Open Question: advent 7108 CPU upgrade wont post?

Ok I have a Advent 7108 laptop I have updated the CPU to a intell core 2 duo 1.83GHZ T5600 CPU. However when powered on it does nothing it wont even post to the bios. I am curently waiting on the 667MHZ ram to come so am wondering first of all does the CPU and RAM have to work on the same frequency for a post. Secondly there is a 6 swich dip on the motherboard does anyone know if this needs adjusting and if so what would bethe switch configuration. Laptop is a clone of the ECS G335 acording to the G335 user manula I have chosen my CPU acording to the listed specsebox1349 I am alredy running the latest firmware avaliable from the ECS website more

what processors does a advent 7108 laptop support, and what Socket is it. I cant find the information anywhere I have even downloaded the user manual for the ECS G335 which the advent is a clone of but even that don't say.Bassman1 I didnt ask what a prossesor is I know that I have been building computers since 1995 and a prossesor is not built into or part of the main board the soket is the proccesor can be changed out. my question is what prosesors does that mainboard in that laptop take. more

I have an ECS Model 536's laptop that has trouble starting up. When power button is pushed, lights light,CD spins up, HD spins but no display. I have tried to hook it up to an external monitor but still doesn't seem to work. Can someone please help me? more

Resolved Question: No video signal with new computer?

I just put together a new computer system, plugged it in, and started it up. The fans and hard drive spin just fine, the power LED flashes, and there's no video signal at all. I know the monitor works because I've tested it with my laptop. Also, if I hold down the power button when it's on, the power does *not* turn off. I'm using a MSI N260GTX Twin Frozr OC video card. and im also using a dvi to vga converter that came with the video card. Voting Question: when using my laptop every minute or so it seems like the tab key is being held down and it wont stop?

Resolved Question: Vista 64bit Running Really Really Slow?

Ok guys i no people ask questions like this all the time but i need some answers. My Computer Specs are: I7 920 @2.67 ghz 6GB of DDR-3 Asus P6T Motherboard ECS 9800GTX+ 1GB Graphics So yeah my machine isnt some laptop that has no ram or anything but for some reason ( and it has only just started happening really) my computer is running really really slow . I will be on the desktop and for instance click and icon on the desktop and it will take a while to respond. I have ran memory diagnostic and other programs such as AVG full computer scan and so on but i havent found anything to be the problem. So if anyone has any ideas please help. P.S Sorry for the huge Question :)Just Thought id add that i have just installed Service pack 2 and it hasnt made any difference. Resolved Question: How to adjust the settings of a built in camera of a laptop?

See, my laptop has a built in camera and whenever we use it, the color is black and white.. not really black and white but really dark. Example: Whenever we turn on our webcam in Yahoo! Messenger, we see ourselves right? And whenever I look at myself, the color is black and white... or just dark. I can adjust my settings through Skype or Y!M but whenever I adjust the brightness, contrast or such, the picture is still dark and sometimes, black and white. Color example: Normally Pink. But when webcam is used, it will be 'dark pink' or sometimes pink. So I would like to know if there is any way I can adjust the setting of this built in camera. Resolved Question: My proccesor might be under performing.?

Today I finished building my PC. Everything thing seems to work fine work fine but when I go to computer properties it says my proccesor is 800 MHz when it is actually 3.2 GHz. I have not done any demanding task so I do not know how well everything is performing. I than looked at my base score. My lowest score was a 4.7(processor score) and all my other scores were 5.9. I have a 1.666 dual core laptop that has a processor score of 4.7 so why does my quad core Phenom 3.2 GHz have this score as well. Voting Question: what is happening in my Elitegroup ECS G320 laptop?

With the DC adaptor plugged in, and the green "plugged in" indicator lit, I press the power on button. The "plugged in" indicator light goes off, and nothing else happens. If I unplug the adaptor and plug it back in, the green light goes on again, but it still won't power on. No lights and nothing will power up with just the battery, either. I have a spare battery and have switched batteries and the same thing (doesn't) happen. Is my laptop dead, or could it possibly be some bad contacts with the switches, caused by dust or something? more

Hi. I have an issue with my nephew’s laptop (which he lent me for the reason that my PC’s dying). Here’s the situation: The laptop’s model is ECS TRANSMETA CRUSOE. It has lan, infrared, cd-rom. System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2 Then it says: Powered by AMIT Transmeta Crusoe Processor TM5600 532 Mhz, 496 MB of RAM Then there’s a logo which says: Manufactured and supported by: Windows XP Service Pack 3 by AMIT I know the specs are uncompetitive, but that doesn’t bug me as I intend to purchase a high end laptop soon. Okay, here it is. 1) With XP SP 3, it takes time to boot unlike with my dying PC, which only has SP 2. 2) Then there’s this one word document that I couldn’t open with the laptop, but when I tried opening it with my PC, it opened. 3) Also, when I was able to install a game, it was very, very slow that I ended up uninstalling it. 4) I also successfully installed another game, but it would not allow me to open. 5) Then when I open a webpage which I saved from my thumb drive, it would not open as is. Normally I can open it ‘offline’ with my PC. But with the laptop, I can’t. what I see are codes and just plain texts in a distorted manner. Please tell me what could be the problem. I thought it has something to do with the SP 3. I tried removing it, but the self-help guides I found did not help me at all. I couldn’t find it in the add-remove programs as the guide says. Then someone told me I have to reformat it. But I don’t have any driver or restore disc to back it up. I was also thinking it could be the specs. But my cousin’s PC has lower specs than my laptop, yet I also tried comparing the performance of his PC and my laptop, and his PC was performing better than mine. I installed Homeworld 2 on my laptop, but it was laggy, so i installed it on my desktop, which is far superior. When it first loads, the menu screen is not rendered correctly, and the mouse icon does not display correctly. I tried going to Sierra/Vivendi, but thier customer support for the game was close to nil. Anyway, below is a screenshot of the error, and my system specs. Any help would be greatly apreciated. P.S. my keyboard is built in into my laptop and t, y, g, h, the key next to 0 on the right and the tab key. ive removed a key and tried to work out what is wrong but i don't know what's wrong and even pressing the rubber part doesnt work, nor does the chipset under it. Resolved Question: my ecs(elitegroup) laptop doesnt charge the battery?

battery is new,light shows its there but windows shows no battery in the power options,i replaced the power jack plug-in(it broke off) could in be in that? more
