Open Question: Facebook was disabled after my account was hacked again never had a responce can i sue for customer neglagence?

I have had my account hacked several times. I had to re-so my account and I now change my password weekly. I have run several virus scans and run all of my laptops updates to ensure up to date protection. My complaint is that now my account has been disabled for violation of terms of use.... OK, I have again wrote to facebook, asking them to re-activate the account. I have never had a reply after trying several email addresses and being extremely polite. I am now contemplating taking this further, as I believe a giant organization such as facebook has no standered customer complaints procedures., After research on the internet, it appears that there are hundreds of people who have tried to get in contact with facebook, and in some cases it takes 60+ for a complaint to be dealt with ot not at all. This is ludicrous for a company that can boast the highest member rate of any social NETWORKING sight. Open Question: how can i speed up my laptop? (fairly new laptop)?

Okay with my Christmas money i bought this cheap laptop from the black friday sales i got a hold of this terrific laptop for the price of 400$ the specs are 2.2GHz 3Gb RAM Windows 7 home premium 64 bit 160GB hard drive (might upgrade later to 1 T or 500) with a windows rating of 3.4 (windows desktop areo being the lowest) how can i speed this laptop up? i seem to feel that its not giving me all the power it has to offer? ive defraged i did MSconfig and made nothing startup at login ran a AVG anti virus scan no bloatware left on it i dont know what els to do? could it be like windows 7 is just to memory hogging? would a downgrade to vista or XP fix this? i really dont know what els to do? Open Question: Rate my laptop please?

My laptops not that new. Little less than 2yrs old. I mostly use it for gaming and school work. Although it does play most games im wondering if its time for an upgrade or not. Here are the specs. Its an HP pavilion dv5-1002nr Processor: AMD Turion x2 Dual core 2ghz OS:Windows 7 -32 bit & ocassionally Linux ubuntu Installed RAM 3GB -512MB for gaming Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 3200 Now It runs modern warfare 2 but i have to turn down alot of specs to run it smoothly. Its not that bad but not that great either. What do you think any advise is welcome. ThanksYeah more ram probably would help. Hope thats not to expensive. I just put a new 500GD hard drive in if that helps. more

Open Question: 1: System Restore Error 0x80042318 2: Windows Media Player 11 Will not open 3: Internet Explorer 8 Freezes?

I have these three program Issues after Reinstallation of Windows Vista and attempted (mostly unsuccessful) use of Windows Easy Transfer to move and reinstall my programs and files. My computer was having some startup issues before, (it would almost always give me the blue screen at startup and go into the startup repair). The Startup repair would not fix anything and just waste about 20 minutes of my time. Eventually it would not even load at all and startup repair wasn't helping so I finally decided to reinstall Windows Vista. This worked perfectly until I stupidly decided to try and use Windows easy transfer to hopefully "move" my programs over to this new copy of Windows Vista. So now my issues are: Windows Media Player 11 will not open at all. I can not see thumbnails of videos that would open with Windows Vista either. Oddly enough though I can use Windows Media Center just fine. I also have the Quicktime player installed and these seem to work just fine. This hasn't been disastrous but mainly an annoyance. I've been using VLC player to handle most of my videos just fine, but liked using WMP before. Secondly: I cannot create any restore points at all. Any time I try I get this error message: "The restore point could not be created for the following reason: An error was detected in the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS). The problem occurred while trying to contact VSS writers. Please verify that the Event System service and the VSS service are running and check for associated errors in the event logs. (Ox80042318) Please try again." Lastly, for some reason after the transfer, possibly after Internet Explorer automatically updated it will completely freeze when I open it. It gives me the prompt to open the previously crashed session, and if I attempt that or close the dialog box to just open the home page, it will completely freeze, even the blue loading circle beside the tab name. Thankfully I have Firefox and Google Chrome installed, both work just fine. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm not entirely fretting over IE8 and WMP 11 but I would really feel less stressed if I know that I have a System Restore Point in case my previous issues start to happen again. Here's my system specs, in case that is in any way helpful. Resolved Question: My mechanic and i have a disagreement over "Preventative Maintenance," What are your thoughts on this subject?

