Im 14 and 15 in january. I have an older sister who is 16. When me and my mum have an arguement i think there quite bad but im not sure. Once we were having an argument and she actually said to me " F*ck off to a childrens home where they are treated badly." I actually ran into my room and i dunno wot i did because that was ages ago. She has told me i could leave home a couple of times in an angry voice cos she's got annoyed with me. If my sisters upset from her mates being mean or something happened eg. Her laptop broke they would try and sort it out. But if it was me and they might of got pissed off with me they would turn round and say tough shit. I get so pissed off when im 16 my mate said i could move in with them and become there family. Because even my school mates have turned round to me and said they notice my parents treating me in a worse way than my sister. What can i do.Ok.....this is what i do...if they scream at me i scream bk. if they swear at me i SOMTIMES swear bk. but if i didnt do anything wrong and my sister did and she blamed it on me id get told off and even if i did turn round and say i werent me id either need my sister or a friend or both to bk me up and actually say it was my sister but then my mum and dad probably wont even care. more

Resolved Question: trouble transferring pictures from my Nikon coolpix s210 to my computer?

in my house we have 3 com puters and on my childrens computer there able to download all of the pictures from my sons graduation to their computer. When i try to download the pictures i plug the camera into my computer and click on the Nikon transfer icon on my desktop on my children's computer it says that there are about 150 pictures in the queue. Can anyone tell me how to get pictures onto my computer? (I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it but the same thing happens) i am using windows xp and not a laptop more

Resolved Question: How can I transfer the contents of my iPod to another PC?

I have a 60GB ipod which is near enough filled......My laptop is playing up at the moment so I wanted to transfer the contents to the itunes on my childrens' PC. However, when I plug it in, it opens as a disc drive but only shows folders for photos and a couple of other things - it doesn't bring up any of my music at all!! The only tunes I could transfer were the ones I had purchased from iTunes store. Surely there must be some way to transfer my own albums across as I don't fancy sitting for days, importing them all again! Thaks in advance for your help. more

i am a beginner pianist. Actually, i just got a keyboard a couple of nights ago and i started playing old christmas carols from a book. but now its not christmas and i want to learn how to play the piano nicely. The music i was playing before was just the notes the singer was supposed to look at! I can read bass clef too. but not quite well. So my question is... are there any beginner piano songs that ARE NOT any nursery ryhmes or childrens songs. >:p and if there is.... is the music online where i can see it using my laptop instead of printing the music?i dont want like a book. i want it on my cmputer, accessable at all times ;) not to be picky or anything. but i dont like actual music books or papers. Resolved Question: Can i put a password on my childrens laptops to monitor internet use?

I got my three children a laptop each for Christmas and they can access the internet via my wireless router. Is it possible to put a password on each laptop to monitor the amount of time they spend online? i have the worst teacher ever.. she refuses to do her job.. she constantly loses work.. we do all of it on school laptops and we never get time to do it.. she gives us maybe 20 minutes max to do a 4 page essay.. she blames other people for kids getting bad grades.. she throws away work from students she doesnt like and keeps work from teachers pets.. i have experienced all of this.. i currently have an F in her class but every time i do something, she loses it, makes me do it again, and gives me half points.. we had one assignment were we had to do a childrens book and i did some horrible looking book with a really bad staple job.. but it had maybe 25 pages.. i got a 37 out of 40.. the girl next to me turned in this beautifully colered, well written, book with 12 pages.. she got a 27 out of 40.. my family has high connections within the school and i keep asking my parents to do something about it but they wont.. what should i do? more

Resolved Question: Have you ever met an infant/toddler that can play music?

My son is now 19 months old and when he was 3 months old we bought him a little kids keyboard. For the first 3-4 months he would just bang on it. When he was about 6 or 7 months we noticed he would push each individual key and put his ear to the speaker to hear it. By 8 months he was making little tunes or copying tunes he heard that his keyboard played. Since he was in my tummy, we always played new age/world music for him at night and it seems to always calm him. At 16 months, he starting humming tunes using the syllable "ba." He hums the "this old man, he played one, he payed Knick knack on his drum" song perfectly with the syllable "ba" all the time. Now because my son is 19 months old and not talking they think my son is autistic and he has certain other signs of autism too. My son also has this childrens laptop that shows him letters and letters pop up and you are supposed to press them and since about 17 months he has been able to get all the letters right without any help. I'm not sure if this is advanced for his age or not because all kids develop differently. Anyways that was all off topic. My actual question is if any of you knew of any programs that you could put a toddler in to help them with their musical gift? more

Resolved Question: Help!! 1/2 of my hard drive vanished after changes were made.?

