Open Question: HP Mini 110-1000 won't load (details inside)?

Laptop loaded up and went into a system something or other; started saying it was deleting duplicate object 25 or something. It got to 1 percent complete, the battery died (even though it is near full), and now I cannot boot it. It will not load in Safe Mode, Safe mode with Networking, Safe mode with Command prompt, last known good configuration, or even start up windows normally. I found many people (via google) complaining about the same problem with the same HP Mini model. Should i put it in under warranty, or does someone know how to fix it? more

What to do when your laptop is boiling and you have no cooling mat and you're currently using it? Could something happen to my laptop? I have a mini, and it never freezes. but if it's very hot, what can happen? also, do you know how to fasten a slow-recognizing mouse usb? like when I start up my laptop, my mouse takes a few minutes to work and its annoying to wait. for those few minutes or less whatever, I have to use my touchpad which I dislike. any suggestions? Resolved Question: Why does my mouse (USB) take long to work when starting up my laptop?

Whenever I start my laptop, it takes like a few minutes (or less, but still its annoying to wait) for my mouse to work. Is there a particular reason for this (like too many programs makes USB hardware slow to work- this also applies to my flash drive and SD card) or is it just the quality of the laptop? and if there's a way, how can it be faster? Resolved Question: How do you overclock on a Windows 7 netbook?

I was given a netbook (a small laptop) as a gift for my birthday. I don't have the money to purchase a faster computer, and I am a bit frustrated with the low processor speed (1.66 Ghz). I recently heard about overclocking, and decided to give it a shot. Much to my chagrin, I discovered I was given no option to overclock when I ventured into the BIOS menu (Upon PC startup, I press "escape", then "f12" or something (whichever key puts me in the BIOS menu). Could you tell me how I can access an overclocking menu, from the BIOS menu or elsewhere on a Windows 7 netbook? Open Question: my tv wont display my laptop using VGA to RCA?

my laptop only has VGA & HDMI and my older tv only has RCA/Svideo. I just bought a VGA to RCA/Svideo split. When I tried connecting my TV and using fn+f4 or Windows Key+P and went to duplicate or extend, nothing showed up on my tv. I tried with TV on first, then TV off. Any ideas on how to get the video to work? I managed to get the audio to work using Mini audio to white/red RCA. I dont want to spend money on buying a new TV. I was on my laptop just browsing the web, then everything got a pinkish tint and then the screen went black, i waited for about 10 min but nothing happend, so i restarted it only to find that i have 6 mini screens now 3 on the left and 3 on the right, its really hard to do anything on it. i have an hp pavillion dv6000 and it only works if i start in safe mode (still has the 6 way split screen) i was told that it might be an lcd but.....I just need some more opinions more

Something that i have noticed was, if you pull up both 360 views on the dell.com version and the best buy version. at the bottom of the screen you'll see (while laptop is open) the physical difference. the bottom of the screen for dell sits behind the system and for best buy the screen connects directly right above the keyboard. i hate to sound so picky, but the 6-cell battery is important for travel and that ugly battery can catch on things and be uncomfortable. and did i mention its ugly?Yes i did go to best buy and look at it myself. i asked 3 different agents and had them run it thru their computer. i triple checked, they say that is a 6-cell. but i dont want to buy it to find out they were mistaken, because they hired this 19 year old girl retrospective for her looks instead of her knowledge. more

every time i try to log in it says user service profile cannot be loaded or something like that? does anyone know how i can fix this. also when i tried to go to computer because someone told me i had to follow certain steps to be able to fix it, i had to type my administrator password for something and it always says "bleh bleh" cannot be found. Open Question: Can you help me choose a laptop for uni?

Sorry for the vague question, but I couldn't get all the detail in there. I'm going to university in October, and will need a laptop. I find looking at different laptops on the internet incredibly difficult because there are so many of them and they are difficult to compare, so I'm asking in the hope that someone will have some experience. Features that are important to me: Good quality keyboard (reasonable size, good for extended periods of typing) Good build quality Reasonable battery life Light and smallish - it will need to be ok to lug around a lot Capable performance - it will be mostly a work machine, but I like photography so it would be great if it could cope with light GIMP work. Ubuntu compatibility would be nice Things I'm not bothered about: Brands Hard drive space (I keep all my files on an external HDD) I'm planning to spend no more than £300-350, reconditioned. So far, I've taken a real shine to the HP Mini 2140 for its compactness, keyboard, durability and battery life. But is long periods of typing on a 10in screen annoying, and will it cope with basic photo editing? Hope you can help; sorry it's not a simple question. Ben more

I've bought Alienware's m11x laptop and I'd like to find a good laptop bag for it. I'm looking for a messenger bag of sorts that is durable and will protect my laptop, but I also don't want it to be bulky. Resolved Question: How to connect sony Mini Dv to computer or laptop?

My Sony Mini Dv (DCR-HC21E) came with a USB cable to connect to the computer, but whenever I try to import any footage, it says that you must use the ilink cable (which didnt come with the camera and which my computer doesnt have a port for). I am stuck and do not know if it is possible to even use the usb at all, but then why would they supply it?? i cant figure out what it is used for. Any help from anyone who has had experience, or anyone who just knows how to overcome this problem would be hugely appreciated. It would be a great help, because I am going over seas (with a laptop), and would no longer be able to use my dvd recorder (as currently i play the footage through the dvd recorder and record onto a blank dvd) and therefor if i can overcome this problem i will be able to store it onto my laptop. I am confused , because the manual itself quotes "USB cable- this method is good for copying video and sound recorded on a tape to the computer", yet i am constantly notified that i need an ilink cable. Open Question: Cannot turn on bluetooth on my Dell studio 1537 laptop?!?

Please help I've tried almost everything suggested on each site or forum and I just can't seem to find a solution: I know I have a bluetooth mini/card as it is enabled in bios but I can't find it anywhere else not even in device manager. I currently have a Yamaha PSR-3 musical keyboard connected to my STUDIO 1535 via mini RCA jack. I'm able to play music for a short while, then my computer shuts off the audio. I can turn it back on by playing any sound that is laptop based, however, it simply goes back to ignoring my musical keyboard after a while. What can I do about this? more

Open Question: My laptop keeps freezing!! Im going to scream!!!?

Its a mini one so it has no disk thing. Its a Eee. ummm....i dont know computers but I use google chrome. it came with internet explore but i dleted it. i have a acer mini laptop and the mouse wont move at all. i tried restarting the computer. i tried letting the battery die and then turning it back on plugged in and it goes to the username thing to sign on and i cant move my cursor. what do i do?!?!! more