I wll explain: My Mechanic basicallly says "if it aint broke, dont fix it." This applies, for him, to EVERYTHING. Water Pump, Fuel Pump, etc.. He says "Wait for it to develop a Problem, and if you have the money to do a test, replace the part, since you suspect it." (This is also the one that put 1/3 the old BROWN Trans fluid back in my NEW 82,000 Trans, now at 90,000 miles.. I will Drain anD fill that with NEW and no Flushing.) I believe that Preventative Maintenance is Good. Like now.. I suspect Fuel Pump, though i will try the Gas first, then Filter (trying to eliminate Possibles.) It made me think of the Mechanic.. Basically, we have come to an arrangement,, if i have the money, and have the part, he will do whatever Job i ask for 1/3 to 1/2 the "Rate." I was thinking Fuel Filter.. I have No Idea how one diagnoses a Vacuum line OR uses a Scan Tool for OBD1.. Bt i know this arrangement is good. back last year, my 85 Escort had Engine trouble. The Head Gasket was rebuilt and i had NO Money.. so i installed MotorData Program and bought a little Laptop.. he cna now print Invoices, and every job he does now.. Exploded Diagrams, etc. And he knows the car, he put the "New: Trans in. Sooo... what are your thoughts on this "Preventative maintenance," sinc if it DOES come to Fuel Pump Dying (gas and Filter dont lick issue,) ill be taking it there, car still runs ok when warmed up like 15 or 20 minutes in, but the Stumbling on Acceleration DOES surface sometimes.. Open Question: How can i fix my display driver?

Hey guys. Iv been having a problem with my display driver. Any game i play that uses my graphics card (Flight Simulator 2004, Grand Theft Auto..) causes my screen to start flickering. Ill explain in better detail. On gameplay, small strikes of colour start flickering on the screen. As i play on more of these flickering strikes appear until eventually my screen goes black and reports the display driver had stopped working or something like that. I use to beable to run the game on fs2004 at around 20-30 frame rates on full settings. Now i can only achieve about 5 frame rates on the same settings. It all happend one day when i got the "Red screen of death". After restarting, the desktop was slightly different, the bottom nav bar of my screen had reverted to a simple version of windows vista. Hard to explain. So i upgraded my LAPTOP to Windows 7. Iv took it for repair to see what was wrong but the guy said their is nothing wrong with my graphics card or anything else that he can see in their. Iv tried installing the ATI catalyist program but it doesnt help. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A210-11P with an ATI 2600 portable graphics card. I also have an AMD Turion 64x2 processor. I am going to make my first backpacking adventure in SE Asia (I live in the Philippines). It is my solo trip with no companions. Now I am in need of assistance on where should I go. Here are my main objectives/goals in this trip: 1.) Buying a cheap gaming laptop - this is a must! I am comfortable with rates similar (but I prefer cheaper) to the rates in US. 2.) Visiting areas with high architectural value - I am an architect student and I highly appreciate Asian architectural designs. 3.) Staying with the least amount of budget - I want to make my trip as cheap as possible. I have a laptop and it would be easy to setup a webcam at my local driving range to record my swing for analysis at home, but what webcam to buy is the question. My concern is in finding one that will record at a high enough fps rate to provide reasonably good image quality when played back in slow motion. Voting Question: Keyboard/Mouse Responds in Safe Mode, not in Normal Mode?

Being a computer tech for a few years, this one still has me stumped. I suspect an IRQ issue, but no guarantee that I'm even on the right track. This weekend, the mouse and keyboard on this Windows XP Home system stopped responding while Windows is running. In "Normal Mode," I'm unable to enter a password. Sometimes, if I hold a key down long enough for typematic rate delay, I can get a key to respond here or there (nothing from the mouse). It's probably 1 in 100 presses of Caps Lock will change the caps status. [This is why I suspect IRQ - it's like the HID can't get a "word" in edgewise between something else.] In "Safe Mode," I have no problems. Bootstrap has no problems moving around in BIOS, and F8 responds just fine to trigger startup selection. So... we just bought a new computer, transfered the files via USB and Safe Mode, and I completely wiped the hard drive on this laptop. While reinstalling Windows (not a restore disc, actual Windows install disk), everything seemed to be going OK through the blue-screen segment of the install. Once graphical mode kicked in and it started asking for Regional and Language Options, again - no mouse or keyboard response. Any suggestions?@ Andrew Clements: Thanks for the response! No, these are not USB devices. They are the integrated touchpad and keyboard. I also just noticed that when this occurs, I'm unable to power off with the surface-mounted power button (even with a 4-second hold). I resorted to pulling the battery.@ Miagi: I did not do a recovery, I did a completely fresh reinstall. As stated, the blue screen portion of the install (setting up the hard drive partition and copying the installer files) worked perfectly fine. When the system entered into the graphical mode portion of the installer, I lost mouse and keyboard again. At this point there are no drivers installed... for anything. more