Today a friend who is a computer guy was "making space" on my lap top for programs and or important to me files to live, outside of the C: drive. What he did was format the recovery partition and move my pictures and other important to me stuff over to it. We named it an odd name and then looked at it a couple times with the vista tools that were on my laptop. Both drives were there. The content was there. Then all of a sudden the screen went BLACK and the lights went out on the keyboard. A few min.s later it rebooted and the newly partitioned drive was gone. We tried Partition Magic and some other program, but all we got that even showed the drive was ever there was in a small useless box next to the C: drive info in a Manager program. The recovery drive was close to full before the changes. Oh and he changed the size of the C: drive when he did all of this. The C: drive works fine so far, but all that has been done on it is look for the peek a boo drive. Is it gone forever? Does anyone know of something I can try to get my files back? All of the pictures of cats seem to still be there, but my 5 children and 13 grand childrens' photos were on there. I am sick about this. My friend feels like crap over it. though he says it is my fault for distracting him. roflmao NOT! All I did was sit and wait and watch. Any help out there? Thank you if you read through this. Voting Question: One of my laptop cannot see any wireless network?

Hello, I'm using one laptop(Toshiba Satellite) and one router(Linksys WRT54G). This is good. This doesn't have any problem. Today I purchased one more router(NETGEAR WGR614 v7) for my friend and tested it with his laptop which is Acer Aspire 3000. The problem is that his laptop cannot see any wireless network. That is, the wireless network connection window in his laptop doesn't show any network(My network and his new network). But my laptop (Toshiba Satellite) can see my network and the network provided by this new router too. His laptop has a right driver (Broadcom Wireless LAN 802.11b+g v3.100.46.0) which is provided and recommended by Acer Support Website. To test more I got two more laptops which were used by his childrens and tested them. But the situation was same. They cannot see my network(Linksys) and his new network(NETGEAR). His children were using the non-secure wireless network of one of their neighbors so far and had no problem. So I'm assuming their laptops are compatible to some router and not compatible to some router. But my laptop is compatible to all kind of routers I want to make their laptops see their new router at least. Could you give me any advices and if possible the solution? Thanks, more

I really wanna go to Harvard HBS really and im doing everything i can think of to show im good enough I ened my freshman year with a 3.28 GPA but i can bring that up if i get all A's and i'm taking mostly AP classes i slacked off a bit my freshman year but im going to do way better and then aside from grades im in ALOT of clubs (Future business owners of America, Acedemy of finace, Enviromental club, Young womens organization, Art club, Student council) I'm also the Vice President of my class and hopefully going to move up to president for my junior/senior year :D I help around the school when ever i can (prep day,laptop training,introdicing the freshman,stuff like that) i also volunteer in the office for service hours in the morning and at lunch sometimes Outside of school im getting involved with the community im having a fundraiser for an animal Shelter and i hope to do many more I volunteer when i can at animal shelters or childrens hospitals i read stories to kids at the library I think im doing everything i can to show i can be a good leader i need help or advice im confused :( more

Resolved Question: Is it snooping if you have been given the password for emails?

I am married to a military man whose job has him living 5 days a week in another state. This has been going on for a few years now, that and some tumultuous events that have occurred in our lives, have caused some very serious distrust issues. He is also very verbally abusive, and overbearing (although he has been getting help for that). I have always had passwords to his email accounts. (I believe it originally began because he needed emails from his ex-wife sent to an attorney.)When he comes "home" on the weekends he has full access to any computer I use, my blackberry, as well as my email accounts, and myspace. However, he claims he doesn't look at or read any of them (except the myspce). I feel he does and isn't honest with me about it. He has also begun to "jump" on his blackberry everytime is buzzes or beeps. To the point that I was in mid-sentence, he pulled it out started typing, and didn't even realize I had stop speaking, so I got up and walked away. He never even noticed, and I am afraid to say anything because of his abusive nature. He has a laptop that he uses for personal use where he lives as well as a work laptop. He used to bring the personal computer home, but recently has stopped. When I question him abuot this he becomes angry, and says that Im so suspiciuos. I am honest with him, however he will lie to me abuot going to walmart. Usually when I am honest with him about my worries or things I have done that are wrong, it is thrown back in my face, not once but repeatedly. I am suspicious. I feel that I have a right to look at what he is doing, just as he can look at what I am doing. When his behaviour toward me is respectful, I don't feel the need to look. When it isn't I feel that he is lying to me or hiding something. If I find that he is, he claims that he did it because I am so suspicious. We snoop our childrens accounts when they act suspicious to protect them. So isn't it protecting your marriage? He may be deploying overseas soon, and I am afraid that he will do to me what he did to his former wife. (He deployed, only contacted her when he had to, said to everyone else but her (she claims) they were getting divorced, so it justified him carrying on with a girlfriend (or more appropriately Russian whore [literally]), and they were back together when he came back). I know that there isn't enough room to write it all in here, but he has been unfaithful repeatedly (not just the once) in previous relationships (we both have). We are on the edge of divorce, and he has stopped talking to me, and being completly honest with me, unless it is how he feels I am a terrible wife and mother, or screwed up. I am just looking for further opinions to this matter. What do you think? Is it snooping? Or warranted? Please don't just tell me that I need a divorce. I am trying to find ways to rebuild the trust in our marriage without getting sucker-punched, and maintaining some sense of security and sanity. I am also in counseling (alone) for my insecurity issues. more

Resolved Question: Is there a way to tell if a product uses tantalum capacitors?

