Open Question: Please could someone help me with wireless connection problems??? (Macbook)?

I really need some help with my wireless internet connection. I can connect Wireless on my work laptop (Dell), iPhone 4, and Nintendo Wii but i cannot connect Wireless with my Mac Book pro. Randomly it dis connect Wireless for a hour or so a few nights ago but wil not do it again no matter what I try to do. I click to connect to plus net wireless and it prompts me for a "WEP" password. I enter the same password that I did for other computer etc and it either says 1 connection timed out 2 unable to connect 3 just keeps on asking me to re enter password time and time again As it has connected once and does not struggle on other computers I am sure it cannot be the router (the router is a gray Thompsons router. If anyone can help me solve this I would be so Happy as it driving me crazy, apple are useless and plusnet are about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. more

Open Question: Problems with connecting new laptop to internet?

My grandma finally decided to update her computer. She bought a laptop, a Presaria CQ62 (compaq). I have tried everything I could think of to get this thing to connect. It does not require a password for the broadband connection, that was the first thing I tried. I have also gone though all of the help features on the computer and still was unable to connect. All other computers we have connected in the past, simply needed top be plugged in with the ethernet cord and they were ready to go. This includes both MAC and PC. At this point I am frustrated and out of ideas. Have any suggestions? The system operates with windows 7. more

I know macs can run windows so would there be no problems with CAD aswell or should i just go with a PC? Open Question: sims 3 for mac, is there a key you can press to save and quit?

I've been considering getting a mac for awhile. I want a macbook. (the plain white laptop) It's $999. Which is pricey considering the laptop I currently use was $500. I have an acer laptop. it's pretty cheap, but it was good for a beginner laptop. I saved up and got it when I was 13. My cousins both have apple macbook (they're the older ones, but they still work great) but My uncle and my dad both hate apple. a person bought this model without paying attention the keyboard did not have Arabic and realized it too late after going online using it , when they took it back to the store to exchange with an Arabic one they refused . Now they are stuck they want to add Arabic on this Apple Mac Book Pro but the tech people told them to replace the laptop keyboard , but someone who tried that before told us nothing of a complete exchange of the laptop will fix that , as they "have been there and done that" and their laptop stopped working after the tech did that keyboard change because of incompatible chips or whatever they call it. They say it is not like Windows where you can change the language with a click , it needs a hardware part in Apple? is this true? How can this be done under warranty given the store is refusing to exchange for that reason? I certainly don't know much about computers, but I've used PC my whole life and have little knowledge of macs.. This year I'm going off to college, Loyola University, and I am studying nursing-ultimately I'd like to be a CRNA or neonatal nurse if I don't go to med school. Ok, so I have an iPod nano, 5th gen, 8 gigs. When I opened it, it had 7.64 gigs of space on it, which is pretty decent as far as an iPod nano goes, considering they're not guaranteed the full 8 gigs of space. When I first started using the iPod, I was on a Mac laptop, before I went back to Windows. When I started connecting the iPod to the Windows laptop, the amount of available memory dropped to 7.35 gigs, which is both weird and annoying. Is that a normal occurrence, and is there anything I can do to fix it? more

When I used to have a Toshiba laptop, I used Windows Live Messenger and I got a lot of spam messages from my contact users. Now, I am a new Mac user. I just bought Microsoft Office Student 2008 software for my Mac laptop and I plan to put Microsoft Office Student 2010 on my Windows 7 desktop. I have had very little experience with any word/excel etc. program and am completely lost. I decided to buy a book instead of just using the online help. My question is since I am getting the same basic program except for two different operating systems, would either book tell me what I need to know to work the program on both computers? In other words if I get a Windows Office 2010 book, would it be close to what I will have on my Mac (I realize it wouldn't be exactly the same). I really need help and am just not sure what to get. Open Question: My laptop won't connect to my printer over the wireless network...help please?

I have a laptop running Windows XP and I'm trying to print stuff over a wireless network to a Brother MFC-8860DN printer. The printer is connected via USB directly to our home computer, an iMac, and we have the network set up with an AirPort Express. Printing from the iMac to the printer works fine, and our network is working too, from the iMac and my laptop. When I run the Add Printer Wizard on my laptop, however, I select "A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer" and then "browse for a printer" and the only thing that comes up in the list is "Microsoft Windows Network." If I select that and click next, then I get an error message telling me to specify a valid network printer name. I checked all the settings on the Mac and printer sharing is on, but I still can't connect to it. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks. more

Open Question: Picture ideas?!!??!?!?!?!?

I wanna take a self picture, with my mac laptop. for facebook, or for making a life size poster of it. im running out of ideas tho.... :/ i perfer indoor pics, but outdoor will be accepted. so any ideas? something pretty, cool, and just fun!! :) kinda creative too :) stuff like,,,example- jumping, and taking a photo in mid air. example- peeking out from behind a tree. more

Open Question: Making a parody/abridged video help?

Okay I'm thinking about making a sonic x parody video (Abridged series) but I've never made one so I need help. I know how to edit the video and stuff. Theres just 2 things I don't understand. 1. How to get the video, I mean do I need to go but a dvd, or upload the video from youtube, or buy it from itunes or what. 2. How do I take out the voice's and add the voices i'm going to use. Oh and if it helps somehow I have Windows 7, not a mac. And its on a netbook/laptop Please helpThanks Mike. But that site's tottaly legal right? And I can download the video from youtube right? more

Open Question: toshiba webcam confusion?

I have a toshiba satellite a205 laptop with windows vista and a built in webcam. i'm able to skype and stuff like that but i can't figure out how to take pictures or videos with the webcam. i want something kind of like the mac photobooth. i'm not sure if i already have a program on my computer that does that or if i need to download one. i've looked all over my computer for a program and still cant find one. i could really use help on trying to find it on my computer or links to a website where i could download a program for free and that is antivirus. i really dont want to have to use a website like sillywebcam.com every time i want to take pictures. i've also found a few sites where i can download a program but they all looked a little shady and not very real. so if you give me a link to a site where i can download something, please be sure the site is legit. i would be happiest with a link to a download center from toshiba. thank you! more

Ok so Im realy interested in what is Film! So Im looking for a laptop that can help me work with everything regarding film. So Im not sure what would be better to buy, a MAC laptop or other?? Also what kind of programs can I use, Im looking to be able to edit videos, make them look profesional, and even make some cool Intros for different things! So please help me and tell me from personal experience which laptop is the best to use, and what kind of program/s. more
