Hi, I'm 27 and have grown up in the church. From a young age I've had a hard life and have experienced many things which screwed me up. My youth group was my life, my rock I guess you could say because I never had many friends and got picked on a lot in school-consequently I was always suspended or in the principals office for hurting those who have hurt me. I have tried to find fulfillment in God but there is the spirit and the flesh or (mind and your mental health) and you must be even on all sides of the scale. Growing up in the church, as I said, my youth group was my social life, I wanted to be happy and have a good life and turned to God. I also loved to help people. But with all the hard stuff I've been through in life it really messed me up psychology and wanting friends, wanting a girl friend (Its normal and part of being a human being) those needs have been so deprived of me that as I said it effected me and I hoped to find fulfillment in God, if you take what modern day religion or the bible says, literally. But again I found my youth group, church to, to be just another social network where I had to run that race and play that game and try to fit in and it made me crazy. I was told I'm breaking commandments 1. Though shalt have now false Gods, I'm trying to find fulfillment in other things rather than finding it in God. As I said before there is human psyche, flesh needs which are part of being human and then their is spiritual needs. The flesh, to make someone a happy, normal, healthy functioning person is not a bad thing, along with the spirtual needs. But as I said I was, in my eyes, chastised for it and reached out for help from the church and my spiritual peers. My spiritual peers were the normal, functioning, every day people who had friends, dated, had that social life which is normal and neccessary for people to have to be happy and normal mentally and when they saw me in my state and what I was trying to attain so I could be normal they, even my youth pastor, charged me with putting things before God, and that I was making him unhappy, that there was something wrong with me for trying to go after that. When its been denied you (hey life isn't fair people) you begin to decline emotionally and it may look on the outside as an obscession. Hey when your the last person on earth or are suffering from severe isolation (outside or inside- just like on tv and in fiction. Mine is inner more than outer) it may look like a severe obscession when in reality its not, its just you breaking down. They told me to pray and if nothing happened that I shouldn't worry because I had God and that maybe it was his will for me to have a hard life or to live this way (If only they knew the depth of it all) and that it didn't matter what I wanted. It was, they all said, what God wanted, and started quoting me scripture- making me, after a few years of this, feel like I was a horrible person. It went so deep that when I did date I didn't know how to make my own decisions (Hey Gods will not yours) and still suffered with emotional scars that the women thought I was crazy. They were religious to but still acted falsely and hypocritically as to what a true loving christian and human being should be. After dealing with all this, improving then declining- like a yo yo, with friends, women, life, my brother died in a car accident. I was 24 and for the first time in my life had to learn to live with death and being an only child. No one in my youth group was really there for me. Some were (like attended the service) but that was it. No hanging out, nothing. I had to actually reach out for that, wondering and asking what will I do now, is my brother in heaven (for his life was too hard for him to believe in God). When I reached out I got "Oh, sorry I don't have time right now or Stop it and trust God or your not trusting God, blah, blah,blah", when a death happened in another youth group members life (his father) and people came out in droves to support and hang with him and give him that shoulder. When something, good or bad, has been the center of your life it feels like family and the feeling of being stood up still exists. Later on my youth pastor got married. He let me down, went against everything he told me, that 1. Don't go out and look for a women 2. Don't go look for friends 3. Or that job 4. or whatever comes with being a normal person (4 is my words not his but a good summary) that if its gods will these things will be provided to you, he went against everything he told me. He was someone I looked up to and even left our church because his fiance hated our church and us because we were to modern. So to close this long story, now I feel like a bad, idol worshipping person, I still have those psychological scars, whenever I hear "God" I get a little shaken up, I don't do well with making my own decisions (I worry that I may go against "Gods Will" and that I shall be sent to hell for focusing on some more

I do not feel sharp like my peers and only did this program because my parents talked me into it. I'm having an issue connecting to my Windows 2000 unit from both my Windows Vista and Windows 7 units on my Peer-to-Peer network. The Windows 2000 computer is visible on the units, but whenever I try to connect, it asks for a user name and password. I've tried the default user name for the Win 2000 unit, the Windows Vista and Windows 7 credentials, and 'Administrator'', and it won't accept any of those. (all of the units have the same administrator password, so that's not the issue) I have two windows XP units that connect to the windows 2000 unit without a problem; it's just Windows Vista and Windows 7. more