Resolved Question: I am eating around 1500 cal a day or less, but am losing 1lb a month?

I think I have a slow metabolism as I am always cold, but it shouldn't be this slow! I was tested last year for an under active thyroid for an un-related medical condition, the results were fine, so must be just a slow metabolism, but surely you would lose weight from eating 1300-1500 cal a day! On Jan 4th, I was 10:07. Now I am 10:02, but I think the first few pounds were water weight, as they were lost quickly. Since last month, I have lost just over 1lb. I am 5 '6 female and do not exercise. I know this would be a big help, but due to getting home after dark and needing to carry books/laptop etc to university (so rarely cycle), it would not be consistent enough. Anyway, I know that to keep alive by sleeping, your body needs about 1200-1300 calories to survive. I don't go below this, but try not to go above 1500 cal. I eat a lot less than I used to and have found healthier alternatives for comfort food. I am pleased with the little amount of weight I have lost so far, as I feel a SLIGHT difference, but I would like to lose at least 7lbs more by July time. (could be more, but at this rate, that won't happen!). I would appreciate any advice/encouragement. Thank you!Thanks, these answers are good so far. It started years ago, back when I was in High School. But it has been happening a little more frequently now that I am working out on a semi-regular basis. Yesterday was the most recent episode. I worked out doing cardio for 20min, getting my heart rate up to its target rate of 156. I did 5 min of cool down after the intial 20min, but my heart rate stayed elevated. I drank water before, during, and after to stay hydrated. I came home from the gym, started to use my laptop and noticed the aura. I laid down in a dark room and took a nap. I woke up with a light headache and minor pain around my eye, but the aura was gone. This doesn't happen every time I work out, just when it seems like I "push" myself too far... I purchased and installed Fallout 3 for PC on my Dell Inspiron 1545, but it stops working after I try to start a new game. I lowered the graphics as low as they would go, but it still wouldn't work. Voting Question: how do i install a keylogger on my laptop?

I picked elite keylogger 4.3 by widestep because it was the best rated on cnet. there is a free 7 day trial so i can try it out before i buy it. they don't give a tutorial. i am not so smart with computers. i'm waiting them to answer but i thought i couldn't wait and nobody really explains it online elsewhere. so, i clicked download and clicked save and my avira antivirus detected it so i was afraid to download it. and then i tried it again and just clicked 'run' and it still warned me about virus. am i supposed to allow it, or is it dangerous? also, if i save it, does anyone recommend where in my computer i sould save it to so it won't be found? and should i rename it? thanksCan someone just answer the qustion, if my computer detects the download as a virus, then how can it "be undetectable by most virusprotection" by another pc. is it still safe to download? Voting Question: I need help with driver issues. I have an HP zv5460us and updated to Vista and HP is telling me...?

they wont supply any drivers because the "laptop" was made to run on XP only. Which is ridiculous. I have downloaded XP drivers and almost everything works correctly. I downloaded the XP graphics card drivers. The graphics card in my laptop is the NVIDIA GeForce 4 440 Go. It looks good I can run at a high res etc. But when I do the Windows Experience Index it rates my Graphics at 1.9 and my Gaming Graphics at 1.0. I can not believe that that is correct it's a 64mb graphics card. All of my other ratings are around 5.0. My only assumption is that I don't have the correct graphics drivers installed. Does anyone know where I could get these? HP and NVIDIA will not supply them. Any ideas? more