I read an article today about how many electronic devices (particularly small form factor devices such as cell phones, laptops, notebooks, video game consoles, etc.) contain capacitors made with Congolese ore mined by children and involved in the conflicts there. Is there a way to tell if a product contains tantalum capacitors short of taking them apart and examining their internal electronics? I'd like to know that I'm not enjoying video games at the expense of childrens' lives. It would be easier to keep my head in the sand but, alas, that darn conscience keeps eating at me...P.S. Since someone mentioned them specifically, I'm not targeting Sony (though the article did) specifically. I'd just like to know exactly how prevalent these components really are, in all devices in which they're used. Also, not all tantalum is gongolese, and not all capacitors are tantalum (or electrolytic at all). I'm not seeking to protest their use. I just want to appease my conscience. I recognize that, living in an advanced industrial nation, I'm going to be benefiting from the suffering of others whether I like it or not, no matter what I do. But I'm a gamer, and while I love games, they aren't something I NEED in order to survive. I may not be able to give up everything that contributes to things I'm ethically opposed to, but any step in that direction is something I'm interested in undertaking on a personal basis. ive heard that its considered a childrens laptop, but i just wanted a smaller laptop that i could take with me wherever i go. also is it possible to add more memory space using a card or something? the one i was looking at is only 2gb.i wanted to use it for internet, email, gaming, listening to music (can you use itunes?), watching movies, and storing pictures and all kinds of microsoft office documents; basically everything any other laptop could do in a compact, portable version. i know this seems unrealistic with the 2 gb memory, but is there a way to add to the memory? please dont answer unless you have personal experience with this laptop. thanks ♥ more

Right now I have a dell dimension 9100 with a p4 3.0 ghz ht 3 gb ram . I just put in a dvd burner a few months ago. I need to downsize and don't now if I should buy a laptop or just get a different tower. I know the p4 is obsolete now as it ht I assume since there are quad and extreme cores now. But, what should I replace it with. I use it for school, word processing, internet surfing, and my kid uses it for childrens games. I just moved out of my fiancees house. I need to go back to get the rest of mine and our childrens stuff. I paid for the living room furniture, our mattresses, he paid for the bed frame, my aunt bought all our kitchen stuff, we each bought one of the washer/dryer but cant remember which is which. he says he has to be there when i take aything I will take the obvious things that i know i or my family bought me. but like, my laptop, i paid 1/2 of it cash and he paid the other half credit, but its mine and i use it for online school and he never uses it or needs it. i paid 900 for our mattresses and he paid 400 for our canopy bed frame. i think i should just take the matresses or just pay him for the frame and take it all. my aunt gave us a living room tv in exchange for his cleaning their carpets. the fish tanks our "ours" the animals are technically mine. he bought my daughters beroom furnichure and my aunt gave us our sons crib and my uncle gave us our sons dresser.who should get what?He is acting like I shouldnt be in the house without him, when we lived their together with our 2 kids for over a year. Its OUR home but his house. its his mortgage but i picked the house when we were house hunting. he is acting like he doesnt realize it will be bascially empty except for his dining room table, endtables, coffe tables and his clothes after i take everything i bought or is mine. then he made some werid comment yesterday that he is going to put my stuff on the lawn because he can do what he wants becuase the law says anytning in his house in his. What are the minimum requirements i need to fulfill in order for her to browse and play games on these "childrens" websites. Processer speed, RAM, OS, Video Card, etc... I have a dsl connection and wireless router. And I need a laptop that can have a network card or wireless card added to it. A cd drive would be nice but not exactly necessary. I have never owned a laptop and I have looked at ebay. But, I know nothing about the older laptops and what they are capable of doing today. I am only looking to spend $100 or less. I used Adobe photoshop and Corel to do some graphic design on a PC in another country, I don't have it anymore, now I want to buy a new computer and software and start learning how to use it with specific goals, A childrens book with my on illustrations (traditional media) scan them and enhance them electronically, I'm thinking on getting the newer g4 mac laptop 17" screen, but Im not sure If I would have to learn all the basics of using a computer don't want to waste time but make it easier for me. more
