So apparently my laptop uses too much of the internet... My dad says it takes up 93% or something! So whenever I am on the internet, my family can't do anything on their laptops. Open Question: Help - how do I view a mac file on PC (Comic Life)?

OK So in school I have this class called iMedia. All of the computers/laptops at my school are Macs. Anyway, one of the applications we have used in iMedia is Comic Life. I made a comic. Anyway, yesterday I bought a jump/flash drive thing and today brought it to school and I put my comic onto the jump/flash drive. Now, I am at home and I have a PC, not a Mac. Every time I try to open the Comic Life file it just keeps asking if I want to save it or open it and whatever I click it doesn't do anything it just loads then nothing happens and it goes back to that. How do I open it? Do I have to save it as something in particular? Please help! :) more

The ethernet light on my modem keeps flashing and the internet is going slow and sometimes dropping out. It doesn't normally do this. I restarted it but i didn't work and i unplugged it and stuff and it still doesn't work. It's been doing for two days I don't have a password in it and it is wireless as well (i use my laptop on it). I thought maybe someone else could be using but i don't know. um.. i have a mac and i looked up how to make a network and put a password on networks and stuff but it confused me so much. (I have a d-link if that makes any sense to u or helps in anyway) I want to but tixs to a music festival before they sell out and it keeps dropping out argh! thanks.I tried putting a password on my network but the light keeps flashing and the internet is still running slow. Open Question: how do you upload a video to YouTube if it's saved on iMovie on an apple mac laptop??!?

hi. i have had a youtube account for ages but every time i try i can never seem to upload a video... i have this one saved on iMovie on my mac (i think it's an older version.. not the newest) but whenever i try to upload it it won't let me. (on the iMovie app..) i've tried clicking the 'share' tab and then 'Youtube' but it wont let me write anything in the 'description' or 'tag' places. Its 'category' is 'downloading' but it's grey-ed out so you can't click it... also, there's a button saying 'account' and it does this weird thing where you click a button saying 'add' and then you have to 'sign in' (where it takes you to a youtube link warning you about 'third-party application permissions'), and then you have to 'confirm sign in' but when you click that button it doesn't do anything.... i've also tried doing it from the actual youtube site. i click 'upload', then 'upload video' and then i browze and find the file but it's gray and i can't click it...... help??! do i have to upload more software or something?! is it just the video? (it consists of a garage-band song and a few pictures from google images and a few photobooth ones....) more

I'm getting a new laptop and need to be able to run both Windows 7 and Mac OS for business reasons. I want to get the best for my money and will buy a PC. Open Question: Are there any PCs or laptops in this world which can do the following things (see details)? Please help!?

I want a computer that can do the following things "simultaneously" (multi-tasking) and smoothly WITHOUT any glitches, slow-downs, lags, crashes, lock-ups, observable latencies, overloads and so on: Runs Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit as the basis of everything I want to do (ok, Macs can do that as well, so a possible future version of Mac Pro with 2 Core i7s or something as powerful may be a candidate). If it is a desktop PC, then it should allow me to connect 3 Full HD (or better yet even higher resolution) monitors (yeah, a single Radeon HD 5xxx or several graphics cards should do the trick). These monitors are preferably TouchScreen or MultiTouch. Two Linux distributions (Ubuntu and Fedora, latest versions) are opened in VirtualBox (1GB of memory allocated for each). NOW for the insane CPU usage: Music: Nuendo 4 runs on ReWire master and its slaves are FL Studio 9, Ableton Live 8, Reason 4, Sonar 8.5, and so on. Tens and hundreds of the latest state-of-the-art VSTi synths and VST effects are loaded in the memory. ASIO latency 5ms AT MOST. All of these VSTs as well as their hosts themselves probably eat up the processing power of 5 Core i7 Extremes, although I may exaggerate. Video editing: In one window I want to work with Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 on HD video editing, with operations such as applying various complex effects, cutting videos, sequencing and so on. Gaming: I want to run AT LEAST 2 or 3 of the latest games, such as Dirt2 or Dragon Ages each in one 720p window (alternatively using ALT-TAB). Internet: the possibility of opening around 200-300 tabs in one browser (obviously requires 64 bit browser, as well as a lot of memory, but in the case of loading videos from YouTube, one in each tab, 64bit Flash must show up some day from Adobe)... I would also like to load YouTube Full HD videos without much CPU usage. Other video related operations: I want to record TV shows using a TV Tuner (standard definition), and, at the same time record what my Wii outputs via a video interface such as Dazzle DVC100. Simulaneously, I want to use the best SD to HD transcoding software to convert old videos from my old external hard drive (using TMPGenc or Badaboom with CUDA or something likewise). And again, at the same time, record Full HD videos using a HD webcam. Yahoo Messenger :D and MSN messenger are opened and each work with one sound card, while the music software mentioned above works with an external audio interface or an aggregate of external audio interfaces. Each uses a different webcam (so in total there are AT LEAST three: one which records video, one which outputs via Yahoo Messenger and another which goes to MSN). Graphics: GIMP, Maya 6.5, 3ds studio max... Security: I really don`t know which AntiVirus is best, but it should work permanently and scan without interrupting other processes. ...and many more.. ...and lots and lots of hundreds or thousands of small, low CPU usage applications that aren`t worth mentioning, although by the fact that they are hundreds that might be a problem... The computer should be able to manage to work with at least 50 USB, 10 Bluetooth, 3 eSATA and 5 FireWire devices, as well as deal with their drivers and software. The devices are stuff like: microscopes, lamps, various coloured lights which are cotrolled by MIDI coming from the music software mentioned above, USB toys such as robots and such, cup heaters, etc.... FireWire audio interfaces, 1.5 TB hard disks, Wireless gaming devices, wireless input controls, USB synths, MIDI controllers, digital pens, wireless printers and scanners (about 20 scanners), computer controlled telescopes.... I also want to be able to write 5 BluRay DL discs (hence, I need 5 bluray units, but I specifically want this computer to handle these operations as well). Again, all simultaneously. OK, so if you could stack 20 Core i7 Extreme based overclocked computers in a room, each having 4 super fast video cards, various PCI add-ons and tonnes of memory, how would you sync them to use combined power? I can already predict that there might be no answer for this, but maybe someone can explain to me why all of these are not possible, or more exactly, why no one thought of this. more

I just had a crazy idea. I am a PC user by birth, but my job requires me to use a Mac so I am facing a crisis. I am looking into buying a Mac just so I can run the software I would need for work (mostly Adobe, Omnigraffle, etc) but I also need a PC to coordinate with classmates in a school that is all PC-based. I know I could buy the same software for Windows but I feel like I would be caught in a never-ending compatibility struggle. I recently bought a LaCie external hardrive. The problem is i want it to be recognized on my iMac and also on my PC Laptop...That has windows 7. We were going to buy a Samsung Blueray dvd player with Netflix etc on demand but my wife said that she wanted to hook up a mac mini instead. alright so it is time for me to get a new laptop. i have been looking and i have found two i like but with very different prices and different hardware. the sony Vaio E series has 8gb ram and idk about the hard drive, but im not to worried about that. it also has a 5i intel processor, this should come out to be about 750 buck, but then there is a mac book with only 4 gb ram with a intel processor for 1200 dollar. i have a mac now and i love it and i also have windows xp and i like that, so not sure what one to get. i will be doing video editing and lots of multi tasking.
