Voting Question: All the black on my computer screen is showing up green. What the heck is that about?

I thought it was something that had to do with the display but I checked that and it wasn't. I haven't had the computer 30 days yet and haven't gotten the chance to really get aquainted with it. I really don't want to send it to HP and get it repaired or replaced. Contacted HP and the tech told me to install Sfotpaq software bc I probably have a hardware problem. I don't know what the deal is. I have also tried troubleshooting the problem with microsoft.com and that was no help. I have never even seen anything like this. It is just crazy! So to recap... Everywhere on the screen that should be black in color is turning up lime green. I would call it digital lime green but that's me. Any suggestions would be great. Really great if they are not jokes, smart comments or obvious stuff like send it to HP bc ur warranty isn't up or just buy another laptop. Okay, so thanks to everybody in advance. My laptop fell off my bed about 5 ft, and is still usable, but where any white might've been before, now it's pinkish-purple, and all the black is now lime green...All other colors are fine. I have a sony vaio laptop - model number VGN C2M/W bought in 2007. I had it fixed whilst under warranty and unfortunately it was damaged in the process. The company I have brought the laptop from are giving me a new replacement laptop. My question is... what model is the updated version of my laptop (it must be Sony)? I know technology moves fast and unfortunately i don't think i'll be able to have the same model as a replacement, I therefore want the closest model possible, could anyone tell me what this would be? I have 1 GB RAM. My laptop is silver and ideally i'd like the new laptop to be silver, although I don't mind red....I'd just prefer not to have other colours i.e black, pink, lime green etc. My laptop retailed at £800, and I am guessing the replacement laptop has to be roughly the same price. I've posted this up before, and I edited it again. --------------------------------------... The day my life changed forever was a Thursday. I don't really like Thursdays - something about the word is just negative. Whenever someone says Thursday, I immediately think of Thorn Day. And thorns are not the most positive things in the world. I was at the coffee shop, the place where I spent my eight hours serving up coffee, croissants, and muffins the size of my fist. It's a mom-and-pop sort of shop - the kind that's homey and welcoming and makes you want to buy tons of muffins, just because "mom" made it straight from the kitchen. I have to admit, the best thing about working at a coffee shop in New York City is that you never run across the same customer twice. Some days you'll meet a man in a smart, neatly pressed business suit wearing lime green loafers, or a woman wearing a knit top straight from the seventies, a pink tutu, orange leggings, and roller-blades. Most of the time these extraodinary customers sit for hours just gossiping about every one they know. It's really quite interesting. I call them the Undercover Actors, because somehow they manage to create such an intricate and impressive story with just actions; a flick of the wrist here, a raised eyebrow there. Through their gossip they take me to a place where the scene is being acted out before my very eyes. I've posted this up before, but after I edited it a bit, I wanted to see what you thought. I'm fourteen by the way ( a fragile, fourteen year old) so be kind. Strengths? Weaknesses? What I need? What I could get rid of? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The day my life changed forever was a Thursday. I don't really like Thursdays - something about the word is just negative. Whenever someone says Thursday, I immediately think of Thorn Day. And thorns are not the most positive things in the world. I was at the coffee shop, the place where I spent my eight hours serving up coffee, croissants, and muffins the size of my fist. It's a mom-and-pop sort of shop - the kind that's homey and welcoming and makes you want to buy tons of muffins, just because "mom" made it straight from the kitchen. If you were to enter this quaint little shop, you'd see waxed mahogany tables and chairs spread across the floor in a convenient disarray - convenient being that I can maneuver my way around them easily. I have to admit, the best thing about working at a coffee shop in New York City is that you never run across the same customer twice. Some days you'll meet a man in a smart, neatly pressed business suit wearing lime green loafers, or a woman wearing a knit top straight from the seventies, a pink tutu, orange leggings, and roller-blades. Most of the time these extraodinary customers sit for hours just gossiping about every one they know. It's really quite interesting. I call them the Undercover Actors, because somehow they manage to create such an intricate and impressive story with just actions; a flick of the wrist here, a raised eyebrow there. Through their gossip they take me to a place where the scene is being acted out before my very eyes. Resolved Question: A lime green laptop for Christmas?

I am looking for a laptop for christmas, and if anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful! I am 14, (I know I may be a little young to be getting a laptop, but my dad knows I am responsible) and I would like a lime green, fairly light, thin laptop that would fit a teenager, be good quality, but not too expensive. (am I looking for the impossible or does something like this actually exist?) My dad says if I can find one before christmas, then he will buy it for me! I would also prefer it not being a mac. Resolved Question: I just bought an LCD monitor and the picture is not clear?

I have a gaming laptop and I just purchased an external 19" wide LCD monitor. It is an Optiquest Q191wb, The screen is blurry and reducing the screen resolution does nothing. Also anything green shows up lime green and everything red is like fushia. My current screen Resolution is 1440 by 900 and this is the resolution my laptop screen currently has. The screen also has like a "white noise" type grainy image when on a white screen or on the black screensaver. Any ideas as to how to fix this? more
