My school principal violated my first amendment rights, and basically threatened threatened me without my parents being present. She threatened me with expulsion, the police and juvi, and confiscation of my personal items (like my computer, containing files) because she hacked into ALL of our Facebooks (since I do the yearbook and take lots of photos/videos, there were some on my profile) She wants me to email her all of my files or else she'll take me to the police. She says that I'm exploiting people when they are fully aware of it, and they are even commenting on it. We signed a technology agreement stating that we will not go on social networking sites, post our information and photos online, etc, but it only applies when we use the SCHOOL'S COMPUTERS. It clearly says that so it doesn't count when we use our own computers. Can I fight back? Also, for the record, I am 13 years old. more

The following will not work: 1. Taking children to church from a young age. Only until children have free thought should they be given the choice to follow a religion. Why? This sets a bad precedent and can result in the child not learning beyond what has been instilled into his/her mind from a young age, and then deciding this was probably just a means of control at some later time in their life. Cultists might also do this and rear the child to worship false gods. 2. Preaching Non-believers hate preachers. They are annoying, incessant, and not very convincing. What we might see as great evidence of the Lord's love can be easily "explained" by the next greatest scientific theory. Non-believers also tend to arm themselves with come-backs for every part of the bible that Christians throw at them. 3. Scare tactics The increase in individualism in recent years through online social networking has led people to thrive to be different. People are trying to push boundaries like never before. This individualism has led people to try new things and now they are no longer scared of things like satan worship and pseudo-religious phenomena such as astral projection, OBE's, etc. The old conceptual ideas of 'burning in hell' and 'demon's taking over your body' are less intimidating than before because people see these extremists embracing these acts. This is just a new level of individualism, and people will not be afraid if it means they are perceived an 'individual'. What might work: 1. Miracles Solid examples of Jesus Christ in people's lives. Miracles must be made known to everyone to 'show' them that God exists until they are interested and seek more information, where they can then research and understand God from a true love form. 2. Philosophy Philosophy should be taught from a young age. Primary schools should teach Math, English, Sport, Philosophy. It is that important that young people have free thought, can think for themselves, think logically and openly. 3. Idols Idols, like a fave uncle or auntie, or teacher, or celebrity, whoever, should express an identification with God's love. As long as this idol has somebody that looks up to them, it will give a significant impression on their admirers. Remember, not to preach excessively, only elaborate on questions that are asked concerning the faith. 4. Altruism Until we die, nothing really matters as long as we love God and live by the teachings of Christ. This has to be apparent by the larger community. Giving away free food with your local church group may seem nonsensical to passer-byes but it is a great way to show that you are a happy, loving community that wants to make a difference. Remember, this shouldn't mean that every person that takes a sausage at the sausage sizzle has to also take the "Why you must repent NOW" brochure, it is about being friendly, and non-threatening. Stronger acts of altruism are obviously more powerful, and will have more of an effect if it is published. This sounds like self-justification but it's not. These acts of altruism have little to do with faith. We are not altruistic to "earn our place in heaven" because the love of God is enough. These acts of altruism are to show others that we are willing to make other people happy until the day we die. Open Question: how to control your spa from your iphone?

I have an in ground spa that is controlled by a Jandy PDA (pool digital assistant) through an Aqualink RS system, (also made my Jandy) and I was curious if there was an app on the iPhone to where I could control my spa. This would be convenient because my spa fits about 20 people and takes forever to heat up, so I'm basically looking to be able to heat it up from where ever I am, not just over a wifi network. I'm trying to buy my brother a $10 Playstation Network card online. They don't have any of the physical cards in my area aside from the $50 ones. Open Question: Xbox 360 adapter problem, NEED HELP!!!?

My wireless adapter is starting to completely mess up, whenever i go online, about 5 minutes in (or less) it starts to freeze the game then backs out saying i am disconnected from xbox live. When i go to network settings to take a look, on the bottom status where it should state what network i should automatically connect to it just has a picture of a USB connector and where it should state the name of my modem, it only says "network". I'm fearing that this may be a hardware problem and that i will need to replace it. FYI my wireless adapter is just over 3 years old. more

Internet Lag when more than a single pc in the same network are turned on. I can surf internet and play online games without any problem when only my computer on the network are connected to internet. Detail: I have 2 housemate, who stays in same room with me. Sharing 4mbps DLS line through Linksys port. All computers are clean and using fresh new Windows 7 without any application running. Sometimes modem are blinking simultaneously even when are computer are idle, I checked every windows for any running application that leeches internet, but none!.@Christian Its still same, when one of my friend pc are turned on and other all are not ( or my pc are turned on where my friends pc are not turned on, the light does not blink simultaneously. But with combination of any 2 computers, the light blinks simultaneously and creating extreme lag. But sometimes, I turned on all pc and the lights blink simultaneously but the internet is still smooth I can host online game or play online game without problem, but after about an hour and it lags!. Is my modem bottlenecking the connection? and needed to be replaced with a better ones? @Adrian I am using Modem to Port and port to computers solution. All 3 computer are freshly installed, windows auto update are switched off too.@nikkai But still it shouldn't create such lag problem, sometime I can't even open Yahoo or Google until I restart everything and use only single computer. more

Open Question: MW2 Connection help: Easy 10 points?