I wanted this song (wasn't on itunes). So I looked up the song on youtube to listen to. But in the description there was a link to download it from mediafire (the comments said thank you, etc.). I wanted to song, so I downloaded it. Extracted it, and had the file of an album (Suilen, with the album The Dawn). It contains i think 6 songs. But anyways, I realized that this was illegal, This was because I didn't consider it illegal at first (first time downloading a song from mediafire or any other filehosting site for music). I immediately deleted the files, because I knew that pirates were bad for the profits of companies. I have a regular network (i don't have peer guardian or anything), wasn't using a proxy, just regular internet through verizon fios. I like to download movies before they come out. I also download a lot of music. Now I hear about people getting letters and phone calls from their isp about this. Where I am at I have about 10 wireless networks around me. I used Backtrack 3 and got most of their wireless keys to use their isp for my downloads. I never download on my wireless network though. A bunch of my friends have facebook and people always ask me if I have it and I tell them no cuz I don't really care what they think about me having it or not. However, I'm starting to give in to peer pressure and am thinking about getting facebook but what's the point of it? Yes, I realize you're going to say it's social networking and to keep up with friends and family. The thing is I only plan on adding my friends not friends so I look popular and if I'm adding my friends I could just call or txt them and I don't do photos so what's the point of me getting a facebook? more

To someone around 20 who is a modern romantic with an ISFJ personality and has mentally aged a bit further than his physical one which often acts against him? To this same person who also seeks love, not lust and happens to get generalized into the same category as the knuckle-dragging, lust driven dogs and morons of his generation? To someone that cannot simply wait for fate to intervene but strongly believe that in order for something to be found it can't be simply stumbled upon? To someone who feels loneliness is a physical ailment which happens to have an affect on him? To a man who just wants happiness in its most simplest form? I ask these questions in hopes that some answers await. I ask them because I am a 20 year old male who sees the world through a different set of eyes than most of his generation but is still ruled out as one of them. And to most of the older folks who read this and wonder about the first question, most of you will answer that with 'Most kids your age believe they are mentally older and wiser than what their age suggests'. Unfortunately, it is true about me and is the first trait that any of my family, friends and peers would tell you about me. I have tried time and time again to find someone. Outside the internet women think I just want to get in their pants and often scoff at me and disregard my efforts to simply talk to them. On the internet I'm often matched with women twice my age or I happen to be stuck in a social network with only a fraction of its viewers close to my age. Most people suggest that I simply wait for fate's calling, but I strongly believe that in order to find something you have to search for it. Waiting for it to find me often leaves me feeling lonely and in severe cases of loneliness my chest hurts to the point of making me buckle and I have difficulty breathing. I usually take it with a glass of tea and some pain relievers until it goes away. I seek the cure for my ailment. My own happiness for once. I have spent this much of my life making sure others are happy and are helped. Every step of the way I asked nothing in return and sacrificed almost everything. All with no regrets and no objections. But for once,I want something for me. Is personal happiness such a high priced thing to ask for? Hopefully I provided enough insight into my predicament and hopefully I can get better advice than 'wait' or 'try to act your age'. I've done both and have failed miserably. Any advice beyond that would be greatly appreciated and taken to heart. more

I have looked up many articles... and there is a large amount of people crying over how Full Sail is a scam. I am confused how they define a scam. Yes, I know Full Sail is expensive. I am a person with a very strong and ambitious personality. From what I gather, the people who complain about Full Sail are one or more of the following: Butt hurt over the price because dreams fall second after finances Butt hurt over the fact they have to get their own job and are not handed one. Butt hurt over the workload because they are too lazy Butt hurt over the lack of free time Butt hurt over the concept of it being a scam or Butt hurt because they do not have a balanced sense of both artistic and business ethics, ability, comprehension, and application skills.. From what I figure, Full Sail is a filter. It separates the worthy, and the worthless. the driven, and the dreamers. the capable, and the failures. Maybe im too harsh, but the idea that anyone thinks that Full Sail is what makes an artist, and not the abilities is obnoxious. My choice to go to Full Sail, is because every other school I have been to ( Four of them) have been.. too slow too broad too laid back and catered to the.... well... weak... I have a sense of business, a sense of artistic ability, and the knowledge and awareness of what to expect from the school... So i ask anyone who has graduated, ignoring my played into arrogant attitude... If I put my all, and more, into Full Sail University, will I find myself fulfilled as an artist? Voting Question: Why can't I download torrent files anymore?

