Open Question: Should I start watching TV? -Read The Details Please-?

I stopped watching TV about a year and a half ago. Not because I thought it was bad, but because I started going on the internet a lot more. Which I think is pretty worse. Anyway, I need to stop going on the internet. I go on it way too much. I don't go to any social networking sites, but I spend most of my time watching anime, reading manga, researching for my own satisfaction, and here on Yahoo Answers. I also realized that I miss out on a lot of information when I don't watch TV. For this year and a half, I have almost been shut out from the world, information wise. I also read that watching it (in moderation) has it's benefits, although I won't list them. If you think that I should start watching TV, can you give me some good shows to follow so I won't be lost while searching through the channels? I'll let you know about my personality, just so you know what I'm like, before recommending something I'll be bored of. I liked to learn. But don't recommend Discovery Channel, because I already have that on my list. I like to think. I also like things that make me think. So complex shows would be good, but nothing too heavy with mystery or tragedy. I really like comedy too. The witty type though, not south park. I'm already planning on watching Comedy Central though. I'm not going to watch disney channel, well.... because I won't. But I'll probably watch Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon occasionally. BTW, I'm 13, and female. Just in case. But just because I told you my age, hopefully you won't hold back, even if the show is a bit adult-ish. When I say adult-ish, I mean nudity (do they even show that on TV?), murder, or shows that seem so complex that you doubt I would understand it. My parents aren't strict, and they trust me. And I trust myself. I'm not... completely immature. I just wanted to let you know. If you need to know, I have Cablevision. I hope you can help me! more

Or should there be able to be uncensored shows after a certain hour ? My mom and I were talking about this, because her in Canada after 10pm a lot of networks re-air their uncensored shows. We got on the topic when mom was shocked at a show that flat out said "f u c k" ! She thinks that they should be censored because a child could be watching. Back in 2003 and 2004 two shows I watched on Cartoon network were Duck Dodgers and Sitting ducks. I often tried to catch Duck Dodgers every Friday and again on Saturday when new episodes would air, both Duck Dodgers and Sitting Ducks were shows that I watched on the weekends and during the week. Though Duck Dodgers is on Boomerang, Sitting Ducks isn't but I did find it on hulu.com and Youtube. The shows had decent story-lines and were funny but didn't last long. Anyone miss these shows? more

Okay. So there's this anime I wanted to ask about. I watched it when I was 8 years old so my memory might be a little bit blurry. Okay.It's about this young boy who's really lost and lazy. He only have a friend. His mother died, leaving only a feather behind. So, the young boy holds the feather, but then the cops comes. He runs away, leaving his friend behind unwillingly. Suddenly, as he was running, this green portal appears in mid air and welcomes him in. The young boy takes the deal and walks in. When he walks in, he was in a completely different world! Then, he realizes that he was near a battlefield. He walks over there just to see monsters battling each other! One was a young girl whom has a Girl+Jellyfish Monster battling an other monster (Forgot). Then, the boy, overwhelmed by this, Screams. And was sent to the Mayor/ Government Boss. Once he reaches there, the mayor talks for an amount of time and he grants the young boy an sword that can hold 3 circular slots to hold 3 balls that contains the monster inside. Thus, the young boy's journey begins. Please help me figure out what anime this is. I have some hints from memory: 1. It was on Cartoon Network but now it's no longer shown. 2. One of the title was kinda like "The Golden Mask" or something like that 3.There's a competition of strength and bravery and the young boy takes over the place of an amateur in the competition but gets found out in the end. It was a cartoon about a boy (I think Japanese) who has this whistle that called this robot (pre-Transformer) family: 1 whistle for the boy robot, 2 for the mother (or father), and 3 for everybody when serious butt needed to be kicked. Resolved Question: Do you think Nickelodeon will ever make a good show again?

It seems like all of the shows on Nick now-a-days are absolute garbage. They have sent out a long string doozies like Mighty B, El Tigre, Back at the Barnyard, The Penguins of Madagascar, Fanboy and Chum Chum (possibly the worst ever), and a bunch of other stuff that got dumped directly onto Nicktoons Network. Even good shows like Spongebob have yet to make a good episode in about the last five years. Not to mention terrible live action shows, though they were never good at that stuff to begin with. Do any of you see this same trend? I can't even stand to watch anything on Nick any more, since they rely solely on stupid and gross humor. I find it hard to imagine kids would even like this stuff. What ever happened to cartoons that were just plain funny? I've already long since lost all hope in Cartoon Network, and now it looks like Nickelodeon in getting flushed down the toilet as well. Do you think anybody will come out with a good cartoon show again? more

In the 90's I remember a show on Cartoon Network (when they still showed cartoons such as bugs bunny and things) that gave a little background to the cartoon then it showed it and there were always like 3 cartoon's shown in the half hour. It was so women that did the narrating. And it seems like between the last two cartoons there was always a little trivia question. It seems like the show had the word 'toon' in the title but I just don't remember. I remember each show had a common theme as well for example same director or I think there was a Christmas episode. I have had no luck searching the internet for it and wish I could recall what it was called. (I have no idea how old the show actually was, I just know it was the good old days of cartoon network when they still showed cartoons)No, its not any of those answers it showed like old cartoon shorts from back in the day (30's - 60's) and it was on later at night if I recall..YES! Okay, so I'm 15 and half years old now. I grew up watching Cartoon network and Disney Channel and Nickelodeon! I haven't watched television in a while since high school started for me. I turned to Cartoon network to watch a little bit of Toonami, but no I see some 6teen crap and some Total Drama Island nonsense. Then I saw the logo, I thought to myself, what happened? So I changed the channel to watch Nickelodeon, e_e I was disgusted to see how homo sexual Spongebob was, I use to love spongebob. At least the old episodes, then I saw Icarly, it was kinda funny, but it's the same creator of All That, Kenan and Kel, Good Burger, and Drake and Josh and etc. Dan Schneider, I know he can do much better than Icarly! But Miranda Crossgrove is still cool. Anywho, I turned to Disney Channel, watching that hurt my eyes the most, Hannah Montanna and that wizard show? Suite life on deck? Can these shows get worse?!?! Phineas and Ferb is the ONLY good show on Disney channel. I mean Nickelodeon, if you're going to play Spongebob all FREAKING DAY then why not call the station SPONGEBOB CHANNEL?! I mean seriously, Cartoon Network , the logo is horrible. Nickelodeon's is worse! The splat was amazing! But no, it's some boring text that says Nickelodeon. The Splat showed the fun of Nickelodeon. Cartoon Network, what happened to Toonami, you guys are idiots for getting rid of it. New episodes of naruto has to be shown on FREAKING DISNEY XD. That channel is horrible too. Resolved Question: What's the show that USED to be on cartoon networks?

There's this robot show on cartoon network and IT had a game on cartoonnetwork.com. I remember in the game, there was 2 races and you can shoot back and fourth using the weapons they had, though limited. And when a robot dies, its pilot gets propelled out with a parachute. They can shoot long range, and i really really want to play this game again, does anyone know what this show is called? I never watched it, but the game is intensely fun if anyone knows. ok, on cartoon network (if you watch it) the first season was total drama island, the second season was total drama acton, what is the third season? i want to know because im a fan of these and im in the philippines.