Can someone please help me. Every time i try to join a session on mw2 it'll be searching for a game than stay at zero percent. Than i go back it freezez. A error comes up and says no network detection. but there is a connection. I get signed out and when i try to sign in it says dns error. I solved the whole connection thing by starting a private match before i played but now that doesn't even work. I have wireless and my friend has exactly the same internet as me and hes is perfect. I play online on my PS3 using PSN and after about 5-10 mins of online play I get disconnected and, " The connection to the game server has been lost. I am not to network savy but trying to understand all this. I have my PC, PS3, Laptop, DVR all conected to my internet, PS3 & Laptop Wirelessly & PC & DVR are wired. Now all of the equipment connects online & can download just fine. However when I look at my network places, under "workgroup computer" or "network connections" only my pc shows up....is this normal? Resolved Question: PS2 slimline - how do I log into SOCOM 3 server to play online!?

I bought my kid a new slim PS2 and we've connected the ethernet port (built in) to our ADSL router - that all works OK and we can see the online servers. But when he tries to get connected to the Australia Central Server (or something like that), it asks for a username and password! Where the heck do we get that? Some forum posts refer to using two 7-digit codes on the network adapter packaging ... but our network adapter is built in! It didn't have any packaging!! Plus he went and threw away the box that the PS2 came in so I can't even check if it's somewhere else like on the box. Please help! Is there some other way to get these mysterious numbers? Why aren't they printed on the PS2 case, for pete's sakes? And what do I do with them anyway? How does that get us the "username and password" we need? Any help would be appreciated ... more

I can get my internet icon to indicate that I have an internet signal. It even says that I am online when I go into network properties, but if I try to open a web page it tells me that there was a DNS failure indicating that it could not find the DNS server. How do I fix this? Thank you. more

Open Question: How do I back up my windows 98 hard drive or my documents when I can't attach an external drive?

I am having so many problems with my two computers. One got infected with a horrible virus and I used to use a network to back the other one up to the infected one, which of course I don't want to do now. So, I tried to plug in my external drive but I have 1.0 USB port and the drive is 2.0. Some people have said that it should work; it would just work more slowly, but my computer which has used drive A, C-F, can't assign a letter to the external drive for some unknown reason. I'd buy a 2.0 port and install it, but lots of people say that they don't always work with windows 98 SE. The bottom bar has an icon that says detach external drive safely, so something acknowledges the drive. The computer doesn't have the drivers for flash drives and if it doesn't recognize an external drive, I'm not so sure it would recognize a flash drive even with the drivers. I tried inserting a zip drive from a dead computer and I moved the cables from the CD-Rom drive which was the F drive, since there weren't extra cables. When I powered up the computer it said that there was some sort of A drive problem, but that diskette drive works just fine. The diskettes are too small to back up the hard drives. The only thing I can think of is to return the cables to the CD drive and to detach the cable from my second hard drive and use that cable for the zip drive and see if it works then. Do you have any other ideas? And do you think I could use online storage? I'm not sure that the online software would work with Windows98. Someone said you can store files in Yahoo mail, but I don't think I can attach a large file to an E-mail, if that is what I'd have to do. more

Open Question: Why does my boyfriend subscribe/view porn/dating websites that I do not know about?

This has been an ongoing problem. He is very forgetful and sometimes leaves his e-mail and social networking sites signed in when he gets off of my computer; not to mention the recent history being packed with adult websites, however this is not the part that really bothers me. One time, I found that he had set up an account to a website that is for people who want to have affairs - I was obviously upset and confronted him about it and he felt really bad about it. He even logged onto it in front of me to show me that he had not used it, and sure enough, the account was only a few days old with no mail/friends/recent searches, etc. and when we were done he deleted it immediately. After that incident, he has been more careful with covering his tracks (i.e. deleting the history and e-mails), yet he still leaves them open for anyone else who comes along. I have confronted (not in a threatening or crazy way) him in the past and tried to talk to him about it but he just denies that there is any problem with our relationship and that he does not care about that stuff and told me 'dont worry about it.' He also denies the fact that he is constantly searching for and befriending extremely pretty girls online - even though I have already discovered that as well. Im not crazy and I dont want anyone to think that I go looking for problems or things to fight about - I am usually a Iaid back person and I dont want any of this! I know that this seems like a HUGE invasion of privacy however, I think many people in my situation would look too if their significant other just leaves it open/signed in from time to time. The weird part is that he has been signing up for other sites that are less popular, and some unheard of, as compared to myspace and facebook (the ones I am on). Despite all of this, I do love him dearly, and that is why this is making me crazy and perhaps, somewhat blind to what might be going on. Is he trying to tell me something? Open Question: Would 3G internet work well with online video games?

I was wondering if 3G internet would work well with video games and if this method would work? What I was going to try to do is bridge an 3G internet connection though a 3G internet card in laptop to the wired network port. Then I would run a wire to my Xbox. Some thing similar to using a laptop as a wifi adapter for 360 (which I have been able to make work). I am betting that better way to go about this would be to get a cell phone or some other device that makes it's own wifi connection and use a wifi adapter on the 360, but I am cheap and want to be difficult. I am going to try hooking up a entertainment system in my car. I thought it would be cool to be able to pull into a random parking lot or be in the middle of no where and start playing multiplayer games online. Imagine be able to be able to go fishing and being able to pwn noobs at the same time. more

Resolved Question: Is Online College worth it?

Going to an actual campus isn't really an option for me. I want to go online but I'm not sure if it will look "good" to graduate from an online college. Will I really have any chance against people who went to a "real" college? I'm going for Network Administration/IT and I know alot of people in this field don't even have degrees, just certifications. Should I go online or just wait until I can afford to go in person? I'm 21, work full time and support myself 100% so the only way I could go to a real school is if I get a pretty high paying job. So I was thinking about going online, getting a decent paying job and working through university. Any other options? PLEASE DO NOT SAY "GO TO A LOCAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE" or something because that's just not an option for me. more