It started when I updated utorrent. Now it won't recognize any peers. I tried Vuze and that didn't work either. I tried going into my control panel and turning off my firewall for all of my internet connections and that didn't work either. Something odd is that when I go on the Vuze HD network in the sidebar it isn't able to load the page. I've made sure it's a trusted program in control panel (as well as utorrent). That's why manually entering in a tracker probably wouldn't work (although I haven't tried it yet). My hard drive is fine. My internet connection is fine (obviously). Usually I'm able to figure this stuff out, but sometimes asking makes it easier. No stupid comments please, such as telling me to look at forums. Tell me the answer on the forum. Thanks! more

This is long and I apologise but please read and be patient. The Human Being is a Social Animal I have heard this quote many times and I have pondered it and I would like to challenge it. Many people live alone and are quite happy and content to do so; many people would prefer to have a small close intimate circle of friends than have a mass number. Many people would prefer to live in a flat with 3 or 4 people they know than live in a commune with many people they don't. Many people prefer to stay at home or go to quiet bars than go out clubbing; many people feel awkward in social situations and would rather avoid meeting new people. Many of our friends are people we meet through work or school or university, ie situations were we are thrown into the midst of people we do not know, and frantically seek out to make connections with people in order not to feel left out. If so many of these situations are those due to peer pressure, or society's expectations ie finding a husband / wife, or conforming to some clique and little to none being our desire to form social connections then why are we considered social? I leave you with one more note, the most successful websites of 2000-2009 where by far MySpace and Facebook - social networking sites - yet by their nature these sites constitute an oxymoron, as the reason most people use them is in fact to be anti-social, many people use facebook and bebo etc to avoid having to talk to people face to face, to avoid having to put up with people you don't want to, the favourite feature of many being the 'block' feature. My little cousin played with her friends went out had fun etc, this year she got a computer for xmas as did most of her friends they now use facebook and club penguin to play with their friends not leaving the house what part of that seem social? Am I genuinely the only person who thinks we are if anything an anti social animal? If you managed to read all that thank you very much for taking the time even if you completely disagree :)P.S. I appreciate any constructive criticism. Thank you. My world is a delicate assimilation of Russian heritage and an "American" environment. I was born in Latvia, but fate had other plans for me. My father and mother, two young Russian immigrants, brought me to America with them when pursuing higher education in the United States. Although, since then, both my parents immediately adjusted to speaking predominantly English with my sister and me, I maintained the language and link to the Russian world, partly as a result of my grandmothers' sojourns to our homes. Eventually, I became the one to initiate Russian conversations with my parents during my grandmothers' absences, for fear of losing this precious link. While many others may feel shame and may try to purposely suppress their cultural qualities for the sake of assimilation, I swell with pride when asked to pronounce my unique last name, or when I have an opportunity to demonstrate my bilingualism and communicate with an elderly 'babushka' in Hollywood in need of a quick translation. After my parents' divorce, my world inevitably split in two, between mother's California and wherever my dad happened to be living at the time. Little did I know, I would soon embrace the opportunity of altered perspectives; of an expanded world and comfort zone. I spent my early years basking in sunny California, but then transitioned to the Midwest, and then back up to the Pacific Northwest. Finally, I lived a year of my high school career in the "New South", in North Carolina's capital. My sister and I spent countless hours traveling in bustling airports; breaking away from one parent, braving rigid security and gate processes, and making the most out of endless, weary flights to our other home. We switched schools often (I attended four middle schools and three high schools), and faced repeatedly the most formidable thing to a child: a classroom full of strange, probing faces. Now I realize that my atypical childhood of constant travel and change has nurtured a great desire in me to continue to explore the world, not solely for adventure or a sense of freedom but for a chance to alter my perspectives for the sake of self-growth. I'm running an 8 user peer to peer network in my office with Office and Outlook 2000, and currently everyone has their own Outlook folders, address books and we all map one server drive as a network shared document drive. We want to be able to firstly share an address book and set of folders for client emails whilst retaining private folders on each PC for personal emails/contacts, and also be able to map the network drive whilst working at clients premises. Resolved Question: Torrents Clients Keep Bugging Out on Me?

I've tried every torrent client out there, and all the torrents end up the same (network timed out (offline (no seeders or peers))). Basically, there are tons of seeders and peers, because I saw so. There were like over 1,000 seeders and 600 peers on this one torrent, but uTorrent, Bittorrent and the whole lot reported there was none or it was an invalid URL. All the torrent sites I go to do the same thing, they allow me to download it, just like it supposed to do, and everything goes well until I attempt to load up the torrent on one of the clients, what the hell is going on? more

We have observed this now for ~6 months. At first we thought it was deliberate on Virgin's part to stop use of bittorrents - even though we have tested using legal fileshares. Virgin say they have no system in place to stop torrent. Apart from obvious P2P apps like torrents this also seems to affect multiplayer games on the xbox when the xbox becomes host.
