i get a air video application for my ipod touch. However, i get this for status: "Warning: Possible double NAT detected! Make sure that only one router on your network is doing Network Address Translation." Then i click test connection and get: "your air video server instance is accessible from internet". So actually could i stream it outside my local network or not? How could i make the status be "ok"? I am using a modem-router, not external router. I can stream video on my local network just fine. I set up my server using XAMPP on windows 7 RC Everyone on my network can view it as i have assigned myself a static I.P address. HOWEVER Nobody outside my network can view it. So - i set up a network address translation on the router, so that all http requests (port 80) are routed to my computer. However, this doesn't seem to be working .i had it working a long time ago on Ubuntu 8.10, and on windows vista. I am using a cable/dsl internet connection on my desktop. I am connected to a workgroup using class B static ip address. I use a dialer to connect to internet. I have two NICs on my desktop The NIC that is used to connect to internet has different ip the other ip and my laptop uses class B/C different ip address. However, this makes it another network thus they cant ping eachother unless a router is used. Now, if i try to use ICS (internet connection sharing) then 1st it wont work bcoz it will set my class b ip to (192.168.1.0) then i'll loose my internet on desktop alsp. It would still not work bcoz both networks will not be able to ping each other. Desktop Main NIC (that connects to internet) uses 172.16.3.35 Another NIC: uses 192.168.1.1 Laptop uses : 192.168.1.2 I want to use internet on my laptop. I can not set my laptop's ip with the same setteings for internet because it detects MAC address also. I have to share the connection to use on laptop. My NAT setting is currently set too strict and is a massive annoyance. Constantly I am kicked from a game because It says my NAT setting is "Too Strict". I know it means Network Address Translations, and is used to prevent problems with information being sent over a shared network. I know I have too do something with the administration pannel for my router and open some ports. HOW exactly do I get too the administration pannel? Also I am aware that I need a password too login too the administration pannel but where can I get my password? Please, it would also be great if you could list STEP BY STEP instrustions (I'm pretty much a nub with computers lol). I already have some instructions I got online but they aren't detailed enough. O I have a Netgear router by the way if that helps. more

My router (wireless linksys) has no WEP protection on it, and my firewall was disable when setting it up and still is. So the solution must be the NAT. Can someone give me directions or a link to directions that a 16 year old could understand? I'm good with computers but not real good. If it helps anything my computer is connected by ethernet and not a wireless connection. Points to anyone that can help me out. more

My xbox 360 is able to connect to live without any problems, however as my NAT (Network Address Translation) is set as Strict, I'm having problems playing games like GTA4 and PGR4 online. I think the problem is the way I've set up my connection, but this was the only way to get onto xbox live without buying extra equipment. I have the computer setup downstairs connected to the BTHomeHub through the Ethernet port. I have my wireless laptop upstairs, which is sharing the connection (using ICS Internet Connection Sharing) with the Xbox 360 through another Ethernet cable If anyone is using a simliar connection, please tell me if this connection works, I have opened up ports on the BThomehub and the firewall. but nothing works, as I still get the "Strict" message on the NAT connection. more

Last year I finally got the net, Although I couldn't figure out why the ethernet card would communicate with the ADSLmodem as a result of turned to wireless.
