give Windows 7 a try after hearing it's Windows most stable OS to date. (My favorite was Windows 2000 which never crashed, but was definitely not gamer friendly). I also don't want a behemoth of a laptop so I am only wanting one that is 15" or less, slimmer the better, lighter the better. :) I know I'm difficult, I just wish I could BUILD my own! Which brand lasts longer? Which is more reliable and has fewer problems? Which is better to use for school? I was leaning towards getting the Toshiba. I asked a similar question on here yesterday, got 3 answers and all people said go with the toshiba. I was reading some of the reviews of best buy for the toshiba, some were saying that toshiba has horrible customer service. I guess it depends on where you live. But regardless, both the toshiba and hp that I was looking at has a few bad reviews but most reviews are good with at least a 90% customer rating. There was another hp I was looking at that is only $599 with 17 out of 18 people recommending the laptop with a 94% customer rating, whilch btw was a 100% rating yesterday but got 3 more reviews since then. The only bad thing is shipping is not available and not available at the best buy closest to me. The other hp and toshiba are both $649 and are both available for shipping and are in my best buy. Ive asked a few questions about buying a laptop before and now i am 5 months away from going to college in 6 months and i need a laptop now. I have about 800 saved up and my main amount i am willing to spend is about 1500. Im going to be a game developer and i need a powerful laptop for the job. I make 3d games in my spare time using blender and most of my games are in linux. I kinda like windows but with vista it was a real problem but i like win7 and its great. I was thinking alienware since the price dropped down to my price range of $1400 on the dell sight for the base. I can always add more ram and its graphics card is great for what i want to do. I also looked at lenovo and they have something at $1200 that has a amazing graphics card with a gig of ddr3 gaming ram. My friend is a apple fanatic and says i need a mac but im skeptical. I went the the apple web sight and the only computer that closes fits my needs is the macbook pro 13" maxed out at $1500. I never really felt macs were better and i used em all my life in my graphics class plus im a full on gamer obviously so it would not be a good match unless i install windows. this mac had only a 9300m gpu in it which seems low for what i need and it was expensive. Someone told me i don't need that much power and i should get it above all other pcs, so i went to the apple store and looked at the 13" macbookpro i ask if i could render some of my games in the computer the apple genius said ok so i plugged in my flash drive ran blender and tried to get one of my best games to work but it wouldn't run. It said i needed a better graphics card. So i went a step up to the 15" with a 256gb gpu 9300gt and it did ok but it was $600 over budget. the frame rate was low but it worked about 30fps but i need a faster speed to work in. Then i went to the genius's sugestion of the macbookpro "17 and i loved it, it did everything i wanted and it was fast but with price tag of $2400 there was no way i could afford it even with dev connection reduction. The alienware did the same job at $1400 which was odd for me but i like the apple computer for its looks but so far thats what it looks like im getting the alienware but i want to know about your opinions on what should i get maybe a different brand.almost forgot to say that im really under my head with college debt so loans and credit cards are out of the question. more

I have a Canon - EOS Digital Rebel T1i 15.1-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera (LINK) with an SD HD memory card and have done some filming with the camera. I have Windows Vista on my laptop but XP on my desktop. Whenever I put the memory card in with Vista, it opens a list of programs and I select the "Windows Media Player" option and the little blue bar at the bottom goes all the way across the screen but the picture I see moves at a super slow rate. When I open them with Quick Time it gets a little better but it still sticks. When I open it with Windows Media CENTER then the picture plays PERFECTLY, but the sound is completely gone! When I use the XP computer, then it has the same trouble. Is there something I can buy/download that will help read HD faster? Is there anything I can buy/download to fix this problem??? I do not want to go buy a Mac becuase I have limited funds, but Windows 7 is optional, but I don't know if it plays HD or not...someone PLEASE HELP ME! Resolved Question: Which company should I buy my next laptop from?

I currently own a Dell laptop which I purchased in 2007 for about $1,800. Today it crashed and I can not turn it on. When I turn it on it goes straight o "System Restore Options" and from there nothing works, not even the "Restore to Dell Factory Image". At any rate, I called Dell for help and they won't speak to me unless I pay them $250 which I think is absolutely ridiculous (also they don't speak English). I am fed up with Dell and have had enough as this is the 2nd laptop I've had from them that crashed. I took it to the local PC repair store but in the event it's too expensive to fix, which company should I buy my next computer from? Who has the best customer service and the best product? Also if anyone has any idea what the problem may be with my computer please share your thoughts...Spoke to the guy at the PC store today...he said Dell's are shit and that the majority of their business comes from broken Dell computers....I will never buy a Dell ever again more

First, heres the laptop I'm looking at: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4951842&CatId=4942 Heres what I want out of my laptop: 1) Able to do at least some multitasking (play a game while watching a movie while listening to music while typing a term paper, for example) 2) Able to do some gaming - I mostly play emulated PSX games and low system requirement strategy games, but I'd also like to be able to use at least some newer games. The very latest ultra mega graphics-intensive game isn't that important, but Spore or Elder Scrolls IV on high settings would be nice 3) good quality parts - I don't really need the best, but I don't want cheap entry level consumer parts either 4) high reliability - I'll be using it for work and school and a LOT of personal use (typing and movies), so I want it to be able to stand up to higher pressure than a typical computer user would do. 5) quality of customer service doesn't matter 6) I want it to just be a generally all-around good computer that won't need replacing for a year or two now, how does the laptop in the link above rate against the criteria I gave? I'm unfamiliar with the brand. Does it have a good reputation? in a few words, what would you call this laptop (high end gaming, low end gaming, higher entry level, mid level consumer, etc)? and how good is it for the cost? I'm looking at a budget of around 1500-2000 dollars, and this seems to be the best bang for the buck that I've found. I'll make sure to give a Best Answer here too, so answer well please! Hi, I'm looking to buy a laptop...don't want to get one that breaks/dies in less than a year. I bought a little EEEpc, one of those mini laptops with only like a 10 inch screen. Just when I got used to using the ittybitty keyboard, the keyboard decides to break/go completely bonkers. Now I have to plug in an external keyboard to it, which is a pain in the but to carry around and use the laptop. I was looking at Best Buy and saw some good prices ($600-800); here's what I'm wondering: I'm considering a Dell Studio or Inspirion; I've heard mixed reviews about them. I've heard that HP's have a high rate of drive failures. I've heard Asus is good, but you have to pick the right one. I haven't heard anything about Toshibas. I've heard good things about Sony Vaios, but I know they're more pricey...opinion?? I need GOOD battery life...like at LEAST 4 hours. I will be using it for writing a LOT in Word; internet; I want to use other MS office programs (excel, outlook, powerpoint), as well as Adobe products (photoshop, indesign, illustrator, premier, and after effects). I'll also be using it to manage my blog (I will have download an application called WordPress, so that's another program that will be on the laptop). I need to spend LESS than a $1000 (like, it can't go over $1000 with tax and extended service agreement). I'd prefer to spend less (like $700-800, but I also don't want some cheapy laptop). I'm looking to get a 15" screen...17" would be cool, but not necessary. Any advice, suggestions would be so appreciated. Thanks! K more
