I have a Fujitsu siemens laptop and i recorded videos from my phone and transferred them to my laptop and it wont let me play i have tried VLC media player and windows media player and VLC media player says: No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format "samr". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this. Windows media player says : Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. Open Question: Help needed with fujitsu Siemens Laptop?

As i needed to turn my laptop on safe mode by pressing F8 it kept going to the blue screen of death and then only allowing me to restart in normal windows xp mode. So i Started normally and went to start -> Run -> msconfig and selected the boot in safe mode. now i switch my laptop on and same thing happens so i select normal windows mode and still the blue screen of death is coming up because i have the boot in safe mode still. Now i don't mind factory resetting my laptop but i have no cd or recovery disk. I know i can select to boot from my External hardrive but i just need my laptop to work if any one can help me this would be very much appreciated, thank you.Even when i go to Last know configuration settings it still goes to blue screen of death :( more

All i want is something with a good 17" screen to watch movies on. Ive been looking at the dell inspiron 17. which i can get at £329 and then personalize it with the processor and hard drive that i want. but for a couple of weeks of looking for laptops ive seen loads of different reviews on loads of laptops. i was going to get an asus. but heard a few things about it and now im not so sure. Ive heard that apple macs are the best, but i dont have quite enough money for them!. I have up to about £550. i dont really game. but might play Mafia a few times. I really need some help or any links you have which you think are good. or tell me what laptop you have and how reliable it is?. I have been looking at HP to. which i think are good. but there are so many good and bad i just dont know. at the moment i have a fujitsu siemens. have had it for about 3/4 years. its been really good. its only a 2gb, 160 hd. but i would now like something with at least 3gb and 250 hd. i have a fujitsu siemens amilo pa 2548 laptop that has been upgraded from vista home premium to windows 7, i checked on fujitsu site and this laptop is not compatible with windows 7. Voting Question: I have a problem with my system sound !?

I am using Xp professional Sp2 on a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop. Suddenly, I lost the sound. I re-installed the Realtek driver but still get no sound. On the Control Panel "sound and audio properties" I get "No Playback Device". I can only get sound from the system using"dxdiag" which indicates an error with the Microsoft Sythesizer but plays sound with the other two option. This is telling me that it is not a hardware problem. Can any one advice on what to do. Thanks more

I have had this laptop for two years now but a few months I got it, it started to refuse to start correctly, when I Compaq packed up completely a few weeks ago I looked at the fujitsu again and have been trying to wort it out ever since. If anyone has got one of these maybe they can tell me how they installed their operatint system if they ever replaced or upgraded theirs. The Problem seems to be it heating up when I try to install any operating system. "not just XP" Hints please as it would really help me if I could use it! I am now wondering if there would have been a disc with it when it was new that would have had something on it that would allow an operating system to be installed! Anyone knows please tell me. i downloaded the driver which gave me 3 files: ar5211.sys net5211.cat net5211.inf there is no setup file, i have downloaded all the other files from the fujitsu website and they have had setup files. how can i get this driver to load?? i have tried moving it to the system 32 drivers folder, nothing. tried loads of things but i can't get it working and i have no wireless option on my laptop. the wireless card on this machine is WN6301A minicard WLAN IEEE802.11 b/g any help would be much appreciated more

Voting Question: PLEASE HELP...I have just purchased a new SATA hard drive for my lappy as my original one was damaged...?

I have put the new drive in the laptop, however, when I run windows xp setup, it copies the setup files and reboots as it should BUT...when it reboots all I get is a black screen which says the following: "windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\system32\c_1252.nls". I have tried 2 different setup cds thinking maybe one could be damaged but they are both giving the same issue's. Where am I going wrong? Laptop is a Fujitsu Siemens Amillo Pro YK7E060047. Hey all, I was hoping somebody could help me out here. I have a fujitsu siemens amilo li 1718 running windows xp and I'm having issues with my screen back light turning off. The screen will be on for the first few minutes I turn my computer on but then shuts off randomly. If I tilt the screen and put a light on it I can still make out the desktop. An external monitor also works perfectly with my computer. i have a Fujitsu Siemens Amillo laptop ive not been on it in about a week and ive just turned it on and it comes up with a screen saying some data has been corrupted or something. and gives me the options to 'launch windows start up repair' or 'start windows normally' i tried to start windows normally, but it just closes straight back down again, so i click start up repair, which usually just comes up with an egg timer, stays for about 5 minutes, then restarts fixed. but this time it comes up with Siemes Recovery and now i have the option to; "Backup factory default setting-burn factory settings to DVD(recommended)" or "restore factory default settings - personal data will be lost!" i cant pick the first one, since my disk drive doesnt work (i tried anyway and it just said "illegal system") so my only option is to restore factory settings is it? and loose all my data? please advise me!! more

Resolved Question: My Microphone Port is broken?!?

I use my microphone a lot, and my laptop (Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li1718 - Uses Windows Vista) is approaching 2 years old and is sort of falling apart. I think with all the plugging in and out of my microphone and just general ware and tare my microphone port has become damaged and It can't be used.My speaker (headphone) port however, is working fine. Is there any way I can change my speaker port to be my microphone port so I can continue to use my microphone daily? Alternatively is there any EASY way I can maybe try and fix the port myself. I am reasonably good with laptops and computers when it comes to software, but definitely no expert in components etc, so please bare that in mind! If there is no solution, I may have to take my laptop to the laptop shop and try get it fixed. Any help appreciated, thanks. more

My laptop (a fujitsu siemens from who knows how many years ago) is getting old and going completely bizarre. Nearly every time I write (for some reason not now) I keep getting loads of apostrophes everywhere between the letters. It is starting to really piss me off because writing essays etc is sometimes nearly impossible without using an hour afterwards to delete all the little dots. i have just installed windows7 professional in fujitsu-siemens ESPRIMO MOBILE V5515 notebook. After installation it played any video format in any player for 8-9 hours but when i tried to play a dwld video( from torrent) it suddenly shutsdown but no problem with audio (mp3). fujitsu-siemens says this notebook is incompatible for windows7.896 MB RAM only.
