I am a senior in high school and I am interested in Mechanical Engineering, mainly automotive. I am also interested in computer science engineering (systems, networking, communications, computer architecture). I don't know which one to go for. I think I prefer computer science over automotive engineering but that would mean when I get a job, I would be stuck behind a computer screen all day (although I'm not sure if thats what its really like). And I also wonder which one will have more jobs available in the future. I know computers will be around more and more in the future, creating a high demand for software engineers, but what about automotive engineers, where will that be in the future? moreResolved Question: World history help, some questions?

Let me explain the problem. I have a server on which i have installed windows server 2000 and not installed the active directory. Now i have made a new folder (folder 1) in the server and shared it. Then i have mapped the network drive to the particular folder from a client computer. So the user over the client computer used to put documents to the shared folder using the network drive created for him in the server. The network architecture is not Domain server architecture though there is a server still it is a peer to peer architecture. I am planning to graduate soon after spending 5 years majoring in architecture (extremely expensive) but now switching majors to graduate sooner. I had been having severe health problems ever since coming to college, often skipping class to take care of myself, record music and cope and sleep, still pulling straight A's. School is a joke to me and I distrust the entire infastructure of higher education in general. People like to follow rules, not innovate. My problem is that I decided this summer that I would just take a vow of poverty and just play my music and sell my art work as a longer-run decision, which I have consciously made a decision that I would do because it makes me a healthier, happier, more energetic person, I want to live life when I do my work, as opposed to when I am in school, which makes me seriously suicida, ridden with health problemsl. I really just want to break into the real world and etc etc. but now I have 5 years worth of loans to make up, and I have no idea how I am going to pay that all off safely, now since I really see with certainty that my temperament belongs in my own use of my time towards things I want to create, and not in a controlled system. Any advice on what I should do about this problem? I have not been around many people because of these circumstances, so I have no real network. I am planning on moving to a different place and just implanting myself into a new situation. Parents are not around, so there is no financial help outside of my own ability... moreResolved Question: How does a Virus Work and is written?
This is my second time asking this. I had to delete the question before and try again. I am not looking for pushes to learn about antivirus code because they don't concern themselves with how a virus works only detecting a known string. I also am not looking for general information anyone can read on wikipedia. And I am also not looking for examples of virus code, because I already have that. What I am looking for is information, from a programmer perspective, on what makes a virus. For example, is it just that it self replicates, or is it more than that? About the many differences between kinds of virus code, the way they work, the history behind them, and how they are written. I have no interest in using this information for any malicious purpose. On the contrary, I have creative interests in learning. By fully understanding what can break things I can better write secure programs. (again, learning how an antivirus works won't help me there) On the topic, some references to information on the differences between a virus and other forms of malicious software (although, technically, I have read about non-malicious virus programs, they tend to become malicious through bugs or changes in computer architecture) I already know a bit about what makes a virus. I have some examples. I even have some examples of polymorphic code. But I don't want to learn something like this from example. Even though I have a private network I can study on, I do not want to even have the potential for accidentally releasing something into the wild so I wanted to learn all I can from documented research. That being said, an answer will only be chosen if it is ON TOPIC and if it has references. Also, please do not give examples of virus code unless your reference has to include it as part of an explanation. What I already have: Read Wikipedia, did google searches, have a copy of the Mutation Engine, and have a book on how to program a virus in ASM. If no answer is on topic this question will be deleted. However, I would accept information on how to better write a program with virus code in mind to avoid infection or built in methods of self detection, since that is the direction I want my studies to take me. moreResolved Question: Which laptop should I get for Architecture program?
